After suggesting yesterday that John Key was responsible for fluctuations in the American stock market, he then went on to say:

Are any other Irishmen taking offence at that poster at The Standard who’s pretending to be Irish? I don’t know if “IrishBill” is meant to be a parody of Bill English, but let me tell you something for free: we Irish are a hard drinking, hard fighting, working class, God-fearing kin. No true Irishman (sorry, Irishperson) would be caught dead apologising for this pantywaist, feminised, handwringing, politically-correct, feeble excuse for a “Labour” Party; a party that’s fighting this election with the cattiness and venom of high school girls. When Michael Cullen is the bitchiest bitch on a front bench of middle-aged harridans who were never picked for the dance, you know you got problems. Labour’s a middle-class party of girly men and shrill harpies forced into “alternate lifestyles” by natural selection. They represent no-one but themselves … and certainly not the Irish.

Stick with free speech on here, please.

There is no doubt in my mind that PhilU is a bother (to be polite) but like everyone else in NZ he does have the right of speech. I almost never agree wit his opinions (there has been an occasion I must admit), however, I will defend to the end his right to express then as long as he does so without slander or libel. Your quite reasonable rules regarding acceptable behaviour have merit, and the punishments for breach appropriate, and should, of course, continue to apply.

no robotnik..i’m pumping..!

up at 5.30 am..a brace of good stories up on whoar..

and i have just had my (vegan) super-energy breakfast..and am buzzing..

(thanks for asking..!..)

(large wholegrain porridge..(not/never that (foul) glucky muck..)

i banana

raisins

i apple

pinch of salt..

put one handful (and a bit) of big porridge flakes..

..one handful of raisins

1/2 chopped apple + half chopped banana..

and pinch of salt..into saucepan..

cover with water.

bring to boil..turn down very low..stir..

..the mix will thicken..

when all the water is gone..and everything is glucking together nicely..pour into a plate..

add other half chopped apple + banana..stir..

sprinkle soft brown sugar over the top..and leave to let that sugar melt to a brown runny liquid..

..and wait for the mix to ‘set’..

add whatever you desire..(berries are nice..the tart and the sweet go together well…)

and using your spoon..puncture holes in the set-mix..

..and drizzle in vanilla flavoured soymilk..

…and then take your taste-buds on a treat…

(this has been a vegan public service announcement..)

I think DPF has said before that whinging on the threads will get you nowhere – he doesn’t get time to read them all. E-mail him if you have a complaint. As for free speech – that applies in public spaces. This isn’t, it is owned by DPF. He makes the rules.

ACT is polling so low because Rodney lost his way. He’s getting it back, but only slowly. He needs to do better. They’ll be up a bit on election day – 3-4 MPs.

PhilU – if your version of a meltdown and the end of times as we know them is a 4% drop on the US stock market, then I think you need to get out more.

PhilU, the day I get my financial advice from you will be a cold day in hell. Markets go up, markets go down. It doesn’t really impact me all that much. If markets were all a one way street then there wouldn’t be such a thing as “risk v’s reward”. My view is that, once again, the stupid people have been caught out with low quality investments because they chased maximum return and forgot about that risk thing.

As for your Nostradamus like accuracy – care to remind me what you predicted the oil price would do this year? I think I predicted it would drop after the Olympics (the Chinese were stockpiling the stuff). I seem to recall you predicting the end of the world.

Philu, while you’re giving out economics advice, have you ever noticed the fact that we survived all of the last depressions we’ve had? I’m just not sure what point you’re trying to make. You just seem to be a little, nay a lot, like chicken little.

True capitalists know that markets go up and down. Personally I’m quite happy that some of these bigger firms have gone under as I had long thought that they’d got detached from the real market place. Now the market is saying agreeing with my hypothesis. This is a world of opportunities and here is a great big one.

Its not my fault your living on WINZ handouts and have not prepared for the future.
And sorry, but investing in cow juice an’t my thing.
The outlook for diversified commodities however is looking better than it has in years. Philu, if you do have any spare cash to invest for the future (although on a WINZ benefit you really shouldn’t have should you?) you can’t go past commodities and of course NZ and international govt bonds and nice quiet term deposits in NZ banks are always good places to put profits.

Oh I get it now, this is a piece of performance art. Somewhere in a large public art gallery there is bank of video displays with these posts and the responses to them displayed. After only five days of the campaign, I am starting to feel much more confident of a crushing National victory.

My fear was that Labour would run an incredibly clever, albeit dirty, campaign, based on a single line that Key was not fit/ready to be PM. They would have carefully drafted lines ready for all their front bench and it would be day-in, day-out attacks that forced Key and National onto the defensive and into making silly mistakes.

They clearly are running a dirty campaign, based on a single line that Key was not fit/ready to be PM. But it is anything but clever.

Cullen yesterday was silly and pathetic. All Key had to say was that Cullen was silly and pathetic, which he did.

Clark today was also silly and pathetic. All she really managed to do was suggest that the Kiwi forces are grossly incompetent compared to their Australian counterparts.

Plus she continues to defy logic by refusing to sack Peters.

If this is all the great, professional Labour Party has, then bring it on!!

An Observation.

Recently I have seen a number of posters on here with very low post-counts. The groundswell is growing and the overwhelming sense I get is that most of these new posters are very disaffected with the government and tend to support the swing to the Nats and ACT (Redbaiter-baiter excluded 😉 ).

November 8 is going to be a long night folks, remembering the All Blacks play Scotland that night as well!

I thought it quite hypocritical that someone who enforces such an outrageous level of moderation on your blog, [ example- “Comment deleted for being pointless trolling. Bryan Spondre Blog Producer”] can go to someone else’s blog and carry on in such a disgraceful manner.

I guess anyone truly concerned with behavioural standards in the blogosphere might care about such arrogant deceit and hypocrisy. However, given your predilection for making excuses for perpetrators, I can’t see you issuing any apology, (and I don’t think many readers would be surprised by that either.)

Good to see that Lefties are still all upset at the imminent reality that McCain is about to be elected the next president of the US.

Their latest hollow shrills are that Obama is somehow more competent economically to lead the US. What a laugh. What’s Obama’s economic policy other than the usual left solution of tax and spend, government knows best.
