That looks familiar

I read the Sunday Star-Times main articles online, but later that day picked up a copy of the actual newspaper. On the letters page I saw a huge quarter page photo of Prince Charles and Camilla. That reminded me of something so I read the caption – “Would we rather have King Charles III and Queen Camilla as sovereigns of New Zealand?”

Suddenly I recall that I used that line in a letter to the editor I had fogotten about. Sure enough it was underneath the photo.

It was one of my very very few letters to the editor in the last decade. I tried to avoid them while working at Parliament in case it got me into trouble with the employers. Now I’m a free man I might crank them up again.

People are allowed to shoot me though if they ever hear me on talkback radio.
