Greens pick up a seat from National on specials

As in the last election (and maybe 2008), the Greens have picked up a seat on specials, at the expense of National. This means Maureen Pugh drops off and Steffan Browing is back in.

National no longer has a majority, with 60 seats. This gives ACT and/or United Future the balance of power. Basically National will need one vote off another party to pass laws. This may give ACT some greater leverage.

This shows the votes and percentages for the final results, the provisional results, the specials and a comparison to 2011. National and NZ First did less well on specials, and Labour and Greens relatively better.
