As a long standing principled troglodyte of kiwi culture I find this pinkie la de he shirt crap too much for my stomach to take, really you think you can change this cave dweller – yeah right. I think that stink gay rights advocates present an image that to them represents manhood at its finest. How pitiful! However Vict Uni’s got a man to run the Ministry of Women Affairs and Hulun and John Boy Pee got women running the Ministry of imaginary Men’s Affairs.

I agree with David and applaud John Key for going to the Big Gay Out.
Gays are entitled to vote and be courted just as any other group of voters.
Not that I think just because you are gay or black or whatever you should vote one way or the other.
Indeed, we should encourage a system that encourages people to think for themselves, so such racial/ ethnic/ religious or sexual block votes become irrelevent.
Let National put Rainbow Labour out of business if it can.
Just because you sleep with someone of the same sex, why should that affect your views on taxation, the economy, defence, etc.
So am am sure there are just as many Gay National supporters out there, but are not ‘out there’ as National supporters as to date it is not seen as acceptable.
Labour makes a fuss over ‘gay issues’ so tends to get more gay support, when you might think the gay community might prefer a government which pokes its nose into the affairs of its citizens as little as possible and supports maximum freedom, which is where National comes in.
While there may be many on the right opposing gay marriage, for example, why shouldn’t conservative parties support a the extension of marriage to other groups, which I believe would make them more conservative and like the rest of ‘society.’
And surely out of pure self interest, tax cuts for all is a better sell in the gay community than Working for Families!
So while we might comment on the tastelessness of John’s shirt, good on him for going.
Think about it, here we have a leader who has been to the roughest parts of Auckland and now has been to the Big Gay Out. There is obviously no part of New Zealand where he does not fear to tread.

C’mon, if it is pink then it is a very light shade of pink. I used to occasionally wear a similarly pinkish coloured shirt to work and I don’t recall anyone making negative comments on it. Mind you that was a few years ago and I might have suppressed any such hurtful remarks from my memory.

I have serious doubts that the young lady in the blue dress that “… barely covers her thighs…” behind Key is a woman at all.

All this fudging of MP’s genders for votes is a bit mind boggling. No one courts hetero’s in the same manner. How popular do you think “The Big Straight Out” would be? There could be people on stage talking about how long they’d been married, and making jokes about heterosexual sex and throwing in the odd sly jab at gays. It’s all good fun afterall.

In fact it sounds like 6:30pm at a public bar. But then gays have bars too. Hey wait a minute…? Gee, best we don’t go any further into the similarites, eh ?

Maybe some MP’s could turn up at the erotica expo next. What would they wear for that?

It must get pretty boring defining your life by what you do with your gentils after a while. It’s a bit like defining your life by the colour of your skin.

What’s a “homophobe” Mr. Dixon? One would have to assume that its someone suffering from some kind of mental complaint, similar to say arachnophobia, but relating to homosexuals and not spiders.

Can you tell me how many people have been diagnosed as suffering from this complaint? How many people have received treatment and how many have been cured? What are they symptoms? Can you tell me of which of the above writers is actually frightened of homosexuals? Look forward to enlightenment on these issues.

Yes,Horace, my thoughts exactly.

The point of my objection to politicians pandering to poofs is that they are sending the message that somehow poofterism is a special and valued state of being that deserves their attention above those of the mainstream; or that they in some way admire and empathise with them for their sexuality. It also sends the message that homosexuals, lesbians, transgender people etc have rights and needs that heteros don’t have and they should be applauded and affirmed for their sexuality! What bullshit!

We already have a butch lesbian-looking Prime Minister. Is this John Key’s new way of scoring points? If so, he is pathetic.
