Living outside the electorate

For some years now Labour keeps going on about how John Key doesn’t actually live in Helensville, the seat he is elected to represent.

What they don’t often mention is that around 20% of the general electorate MPs actually live outside the seat they represent including in Auckland alone Labour MPs Phil Goff, David Cunliffe and Lynne Pillay.
