It is entirely natural. To deny it, is to deny the human condition. Radical Islamists denounce in their teachings everything that the Western Society has become.

They not only denounce us, incite hatred, but actually endorse violence, against our innocents, then rejoice on Internet Broadcasts at their evil premeditated victories, and then blame everyone else for those despicable actions.

Then we get told not to react, and to embrace multi-culturalism, and forgive the perpetrators.

I am bemused by the inconsistency shown by the Race Relations Commissioner’s response to Paul Henry’s comments yesterday. Joris de Bres demands that Henry should be dismissed from his job at TVNZ, yet he defended Hone Harawira’s “white motherf*ckers” slur as “just Hone speaking his mind”.

It seems that Joris can only find offence with white people’s comments – surely a racist position to adopt? Or is he demanding a higher standard of conduct from a television presenter than he expects from an elected member of NZ Parliament?

The hand-wringing bleaters like Doris seem to be getting more and more precious with time too. I remember Holmes once interviewing the Maori activist who vandalised the America’s Cup – who dismissed the opinions of (then) Race Relations Conciliator Rajen Prasad as irrelevant as he was “just a Punjab”. Official reaction? – zilch.

It is the blatant double-standards that make the Race Relations Commission a laughable sham. It is pretenders like the biased de Bres who should be dismissed.

That was not what I intended and I certainly didn’t intend to sound racist. It was wrong of me to ask the questions that I did.

He avoided explaining what his intention was.

Yes, they do. I’m part Nga Puhi but on the white side we came here in 1839. My parents and their parents etc have been immersed in what it is to be a NZer all their lives.
I just feel that even though someone was born here, they are still subject and influenced by the culture imbued to their parents.(food, religion, family values etc) That makes them multi cultural whereas Nga Puhi or 5th gen NZers have had just the one cultural input.
Does this mean there are degrees of “real”- probably

@ 3-Coil; my point exactly. Either Hone Harawira breached the Human Rights Act or he didn’t. de Bres has suggested that he didn’t, yet he continues to castigate Henry. And yet by the precedent de Bres set with Harawira, surely Henry cannot have breached the Act either.

I know someone very well who has lived in NZ just over half their life, and apart from a bit of an accent they act and live as Kiwi as anyone.

DFJ, Sir Anand was never on the family court bench. whether or not he was a friend of Helen Clark, who knows, as a freezing worker, lawyer, judge, ombudsman and GG Sir Anand has met alot of people in his career. Even me!

The fact that Hone didn’t get criticized by the de Bres in a similar way just highlights still how inconsistent and backwards we are as a country with regards race relations. Now, I think de Bres’ position is a complete joke in the first place, but because it is there, at least be consistent and don’t fall into the trap of assuming that racism by minorities is somehow more acceptable than racism directed at minorities.

The sooner we start treating everyone the same, the better off we will be.

Under the Fisheries Act it is illegal to hunt, kill or harm a great white shark within the New Zealand Exclusive Economic Zone

“Now, throughout the armed forces, there’s a more widespread understanding of information that once only experts understood,” explains Dobbins.

That information boils down to this: the military can’t secure a society alone. While military deployment can provide opportunities for change in conflict states, “the changes that make the deployment worthwhile are those that are brought about by non-military means, by people by whose expertise lies outside the military,” Dobbins says. The military can impose a certain degree of security, but can’t maintain stability without development-based civilian skills.

Yes and those of us who follow these things know that the reason Bush failed in Iraq is because of his inability to solve that country’s political instability, and that was his job, not the military’s.

Interesting result though isn’t it. After all, if any would understand the true nature of the threat and the actual effective solution that would actually in fact work instead of being counter-productive, it would be these guys, on the front line, wouldn’t it.

It’s true. Bush did fail at his job. The military had their job, they succeeded. Bush failed at his. Of course, with a VP like Cheney and a Defence Minister like Rumsfeld who had advisors like Wolfowitz, I’m sure it wasn’t all his fault.

However, it’s true, he did fail. He didn’t do his job, which is for any President trying what he took on, to win the political battle.

That’s what’s stuffed them, and continues to.

No Pressure was on Beck tonight. Meanwhile, I haven’t heard a peep about it from the NZ media. If it weren’t for the internet, I never would have heard of it.

It’s almost as though the media here sympathise with 10:10.

Hurf, I have heard people say that the tradition news media will die out; there may be some truth in that. A lot more people are learning that the media are seriously slanted in their reporting, and go online to find out both sides of the story. What with bloggers and so many people having video on their phones, it’s not as possible for the media to get away with untruths as it used to be. People who are at an event can tape what happens and have it posted quickly on the internet to back up what they say, and the MSM cannot refute that.

Fletch the MSM has resources and established audience though, and that’s more powerful if the right forces are applied to their strengths.

General Von Manstein was the greatest general in WWII greater than Zhukov. Why? Because he directed the campaign in France and thus proved himself a brilliant attacking general but more importantly, successfully directed the Wehrmacht withdrawal from Russia.

Successful, delayed retreat is the most difficult military operation. This is what the MSM now faces, and its how each handle that.

BTW, Murdoch’s wall? What a disaster. A lesson in what not to do.

Europe – Coldest winter in 1,000 years on its way

After the record heat wave this summer, Russia’s weather seems to have acquired a taste for the extreme. Forecasters say this winter could be the coldest Europe has seen in the last 1,000 years.

The change is reportedly connected with the speed of the Gulf Stream, which has shrunk in half in just the last couple of years. Polish scientists say that it means the stream will not be able to compensate for the cold from the Arctic winds. According to them, when the stream is completely stopped, a new Ice Age will begin in Europe.

So far, the results have been lower temperatures: for example, in Central Russia, they are a couple of degrees below the norm.

“Although the forecast for the next month is only 70 percent accurate, I find the cold winter scenario quite likely,” Vadim Zavodchenkov, a leading specialist at the Fobos weather center, told RT. “We will be able to judge with more certainty come November. As for last summer’s heat, the statistical models that meteorologists use to draw up long-term forecasts aren’t able to predict an anomaly like that.”

In order to meet the harsh winter head on, Moscow authorities are drawing up measures to help Muscovites survive the extreme cold.

Most of all, the government is concerned with homeless people who risk freezing to death if the forecast of the meteorologists come true. Social services and police are being ordered to take the situation under control even if they have to force the homeless to take help.

Moscow authorities have also started checking air conditioning systems in all socially important buildings. All the conditioners are being carefully cleaned from the remains of summer smog.
