Net migration from Australia grows

The latest monthly data is here.

In the last year 25,180 people moved from Australia to NZ. In 2008 that number was 13,120.

In the last year 24,570 people moved from NZ to Australia. In 2008 that number was 48,880.

So net migration for the last year has been an inflow to NZ of 610. In 2008 it was an outflow of 35,760.

So twice as many Aussies moving to NZ, and half the number of Kiwis leaving to Australia.
