      As you manifestly know nothing about the case beyond the results of your google search, let me inform you of story:
      
      Jeremy made a speech in 2015 speaking of undue influence of Jews in Great Britain. He was found not guilty by the Crown Prosecution Service and the case was dismissed.
      
      However, certain influential members of the Jewish community, most notably the Campaign Against Antisemitism, were incensed at the allegation that Jews exercise an undue level of influence within our society, and in an act of supreme folly have before the eyes of the Nation exercised a startling level of political influence, brow beating the CPS into changing its decision not to prosecute.
      
      We must wonder just how much political influence organised Jewry must have when they can, without presenting any new evidence, force a government body like the CPS to reverse a decision that has taken several months of intense consideration to reach?
      
      In an article on the Guardian website in March 2017, it was reported: “The Crown Prosecution Service is reconsidering whether to prosecute a far-right activist for alleged antisemitism on the eve of a highly unusual legal challenge to its decision to let the case drop”. This challenge was indeed ‘highly unusual’ as the Guardian journalist states, and one might suggest is proof if ever it was needed, that Jez Turner’s assertion that Jewish groups exercise great power and influence within our society is undeniably established as fact.

      Turner appears to be a deluded, hating, anti-Semitic bigot, but should he be in gaol for expressing those views?
      
      Robinson might well be a less than saintly figure, but should he be in gaol? Because of the lack of detail, I’m withholding immediate judgement on this one with some difficulty, but six hours from alleged offence to sentencing and a news blackout should make anyone suspicious about the state of liberty and the even-handed application of the law in the UK.

        Kiwi Dave: Tommy has repeatedly stated that he is not racist, just doesn’t want sharia law and islamism in the UK.
        
        About Tommy’s previous convictions: done and dusted. This arrest and 13 month sentence was unjustified, since he was only reporting on a finished trial (sentencing day) and couldn’t influence a jury. Plus he had no chance of a proper hearing and defence.
        
        The worst of it is the gag order. Even the idiotic Stephieboy should be able to see that gagging the media from reporting on Tommy’s arrest is bloody dangerous: you know, SB: Martin Niemöller: ‘first they came for…’ etc.

        The gag order at least has been lifted. Watch the infowars interview with Caolan Robertson who was in the court when Tommy was sentenced.

        The most important points I understand Caolan is to be making:
        
        1. A claim that the judge admitted he hadn’t watched the full livestream Tommy made, just a short section he based the whole sentence on.
        
        2. A claim that Tommy’s appointed lawyer informed the judge that Tommy had been attacked before and had received several credible threats on his life; thus that his life would be in danger in jail. Caolan seems to think that the judge didn’t respond, didn’t seem to care.
        
        3. A claim that the judge said that ‘freedom of speech comes with consequences’ in his opening statement and repeated it a couple of times. If this is true it is HUGE. [What consequences? Jail, murder? That’s not freedom of speech then, is it!]
        
        4. A claim that the judge acknowledged that Tommy’s suspended sentence was irrelevant – that Tommy would have received this new sentence anyway. [So much for all those people claiming ‘Tommy knew what he was in for’].
        
        Note: this is all just my understanding of Caolan’s claims of what happened in court. Watch the video yourself if you care.

  One could be forgiven for assumming the priest is implying that the victims of the sodomite priests should take it on the chin and bend over for more.
  Or equally a vodka drenched Ukranian officer takes a day off from raping and looting only to be seized with the great idea of shooting down a civilian aircraft , after all the Americans are to stupid and soft to notice and will blame Putin.

In saying this, Morlino has in the back of his mind not just those outside the Church who would condemn him (eg. you), but more acutely those WITHIN the Church who enabled and covered up the crimes, who still weld significant power and who aim their arrows at good Bishops like Morlino.

  Sure there is some inflationary creep, but there’s a lot of expectation/entitlement creep too.
  
  50 years ago most families had one car, they lived in single-glazed houses, an overseas holiday was a luxury and nobody had credit cards.
  
  Now most families have a car for everyone over 18, even beneficiaries are turning up their noses at those same houses and they pop over to Oz for the week end to visit their rellies or take in a show.
  
  How many of those people supposedly doing hard on 100k a year are budgeting? How many are ever saying nope we can’t afford X?
  
  Nope they max out their credit cards on all sorts of crap. They extend their mortgages and keep in debt.
  
  Full disclaimer, my family would need to do some severe belt-tightening to live on 100k, but we could.

    The last time New Zealand went through a serious financial crisis was over 30 years ago, in 1987.
    You would have had to have been working and paying off a mortgage in those days to really feel affected (say, aged 25 years or older). So, no one aged under 56 would have any real memory of the last time NZ was in trouble.
    
    And all the Chinese in this country will (if they are younger than 60) have no idea of what a serious economic slump is like. They have only known good times all their adult lives. Couple this with a penchant for “gambling” and you can see why speculative “investment” is so popular. Property only ever goes up, right?
    
    Wrong. In Japan, prices of less desirable real estate (most of it) have been slowly sinking since the early 90s.

      Post-1987 slump first mortgage interest rates hovered between 17.5% and 22%. I see those in their 20s and 30s struggling with much larger mortgages but with interest rates beneath 5%. All numbers are relative to other costs and income levels but what is not negotiable is the strict need to budget and occasionally say to oneself…”I can’t afford X.” Or “X is too expensive!”

        When mortgage interest rates are around 4%, it would only take a rise of a couple of percentage points to raise interest repayments by 50%.
        
        For example, if your loan interest rate is 4% but then rises over time to 6%, then that is a 50% increase in interest outgoings. (6 is 50% bigger than 4.)

        On top of that, they take 30 year loans and make the minimum repayments. Dumb idea.
        
        When you taker a 30 year loan at 5 or 6%, almost all your mortgage payments are going into paying interest for the first few years.
        
        If you increase your repayments by a small amount (just 10%), you can repay your mortgage much faster. And yes, you can find that extra $70 a week if you really want to.
        
        For example, a 500k 30year mortgage at 6% is about $690 a week.
        
        If you increase the payments by 10% to $760 you will repay the mortgage in 24 years: 10% gives you 20%. After 30 years you will end up with about $120k more in your pocket.
        
        That’s a pretty good deal for just paying the money a bit earlier.

      There’s another significant change in the mortgage repayment cycle too with house owners using the collateral built up by increased property valuation to extend their mortgage in order to purchase overseas holidays or other lifestyle choices such as leasing luxury cars or boats. Result, they get to retirement age still owing significant money on their mortgage.

        Perhaps GazzaW we need to read between the lines of the latest utterance from the RBNZ as the new Governor puts his ore in. He obtusely hints that interest rates are likely to rise as inflation starts to rise rapidly since he has been hobbled from a more direct tone. He sees a lot more of where the monetary flow is heading and warns of borrowers overcommitting themselves at the point of purchase of a dwelling. The LVR was eased but if it starts to heat up the market it will be lifted again. Sadly this does not bode well for Kiwibuild though we hardly expect a rush of new houses from them anytime soon.

      As part of my role i do budgeting work with people (not granny budgeting, i’m a certified financial planner), and it amazes me the number of people on very good incomes who cannot find $2 to rub together.
      
      but when we look at the budget (the first time they have done one usually), the food spending is out of control, they expect 10K a year for travel, the kids never miss out, they never have enough insurance for if it really gets bad, they live deep on credit cards, and they think that its too hard to change.
      
      $400 a week on groceries for a couple with one kid is not uncommon to see.
      
      60K consumer debt is not uncommon, and thats usually high interest and not even for a car.
      
      its not that you cannot be broke over 100K income, but (like at all levels), its self inflicted.

    * I had to fly economy class on a 13 hour trip, it was all cramped! Yup, and you’re 5 foot nothing. On the same flight I bet there were 6ft 3 blokes shoe-horned into the same seats that weren’t bitching. In fact they probably didn’t get the seats with more legroom because you “needed” it.   No. Higher level contamination because of P labs (or possibly unusually high levels of consumption) will still need to be cleaned up. Testing will still be needed for this in some cases although possibly high levels of contamination would be readily noticeable.
  What is the pity is that the responsible ministers (in the previous Government) did not get on the case far quicker and ask Peter Gluckman to investigate. However it could well have come under attack from the sort of people who tend to vote Winston Peters.
  The other problem is quackery. Those in the quackery business are quick to blame peoples’ ailments on whatever is in the news at the time whether it be radiation from power lines or cell phone sites, secondary exposure to P etc. Hence there tends to be some level of public hysteria which inhibits logical thinking.

  Use of P is illegal.
  Allowing P use in a State or Private rental should result in eviction.
  If you or allow people to smoke P in your house you are an idiot.
  The house structure itself may not be a danger but what about people (Childern) in the room when the drug is being consumed or while the smoke etc is still “in the Air”.
  I would not move into a house if I new the previous tenants smoked P.
  Are people going to be penalised if they refuse the offer of a house that had been used to smoke P.
  ‘Phil of shit’ needs to be asked this question.

    P is easy cleaned off the walls etc.
    People eat and smoke more contaminant’s than you get from living in a house where p has been smoked.
    
    Ritalin supplies more P then living in a house contaminated with P.
    Afetr all the cold medicines which were good contained the precursor.

  Ministry of Health set low limits (probably following overseas practice). If tenants (not responsible for contamination) found the property was P contaminated above that low limit they could demand a refund of all the rent paid and as far as I know the Tribunal would agree.
  The limits were increased a while back which would have helped. Caution would have been called for in setting them still higher. Possibly Peter Gluckman’s research was commenced at the time higher limits were adopted with a view of increasing them still further.
  Prospective tenants could still decline a tenancy if they are not happy with P levels although in the current situation they could be limited in choice. Some prospective purchasers could still want a P testing clause in their contracts.
  Whether state tenants evicted over P issues should be compensated is a political issue, private tenants may have no such luck because they had breached the tenancy agreement applicable at the time.

  Gluckman said he had been working on this for 8 years as reported in one statement but all of a sudden it has been “released”. Good luck to those families who might get off the waiting list but we can only hope HNZ have them sign a waiver to any and all P related illness. The threat of second hand P smoke is a much bigger threat as a result of this questionable finding and has now been overtly sanctioned.

    Be very careful with saying this. A child may go out with friends for what appears to be a quite legitimate social outing and then could get caught up with this. Cam Slater came under heavy criticism for calling a West Coast family ‘feral’ following a car crash. The family was not ‘feral’. The Media are again jumping at the chance to attack the police big time when the little scrote decided to fail to stop and tried to elude them.     What I don’t get are these idiots who tell us the police should give up car chases, because kids like this do exactly what happened in this case. Sorry, but the kid was in a stolen car, the cops don’t chase, what are the chances of being able to apprehend & convict in such cases? An educated bet would be, six tenths of zero.

      Sadly a young 12 year old girl died from injuries as a result of the accident.
      The deaths associated with the chases demonstrate that joy riding in stolen vehicles is a big problem with rebellious youth. Girls have been for some time willing participants with in the theft of the vehicles for fun and excitement but pay the ultimate price with their deaths.
      Also young men simply lack basic driving skills, stealing a high powered motor vehicle and crashing it with dire consequences believing they are expert drivers.Shame.

    I once watched a Police chase in the middle of the night around the narrow neighborhood streets in Alicetown, Lower Hutt. Several Police cars following each other too.
    
    Have the Police started punching youth again–has the govt given them the green light?
    
    I have witnessed a Policeman set a dog on a 14 year old boy to teach him a lesson.

      Now, don’t get me wrong, I have been on the wrong end of the law. I once ran from the police on a motorbike, in South Africa, 1995. Eventually got caught. The cop who I ran from very nearly smashed me with a Mag Lite torch’ only the fact that my brother worked as a dispatcher for the cops (and other chaps in attendance knew that) stopped him from landing a blow. But I did get roughed up. I deserved it. Learned a lesson. Respect the badge. These toe rags treat the cops like sheet, they deserve a little fun punching and the odd reminder of who’s in charge.

  Do you know your kids friends and where they live? Do you have their parents phone numbers? Do you know where your kids are? Do you trust them to make good choices? Are they safe? Do you know the person they are staying with. If those people have kids, do you like the behaviour of those kids?
  
  This isn’t nagging or being over protective. It’s called decent parenting! If your kids are that precious to you, you’d know these answers.
  
  I feel for any parent that has lost a child. But ffs, care more about being a good parent than being a cool one.

    They certainly seem pretty devastated.
    It’s the nature of youth to take risks and think they are bullet-proof.
    Both my two older boys were nearly killed/maimed speeding and crashing their cars.
    One had bad headaches for a year.
    We were just incredibly lucky they survived.
    What’s far worse than our road toll is the number of lost kids who give up on life and commit suicide.
    Two beautiful 14 year olds who topped themselves up north last year weren’t even living with their own parents.
    At least these poor kids who died in crashes seem to have had parents who loved them and hadn’t turfed them out of home at an early age.

        I always knew where my kids all were until they were 18, but I was lucky I didn’t need to work (outside the home) back then and was able to keep track of them.
        Not everybody has the opportunity to concentrate solely on their kids.
        Some people are just naive.
        I have seen nice people lose their teenagers and their grief is unbearable.

        Well, as a single mum, I agree, you and your children were fortunate.
        
        As a single mum, I work full time and make it my business to know where my son is. During school hours, he better be damn sure he’s at school. He understands there is a certain route he takes to get to his after school care. I do know all his friends and their parents names, numbers and where they live.
        
        I’m not kicking anyone while they’re down vege. I’m insulted you’d think so. But I wish to whatever gods people believe in, that we learn valuable lessons from these tragic waste of young people’s lives because our kids aren’t responsible/nature/sensible NOT to get into stolen cars. As parents, it’s our responsibility to teach our kids these things. Not society’s. Not the Police. Not schools.
        Kids deserve and have the right to be decently parented. So I’m glad I’m a tough parent. I make no apologies for it. So call me a self righteous prig. Beats grieving for a child I will never see grow up.

H2 to chair the latest govt review. Clark is setting up a health review to look at health outcomes for the next 30 years. With particular emphasis on Maori & Pacific Islanders.
Potentially, they’ll look at changing the DHB model, “to remove duplication”.
So, they know the results of this review, why can’t they just be honest, and:
1. Shower their mates with more taxpayer money; and
2. Just make the changes to the health system that they want. As was highlighted in yesterday’s piece the Col ministers don’t listen to advisors or experts.

Honestly, I was stunned, her and Willie were both on but it was Mau that was telling everyone to vote for the Greens and Labour, “You need to vote for the Greens and Labour next time to change this……” and it wasn’t a one off, she was saying it to every caller. “100,000 affordable homes over the next ten years” then a chart 1,000 in 2018/19, 5,000 in 2019/20, and 10,000 in 2020/21. Everyone is saying this ain’t going to happen. So their big plans are their own forecasts, classic nonsense.

Claims lower income families will be better off by $75 per week. Though rent is up $35 per week since September and oil is up too.

Next page, “We know that for New Zealanders to do well, our economy needs to do well. That’s why growing our economy is our top priority.” This is a joke, right? Right below it is a chart with the surpluses National left them in the fine print it says “HYEFU 2017″

Back page, Cindy, ” I’m proudly ambitious for this amazing country and those of us who call it home.” Yep typical empty Cindy nonsense.

      Maths, at the time.
      $500 000 per house x 10 000 houses
      $5 bill, not enough surplus, so need to borrow (said they wouldn’t).
      A builder can build a house about every 6 weeks ie about 7 houses per year (he needs holidays too)
      So…about 1400 EXTRA builders needed, or Mrs Jones in Christchurch, won’t be able to get any building work done.
      Process
      Buy the land…..2 months
      get subdivision plans, resource consent, building permits etc……..3 months
      Put in infrastructure, roads, drainage, sewage, electric, internet etc…….3 months
      Start build after about 6 months (can start while infrastructure is going in). Now you have 6 months to build to completion and sell them ALL ready to start again next year.
      So
      Need twice as many builders, plumbers, electricians etc
      and
      No allowance for increased costs over 10 years
      More borrowing or
      Price cap on materials and land costs
      BTW have you told the workers on these projects, they are not going to get a pay rise for 10 years?

Stuff are going after Simon Bridges again the morning. I didn’t think Simon’s comments were controversial. He said something like. “Lets see what comes back from the Law Commission” and mentioned that change will create a divisive situation where there isn’t one now.

  This is a terribly extremist position that labour and the left have embraced now. Once there would have been at least the appearance of feeling sad about the deaths of unborn children. But now there is celebration on the streets when a country decides it can have abortions.
  
  Apparently there were 15,000 abortions last year in New Zealand? Who among us thinks that that’s a lot? Like that’s the size of a whole town. No wonder we need so much Third World immigration. We are determined to kill our young New Zealanders before they can even draw breath.
  
  So much abortion is a tragedy. It’s a stain on our country. What Simon Bridges says was quite good I thought – abortion should be safe legal and rare. Now that’s a reasonable compromise I would have thought?

    Yup we’re killing off a whole town a year, but whether or not that’s a good or bad thing for society will depend very much on which town that is (ie. the demographics of the babies being aborted) and where we source the immigrants to make up the difference.

  The feminist complaint is that abortion is still technically a crime under NZ law unless a medical certification process is followed (that 2 doctors certify that the need for abortion falls into certain permitted causes, the most common being negative impact on mental health). It doesn’t seem to matter that that process effectively means we have abortion on demand in reality in this country.
  
  Abortion is a hugely controversial issue. The current law reflects a very hard fought compromise that was made in the late 1970s. The medical certification process might be legal window dressing in practice, but at least it ensures some justification is made for terminating the life of an unborn child.
  
  I think Bridges is taking an entirely sensible approach. The problem is we have a naive and inexperienced PM who wants to stir up this issue. For what? It’s not like women have issues getting abortions – 1 in 5 pregnancies end each year for this reason.

  So he did – and I didn’t vote for him subsequently.
  
  The Left/liberal desire for women to have abortion on demand is a denial of the true rights and responsibilities of women (and by extension, men), and a blatant desire to keep them in the workforce. They, in fact, want to get to the position where they can positively push for abortion wherever they deem it preferable, irrespective of sometimes very bad long term consequences for the mothers.
  
  Ireland will find out – after they have a massive increase in abortions and the women have to face the reality over their lifetime. You can persuade women, at a given point in time, that a foetus is just a ‘collection of cells’, but at some point, they’re likely to want a child. At that point, that ‘collection of cells’ is going to become a desired human being – and they’ll know the one they killed wasn’t ‘different’; just their narrative has changed. One they choose to kill; one they don’t. They’ll also find out that they may have gained the right to kill their child but they’ll eventually no longer have a ‘right’ to be mothers. Previously they may have been shipped out to ‘homes’ where they were ill-treated. Now they’ll just be sent to an abortion clinic.
  
  Firstly, they don’t provide the mothers with the true picture e.g. not showing them scans of the foetus with a beating heart and formed organs – already a little human being. The foetus has to be dehumanised to go through with it – especially the ripping apart and/or burning. (And let me just say, compare that with the emotional pleas of the farmers wife trying to protect unborn calves being dropped out of the bodies of their mothers. It seems doctors/nurses don’t suffer such squeamishness.)
  
  Secondly, the arguments pro-abortion are very simplistic, ideological, and entirely circumstantial. They don’t consider the bigger picture which can result in terrible errors. E.g. – we all know that hygiene is ‘good’ and the modern health cult is always pushing it – who knew that lack of exposure to bacteria would result in more children getting leukaemia?
  
  So much of everything we do is in spite of the natural world and natural processes – and we really have little genuine knowledge of how it all works together. But it does – all work together. You can’t change one element without it resounding throughout the entire system, often with very negative unintended consequences (like the argued ‘climate change’?).
  
  And yet, ideologues and profiteers blithely set about social engineering without any care/concern for the wider possible consequences. We’re at war with the natural environment far more extensively than around climate change. Without question, nature will restore itself one way or the other – then we’ll call it a ‘disaster’.

    I’ve had a few older women tell me they wish they’d had a abortion with their first child.
    They were usually too young and unprepared for motherhood and the kid was ballsed up as a result, making both their lives hell and forcing them to stay with a violent man.
    If they could have had an early termination they would probably have made a better, lasting marriage and had some happier, undamaged kids.

      Hindsight always appears perfect. That’s the sort of irrational belief and wishful thinking that causes such disasters.
      
      If their judgement was so off that they got into a relationship with a ‘violent man’ in the first place, not to mention getting pregnant in an age where that’s totally unnecessary, the chances of making a ‘better, lasting marriage’ are very slim. It would have been just a different violent man at best.
      
      If their kids are ‘unhappy’ and ‘damaged’, that’s entirely their own doing – their decisions, all the time.
      
      It’s extraordinary the lengths people will go to in avoiding both the reality and responsibility of their own behaviour. Entirely predictable, but extraordinary.
      
      Mind you, that sounds judgemental. I’m sure they made the best decisions they felt they could at the time. However, trying to pretend that the fault lies with the children would tend to imply they’re judgement is no better now. The choices were always theirs, at every stage.
      
      They needed protection in their own childhoods from those who taught them it’s normal to be abused. So that they could make better decisions for themselves and their children.

      I know quite a few women and men who have been very glad of an abortion when they were teens who made a big mistake or had a contraception failure. They regretted the pregnancy, but not the abortion. They continued their continued their studies or apprenticeship, later married/partnered and had good stable families.
      
      Not going to argue the morality of it but this is the fact: many people are glad that abortions were available and enabled them to have careers and families. Probably they ended up having more children (and in a much more stable environment) than they could have had if they’d continued the teen pregnancy and struggled for years.

        It’s not a surprise to me that you really don’t understand what I’m saying. And it’s not about morality.
        
        Hindsight is valueless. You don’t know that one of the children aborted wouldn’t have found the cure for cancer or revolutionised economics, etc. You also don’t know what goes on more deeply inside people, as opposed to what they say.
        
        Surprisingly, that one person economically benefited from an abortion doesn’t necessarily make it a good thing. And gosh, people regretted being faced with consequences of their actions – how revolutionary (not) as is relishing the possibility of avoiding them.
        
        We live in a world where, increasingly, the rule is ‘If it’s not convenient to your goals or you don’t like it, kill it” – for the supposed ultimate ‘good’ defined at the time or just because you feel like it. Of course, no-one likes that when it’s done with a bomb or an AK47 pointed at them – or when the Amazon rainforest is being destroyed.
        
        The more rational process would be for humanity to be aware of the issues, take responsibility for their behaviour, and not create the problem in the first place. The undoubtedly better option is for the species to retain all its humanity, as part of the natural world, rather than deciding who is ‘disposable’ to promote their immediate, personal interests or self-gratification.
        
        ‘Struggling’ clearly did not do John Key et al any harm in youth.

        More to the point, Classic Liberal, if Darwin’s finches had decided to eliminate their progeny as the environment got more challenging, they wouldn’t have been around for him to study.
        
        Every individual is unique. Any of them could have a natural resistance to HIV, cancer, Ebola, or some other adaptive feature we don’t know about.
        
        By eliminating natural processes – and totally unthinkingly other than on personal whim/advantage – we are actively interfering in evolutionary adaptation, without any thought whatsoever. Indeed, those most likely to be ‘disposed of’ are more likely to be the healthiest and/or with the most potential (to our view anyway); the less ‘healthy’ or more challenging being either ignored, or of more medical interest, and/or attracting more ‘sympathy’/belief in their ‘rights’.
        
        That’s a concern because nature produces change according to the real and viable need of the time to ensure survival. We do not.

        I also know a fair few young women who had unplanned pregnancies in their teens.
        In most cases, that first child was their last, and had a difficult upbringing.
        Some do go on to marry later on and have more children.
        If they are lucky enough to find a man who will accept the first child, or their mother takes them, things might turn out alright.
        One woman I know had 2 kids as a teenager.
        She didn’t particularly want them (except for the income stream) so she foisted them on reluctant relations.
        Eventually she married and ditched the kids completely.
        Knowing they were unwanted, they ran away, got into drugs and gangs.
        This is a common occurrence.

  While, as we’ll see below, the reasons for the postponement order appear sound, the consequence of preventing fair and accurate reporting by responsible journalists was that there was no factual counterpoint to the selective and inaccurate details of Yaxley-Lennon’s situation that were inevitably flooded through social media by his knuckle-dragging cheerleaders, not least his racists-in-arms across the pond. Thus sprung a (largely unchallenged and unchallengeable) narrative of Tommy The Brave being arrested outside court for no reason and imprisoned in secret by the deep state, culminating in petitions for his release and a Nazi-themed march on Downing Street.
  
  On the day itself, I attempted a post aimed at shining a little light on what might have happened (having no knowledge of the proceedings myself), but having been alerted by a reporter to the terms of the reporting restrictions, took the post down out of an abundance of caution. Now, however, with the restrictions lifted we can try to restore a little order.

There are tens of thousands of photos, all preserved in perpetuity on the internet, of people the subject of photos and journalistic activity on their way into courts. There are no restrictions extant on the identification and reporting of individuals involved in court cases. New Zealand is part of the same common law.
    The Daily Mail for example, under Piers Morgan, were happy to hack cellphones to find dick pics, snatch pics, evidence of individuals in the closet to force them out, marriage troubles, financial problems, and engage in gerneralised Voyeurism.     There is no possibility of prejudicing juries by revealing PUBLICLY AVAILABLE INFORMATION like names printed on an online court Gazette of individuals involved in separate matters. It would be like saying that you could ‘prejudice’ David Bain’s murder case by revealing that Mark Lundy was a suspect in a separate case.

    Not only were they separate matters, it was a fucking sentencing hearing. Not a trial under deliberation formulation. They were trying to stop a journalist from reporting on the identities of actual rape-pedophiles who had been adjudged guilty and were being sentenced and who were walking the streets of Leeds without a care you may.

    Show me a single barrister in NZ who would argue that the public administration of the sentencing of pedophiles, outweighs the public interest in knowing who the rape-torturers are walking around eating Kebabs in the streets on bail? Show me.
    
    3. But I heard Tommy Robinson was arrested for a breach of the peace. What is a breach of the peace? How is a breach of the peace caused by someone simply filming?
    
    “Robinson provocatively filming defendants and streaming on Facebook for the edification of his cult, is the kind of thing which could, it might be argued, lead to a breach of the peace”.
    
    Ah, right. So the entire concept and practice of ‘court journalism’ therefore constitutes breaches of the peace.
    
    Isn’t it so very interesting that none of the reporting on any white individual the subject of proceedings for alleged crimes against muslims constitutes a ‘breach of the peace’.
    
    And what was the liklihood of an ‘affray’ directed at individuals who were going to be in prison?
    
    The ‘suspicion of an intention to commit a breach of the peace’ was pure garbage – and I’ll note, utterly unrelated to the terms of Tommy’s suspended sentence which he observed to the ‘letter’.
    
    4. How can it be legal for somebody to be arrested for breach of the peace and then imprisoned for contempt?
    
    “It is perfectly common for a person to be arrested on suspicion of one offence, and then ultimately charged or dealt with for another”.
    
    No it isn’t. Not in the context of journalism. Not even close.
    
    “It appears that Yaxley-Lennon was arrested and detained for causing or threatening a breach of the peace, and that the court, upon being made aware of his activities, directed that he be brought to court to be dealt with for contempt of court”.
    
    So Tommy did this voluntarily did he? Well that sounds pertinent – let’s see it substantiated. Oh wait, it can’t be.
    
    “The “breach of the peace” angle is a red herring”.
    
    No it isn’t nonce. Because ‘breach of the peace’ was the offence trigger for which he was arrested, and the precedent has now been set as to what constitutes a ‘breach of the peace’ in England – namely, journalism the government and the muslims pedophiles who have raped 1million girls in England since 1980 don’t like.
    
    It’s not a ‘red-herring’. It’s the key element to the English government’s tyranny. It was the only possibly employable provision that could be used against Tommy. And it was completely unrelated to his suspended sentence, because he was observant of it’s terms.
    
    5. So back up a step – what exactly is contempt of court?
    
    Again – there was no ‘substantial risk of serious prejudice or impediment’. For the reasons already stated.
    
    The court does not have unfettered discretion to ban freedom of assembly on public spaces outside court precincts, as this cretin himself/herself observes with reference to the Criminal Justice Act 1925 which I’ve described earlier.
    
    There was no ‘criminal contempt’ because Robinson was conforming to the terms of the judge’s earlier order – which was strictly prohibitive of inferences of guilt. He made no such inferences.
    
    6. What happened at Canterbury Crown Court?
    
    This rendition is irrelevant. Journalist’s do what Tommy did every day of the week in the Commonwealth. Not only that, but the judge in the 2017 Canterbury case acknowledged that Tommy had complied with earlier instructions given to him prior to the Rebel Media litigation.
    
    Not only that, but the specific court rules are capricious and as I stated in earlier comments, are not publicly disclosed. No can fucking KNOW what the rules in for a given court anymore in England.
    
    Why should an individual obeying earlier judge-given instructions comply with contrary instructions given by junior court staff absent confirmation from a residing judge? Particularly when the behaviour is clearly journalism of a form utterly trite. The court’s authority doesn’t reside in every person employed by a court. It resides in the Judge, and to a lesser extent, the Clerk in specific circumstances.
    
    7. So what you’re saying is that Tommy Robinson was given a suspended sentence simply for trying to report on a case? Free speech is truly dead.
    
    Tommy made no inferences of guilt. Again, is it, or is it not, a fact that every day journalists report on the identity and particulars of individuals ‘suspected’ of crime? They certainly do that with reckless abandon in England with regard to Tommy himself, or any white person generally, don’t they.
    
    The quote provided is from the earlier Canterbury 2017 case, and, as I said, states the prohibition against inferences of guilt.
    
    But these fucking idiots published the fucking identities of the suspect in the fucking gazette of their own corrupt institution – how is it ‘contempt of court’ to re-state information the pedo’s have already fucking published?
    
    A complete misnomer – that excerpt was from an earlier case where Tommy accepted the decision and modified his behaviour accordingly.
    
    8. How is all that relevant to what took place on 25 May 2018?
    
    “In short, Mr Yaxley-Lennon, turn up at another court, refer to people as “Muslim paedophiles, Muslim rapists” and so and so forth while trials are ongoing and before there has been a finding by a jury that that is what they are, and you will find yourself inside. Do you understand?“
    
    Except, in this particular section of the trial – the verdict had been found. It was a fucking sentencing hearing.
    
    9. What did he go and do?
    
    He did NOT infer guilt. Unless the publishing of muslims names in a court gazette infers guilt.
    
    Unless saying that it is illegal to state that muslims who have been adjudged guilty of pedophilia and are receiving sentence are muslim pedophiles – which is what they are.
    
    Again, this ‘barristers’ logic is not applied to any other case ever. These were ‘Tommy Robinson’ rules under a ‘Tommy Robinson’ line of cases.
    
    10. He was tried in secret on the day he was arrested, with no lawyers and the media were banned from reporting what had happened. This is Kafka on steroids, surely?
    
    Yes it, is. Oh, so there were ‘journalists’ present – and they’re barred from reporting on the matter. But because they were ‘there’ it’s not secret, right commoner? You see, as long as there are ‘journalists’ apparated in the visible spectrum, regardless of whether or not they can emit sound waves and record material in writing, it’s not ‘secret’. What a fucking idiot.
    
    The latest reports are that Tommy was judged in a hearing that lasted ‘minutes’. Not hours. Minutes. Now Andrew Geddis might want to chime in, but it seems to me that if you assign a lawyer no time whatsoever to consider a highly technical and contentious case – that is a monumental breach of due process. This was a conveyor belt matter stitch up job.
    
    Look at the easy defence I’ve just mounted. Imagine what a defence lawyer could have done in the normal course of affairs of due process. The court has no right to prevent the enactment of a defence.
    
    “There is no suggestion of any prejudice; Yaxley-Lennon was legally represented by an experienced barrister and would have received full legal advice”.
    
    Hi Mr lawyer man – you have ten minutes to prepare one of the most technical and fundamental matters regarding journalism in the history of the United Kingdom. By and by, note we have the prison cell warmed up and we expect him to be in it by 2 o’clock, on the dot, presently.
    
    Fair defence.
    
    “As for the suggestion (by UKIP among others) that nobody has ever before been found in contempt of court and a postponement order made preventing the media from immediately reporting it, a handy example can be found on 22 May 2017, where one Stephen Yaxley-Lennon was found to be in contempt at Canterbury, and a postponement order was made restricting publication until the end of the substantive trial”.

    The only instance it’s ever been done was to the same, Tommy Robinson. So you use the first manifestly unjust Kangaroo court decision to justify the second.

Seems to me to be no more necessary now to be described as “Dr” than it was before he was elevated to Minister – it looks a bit tricky. The problem is the 8th amendment was never what was making you angry in the first place. It’s not the schools or the hospitals, or the ban on euthanasia either. No social reform is going to make you people happy. You’re all looking in the wrong place

The deep injustice many people feel, and the power to change the country that they now wield, is missing something – there’s no vision in it for how to make people feel happy. Once all the “oppression” is gone, they’ll have to confront the fact that their misery is their own.

It was never the journey that was lonely. It was never the country that was cruel. It was never the church that was oppressing you. The movement you are in won’t leave you fulfilled and happy. It will just leave you all angry in company.

In terms of the calls to silence me, or others – hah. You guys own the country now. You own the media, the political class, the culture. You can keep pretending that a minority voice is holding you back, or you can realise that it’s actually an oppression of your own making.

One thing I kept hearing yesterday was that this was a “symbolic” victory. There are many more symbolic victories to be had – blasphemy, the role of women, the pre-amble. Lots more totems of the past to tear down. None of them will fix the problem.

The problem is that all of those victories are empty of meaning. Even this one. Having an abortion in Louth will not be more fun than having one in London. It remains an abortion. You’re not “free”. You’re just miserable, probably in greater numbers, closer to home.

The Irish liberal left has nothing to offer you whatsoever, beyond days like yesterday. A momentary feeling of togetherness. It can’t provide you with a good job, or a loving partner, or security. All it does is provide you with an enemy to hate.

A gunman has killed two police officers and a passer-by before being shot dead in the centre of the Belgian city of Liege, in what a public prosecutor called “a terrorist incident”.

The man was named by public broadcaster RTBF as a 36-year-old petty criminal and drug dealer who was let out of jail on day-release on Monday (local time). A Belgian politician said the man had been on an anti-terrorist police watchlist after being radicalised in jail, apparently as a convert to Islam — raising questions about why he seems to have been freed unsupervised and expected to return.

Just imagine the conversation: we’re letting you out to play for a day, but be good, and do come back won’t you?

La Libre Belgique newspaper quoted a police source as saying the gunman shouted “Allahu Akbar” — God is greatest in Arabic. A Koran and prayer rug were found during a search of his cell, Paris-Match magazine said.

What a pity they didn’t search the cell before letting this creep out.

  Some astute observations, but in the interests of accuracy I will push back on a few points.
  
  1) Zuma was the one that showered after sex to “cure” AIDS. To the best of my knowledge Ramaposa did not. People were delighted to see the back of Zuma and his corruption, but Ramaposa is far, far worse.
  
  2) The water situation in Cape Town is indeed appalling and Cape Town was only biled out by farmers giving up the water they had saved in their own dams for their own needs. Many of those farms are orchards and such, so the loss of water has wiped those farms out for many years – killing off some food production and many rural jobs. They did not really have any significant desalination installed., however one of the world leaders in desalination design is based in Cape Town – they sell mainly to the Middle East etc.
  
  Most of the best land (KwaZulu-Natal and Transkei) is already in black hands. Most of the land farmed by whites is arid (semi-desert) and thus needs technology (irrigation etc) to farm. Black people never lived there because they could not farm it.

So 75% were not bothered and it can be assumed have not been harassed. Assume 13000 lawyers 25% = 3250. 18% of that equals 585. Grand total 4.5% of the total. Another piece of shit escapes being incarcerated forever.

At his sentencing on Tuesday, Crown prosecutor Rebecca Guthrie called on the judge to impose preventative detention.

This was because Omar had been deemed as posing an ongoing threat to the public and the similarities to his 2008 and 2015 offences – non-consensual sex acts in public places with women he had not previously known – indicated there was a repetitive pattern to his offending.

Omar continued to deny his offending and had either not adequately engaged or had declined to take part in rehabilitative programmes following his earlier conviction.

He had also been assessed by two psychologists. One had found him to be at high risk of further violent and sexual offending within 10 years of his release from prison.

Silly me.

I was confident Ardern could not cause anymore damage to NZs reputation but wait……. there’s more – we belong to 5 eyes however according to the other 4 eyes we are the soft underbelly (weak link) that could allow China & Russia access to the organisation.

Big embarrisment for Ardern as no one in the remaining 4 eyes has bothered to tell her.

I can see us getting the arse… maybe that’s what the SLG wants.

The Three Strikes law will be repealed in two weeks, Newshub has reported.

Justice Minister Andrew Little would push for sentences of less than two years to be served as home detention.

Government documents obtained by Newshub Nation revealed plans to soften bail, sentencing and parole laws.

“If you have a sentence of two years or less, you’re at the lower end of the offending. It’s better that you’re out in the community,” Little said.

Little was also planning to reinstate a sentencing council to provide guidance to judges and changes to bail would see people on electronic bail could count bail time as time served on their sentence.

The stupid little bint said in Parliament a few weeks back that they way prison rates were going, we would need a new prison every couple of years and “no one in NZ wants that”.

I want that! If it takes violent scum off the street and away from where they can hurt innocent people, I’m more than happy.

OPINION: I am writing this column as a member of a despised minority. I will be 68 next birthday. I’m fair of skin and male of sex.

To put it another way, in the language of “progressive” millennials and people who, with no sense of irony, describe themselves as liberals, I’m male, pale and stale.

There is no more crushing condemnation in the 21st century political lexicon. To be male, pale and stale is to be racist, sexist, bitter and selfish. Don Brash and Sir Bob Jones are prime examples of this wretched form of humanity. I am too, albeit of a lower order of celebrity.

It goes without saying that I can’t help being old. I can no more control the ageing process than I could dance the prima ballerina’s role in Swan Lake. Neither did I have any say over my ethnicity or sex.

Perhaps if I’d been born six decades later I might have been encouraged to decide for myself what gender I wanted to assume and to alter my sexual identity at will, regardless of physiology. But I’ve been a bloke all my life and it’s a bit hard to reinvent myself at this point in my life cycle.

Having said that, I’ve been happy being a male and never felt any desire to have it any other way. Nor have I felt ashamed about it, which is not to say I’m not regularly appalled by the behaviour of some of my fellow blokes.

Moreover, I don’t hate or fear women and have never felt that I was in competition with them, still less perceived them as a threat. So I’m not sure that I deserve the implied accusation that men like me are by definition misogynistic.

The women who have been closest to me throughout my life have been stroppy and strong-willed. If I preferred women to be submissive, I’ve been either desperately unlucky or spectacularly unwise.

But never mind all that. I’m stuck with being a bloke, just as I’m stuck with my skin colour and my inexorably advancing age. Yet I, and others like me, now find ourselves regularly being pilloried for having the temerity to express an opinion about things. It seems we’re expected to shut up.

Let’s unpick that phrase “male, pale and stale”. The first thing you notice is that it explicitly criticises people on the basis of their skin colour.

Ah, but that’s okay, because we’re white. And as I heard a moronic talkback host assert recently, only minority groups – i.e. non-whites – can be subject to racism.

You can forget all that warm, inclusive talk on the Left about celebrating diversity. The embrace of diversity mysteriously stops short of ageing white blokes. We’re the one demographic cohort against whom it’s permissible – in fact fashionable – to display undisguised and often venomous bigotry.

In any other context, attacking people on the basis of their age, sex and skin colour would be labelled a hate crime, but no-one should expect the Human Rights Commission to take up our cause.

Being white and male, we are seen as being in a position of power and therefore unscathed by discrimination and immune to insult. And if we are discriminated against, we’re expected to suck it up because … well, because we deserve it.

Ageing white males are considered fair game because we’re seen as having enjoyed privilege for too long. Now the tables have turned and we’re expected to pay the penalty by keeping our supposedly rancid opinions to ourselves.

This treats freedom of expression as a zero-sum game where one person’s right to speak can only be achieved by silencing someone else. But that’s not how free speech works.

In any case, if white males dominated newspaper opinion columns in past decades, as has been alleged, then any imbalance has been more than redressed. The media today is awash with comment that uncritically embraces the “progressive” agenda (there’s another word that’s used with no sense of irony) and sneers at anyone who stands in its path.

Am I pleading for sympathy here? Not a bit. We curmudgeonly tuataras can look after ourselves. All I’m doing is highlighting the double standards of social justice warriors who shriek with outrage at any perceived slight against a favoured minority group, but pile in for the attack when it’s an old white bloke who’s on the ground getting kicked.

One last thought. Today’s angry social justice warrior has a funny way of turning into tomorrow’s crusty reactionary.

One day the people who rant about ageing white men will themselves become old, and they can’t discount the hideous possibility that they too will morph into conservative dinosaurs, because by then they might have learned a few things about life, politics and the human condition.
