    If the river floods we will be able to sue it via its legal representatives the local IWI. It will need to comply with the health and saftey regulations to protect swimmers at all times and be prosecuted if someone drowns.     Yup, the Left have a history of this. Back in 2006 they made the film Death of a President in which Bush is assassinated. The film even won an award at the Toronto film festival. If a film had been made about Obama being assassinated there would have been a HUGE outcry and riots in the streets.
    
    That is the difference between left and right. As Ann Coulter told Joy Behar, a liberal can easily go and visit a conservative campus and not have to take along a bodyguard; not so the other way around. Any conservative speaker visiting a liberal campus needs bodyguards to keep safe.

TVNZ the purveyors of half baked news. Last night on their “news scoop”.which they sucked off MSNBC ,a report about Donald Trumps tax returns. The cue news reader was actually salivating on the revealed tasx return ,and denigrating Donald Trump and the tax return. Dellow and his TVNZ deliberately mislaid the viewers by providing half of the story. He ommitted that Donal Trump had paid more tax than MSNBC, BARACK OBAMA,BERNIE SANDERS, the socialist. Surely if a taxpayer owned TVNZ, only tell a small part of a huge story,and sets out to mislay its viewers,one should surely ask for a please explain,or is the Lie-bour/Green Party controlled TVNZ news room out of bounds for an inquiry.

  It’s a week off school and they’ll probably have to pick up some rubbish as well. I expect they’ll survive the experience.
  
  But I’m not really sure why the school thinks it can can punish students for perfectly legal conduct outside school time. It would been more effective to issue a public statement naming the students and condemning their remarks, while pointing out that freedom of expression means that no direct punishment is possible.

      How times have changed (and how the entitlement has grown)!! These individuals would never have survived the old ‘Six O’clock news’ routine common during the Vietnam era. The consisted of catching ‘Red-eye Commercial flight from LA on a Thursday evening, arriving in Saigon on Friday morning, followed by a Friday and Saturday interviewing people and compiling the report, before flying home Sunday evening to arrive in time for Monday’s 6 pm news broadcast’. Twelve hours on a commercial flight was standard fare for all and any Journalist / TV Reporter worthy of the name..

I reckon The Donald leaked that 2005 tax return because it was the “best” return he had in terms of him paying about the right tax. It would be interesting to see his tax returns from 2006 on.
I understand he didn’t have to pay any tax for quite a few years prior to 2005 because of an almost billion dollar loss earlier.

  Here’s what the weasily Treaty Minister Finlayson said in his statement about the new “entity” for the W(h)anganui river:
  
  The legislation will establish a new legal framework for the Whanganui River, Te Awa Tupua, which recognises the river as an indivisible and living whole from the mountains to the sea. Te Awa Tupua will have its own legal identity with all the corresponding rights, duties and liabilities of a legal person.
  
  The legislation Te Awa Tupua (Whanganui River Claims Settlement Bill) includes this:
  
  Te Awa Tupua is an indivisible and living whole, comprising the Whanganui River from the mountains to the sea, incorporating all its physical and metaphysical elements.
  
  To ascribe human or corporate-equivalent status to a river is chicanery.
  
  Then we have clause 14, which includes:
  
  Te Awa Tupua is a legal person and has all the rights, powers, duties, and liabilities of a legal person.
  
  It’s bullshit by Finlayson, the man who as a lawyer negotiated the sweetheart settlement for Ngai Tahu then as Treaty Minister signed the top-up he had negotiated.
  
  My guess is it’s an illusion designed to:
  
  1. Impress traditional Maori. Finlayson is conning them that a Western law can encompass metaphysical elements.
  
  2. Show Maori, fellow lawyers, and ultra-liberal whites, how clever Finlayson is. A conjurer’s sense of pride.

  Friends of mine owned a boat like this once, it could do 7 knots or 13km/h on a good day with a tail wind, and even in the still waters of the Marlborough sounds they had to run the bilge pump every day to drain out all the water that constantly seeped in through and between the old wooden boards.

I am wondering what it must be like for Andrew Little to see all those hundreds of people that turn out to his meetings all round our Country that he mention in in leading the first debate after Question Time in Parliament yesterday. All these people that front him complaining about Housing, Health , Education, Crime and Unemployment that are the major issues for NZ today.So being as popular as Andrew is then surely he must have a couple of dozen Journalist following him as he is so sort after by the public to fix the inequality that happening in NZ at this present time. It is strange to see a Leader of the Opposition so popular with the people when only on 7% in the preferred PM Poll.

  Councillors and council bureaucrats are killing any chance of the centre of city reviving as a business centre by instituting snail speed limits, by threatening to remove all street parking, and by orienting streets towards cyclists and pedestrians. They don’t give a stuff about central businesses and their employees, unless they are cyclists.
  
  The council seems intent on ethnic cleansing its great, Victorian botanical gardens with their magnificent specimens of trees native to scores of countries. Flax and monotone green native trees seem to be the preference.
  
  The council seems set on building a big central library edifice for the best part of $100 million when Christchurch people show they like suburban libraries, and when the rise of digital books may make redundant big, grandiose buildings for central libraries.
  
  The council is hanging on to full ownership of its assets like the port, rather than trying to leverage them for capital for the rebuild.
  
  The city has a plethora of pot holes that are wrecking wheels as well as suspensions.
  
  Raf Manji, as a councillor, hasn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of beating Gerry Brownlee for the Ilam Parliamentary seat.

    Maybe, maybe not. Labour don’t seem to take the electorate seriously. Their last few candidates have all been nobodies who don’t seem to have done any campaigning other than sticking circulars in people’s letterboxes. Gerry has at least campaigned – doing street corner meetings etc.
    
    This time around Labour have selected someone whose name seems slightly familiar but in a have-I-heard-of-him-before-or-am-I-Just-confusing-him-with-some-actor kind of way.
    
    I’m guessing that Manji will come second, or a close third.

Here’s my take on the Dutch elections.

A good showing for Geert Wilders increasing his position as the premier Nationalist party in the Netherlands. Both the Center right and Center left were given a serious hiding with the Dutch Labor party in particular suffering a sever mauling from left wing populist parties, most commentators seem to ignore this.

A good win overall for The Right in the Netherlands but no coup de grace delivered to the pro EU parties.

  Labour suffered by association with the governing coalition and austerity policies – thus other left wing parties gained in support.
  
  For the same reason Rutte’s ruling party also lost support.

Dutch election. At 93.5% of votes counted, Rutte’s VVD to win 33 seats, Wilders’ PVV 20 seats, V66 and CDA tie for 19.

Labor (the main coalition party) on target for 9 seats, down from 38.. a total spanking.

The other thing I noticed was the notoriously accurate Dutch exit polls initially had Wilders’ at 18 seats, but he looks to take 20, up from 15 in 2012.

  Rutte has lost seats from 41 to 33 .His governing coalition partner is all but wiped out , whil;e Wilders’ is now the second largest party in parliament and increased seats from 15 to 20.
  
  The electorate have short memories , at the height of the so called migrant crisis in 2016 polls indicate he’d have cleaned up. It won’t be long before another Muslim crisis comes along. It’ll be interesting to see if the Euro elites are still keen on Turkish membership . “I do not buy the notion that history repeats or even rhymes. Instead, I am far more partial to the aphorism attributed to Nixon era economist and philosopher, Herb Stein, who said that any trend which is unsustainable tends to stop.

What is stopping, more or less today, is the 30-year aberration of financial policy that began during the October 1987 stock market meltdown. During the ensuing panic is when the lapsed goldbug, Alan Greenspan, discovered the printing press in the basement of the Eccles Building. Thereafter he deployed it aggressively to defeat free market capitalism. What basically happened was that the laws of economics were suspended until further notice. But the trend that is now coming to its appointed stop.

That notice is now being given by both the fiscal and monetary branches of the state. That is to say, the Fed is not merely raising rates belatedly by 25 basis points today; it’s also signalling that the insane run of balance sheet expansion is over and done.

Likewise, at the end of business today, the public debt limit freezes in at the cusp of $20 trillion. The fact that the Fed’s printing press is on idle and the fiscal procedures of the Imperial City are approaching paralysis and chaos means that the era of free fiscal lunches is coming to a close, as well.

It’s not going to be easy to get a majority to raise the debt ceiling by anything near what the market is expecting today. Among other things that means that Donald Trump can’t be the second coming of Ronald Reagan- even as he advocates a worse brew of tax cutting, defense spending and domestic largesse than the Gipper even remotely imagined.

Today’s circumstances compare in no way to where we were in 1981 when my old boss Ronald Reagan took office. I had the role of budget director at that time.

We’re in a fiscal trap much deeper than 1981 or even 2000 or 2008. By fiscal trap I mean $20 trillion of debt. We’ve got 15 trillion more in the pipeline for the next 10 years if you look at it honestly and soberly, adding to the national debt based on policy that’s built in today. That’s before one dime of stimulus, infrastructure spending, tax cuts, or anything else Trump is talking about.

Therefore, to look at Trump as the second coming of Ronald Reagan, that there’s going to be a huge tax cut, that the economy is going to take off within a short period of time is fantasy. None of that will happen. We’re not going to get a huge fiscal stimulus.

We’re going to get a fiscal bloodbath that will basically shut the system down, create a massive breakdown of confidence in the markets, and therefore, the bond bubble, the stock bubble, and everything else. It will all come tumbling down in 2017.

I believe the Fed is out of dry powder to reinflate the bubble this time around. And no bail out will be coming when this bubble collapses. Everyone is putting great hope that the baton will be handed off to the fiscal authorities. But it won’t happen. Reagan and Greenspan sowed the wind; the hapless and clueless Donald Trump will be soon be reaping the whirlwind.

As of March 10, the U.S. Treasury was down to just $30 billion of cash- compared to the $382 billion hoard Trump inherited on January 20. That means it has burned through $350 billion of cash in just 50 days- or $7 billion per day counting weekends and Valentines Day! Indeed, it puts you in mind of how Earnest Hemingway’s character famously described his route to bankruptcy. That is, it came slowly at first, and then all of a sudden.

The Fed is rising rates in the face of a 0.9% first quarter growth forecast from the Fed’s Atlanta branch. st 0.9 percent. If that projection turns out to be accurate, this will be the weakest quarter of economic growth during which rates were hiked in 37 years.

Once a person recognises the dissonance they suffer under they come into conflict, and real lefties, genuine not puppet lefties, reach for the heart, whereas conservatives reach for the mind when it arises, as do fake lefties (because that’s where fake lefties were based all the time and it’s where real conservatives always [think] they’re based).
        
        And it’s when the mind wins and becomes free but with the heart intact, you get people like us. But when one or the other wins but dominates or even destroys the other, you get the sheeple.

        The reason people attach themselves so passionately to a “left” or a “right” team is because their most natural loyalties have been relentlessly beaten out of them day after day, month after month, year after year, decade after decade.
        
        Humans are simple creatures – at our deepest level, we want a sense of belonging and to be part of something bigger. As we’re told all of the white race is the root of all evils and we should feel no solidarity at all because “race is just a construct”, people go looking for belonging as part of a political tribe. Instead of supporting their brethren through thick and thin, we witness people willing to die in a ditch to support “their team” (PS: that is why our rulers promote sport so heavily as an outlet for tribal passion – it’s OK to have loyalty to Corporate machines like the All Blacks, Manchester United or the Detroit Cowboys)
        
        Initially, Marx & his fellow Jews started to split us up by creating division between “the proletariat” and “the bourgeois”. As time progressed, we then had ~~Bettye Naomi Goldstein~~ Betty Friedan and the Feminine Mystique along with the likes of Freud promote division between the sexes. Central banking created division between the generations while those behind mass immigration created division not just between races but within as well. No we are onto even more absurd forms of division like transgenderism and such nonsense…. all because showing any affinity with ones race is the most evil thing in the world – so called RACISM
        
        Meanwhile, flicking across the the Jewish Chronicle, all I read about is stories from the diaspora with hardly a mention of starving Africans or pitiful refugees wanting to move somewhere else.

        1. dad4justice court ordered therapist diagnosed his anger issues as being caused by gender identity disorder (GID)
        
        2. dad4justice broke down and admitted he felt like a woman trapped in a weedy pale little mans body.
        
        3. He is now booked in for taxpayer funded gender reassignment.

  He’s a negotiator. Drug prices are unreasonable compared to Canada. What he should do of course is look at our model, then he’d do Canadians like a dinner. Some of the celebs who left after he was elected might even want to come back.
  
  Of course Big Pharma would have an issue, but hopefully his lobbying killzone will deal to most of those bastards.

“Champferty” that’s a new legal word to most of us.

It is, or is alleged to be, part of a case seeking up to a billion dollars against the NZ arm of the international accounting firm PwC.

It arises from the corpse of controversial Christchurch property developer David Henderson’s group of companies that went bust.
A firm seems to have bought into the row, financing lawyers in return for a share of the possible settlement.

David Henderson is a pal of Rodney Hide, and was a helpful friend of the ACT Party in Christchurch.

  The company that bought into the action in which PwC is caught, SPF No 10, is owned ultimately by BG Litigation Ltd, which in turn is owned by Aucklander Phillip Samuel Newland.
  
  Bruce Sheppard, the Auckland accountant who until fairly recently was well known as a shareholder advocate, is a director of LPF Group Ltd, which is owned by BG Litigation and in turn owns SPF No 10.

    An article from the Hooerald in 2010 gives some of the background of Phillip Newland. The report says Eric Watson recruited Newland in America.
    
    It includes this:
    
    Watson had headhunted Newland, a lawyer and investment company manager, from New York in 2000 to manage his real estate portfolio, but after the tech wreck he appointed Newland in 2001 to run Cullen, the umbrella company for his many investments. Among Newland’s tasks was improving the governance of Watson’s companies, which had earned something of a wild west tag.
