Oh but she probably won’t respond. From memory she keeps kwiiblog hours from 11am to about 5:30pm. I see in this thread she even apologised for being late!

A priest is sitting inside the church, when a bloke comes in and asks to be confessed.
“Very well, my child,” says the priest, as he leads the man into the confession booth, “Tell me about your sins.”
“Well, Father,” says the bloke, “On Monday, I was at my girlfriend’s house, and, well… the two of us alone, the house empty… I sinned, Father.”
“Don’t worry, child,” says the priest, “It’s perfectly normal to have such desires and share them with your partner. Nothing serious, so just say two prayers and you will be cleansed of your sins.”
“But Father,” continues the man, “It doesn’t end there. On Tuesday, I was at my girlfriend’s house again, but she had gone out with her mates, and the only one there was her sister, and, well… the two of us alone, the house empty… I sinned again, Father.”
“Oh, child,” says the Father, “You must be strong and fight those urges! Eight prayers shall cleanse you of your sins.”
“But Father,” says the bloke again, “On Wednesday, I was at my girlfriend’s house again, and she wasn’t there then either, and the only one at home was her mum, and, well… the two of us alone, the house empty… Again I sinned, Father.”
“Good Lord,” says the priest, “Child, you must think about what you do, so pray-”
“But Father,” says the bloke, “On Thursday, I was at my girlfriend’s house again, and the whole family had gone to the shop, and the only one there was the maid, and, well… the two of us alone, the house empty… I sinned yet again, Father.”
The priest falls silent.
“And then,” continues the bloke, “On Friday, I was at her house again, and they had gone out for the weekend and the only one there was her aunt, and , well… the two of us alone, the house empty…”
The priest still did not answer.
“And on Saturday,” said the bloke, “I went to her house again, and there was nobody there except for her grandmother, and, well…”
The man awaits a reply, but upon hearing none, he exits the booth – only to find the priest up on the belfry.
“Father,” he calls, “What are you doing up there? I haven’t finished!”
“Bloody Hell I’m coming down,” says the priest, “The two of us alone, the church empty…”

From the NZ Herald website:

“A woman described by a judge as “professional shoplifter” gasped as she was jailed for 18 months today. Cindy Louise Hensley, 40, was sentenced by Judge John Strettell in Christchurch District Court after admitting seven charges of theft and four charges of trespass. Defence counsel David Stringer said Hensley’s probation report revealed …. the money she received on a benefit was not sufficient to care for two children and to replace broken items after the earthquakes. Judge Strettell said she had 29 previous theft and dishonesty charges, and was a recidivist thief”.

Thank you Judge Strettell. Another Judge who is starting to impose sentences that reflect public opinion.

I miss Philu, I think he was out harvesting his crop and hasn’t been heard from since. Maybe he hooked up with Nandor at the Mana launch. Funny the way Willie Jackson just about tripped over dodging the cameras. Matt McCarten looked kind of serious, probably wondering wtf am I doing here. All the ingredients for a good comedy show were there.

I initiated the following petition, signed by 40 Water Pressure Group members which resulted in the successful Local Government and Environment Select Committee investigation into the rort of Metrowater ‘Charitable Payments’ – which were ruled ‘unacceptable’, and eventually stopped.

In order to prevent the proposed 4.9% Auckland Council rate increase – first the ‘books’ must be open – then through ‘line-by-line’ accounting, expenditure on consultants and private contractors can be properly reviewed, then reduced.

FYI – to avoid a 4.9% Auckland Council rate increase would require savings to be found of $62 million – which just so happens to be EXACTLY the same amount that Auckland City Council spent on consultants in the 2008 – 2009 financial year.

Given my proven track record – it is my considered opinion that I can help ensure Auckland Council ‘books’ are
open – to help ensure savings are made by cutting back expenditure on consultants and private contractors.

Presented to the House of Representatives

Conclusion
Our detailed examination of the petition has revealed some significant concerns about the use of charitable payments as a source of revenue for Auckland City Council. We consider that our report will serve to bring these concerns to the attention of the council, and the public. Therefore, having examined all the relevant facts, we do not endorse the petitioner’s call for a commission of inquiry.

Summary of conclusions
• We consider Auckland City Council’s description of the price rises for Metrowater customers as “modest” and “small” in the Statement of Proposal to have been misleading and to have led to the anxiety and concerns behind the petition.

• We consider that the scale of the charitable payments engineered by the city council from Metrowater undermined the intent of the constitution of Metrowater when it was established by the council. The council should have revised the constitution rather than abusing the provisions providing for charitable payments. We consider that Metrowater’s constitution should be amended anyway, in order to clarify this relationship.

• We consider that the council could have kept the public better informed about the charitable payments, the rise in water rates, and the decision made to direct the payment from Metrowater into upgrading Auckland’s stormwater system. In future the council should ensure that the public is better informed and that its decision- making process is transparent.

• We note, however, the advice that the council and Metrowater acted within the terms of Metrowater’s constitution and the letter of the law, but we consider it unwise for a public body to stretch the charitable payments provisions so far, and this undermined the public’s trust in this local authority.

• We consider that the use of charitable payments in this way, and to this extent, is not best practice, and emphasise our concern that it should not be adopted by other local authorities.

• We strongly advise Auckland City Council to reconsider its requirement for charitable payments from Metrowater in the years 2007 to 2017.

Roll on the Howick Ward Election at the end of the month – simply because the electioneering from this troll will come to a screaming halt when she is rejected / thumped by the voters within the Ward.

If the Botany By-Election is a any indication of her ‘popularity’ within this area, she can expect to again poll around the same levels as the informal votes / Pirate Party of NZ etc.

Her ‘track record’ can be expected to hold its current course – REEF AHEAD!

In the meantime, a little squirt of CRC on the mouse wheel will help skip past the blog blight’s electioneering posts.

“THE $UPERCITY = SUPER RIP OFF!”
“CUT OUT THE CONTRACTORS!”

You might note that the 128 votes I received in the Botany by-election didn’t cause my advocacy on the issues to come to a ‘screaming halt’?

Quite the opposite in fact.
