A new level of apology

Clark has mastered the art of not apologising by saying she regrets if anyone was offended by comments etc. A typical non-apology.

However Hodgson has gone one better. The NZPA headline is “Hodgson apologises over election incident” yet we read in the story “he would not be tendering a personal apology”.

Huh so how is that an apology. Oh I see he said “he was sorry for misjudging Mrs Flannagan’s intentions”.

As anyone of IQ above 50 knows he did not misjudge her intentions. He knew Mrs Flannagan’s intention was to wave a sign up so the media would see it. He grabbed her to stop her doing that, and then made up a nonsense story about how he though she could somehow stretch 15 feet past the Police and media scrum to whack the PM with a piece of paper.

Wouldn’t it be nice just to have one day someone say “I made a mistake. I’m sorry for it, and I don’t intend to do it again”.
