Goff struggling to attract the numbers

July 15th, 2011 at 2:52 pm by Jadis

Labour List MP Sue Moroney has been tweeting excitedly about the crowd who attended a public meeting today with Hon Phil Goff:

Before getting too excited, Sue should really ask around to see how many people turned up to last week’s public meeting with Hon John Key.  Even going by the Waikato Times numbers there were twice as many people who turned out on a stormy night for a Q and A session with the PM.  Actual numbers attending the PM’s public meeting were more than 300.
Surely today was the best timing  for Hon Phil Goff.  He is at his peak.
  • It is the day after his and Labour’s big tax package announcement
  • It is a beautiful sunny day in Hamilton
But Phil and his local List MP could only attract 100 people.  It’s a hard road to the election for Goff.

    Sunny day in Hamilton?
The sun lasts for twelve minutes. Then the rain comes down again. Year to date rain is about 64% above the year to date average. Another week of this crap and there could be some serious impact on dairy production. My golf course has been closed for a longer period than any other time in the past eighteen years. Bloody wet.

Goof would be happy with that I think, getting 1/3 the numbers that Key did!!

Tauhei – the odd sun shower but today is a delight compared to last Thursday when the PM was in town.

14, 15, 16 National Party supporters turning up for one last look at Goff in the flesh before he gets rolled.

That’s 16% of the crowd right there…almost impossible to get under 100 people I think?

You can’t compare an evening meeting with a daytime event when everyone’s at work…but then I guess those who are at work aren’t Phil’s target market!

No, no, it says *over* 100 people. 10,000 people is over 100, maybe that’s what they meant.

Ms Moroney works for Labour and so presumably defines truth as whatever gets her elected. So by “over 100″ she means about 50.

On current polling about 29 were Labour supporters but since it was P. G. then only about seven of them assuming Phil still supports himself.

    Then again Ms Moroney?

Nice piece of spin there David Farrar but even if Key is capable of attracting 300 people you might want to ask him to grow two things rather than just relying on being a populist smile and wave style Prime Minister who gets fuck all done. Hey look at me, I’m John Key, if I ignore my principles and do what is truly needed to save NZ’s shitty economy I can pack meeting halls just as long as I don’t offend anyone!

300 turning up to hear the NZ PM, who hasn’t fronted a public meeting in Hamilton in almost 3 years.. and 300 is good? This tells me the NZ public are disengaged and disinterested. Trying to make 100 sound desperately low by way of comparison is a good lesson in the stupidity of relativism

Seriously big bruv, you need serious help. Learn to spell of thick shit ( you’re probably a drunkard). Hell what a hateful insane crackpot. I am employed in the mental health business and you must have at least 200 d4j voodoo dolls which can only explain your deranged infatuation with him. Go away and stick pins in them all. Shit I bet you live a very sad life. I AM NOT d4j.
