NZUSA on sexist advertising

Okay what does the NZ University Students’ Association (NZUSA) have to do with sexist advertising?

Give Up?

Yeah well I don’t know either. So why is the NZUSA Co-President talking about how the Nutrigrain ad which has Nutrigrain-fed teenage boy lifting the couch so his mother can vacuum underneath, is sexist advertising?

NZUSA is largely funded by compulsory levies. Most of the student associations that belong to it have compulsory membership. Now don’t you think the average student would rather NZUSA is working on you know student and tertiary education issues, rather than Nutrigrain ads!

But good to know the NZUSA Co-President is also concerned about the Tui ad which says “Men look good in speedos – yeah right” as this is objectifying men and making us feel awkward about our bodies.

Where would we be without NZUSA to look out for us!
