I am somewhat depressed.

Over the last few days I have, while working, been forced to listen to slightly inebriated, and therefore being honest, relatively young women detailing how they will vote and why.

It is obvious virus panic lies and sick slogans control this function (thinking it ain’t!).

Those idiots a little over 100 years ago knew not the damage they were doing!

  Even smart well connected business people believe the hype about Covid-19 and global climate change.
  
  Really smart people act so dumb because they believe what they hear. Take Al Gore, the Climate Change evangelist. Back in 2010 he bought a beach front Mansion in defiance of the “rapidly rising” sea levels that do not show up on tidal gauges.
  
  A bit like the Emperor’s new clothes. Only people like Al Gore and NASA’s satellite’s can pick up the “change” in rate of sea level rise.
  
  Us mere mortals, who have not been annonted with special powers have to who rely on those who sit at the right hand of the Climate Change God.
  
  We are told to ignore tidal gauges that show no change in the rate of sea level rise. We are told to ignore the international standard of inches, feet, millimeters and metres, because anointed ones like Al Gore tell us that the space time continuum has warped units of measure and rulers and tidal gauges no longer measure correctly.
  
  Poor man is Al Gore, he must have extreme dementia and forgotten his climate change warnings of extreme sea level rise. He has not yet sold his beach front property.

  Even if she opens the borders who can or will want fly to NZ. Until they get rid of the quarantine and associated charges NZ will be isolated indefinitely. Airfares will be back to the levels 20 or 30 years ago. The best hope for a trip out of NZ for the majority will be Cook Is, and see how that’s going so far.

    Really great movie. And they talk about Bird Flu pandemic being artificially created.
    
    And the lead character played by Hugo Weaving, was one of many ‘lab rats’ used as test subjects in human man made virus tests. Except that he was the only subject that survived, broke out of his cell and burnt the lab to the ground and still survived.
    
    And the movie touches on the deliberate releasing of the virus which become ground zero in the virus spread.

Can continued communications of fear create among a vulnerable population – a whole nation, target 5 million – a form of Stockholm syndrome : a psychological response that develops over the course of captivity when hostages or abuse victims bond with their captors?

Is Jacinda hoping this is true?

According to Radio NZ, “The government contracted 28 individuals or businesses to aid the response to the coronavirus pandemic, the bulk of which were for advertising, marketing and communications needs. As at 31 May, the government had budgeted or paid out $16,393,391 to contractors.

“The majority was to go to two firms who are listed as communications directors by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Clemenger BBDO Limited was to be paid $3m for its role with the response, which involved the clear and concise messaging such as ‘stay home, save lives’. But the biggest earner OMD, a multinational advertising firm that works in more than 100 countries, and touts itself as the world’s biggest media network… was to be paid $12m for its role in the response.”

So it turns out that everything from “the team of 5 million” to the “be kind to each other” messaging was carefully planned, tested and executed […]

“Is communication important? Of course. But do you need to pay $16 million for it? No. This wasn’t simple instruction that any government or group or person can come up with, this was clearly a highly planned, seriously worked over piece of strategy designed for maximum political impact.

“And the irony is, from the advertising agencies point of view, it worked. We got sucked in, followed orders and came out hailing the Prime Minister with a 59 percent share in a poll. Value for money then? Or a master piece of fantastically expensive spin? Again, we were played like a fiddle.”

As a result of these high poll ratings, it has become increasingly clear that Labour’s re-election strategy involves riding its Covid success – and saying as little as possible about anything else.

That would certainly explain the high-profile taxpayer-funded Covid-19 advertising campaign that is currently underway. The implied messaging is: Covid-19 remains a threat, and Jacinda Ardern remains the solution.

This being Labour’s Election stance – by design, or yet still by just unbelievable “pixie-dust” luck – is a tactic which, with more pointed evidence, may be very questionable in relation to the Electoral Commission and party Election expenses, but tied as it is to the country’s well-being in the covid pandemic, it may be difficult to separate the two – the present Labour party policy that replaces all policies (one ring to rule them all), or communications applying to New Zealand’s response to covid.

    And so now Jacinda Ardern says “I would flag to voters not to expect to see the large scale manifestos that are a significant departure from what we are doing”.
    
    But, as much as taxpayers should be pissed off that $16 million is spent by Labour in a way that is indistinguishable whether it is to keep covid at bay, or boost Labour’s Election chances, if Labour provides this void in policies, what does National offer, having the complete media stage?
    
    A few miserable road improvements. That’s a worry.

  Why would you borrow $19Bn to be spent AFTER the election when you are not assured of winning said election, unless you plan to spend the cash BEFORE the election in order to assure a win.
  
  A CEO who is in danger of being voted out at the next 3 year board meeting, borrows 19Bn to be spent after said board meeting, but spends it BEFORE the board meeting (Oh look, we have a pandemic, how timely) in order to sway the board and voting shareholders.
  
  Since they had wind in November of a virus sweeping through China, they had pre-meditation.

Radio NZ goes full communist

Red radio last night around midnight played part 2 of a 3 part BBC series on how covid will change the world.

I can’t find it in their all night schedule but here are the main points:

People are starving in African countries and India because of lockdowns. Tens of thousands were having to walk huge distances back to villages in India when lockdown meant they had no work in the city.

The answer to this, according to the sociologists interviewed and the presenter is not stop crazy lockdowns that impoverish countries.

No, their answer is: state control over the private sector, including grabbing assets from firms, taking from ‘the rich’, and providing UBIs. UBIs even for children, no mention of the fact that people would then see having more children as their best meal ticket: vast overpopulation would result.

And not just UBIs within each country: they want UBIs worldwide. ‘Rich’ countries should be milked to support poor ones.

With this idea of global government control of assets, bbc and radio NZ are promoting worldwide communism.

Not a single word about productivity, that nobody is rich when lockdowns prevent work!

They were almost gloatingly, gleefully rubbing their hands: covid could be this great opportunity to create a better world.

Ok, after hearing them carry on like that I’m almost prepared to believe that this virus has been spread deliberately to scare and guilt people into accepting global control and asset grabbing.

Perhaps the people on the show were pawns in this plan, but they are playing with fire. Their cushy jobs would disappear if we lived under a global communist system. As would many of the freedoms and privacy they enjoy. Do they want to live with a stasi neighbour reporting on their every move?

Again I must point out: they seemed to be utterly ignoring the fact that only productivity can create wealth. They really believed that grabbing and distributing would solve poverty issues.

I despair. This is what national radio has become: state controlled blather promoting global state control.

    The irony is that spend a few hours on the internet and you find gaping holes in the Covid narrative. The general populace are naive because they are content with soundbites that are seconds long, that they believe replace the need for them to have to do any research.
    
    Despite being taught in schools about the tyrants of the past and the gullible public of yesteryear that got them into power, the gullible public of today believe themselves to be far more smarter than the previous generations. They mistakenly believe that covert, nasty, devious, and slippery leaders no longer exist.

Trump is in their way – Soros, Sachs and even our useless betraying Pope in on the act. Michael Matt runs the Remnant Newpaper in Mineapolis, and is a traditional Catholic, so ctritisizes the pope, as many Catholic today do – but ignore the few bits of Catholic stuff if you wish.   Find ‘The Prisoner’ starring Patrick McGoohan on streaming and ponder. During ‘lock down’ we got as close to that scenario as was possible because we had the tightest controls in the world. We got so sheep-like it was scary, nary a complaint from the silent queuing robots. We tolerated Maori road blocks, tangis and Muslim butchers opening with a whimper.

NEVER in all my years of following politics here and in the UK have I ever seen the spectacle of the partner of a political party leader stand up and give a speech extolling that leader’s “virtues” at a Party Conference.

In addition he looked like he had bought his suit from the Op Shop and who wears brown shoes with a blue suit apart from Gayford and Trudeau.

Am currently tripping around the South Island burning money like there is no tomorrow and generally having a great time.
Flight from Queenstown to Milford for a cruise was amazing.. Horse riding, zip lines, some really fun shit.
Day off today which will involve following SWMBO around shops..
Rata for dinner tonight..
A poncy lodge tomorrow night and a chopper tour of a monument to colonialisim, Mt Cook.

But one thing is for sure.. The great tradition of shit Kiwi service is alive and well.

$12 for a beer served in a can because our table was 30 mins late. Asked for a glass for the beer… Looked at me like I had grown another head… Brought me a WARM glass… Loved me even more when I asked for that to be replaced…

After the restaurant went to a bar for a final drink… Walked out after 10 minutes… They took my order and just wandered off…. “looking for a corkscrew”

  I think it’s a classic and they admit it. Page right out of JK’s book and a good prospect for employers. Business section of the Herald reported yesterday that the “bleak” ain’t so bleak, particularly on the predicted business failures.
  In a group I’m in there is an ex-labour staffer, possibly a speechwriter from the 70s or 80s I gather, in nothing to do with what the group is about he sent me a letter he was preparing for the Herald. Well written but no catches for me apart from a phrase suggesting that if a Goverment is going to pay people (the dole), they should in fact be working. That’s how I see the prospects of the revamped National idea for SME’s to train staff. It’s better than the endless institutions that dish our certificates on how to make coffee or toast a crumpet and it’s on the job where the subject has a chance to make a permanent job (and therefore skills) for his or herself.
  A few weeks back on TV I saw a show where trainees were being taught to drive a tractor to fill the shortage of skilled and licenced staff in the rural sector, better than someone off a plane and already licenced to drive on NZ roads.

  I have plenty of dealings with elderly people (some in their nineties) who “work” in voluntary,social-good orgs.
  They raise money for causes, collect and distribute fire wood, fund local projects, do knitting and cooking for needy families.
  They get out of bed every morning and make worthwhile contributions to people’s lives – just as they have always done.

Six year old grandson’s parents received school report.
All about personal social analysis – progress in reading, maths, learning- not so much.
Instead, teacher and kid have to rank stuff like child’s perceptions of their integrity, truth and resilience.
My knowledge of six year olds at school past and present are more along the lines of:
1. What’s in my lunchbox – tiny teddies or iced animal biscuits? Hope it’s iced animals. No.
2. At break time: will I climb or slide? Both.
3. Hope my little brother at home isn’t getting into my special LEGO. Course he is.
4. I want that book about robots but Josie got it first. Whaa.
And so on.
Kids don’t change much but teaching priorities have apparently.

      I was pretty pissy but the wife wouldnt let me go to the school and voice my opinion as I may have already done that once or twice with spectacular results, wife hates the judgy sideways looks from the bot/home and school crew (small country school and theyre our hoity toity rich dairy farm neighbours)
      
      the way the sex ed thing is I think theyll cross my alphabet ppl line soon enough and my opinion will be made very clear.

The Southland firefighters being forced to remove video worries me.

The fact that an anonymous accuser can make an anonymous claim to have been offended and have an anonymous party asking the Fire Service members to remove the post is not due process.

Blair Vining’s (in whose memory this charity drive was established) wife “Melissa Vining said she was not sure of the nature of the complaint, but she was saddened it had offended someone as it was made in good community spirit to support the hospital and all the feedback about the video had been positive”

The fact that Stuff who claim to “we champion Kiwi communities and values” before asking for a donation see fit to publish such a report is laughable.

Wouldn’t our community and values that support common justice principles require the accused to know what the accusation is and who made them. In fact in normal cases (i.e. no special privacy concerns) the community (i.e. public) also has a right to fully hear the full facts of the case and the rationale for the decision.

This is how social justice warriors trample on justice, as it is commonly understood, in the cause of seeking justice for themselves based on warped principles they espouse.

  the fundraising campaign down here has been massive most schools and businesses jumped on board a couple weeks ago and the fire brigade and police were out fundraising yesterday with a great turnout from locals.
  
  Blair Vinning is getting more done from the grave to help kiwis health outcomes down here then the govt ever has! a great man and a great cause.

And prepared to suggest raising the retirement age.

That and our overly short three year electoral cycle might be beyond our politicans to reform

Greens announce new policy they know they will never accomplish. Return to your roots, be a Green Party. I can imagine the headline if greens and labour get back in, “massive landlord sell off underway”.

The Greens are promising their new policy, Homes For All, will deliver warm, dry and affordable homes for all Kiwis.

“Our plan announced today is a bold and cohesive blueprint to ensure we’re all in a warm, dry home, no matter where we live or whether we rent or own,” co-leader Marama Davidson said on Sunday afternoon.
