Superb mischief

North Shore Mayor Andrew Williams is auctioning off spending an hour and a half with him in a flight simulator, to raise money for charity.
Naturally Whale Oil wants to win the auction, and he is fundraising to help him win. So any donations will both benefit the charity – Westpac Rescue Helicopter, and also means the Mayor and Whale get locked up together in a small enclosed cockpit. That has to be serious entertainment.
The bidding is currently at $200 and Whale has already raised $255 so his chances are looking good.

Can Whaleoil confirm that the $255 raised is in USD? Thats what it looks like if you click on the button.
If so, Williams had better look forward to the most fun Whaleoil has had since his honeymoon.

If someone would bid over $200 to be locked up with Andrew Williams, how much would they bid to not be locked up with him ?

Williams will be crapping himself seeing how much he “loves” Cam the Man.

All a very good laugh. Whale had better be sure it isn’t one of those helicopters with no doors like they show on the credits for MASH (currently in its 92nd rerun)!! Seriously though, if the Whale doesn’t win there should be an automatic investigation of the result. I’m pretty sure the Clown from Campbells Bay wouldn’t be above investing some ratepayers’ funds to secure the auction himself rather than spend time locked up with the Whale!

Oh for fuxsake, it’s a trade me auction. If Whale Oil wins this and Williams isn’t keen, then it really is a monumental triumph for online ignorance everywhere.

Yes, Trademe is in NZ$ and the funding drive on WO’s site is in US$. So right now, Mr W is heaving sweaty hands all day long, not just before withdrawal sets in.

As an aside, I’ve been on that flight simulator and it’s darned good. Flew from London docklands to London Heathrow in their 737
