$30 million thanks Dad

There should be outrage over this. The daughter of the Te Wananga o Aotearoa CEO has made about $30 million through contracts with the wananga.

This is all ultimately taxpayer money – yours and mine.

Personally I don’t think anyone should be making $30 million out of taxpayer funded tertiary education contracts. You are paying way too much for the service if they are. But especially when your Daddy is the CEO, it is just outraegous.

Steve Maharey has a lot to answer for. This happened on his watch, and the unprecedented growth in funding to the wananaga should have rung warning bells. Instead of restricting its growth, they did the opposite and exempted it from the caps placed on other institutions.
