IMHO the order of the 3 Davids that will be most benefical to we of the RIGHT are

    1. David C. Smart arse doesnt connect with the ordinary folk like JK

    2. David P. Bland and boring charisma of a newt.

    3. David S. new but has a good history and could develop a personality necessary to do the job.

So with either of 1 or 2 we are set for 2014 at least. Winston will cause further havoc and pick up more of the grumpy baby boomers as they age.

I disagree. Key promised surpluses in 2014/2015. That’s very optimistic and probably won’t happen. So, if Labour can cobble together some economic credibility by 2014, they can attack National on their strong suit. I think Cunliffe has the best chance of doing that, even if he isn’t that likeable.

Better that Cunliffe fires the shots as finance spokesman and leaves the leadership to someone with more public appeal.

I expect it is very hilarious for the in crowd inside the beltway but the peasants who labour to keep them in the style to which they are entitled are probably to dense to get it – that is why they are peasants

I hope Silent T gets the nod but I doubt he will.

The next year is going to be interesting to see which way Winston flops and if Key will soften his stance toward him.

As somebody who never wants to see another Labour government I can honestly say that I really hope Labour do not pick David Shearer.

Both Cunliffe and Parker will not connect with the people, both are seen as smug and as part of the Klark legacy/government.

Shearer is a guy who could and would connect with the public, he might even get back Trotters ‘Waitakere’ man, Shearer could even get enough support among the voting public to win the next election.

I loved the description that Claire Trevett used in the Herald this morning; she described Cunliffe as “vainglorious” and Parker as “bland”. Which, for Labour, is the lesser of two evils?

Now Goff has announced his December 13 resignation (why not immediately?) he must surely be regretting the nasty, personal attacks he made on John Key. I always had a lot of time for him when he was Minister of Education (I still remember his fervent selling of student loans) but the first time he shouted ‘liar’ I lost all respect for him.

He and Trevor Mallard lost the election and took their party to a historic defeat. No-one, except the Left, likes a nasty party or a negative campaign.

No wonder John Key was bored to sobs having to debate with him. That dreadful harsh, droning voice.

I think the joke is that Cunliffe is so unpopular that Ross Robertson gave him an explanation that is patently untrue.

    Labour MPs supported gang associates

“It’s simply extraordinary that any MP would involve themselves in a case against the Crown,” said Heatley.
