The NZ herald has an astounding article on reforming the justice system today. A quote:

There seems little argument that it needs improving. If nothing else, our prison population has soared from 8200 in 2009 to 10,500 this year. Prisons are bursting at the seams despite crime falling.

Crime falling. Prisons bursting. Might those perhaps be related?

I’m all for rehabilitation and finding ways to reduce reoffending. However, there are some people who cannot be rehabilitated and the only way to stop them reoffending is to lock them up. Andrew Little seems to not acknowledge that.

      Mr Little is very patronising toward Maori and their abilities. If the blame lies with “the impact of colonisation on modern New Zealand” I would ask him to explain all those successful Maori doing well in this “type of society we have got at the moment.”
      
      I would have thought negligent parenting and wider whanau is the biggest effect on their ability to survive in the type of society we have got at the moment.” If children are not prepared for the world they are to function in then who else is to blame?

        Effectively what he has said is that if you adjusted well to living in a modern society and you are not committing any crime then you are a defective Maori.
        
        Perhaps he would rather see a return to traditional Maori legal systems where wives and slaves were beaten and the conflicts were routinely resolved by violence.

        Māori 14.90% pop; 4391, 51% prison 7.67x Euro
        European 74% pop; 2835, 33% prison 1x Euro
        Pacific Is 7.40% pop; 1006, 12% prison 3.63x Euro
        Asian 11.80% pop; 235, 3% prison 0.57x Euro
        
        With more European genes and higher average intelligence Maori are still 2x Incarceration Rates of P.I. So even allowing for lower average IQ (and associated poorer impulse control and consideration of consequences) for P.I and Maori in comparison to Europeans, Maori look terrible in comparison to P.I. A lot of Maori have really shit families that fail their kids.
        
        Also pretty clear that Asian’s make much better immigrants than P.Is

        Since the colonization happened in the 19th Century, you would have thought the effects would have been the worst in the early and mid 20th Century. I would have imagined sky-high levels of Maori incarceration 100 years ago, when the memories of colonization were fresh.
        
        How come “colonization syndrome” only became a thing about 10 years ago?

      It’s literally staggering that a senior member of government should be allowed to get away with such blatant lies unchallenged.
      
      How have the Maoris been ‘stripped of’ anything? Quite the contrary. They gave been given literally billion$ of our money to settle imaginary historical grievances and their ‘culture’ has been pandered to and glorified at almost every level of society for decades. There has never been any societal impediment in this country to a Maori getting an education and a job: quite the reverse in fact as we see in preferential grants and quotas given to Maoris in education, health and many other areas.
      
      Despite this, Maoris are still more inclined to be violent and criminal than any other race in society. Not all Maoris are violent criminals, of course, but the tendency is certainly more prevalent than amongst Europeans, Pacific
      Islanders, Indians, Chinese and every other race that lives here.
      
      This man Little is an angry lunatic…. but so many people just nod their heads in agreement with this garbage and don’t speak up for fear of being called ‘racist’.
      
      It’s time to face the facts and speak openly about what’s going on here.

        It is staggering.
        
        The Maoris who are shooting at the “trespassing” surfers are presumably land owners who’ve not been stripped of anything, explain their extreme violence .
        
        The problem with Maori criminality has nothing to do with colonisation and everything to do with urbanisation.
        
        After they came out of their traditional areas in the late 50s and 60s and into the cities came the disconnect and the problems. Then the gangs.
        
        The same thing is happening with PIs. They migrate here and lose their connection with home and family structures and ties and violence and criminality follows.
        
        And before you accuse me of racism the same process occurs in many societies, that’s why there’s more crime in cities than the country side.
        
        Don’t need a PhD to work that one out.

        The Maui factor may be at work too. Little realised until one has lived in the Pacific islands for some time. Maui was a trickster–he gained by taking hidden advantage.
        
        Could we be being exploited by Treaty claims? They got fish; now they want water. Maori could not argue they didn’t get a reasonable exchange at the time. That requires a re-write of the contracts. They also accepted conquest as legitimate–that’s what they did. Are they turning the tables on us now by deceipt? Whakamaui?

        Polynesian “criminality ” has nothing to do with colonization or urbanization.
        It has everything to do with the extreme violence many of them are subjected to from birth (or before).
        The thugs shooting at surfers were living in the sticks.
        A Maori MP said that when they moved to the city, for the first time they could call the (Pakeha?) Police when her dad (subsequently jailed for murder) attacked them.
        There is far more violence in the Pacific Islands than here in NZ.

      But tas we have to wonder how this debate regarding native crime rates ever got to be considered a result of colonization? This is the latest straw being clutched at from so far back there were no straws to be had. Is this the newest line of garbage from the native separatist movement? Is this already being ground into young native criminals diverted to their system of pre-prison process to avoid convictions and any sensible punishment for their crimes?
      There is only one way to adjust the disproportional incarceration rates for natives and that is to do the same as the proportional values applied to party votes. Use an algorithm that declares self claimed natives with 90% plus European blood as being non-maori. It seems at this stage it would just about have it balanced.

      I think Little needs to consider the impact of allowing morons to create excuses like this. Except that he seems to be leading the pack in this regard… Every child is born good. The family and society that the child is exposed to, determines how they turn out. Children from loving families tend not to become psychopathic mass murderers ( there are exceptions…)

Earlier, we had Greg Newbold on RNZ’s The Panel with Jim Mora.

Jim played his hand and described Newbold, after he asserted ‘there’s no ‘Maori Mind’ that’s rubbish’ as being (and I quote) ‘a contrarian’. Basically Newbold said Kelvin and Andy’s summit was a pile of old cock.

I see you Jim! You a Progressive hand wringer! Kept it so well hidden til now.

Anyway.

Just build more prisons Kelvin & Andrew, real big ones because it looks to me like Peter Dutton is on his way and he’ll be wielding a very big stick and sending many more undesirable rock apes home.

And, I would venture, something very special for Jacinta to try and talk her way around.

  Over 50 % of the prison muster is Maori.
  Of those 70% are in gangs,
  Over 80 % recidivism.
  
  Recidivism will continue as long as ex prisoners associate with gangs.
  
  If you want to tackle our prison problem , you’ve got to tackle the gangs.

  Consider the factors in this “Maori” crime.
  Imagine a solo mum raising a family of boys who are all half-brothers. The mum is married to the State, but the boys are desperate for a father figure.
  
  Violence is the answer. Mum’s latest boyfriend teaches the boys to think with their fists.
  
  Then there’s mental health. Maybe the mum didn’t eat too well while pregnant. The boys are impulsive and lack the cognitive ability to link actions with consequences.
  
  Who are the boys’ mentors and father figures? Who do they look up to? Who in their world impresses them?
  
  No responsibility. At school, the boys are taught that they are victims, and it is “not their fault” that the outcomes in NZ are not equal. They are taught that they can never be racist towards the “oppressors” of their “people” who are constantly keeping them down. This helps them to feel good as they terrorize smaller and weaker non-Maori children, and lose whatever empathy to “others” that remains.
  
  The gangs begin recruiting while the boys are too young to be charged as adults.
  
  To deal with this so-called “Maori” problem, you have to deal with ALL the contributing factors.
  – The welfare state that encourages the production of meal-ticket children
  – Fatherless families / multiple-father families
  – Gangs
  – Identity politics and the culture of victimhood
  – The dislocation between crime and punishment (it takes multiple convictions to actually be locked up)
  – What others can you think of?

    I think your point about welfare dependency and fatherless families is an important factor that Greg Newbold has also identified.

      I was speaking to a J-E interpreter the other day. She cannot believe the luxury of the NZ prisons, and the freedoms afforded to the inmates.
      
      The Japanese system has a number of advantages over the NZ one
      – No concerns over “cultural sensitivity”
      – No one saw or heard anything, he just tripped
      – Human rights, Jim? Not as you know them…
      – Rigid discipline
      – Collective punishment
      – Shame (the English word “shame” is inadequate)
      – A strict code of behavior for all prisoners

    low IQ and poor impulse control of the sperm donors. Criminality is highly correlated with low IQ and the associated poor impulse control/consideration of consequences and unemployability. Low IQ is genetic and highly heritable.
    
    You could fix all Maori’s problems in a generation with almost no money by getting baby farmers to use sperm from the smartest 0.1% of Maori men so that the kids have average or above average IQ. Nothing else will work because low average intelligence of criminal/welfare class is the root cause of all their failings.

It’s not the poverty rate (r-value of .59), the illegitimacy rate (.54), the unemployment rate (.29), or the average age of the population (.40), either. It’s not even (quite) the percentage of a state’s population that is black or Hispanic (.648).

        This is all nonsense, UN.
        If Europeans had the huge numbers of kids some Maori families do AND both parents were drunk a lot of the time, their jail stats would be as bad as Maori ones are.
        Look at the families of some of the country’s worst criminals:
        Joseph Thompson, one of 18 kids. His appalling father raped his sisters and rented him out for beer money.
        Taffy Hotene, the youngest of 13 kids, who slept under a house.
        Nia Glassie’s mum: one of 17 children.
        It has nothing to do with IQ.
        I know Polynesian kids whose parents are in unskilled or semi-skilled work who are top students and heading for great careers.
        Their families have several things in common:
        Small family size.
        Parents still together.
        Kids supervised and encouraged in education.
        No or minimal drinking or smoking or family violence.
        I.E. The opposite of most families of criminals.

        Carrot, not stick. Offer the women $50-100k lump sum or higher DPB payments (after dna test proof to prevent cheats) if they get pregnant by highly intelligent sperm donor. State will get the money back many times over in higher taxes + reduced welfare payments of the resulting kids in adulthood. A smart person pays more than a million more in tax over their life than a dumb person.
        
        Strongest predictor/chance for breaking-the-cycle of welfare dependancy and criminality is a high IQ kid.

        *sigh*, Of course there are intelligent people in jail, though generally very few smart people get prosecuted for violent crime (due to better impulse control). They are mostly there for dishonesty related stuff, and it is highly arguable that it is all down to parenting – see for example twin studies where twins raised in different families end up with (mostly) remarkably similar outcomes.
        
        But science and statistics (averages, correlations, trends) is what should inform and drive policy, not anecdote, feelings and outliers.

        Which shows that if you send less people to prison then the disparity between European and Maori incarceration rates is actually likely to increase (counter to SJW intuition), due to a fundamental offset in mean criminality of different ethnicities and the nature of Gaussian distributions.

    White glacial Europe was K-selective. The smart survived. The dumb froze or starved. Fecundity focused on stable, slow growth. Hence, Neanderthal man evolved the capacity for thought.
    
    We have now embarked on a massive global experiment that takes the surplus wealth of European K types and enables r types breed far beyond what they could do if left to their own devices and own environment.

      I am very familiar with evolution, having done scientific research into it myself. I fully understand r/K selection theory, and can say authoritatively that Molyneux does not.
      
      Just like in his videos about IQs, he’s got the causation backwards. The r and K strategies are adaptations to deal with particular selection factors imposed by the external environment. They are not philosophies that determine how organisms WANT the environment around them to be. They’re strategies for dealing with the struggles presented by the environment.
      
      Humans are one of the many species that can switch back and forth between r and K strategies depending on external selection pressures. Our choice of strategy is not genetically predetermined. For instance, humans in poverty or conflict zones are more likely to have their children die in childhood. Thus, those are the people who tend to adopt the r strategy. It just makes sense to go with quantity over quality when random chance can kill off your kids. But in a stable, safe society, the highest quality individuals will dominate. So, if you design a good political system that favors stability, safety, prosperity, and the accumulation of value, then people will choose more often to go with the K strategy.
      
      I want to repeat for emphasis: Molyneux is ENTIRELY WRONG about genes determining whether a person uses the r or K strategy. We are all capable of either one. There is NO self-feeding cycle, where “genetically r” people implement r selection pressures to enhance their reproductive chances. The moment you put those r-strategy individuals into a libertarian system of private property rights, they will start switching over to the K strategy.

Help! I think my daughter might be a leftie. She can sometimes be very jealous and wants to take things off others. She can be repetitive in what she says and often grizzles and moans over nothing. At times she can be completely unresponsive to logic and reason and has a tendency to be loud – often trying to be the loudest in the room.

Should I be worried, or the fact that she is only a 3yr old means she will likely grow up and turn into a normal person.

According to what I am reading, a president can only be impeached for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’. And any possible offending by Trump does not reach to that level.

The further removed misconduct is from the core responsibilities of the presidency, the less political support there will be for the president’s removal from office. This is critical because impeachment is a political remedy, not a legal one. The way the Framers designed the process — which requires just a simple House majority to file articles of impeachment, but a two-thirds Senate super-majority for removal — no president will ever be removed from office absent misconduct egregious enough to spur a consensus for removal that cuts across partisan lines. Such misconduct would surely have to involve either (a) an abuse of power involving core presidential powers; or (b) an extremely serious crime (if unrelated, or only tangentially related, to presidential power).

The conduct here is not of the egregious nature that rises to high crimes and misdemeanors — it is an infraction committed by many political candidates and often not even prosecuted. More to the point, it is remote from the core responsibilities of the presidency, implicating pre-election actions to conceal alleged indiscretions that occurred a decade earlier. And while the president has denied the indiscretions, it is not like the allegations come as any surprise to the public, who, while well aware of his flaws, elected Donald Trump nonetheless.

  Just received a college report with table headings in Pidgin Maori. Ignorant and rude. It does not communicate and the subject of the report was pupils attitudes.     I went to a function recently where 90% of the attendees were european NZers. Unfortunately the local maori tribe were invited and proceeded to burble on endlessly in maori. Nobody had a clue what they were talking about. It did them no favours, just got everyone’s, apart from the sickly white green stone wearers, backs up. Actually it is straight out rude. I can speak Italian and have Italian ancestors, what if I came in and harangued everyone in Italian for half an hour, how would that go down? And I don’t want to hear any rubbish about tangata whenua…they all, without exception, have european ancestors as well.

      I speak two languages- And know a little of several others. (always learning)

There was a time that when our dollar rose fuel would take weeks to drop, on the excuse that oil companies ‘bought ahead’. Our dollar has again risen supposedly on strong consumer spending, and miraculously petrol is cheaper this morning. Is this because the oil companies are wary of this unpredictable government and want to act by the book, or didn’t Judith Collins try hard enough to screw them down when she was last in government?

So Michael Cohen pled guilty to a crime of violating electoral finance laws to the tune of $280k and faces jail time. Back in 2013 the 2008 Obama campaign was fined $375k for $1.8m in violations. By this standard he should have paid $56k in fines. Sounds like Cohen has been screwed, who’s his lawyer oh Lanny Davis, the no. 1 Clinton supporter in America.

Recently I visited a client of mine who has a dairy farm. We had a walk through the yards and I noticed one black cow that was walking very slowly behind the others. It’s looked old and knackered.

I was told that it was known to farm employees as Winston as it was buggered, full of shit and it’s days were numbered.

That really cracked me up.

General comments made by the client confirmed that the COL was definately not a friend of farmers.

The topics of discussion included Trump and the new gas pipeline that is going to shaft the economy of the Ukraine. I think Trump on the campaign trail walked into a trap set by some cunning bastards. We are seeing pressure being put on, calling for the CEOs to resign or bypassing the Board and having secret meetings with employees. I read another report delighted that National was under pressure related to its stance on the “Waka” Bill and facing the risk of losing an MP. This suggested to me that media know that the leak didn’t come from National and the timing was all about making Bridges crack under pressure and soften his opposition to the “Waka” Bill.

The article was putting the pressure on Bridges to reconsider their stance on the “Waka” Bill. What’s up with World Vision pushing New Zealand to intervene in the Australian border-gatecrasher detention centres?

World Vision has launched a campaign calling on NZ to take children of the boat people from the Nauru Centre. To me this campaign seems to be crossing the line into political activism.

The problem for NZ is that cuts across relations with Australia, where a new harder-line politician is threatening to take control of the Government. Australia regards open entry of people from NZ as a back door, and could easily shut this if it thinks NZ is undermining its tight border controls.

World Vision is run by American Evangelist Christians. I found interesting this paragraph in a Wikipedia article on World Vision:

Ian Buchanan, author of “Armies Of God: A Study In Militant Christianity”, has claimed that World Vision is effectively an arm of the United States Department of State.

There has been controversy about World Vision in Israel and Palestine, with accusations money was being diverted to Hamas. The doubts are probably not surprising, given that evangelical Christians, who are behind World Vision, are often strong supporters of Israel. However, WIkipedia reports an inquiry by the Australian Government “came to the conclusion that no Australian taxpayer money was diverted to Hamas.”

In New Zealand, the financial statements of the World Vision of NZ Trust Board show that in its latest reported year (to September 30, 2017), $3.156 million was received in grants from the NZ Government. (The previous year it received $5.554 million from the Government.) World Vision NZ’s income from the New Zealand public, including businesses, for 2017 totalled $39.12 million.

The series of photographs were of German soldiers, captured during the “Battle of the Bulge” wearing American uniforms, and executed by firing squad as allowed by the Geneva Convention.
        
        Wiesenthal copied his picture of “three shot Jews” from this Life photo essay, as can be seen in the illustrations below.

Section 17: The Outrageous Lies and Distortions of the “Kurt Gerstein Statement”

One of the most commonly quoted sources for the “mass gassings” claim is a series of statements made after the war by Kurt Gerstein, a former SS Officer. His statements, now known as “The Gerstein Statement” contain what he claimed were to be eyewitness accounts of mass gassings at camps in Poland…

A selection of some of the more incredible claims in the Gerstein Statements include:
– Gerstein’s first statement said the Nazis had gassed 40 million people—and did not specify that they were Jews. His second statement reduced this figure to 20 million.
– He claimed to have seen, while on a visit to the Treblinka, 8 gas chambers and “whole mountains of clothes and underwear about 35–40 meters high.”
If it is borne in mind that the average height of a house story is 2.66 meters, then an idea is gained of exactly how high 40 meters is—in other words, he claimed that there were heaps of clothes as high as 15-storey buildings. The sheer physical impossibility of such a mountain of clothes proves the statement to be false.
– He claimed to have been present at a gassing near the Polish town of Belzec in August of 1942, describing the “gas chamber” as follows: “The people are stepping on each other’s feet, 700–800 persons to 25 square meters, 45 cubic meters.” This translates to between 28 and 32 persons were crammed into each cubic meter, something which is nearly physically impossible.
This physical impossibility was acknowledged quite early on by the Holocaust storytellers, and the author Leon Poliakov in particular, who in his 1951 work Breviary of Hate, contained a version of the Gerstein Statement which changed the area of the gas chambers to 93 square meters, thus cutting down Gerstein’s figures to a much more believable 7.5–8.6 persons per square meter.

Kues is more of a commentator. When Kues was posting as Laurentz Dahl at the Cesspit, he demonstrated that he was quite inept at handling the historical evidence.
  
  First, necessary preliminaries. Here’s my take on Gerstein’s report(s) (check the original article for more details):
  
  Deniers have long been picking on Kurt Gerstein’s testimony, and some of their criticisms are correct. Dr. Christopher Browning summarizes the correct attitude to this testimony thus:
  Many aspects of Gerstein’s testimony are unquestionably problematic. Several statements he attributes to Globocnik are clearly exagerrated or false, and it is not clear whether Gerstein or Globocnik was the faulty source. In other statements, such as the height of the piles of shoes and clothing at Belzec and Treblinka, Gerstein himself is clearly the source of exaggeration. Gerstein also added grossly exaggerated claims about matters to which he was not an eyewitness, such as that a total of 25 million Jews and others were gassed. But in the essential issue, namely that he was in Belzec and witnessed the gassing of a transport of Jews from Lwow, his testimony is fully corroborated by Pfannenstiel. It is also corroborated by other categories of witnesses from Belzec.

AirNZ announces pre-tax earnings of $540m.

Good on them. But what’s happened to their customer service? I’ve been a regular AKL-WLG flyer for 20 years, sometimes more than four sectors each week. AirNZ’s on-time performance this year has been appalling. At once stage recently 11 of my last 12 flights had departed >20 minutes late (or were cancelled).

My working theory is they’ve changed crew shift /standby rosters, and the instance there’s a network delay (traffic, weather) there are downstream staffing issues for the rest of the day.

      Donald Trump (and only Donald Trump) could legally donate an unlimited amount of money to his campaign, because he was the candidate. Therefore, he would have been in the clear if he had made an in-kind donation to his campaign by paying Daniels directly with his own money. He could also have used money raised by his campaign, including his own contributions, to pay Daniels. (Trump’s campaign took in a total of $333 million, with $66 million of that coming from Trump himself.)
      
      In either case, Trump’s campaign would be required to disclose the expenditure. But according to the Federal Election Commission’s rules, campaign contributions and expenditures made after October 27, 2016 did not have to be disclosed until December 8. So if Trump could have put Daniels off just one more day, there would have been no public paper trail until a month after the election. And even then, the disclosed payment might not by itself expose the wrongdoing

MGTOW, and solving their incel problem.

Matthew Brubaker, 31, Terry Wallace, 41, and Marc Measnikoff, 34, are accused of having sexual relations with at least 9 female horses, a cow, a goat, and several dogs. Police say this happened on their property on Mouse Lane.

A teenage boy, also living on the property, was reportedly forced to assist the men with restraining the animals while they engaged in their acts.

The Clearfield County SPCA was at the property to care for the animals.

Charges are pending against all three men for felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and corruption of a minor. They are also facing misdemeanors including 1,460 counts of sexual intercourse with an animal, and 1,460 counts of cruelty to animals.

      But it seems like inter-species sexual relations are very common.
      (I loathe that expression “bestiality”, unless the beast referred to is the human.)

This weeks most successful beneficiary.

A 70-year-old retired hospital worker faces a $347,408 bill after 20 years of benefit fraud.

The Christchurch District Court was told the woman was struggling to arrange any reparation payments because the police have an order freezing her assets so they can seize them.

Pauline Urana Lowen pleaded guilty to five charges – two of them are representative charges covering dozens of individual offences – in court on Thursday.

Judge David Saunders remanded her on bail for sentencing on December 19, and asked for a pre-sentence report which will consider her suitability for home detention.

Judge Saunders said he would grant bail pending sentencing.

Commissioner of Police had sought a restraining order in civil forfeiture proceedings to freeze all of her assets.

Questioned by the judge, Maze said “domestic disharmony” had severely impaired her decision making.

Take everything and give it to the taxpayer who has been robbed.

    At least they didn’t spit out 14 kids to various gang members to a life of crime and generational benny dependency.
    How much do you think it costs to provide state housing or $1,000 a week motel accommodation for each of a dozen kids of some beneficiaries?

        Yes I do have a problem with taxpayers paying $1000 a week for a motel room.
        They should move somewhere cheaper than Auckland.
        The whole situation is a mess.
        Males get to impregnate females and fail to support their own offspring.
        The mother’s carry on having kids to a succession of guys, expecting the state to provide for their stupidity.
        They don’t bother to educate their kids so they have a hope of independence.
        Some homeless guy of about 60 was on the t.v. recently.
        A dad of 8.
        Why don’t they put their father up?
        Perhaps they are all homeless too?
        He has had 40 years to try and buy a home for his huge family.
        I started saving for a home before I even had kids.
        And I had no qualifications and worked for minimum wage and received no help.

        As for solutions…..
        1) only pay the benny for the first child.
        2) make parents legally responsible for the upkeep of their children until the age of 30, as in Italy. (So they can’t turf their kids out.)
        3) only pay out the benny if the father is named.
        4) DNA test deadbeat dads and jail them if they won’t support their kids.
        5) deduct savings for a modest home in a small town in the provinces from their benny money and give them the busfare to move there.

Yesterday we read David Garrett’s guest post: Gangs are changing alright – for the worst.

From the NZ Herald today:

About 150 people were allegedly involved in a fight at a South Auckland high school this afternoon with sickening footage of the violent brawl circulating on social media. The fight, at Rosehill College in Papakura, broke out about 2pm. There are claims it involved both students and parents.

Two students from the school also reported that the parents were from rival gangs, believed to be the Mongrel Mob and Black Power.

I’d love to know what Andrew Little proposes to do about the gang problem.

Hopefully at the next justice summit talkfest they’ll find time to discuss this as well as Maori crime and colonisation.

    Little hopes to cause a lot of grief for innocent citizens, but the reaction to his insane legal policies could wipe out Labour. It would at least put National into power without the need for a coalition partner.
