  Hopefully those in the MSM that promoted “Jacindamania” last year (ignoring her inexperience and lack of Parliamentary effectiveness and only considering her earnestness and feelz good factor – eg Fairfax’s Tracy Watkins, TV3’s Patrick Gower, all of TVNZ’s political reporters etc), have come to the stark conclusion that Jacinda is only a figurehead for the Labour Party as it is actually run and led by its Party President and Executive. As events in the last few weeks have clearly demonstrated.
  
  For those so-called journalists I hope they ponder what this really means both for their hero Jacinda and the Labour Party as a whole, then what it really means for the future survivability of this unusual coalition governing arrangement, when as we know there will be more to come once Jacinda steps down to have her baby.
  
  Does the Labour Party Executive really want Winston as PM, Kelvin as Deputy still (or will they be plotting something else? I mean can anyone imagine Kelvin as Deputy still? Where’s Andrew Little going to be in the scheme of things)? How will Winston as PM affect Labour’s position with the Greens (who aren’t exactly NZF’s biggest fans)? What plots and schemes will start to see the light of day … before not too long I suspect as time is rapidly counting down! Will the secret Lab/NZF coalition document be “amended”, if so, how will Winnie take it?

    Some excellent points niggly.
    Without going in to too much detail and history (there is more than one thesis in this, but I would be very interested to read the one written by HDPA for a start) , I would suggest that JA is an accidental PM.
    And there are a LOT of people in the Labour Party (mostly parliamentary and executive, not grass-roots) that have serious some problems with that. Combine that with the very real power struggles that have plagued Labour since Clark ejected herself after defeat.
    I will say it yet again, this government will not last a full-term – actually I think one year might be a stretch now.
    Just to add, and slightly off-topic, I think the standard of debate and commentary on KiwiBlog has lifted substantially in the last 2-3 months.

Ali Mau, you are a waste of space. MetooNZ, you are a fraud. Ja-sin-da, it took you all of four months to execute corruption.

New Zealand, Kiwibloggers, do not tolerate this utterly disgraceful and politically-corrupt minimisation of sexual crime.

No other male in New Zealand known to have four-times placed a hand down the pants of 16-year-olds, would get such criminal leniency. Our female Prime Minister would have been seething about any other male having committed similar crimes. Our fraud of a female PM is leading the hushing up of these sexual crimes. This is nothing less than “impeachable” conduct from a PM.

  Yes, we are seeing more strikes than we did under National (and no doubt will see more now that the unions have seen that they can flex their muscles), but I suspect our dear leader will weasel out of this by saying that her statement referred to national strikes and these are all local ones.       Actually, some of the Auckland bus drivers went on strike in 2016. And the Ports of Auckland had a big one in about ?2012.

    The NZ economy is in good shape relative to many others. The Auckland skyline shows many cranes on numerous construction projects. Housing prices are at an all-time high and people are feeling wealthy. Times are good.
    The last recession was over a generation ago, in the late 1980s. No Chinese younger than 60 has ever known bad times as an adult. This is the party that just keeps on going.
    These good times mean that it will take a while for the coalition government’s management effects to be felt by the population. There is at least a couple of years of lag.

Jacinda Ardern sounded refreshingly open and honest when she took over the Labour leadership. She pledged to be relentlessly positive.

But gradually she has become far more practiced in avoiding saying anything of substance, especially when faced with difficult issues. She is now often absolutely positively vague.

We are in exactly the same position as our allies, we stood up in the Hague and avoided saying it was Russia. We have been clear in our statements on this that we’re avoiding saying it was Russia. We’ve made sure the UK is clear on our position as well that we’re avoiding saying it was Russia.

Will you consider sanctions?

That’s something that we’re avoiding saying.

You said that Values were going to be a driving force in how you make your decisions. Why’d you put Russia in the coalition agreement?

We’re still going to obey the letter of the sanctions. We can just work around them.

The point is that that’s not the same as taking a principled stand. The Nats wanted an FTA – it didn’t want to put it on hold but it did, because of the whole principled stand and Values thing. You on the other hand agreed in the coalition agreement to put it back on the table.

I have to correct you there. They put the FTA on ice and applied travel sanctions but there was still trade. No-one has said that we would not apply the sanctions, but we’ll do the still trading bit and put the FTA back in the oven. The coalition agreement says “striving towards”. Here this means we’re sort-of not really maybe reheating it. Because we stand alongside our partners.

So you’re not saying they’re completely off the table? Or maybe you are saying that?

Right now, I’m avoiding saying either way. Or both ways.

Winston’s staying all sorts of stuff that’s completely out of sync with you lot.

I would dispute that. The language has all involved double meanings so we can interpret it in a way that suits us and the Values we work around. Rather like the phrase “flying Emirates”. We have all consistently avoided saying Russia did it.

Winston’s been less hinty that it was the Russians than you.

At this point I would like to hint some more, without actually saying the Russians did it. That’s a simple statement of fact.

  I am certain she did not say “Corin, I’ve been very clear in avoiding saying it was Russia”. In fact on Q&A she said it could only have been Russia.
  
  Her difficulty is that she had to clean up after Winston. Hopefully they have both learnt on issues 0f this importance that NZ has to have a very clear message from the start.

Seems Goofy, his party mates/advisors & Winnie the Poo have got a problem. It appears with the help of Council officers that worked at obstructing a RNZ LGOIMA asking for the release of a report into moving the vehicle import business away from Auckland. No surprises, the report concluded that it was not a good idea to move this activity to Whangarei etc.

The crux of the problem the report is contrary to Goofy’s stance & they sat on the report at the time of last year’s election.

    …the railway line between Auckland & Whangarei.
    
    It is well known that for it to carry the volumes of freight traffic talked about, it needs upgrading. The condition of the line is so poor that NZTA/KiwiRail have removed the certification for the line to carry passengers north of Helensville (I found out a couple of weeks ago researching the use of the Silver Fern on the line). Reality the cost to upgrade the line will cost (current estimates) $1billion. I suppose it could be a use for Jones slush fund.
    
    Re. Northport v Auckland, they only have to look at history between Auck & Whangarei to find that the rail line was never favoured by businessmen between the two centres because of cost. When the line was opened it was found it was cheaper for a business to send goods to Auckland via Sydney. Says it all really, to think Bolger made Peters Treasurer.

        I’ve always said the UK & Ireland are circa the same size as NZ with 70mill v 4.5mill people & we delude ourselves that we what to do everything a G7 country does. Yet we’re half a world away from our original trading partners.
        
        As for UK rail, we do not want to copy their funding model – it is a way of laundering money from taxpayers/ratepayers into the pockets of the shareholders of the operating companies.       More like $250 million, and that includes extending to Marsden pint. The issue has been previously evaluated as costing about that. Basically the current route works. The track needs reballasting and relaying. Some tunnels need daylighting and the major tunnels needs the base lowered a bit. Some corners could be eased. Because rail is so narrow it does not require the level of civil engineering works as a major road requires.

        Wayne, with no disrepect to youself, but at a guess your figure of $250mill is an out of date number, or was just throwing ballast at the line & little else. A casual glance of the internet shows:
        1. Dave Gordon (Asset Manager KiwiRail) when addressing a Forum Northland seminar (4 Apr 2016) that the cost of getting the rail operational was somewhere between $700 to $1bill – this would depend on what is done. The amount of $240mill was the amount to get the line to the same standard as Hamilton to Tauranga. Reported on Stuff 6/04/2016
        
        Then as per RNZ, Shane Jones is reported on 27/10/2017, that the upgrade cost was $600 mill plus $200mill for the 20km link to Northport.
        
        I know that as of September 2017 the certification to carry passengers on the line was removed by KiwiRail & NZTA because it was deemed not safe enough.
        
        The cost price to lay track on available land is circa $1mill per km (current prices) excluding tunnels, bridges & signalling. I am told significant work is required right along the line in terms of ballast, bridges and tunnels. New signalling systems are also a nightmare because they need to be compliant with systems used in Auckland with the commuter trains.
        
        Electrification of the line shouldn’t be considered, because the cost would be prohibitive.

The whanau of the 4-month-old baby admitted to hospital last month with 16 fractures including broken ribs, cracked skull etc, are taking their right of silence and closed ranks. They are refusing to point the finger at the scum-bag coward responsible for this disgraceful crime.

All vulnerable members of society require special care for their protection but there is no member of our society that is more vulnerable than a very young tiny baby and this one has suffered since her birth with old injuries showing up once admitted to hospital. She is only 16 weeks old! The law needs to be changed so these cowards in these feral families must be held to account.

        Starboard, I currently care for 2 children of pakeha Asian descent. The mental, physical and emotional scars these kids bare were not done by any PI or Maori. They both were concerned about being placed into care with a Maori family. The boy repeatedly called kids at his school, nigger, black cunts and coconuts all of last year and I spent a lot of time collecting him from school.
        
        Had them now for nearly 10 months and the 12 yr old boy is just learning now to sleep with light off and no longer shits his pants. The girl who is only 9 no longer searches beastiality porn as she realises that this is not normal behaviour. Both are playing sports, getting counselling, and may one day be productive young adults.

Good question. The Wettex sponge will be thinner and more brightly colored than the kouya dofa (which will typically be a pale brown and a couple of cm thick).
Apart from that, there is very little to tell them apart. (The latter is a little easier to chew and swallow).

      Maybe we’ll see them towards the end of the year – 3 duplexes – so 6 dwellings.
      
      I understand government is looking at land at or near Meremere for the Auckland housing market – they have chosen to look in Waikato as they will save millions on council consent fees.

Kevin MacDonald has done an outstanding job explaining the situation we are in, how the West was and is being led to its destruction. Only by knowing who we are — our group’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as knowing which groups oppose us and understanding their approaches and objectives — can we work as efficiently as possible for our common interests in a time when the power of other groups has grown devastatingly strong.
        
        It is supremely moral to work for the interests of the West, and utterly immoral to support those who want to harm them. The West is unique, our Western peoples and cultures are unique and important — not only for ourselves but also for global development.         He was one of only 6 kids but both parents worked and the kids ran a bit wild.
        The difference between most white and “coloured” kids is that the latter are mostly raised with excessive violence which means they are more likely to use violence when committing crimes.

  Maggy, the real issue is that those who target the dairy owners dislike and have no respect for the Indian and Asian shop owners. Probably due that dairy owners are often new imports to NZ, or because they work hard but are seen to be making easy money.     The problem is a very significant number of young people who have no respect for anyone or anything.
    
    The majority have been raised by non-responsible parents, never held responsible for any of their actions by family, community or law and are now raising their own offspring exactly the same way.
    
    Just as blaming the price of cigarettes is wrong so is blaming the race and recent immigrant status of dairy owners.
    
    The problem is far deeper than that and can only be fixed by removing the cause from society.
    
    This means making life so bloody tough for the now three generations of scum that it becomes easier to conform to the requirements of an honest society than blame everything else for their own laziness and inaction.

    However I want to take more time before making a decision on the issue.
    Clearly we have failed in our duty of care…

Seems to me that we have a face to front the media, but the face never actually says anything. Whenever she is put on the spot over an issue, she either doesn’t know the answer, has to go away and start a discussion about the answer, or claim that the governments position is very clear and I don’t need to tell you about that !

A Prime Minister should be able to make the occasional call on an issue. There have been numerous issues over the last six months and we have had to call upon others to find a solution, because the PM is just too busy talking about it to be bothered taking any action, or committing to any action.

It’s no wonder Australia has dumped her from future planning discussions, they’ve has as much of a gutfull as we have !

Internet scamsters seem to be having a convention in Malaysia.

Got a fake email from “.MY” today purporting to be from Paypal, headed “account update,” and saying I had made a substantial purchase in Hong Kong, which I hadn’t.

The email said I had 24 hours to cancel the transaction by clicking on the address provided.

I guess these scum will take in one, or maybe two honest people, for every 100 scams they send out.

Oh Kate Hawkesby, your ‘gentle’ concern about abused children is noted, as is that of Dame Lesley Max.

Let’s put that into numbers. At 1 million children, that would be notifications of abuse, not abused children, of 250,000. Some of them will be part of the 1,500,000 victims of sexual assault. Tip of the iceberg indeed.

I can provide some answers though, directly and indirectly. Human beings ‘began’ anywhere from six to two million years ago; modern humans about 200,000 years. We’ve ‘evolved’, ‘civilised’, and ‘progressed’ to where the entire species is largely obsessed with who is fucking who, what, where, when, how, why, in what configuration, and for how long. Business, politics, science, medicine, education, entertainment … are all obsessed with it. There are annual parades, rainbows painted on roads, pedestrian signs, buildings configured to it, and wars being waged over it. But after all that time, there is no consensus that such contact should be based on respect and truly mutual agreement, acknowledging mental, emotional, and physical safety.

And there are no symbols painted on the road for victims of abuse. They are hidden, ‘for their own good’. The abusers are either ‘them’ or they’re themselves the victims of abuse and need to be protected as well. There’s no ‘naming and shaming’ of those who have ‘closed ranks’.

Likewise, we can discover the laws of the universe, explore space, transplant organs, create empires, philosophise and vote. But we can’t achieve the simple equation of people get up in the morning, provide for themselves and dependents during the day, go to bed at night – and repeat it reliably throughout one’s lifetime. Not even on the most basic level. Why? Because it’s worth billions and billions of dollars and satisfying to the ‘dirty side of human nature’, to let the collateral human damage go on.

Specifically? In days gone by (they’re not there now), I’ve had the response from a Labour politician that it’s not ‘fiscally responsible’ to deal with child abuse. I’ve had the response from a National politician at the same time, of a sweet, but derisive, smile with the comment, “Oh now REALLY, now how many of them actually die?” And on those terms, this child is not yet dead.

And the comment from a Maori radical that “You’ve had hundreds of years to learn from ‘your’ casualties. We have the right to learn from ours. There are always casualties in pursuit of a principle. And if you don’t allow ‘us’ to have our casualties, we’ll start shooting people.” And, boy, are Maori not committed to that. They’re really happy to see and tolerate the casualties for more leverage for more money, power, and privilege. But, like the Rainbow movement, they are just so ‘proud’ and everyone else must be too. Who cares about a four-month old with multiple fractures? It’s not like they can pop up in the MSM and tell their story, which the MSM wouldn’t tell anyway out of ‘sensitivity’.

But you can’t blame the abusers for ‘closing ranks’. It’s what everyone does, and as Barry Soper says, what else can you expect? It’s ‘realistic’. Politicians, business people, educators, black, white, brown, families – and always the MSM …. No-one wants anyone to know they’re ‘them’ – and they certainly don’t want the satisfaction of their appetites muted while they pursue their own ‘causes’.

So, the abusers want to go on abusing, and those with the power, privilege, and resources to stop it won’t and don’t even have it as a goal. In between you have some groups blaming them for their own victimisation, justifying it, or wailing futilely with varying levels of true distress – often just grateful it’s not them. And that includes ‘Jacinda’. Their answer is marketing spin.

Good on you for writing about it. Keep doing it. But really? Few people care for more than a moment. It has little in way of salacious opportunity and no hope of changing or fixing it. There’s lots of comfort to be found in alcohol, drugs, and sex. You are ‘uncomfortable’? A growing proportion of the population (with generational progression) are outright disturbed which is becoming the ‘norm’.

    That is so ludicrous. There is a ‘Police’ investigation because one brave victim, with some level of self-esteem, or their parents, made a complaint.
    
    The Labour Party did not refer it for investigation. The Labour Party did not even tell their parents. The Labour Party apparently believes this is all ‘normal teen behaviour’ and any objection to it is a political stunt and/or overly moralistic concern.
    
    The Labour Party apparently believes than an upset and intimidated child is entirely capable of, solely and alone, making a judgement about what to do to help themselves and what should happen to a perpetrator. It also believes it’s preferable (backed up by ‘professionals’) that these children should carry the whole thing, not only alone, but keeping it entirely secret from those who care about them and are the only people who can provide ongoing support. They get away with it because the victims are powerless children.
    
    Adults in the Labour Party and the wider society apparently believe that a perpetrator should be allowed to just be removed from the incident and go about their business.
    
    I watched, last night, the clip about:
    
    “Former employee Jessica Kereama says three years ago she told the commission to review its policy after it took six months to independently investigate her complaint. The complaint related to a senior colleague of hers in 2014.
    
    She drew their attention to two historical allegations of sexual abuse outside the commission, and an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate who’d since left. Ms Kereama wasn’t one of the victims and police weren’t involved.
    
    “It was four months of silence and that was very difficult,” she said. “I got to do an overnight trip with him, even though I’d raised very serious allegations.”
    
    Jessica Kereama is an adult. She looked, to me, like she was weepy. She’d definitely been put at risk, let alone the previous victims. And this was “three years ago she told the commission to review its policy after it took six months to independently investigate her complaint.”
    
    THREE YEARS and that was SIX MONTHS AFTER HER COMPLAINT and that was after MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS; in the HUMAN RIGHTS commission. The guy continued to operate all that time.
    
    Tell me, stephieboy, if she was saying the guy had shoved his hand down her pants and grabbed her genitals, would that be ‘normal’ behaviour? Mind you, that might be some of what he did to the others. Would the wider society be saying, “Well, men will be men. She needs to get over herself and all those others are just wowsers”?
    
    I know some of them really are saying that, hence the need to be ‘sensitive’ about the victims identities.
    
    But being brown, female, and weepy – she’s got a better chance of succeeding. Are you really suggesting that children at the Labour Party camp have her sort of strength and significance? Or their parents?

I sure hope the police show some balls, keep the investigation going and make an arrest, after all everyone present knows who the pervert is. I’ve got a terrible suspicion that just as in the Darren Hughes incident it will be dropped for lack of evidence (code for pressure brought to bear).

only a figurehead for the Labour Party,
wasn’t elected, 
pledged “zero suicides.”

In the circumstances I suppose whether the ‘mad’ equals ‘irate’ or ‘mentally ill’ is a matter of opinion.
Not opinion but fact, is that Jacinda Ardern is the Prime Minister of New Zealand. Hence the madness being flaunted.

Last night on Sunday there was an interview with an Australian man whose girlfriend fell to her death from their apartment under particularly suspicious circumstances a few years ago.
One is hesitant to point the bone at this character on the basis of a twenty minute hit piece on commercial TV, but it struck me the guy was extremely lucky to be free to walk the streets of Australia.
Apart from this particular incident investigators for the TV show came up with a list of women longer than your arm that he had had disturbing relationships with.
Despite all that he maintains his innocence and has been allowed to go about his daily life for years.

If the uproar here over the last week or so is anything to go by it’s clear the guy didn’t push the right buttons.

Just to augment Tess Nichol’s article, let me just say, all men are not rapists and a lot of them are also victims being twisted and distorted by predators, and not just from being assaulted.

I was 19 when a friend of mine was abused by someone in management. Her husband objected and she got fired. She came to me and I went to the union. They fought the case, with my help finding witnesses, all the while saying they could not protect any of us from the inevitable consequences. And they couldn’t and didn’t although the case was won. There was never any doubt about it if it went in front of a judge. I was treated to regular, vigorous harassment by several ‘management’ at a time and told I would never work again.

But while that was going on, unbeknownst to all the others, the man at the centre of it all was pleading with me to keep going to stop the culture and the pressure on him. He was not a NZer, nor from the Pacific. He could not ‘harass’ women in a civilised way, especially when he was grossly disturbed about doing it at all. He was under constant pressure to be part of the management ‘club’ and ‘culture’ of harassing women; probably his continued residence was dependent on it; and in constant danger from the potential results. All he wanted was to live respectably and in whatever peace he could find in his new country. He was getting married.

Inevitably I did not remain working there and I assume his unfortunate life went on – I certainly didn’t want to remain connected. A couple of years later, he killed himself, in a comparatively tortuous way.

It’s a pity his socially very ‘respectable’ and wealthy management and their friends, some of them government employees, didn’t suffer the same fate. But the culture continues, among both men and women, with victims in all genders. Men are much less likely to complain about it.

WTF? Just tuned into ZB, Andrew Dickens reports that PM Select Jacinda Ardern left an official state visit engagement (by the Indonesian President) in order to accept a Greenpeace petition to halt oil exploration (and extraction?) in/around NZ?!!!

Does anyone know whether there is actually a brain in Jacinda’s “air” head?

I mean so Jacinda wants to put out-of-work tens of thousands of people working and supporting the NZ oil industry, kill off the regions (particularly Taranaki), and make imported oil for cars and vehicles more expensive, causing extra financial stress especially for the low-waged and generally everyone due to increased freight charges to move goods to supermarkets and shops? What about the international emissions generated in importing oil products to NZ?

And to give the Greenpeace idiots some validity and respect? Tell you what I’ll start to give the Greenpeace idiots and our air-headed idiotic PM if they walked the talk and stopped using cars (and plastics, smartphone and clothes etc) and walked or biked everywhere!

The other thing that’s probably going on in Jacinda’s head is she’d rather not be associated too much with the visiting Indonesian President (think Papua) and slinking off to Greenpeace gives her a way out including maximum virtue signalling opportunities in solidarity with GP and “climate change”!

Look I’m as dubious about the visiting Indonesian President as most people (eg Papua, home grown terrorism, military build-up etc), but the facts are Jacinda is the PM and it is her job to meet official visitors – no matter who they are, if they are on an official state visit! If she doesn’t like that then why the hell is she still playing at being PM?

    I should tell you I’m from Scottish, Church of Christ stock. Lloyd Geering was friendly with my father’s parents, in Wellington.
    
    He was to marry my parents in 1960 but had to pull out for some reason – I must ask the old man to remind me of what that reason was.
    
    A lovely interview in my opinion – don’t agree with him on everything but nice to hear his current views on things and to know that, at 100, he is still very well spoken.

Dairies just about disappeared years ago, until people from a certain sub continent worked out that their whole family could work in them for nothing and hide all their sales from the IRD.
