Te Rauparaha

I watched the interviews with Jacinda and Judith on Mrs Te Rauparaha’s telly last night.

The interviewer told us that Jacinda has been made a saint (‘deified’ was the term used) and that Judith and Brownlee was responsible for stirring up nasty shit regarding trivial border problems.

We also got to see the royal family. Judith apparently has no family.

I’m glad all the confusion has been cleared up by our independent state controlled media.

  And prior to that, the item on one news re NCEA and students that are unable to attend school in Auckland … chippy all worried about NCEA students (nothing mentioned about Cambridge or IB) then next shot is a ‘journalist’ talking to a mum with one preschooler on HP computer and the other on a MacBook – nothing to do with the poor young men and women in our schools with their education completely stuffed …..again…..

the reason there are so many conspiracy theories this time around is the public can see through your most open and transperant bullshit, its likely one of the thoeries circulating has more truth to it then anything the CoL has told us.

jacindas political capital is now getting more erroded with every new crappy excuse and lie, the media attacks on the opposition are becoming more frequent and vile which I interperate as labour are becoming more desperate.

Rumours usually start when there are a few facts available but not quite enough to be 100% certain.

1. Suddenly after the much lauded 100 days and out of the blue Ardern and Bloomfield start talking about being prepared for new outbreaks

2. The Deputy Prime Minister, with all the gravitas of that office, announces very publicly that there has been a quarantine breach

3. The public know that there have been previous multiple breaches of the quarantine facilities

4. There is a string of issues where Ardern has been economical with the truth – going “hard and fast”, PPE gear availability, “enough test kits”, gold standard quarantine etc.

5. Ardern and Hipsqueak are determined to convince the public that the virus came in on frozen goods when the independent experts says it’s impossible and the premises has had no goods arrive from Australia.

6. It becomes obvious that there is too little testing at the border and controls are too lax.

7. A wage earning family group involved takeoff on a spree, staying at up market tourist spots and spending up large.

8. Ardern, and Hipsqueak backed by their compliant media team suddenly come on all heavy about “rumours” – “methinks they doth protest too much”.

That is a lot of dots to connect and a picture is emerging. Potentially still a coincidence. Possibly just bad luck.

But stop blaming Gerry, Judith and the rest of us for starting to think the dots make a very grim and disturbing story.

  Outrageous demands:
  
  The news now says Aucklanders are being advised (not yet forced) to wear masks when outdoors.
  
  This is completely unacceptable to many people, and I have seen no evidence that it is necessary in quiet suburbs, beaches and parks.
  
  The other threat we’re hearing is that they want to ‘fight covid disinformation’.
  
  Are they threatening censorship of theories and opinions they don’t like?
  
  Funny, during the first round they didn’t agree with people recommending masks!
  
  So the Asian trend to wear masks in confined spaces was ’disinformation’ then, but now suddenly it’s masks whenever we step outside?

    The virus doesn’t like the outdoors–UV munts it.
    Why are basic health lessons ignored by people in charge of the nation? Poor levels of Vit. D are not helpful. Anxiety kills and causes domestic breakdowns. The damage from mitigation seems to exceed any value. Is fear helpful except for political purposes.
    The virus containment is beyond that merited for a dose of sniffles, if that, for most.
    Decision making has been fishnchip shop quality.

      Now that they have stopped fudging the stats in the UK, three times as many people are dying from the flu, compared to Corina virus. And the flu deaths count is lower than expected for this time of year.
      
      It would appear, that Covid-19 is far less contagious, and far less deadly than the flu.
      
      I suspect that our Covid-19 “epidemic” is nothing more than a storm in a C cup. Cindy is a flake.

    The decision as to whether wearing masks is beneficial is obviously unclear. We were first advised there’s no evidence of a benefit and now there’s a threat to make them compulsory. It follows that the benefits are marginal at best and yet we are being coerced into wearing them – people alone in cars are wearing them for goodness sake! Society has been frightened into compliance and has suspended all rational thought.

    In the Jack Tame interview Judith said she would make masks compulsory if that was recommended by health experts.
    
    Bloody hell, Judith, not even a word about balancing that against individual rights, other health considerations (eg asthma, claustrophobia, emphysema) or the reasonableness of not wearing masks when 2m distancing is possible?
    
    This really is the end. I looked at Act’s policies but they look extremely vague.
    
    And Judith is not even standing up for keeping all businesses open that can trade safely the way Bridges did.
    
    Collins and Seymour needs to stand up for individual rights and businesses.

      Unfortunately, Cindy acted upon dodgy One Worlder advice very early on about Covid-19, and that it would be the penultimate event leading to One World Order.
      
      More unfortunately, having taken that stance, and the facts not bearing out the hypothesis that Covid-19 was deadly. As the UK is discovering it is weak compared to the flu.
      
      Saddled with a litany of untruths, Cindy’s team have struggled to contain the actual truth from ripping gaping holes in the narrative.
      
      I suspect that this latest “outbreak” comes after suppressing the facts and reports that community transmission was continuing. Then aided by stopping testing in key areas, and allowing the virus to propagate, and then restarting testing to “create” a second wave.
      
      As per the UK case, this custom virus, failed to live up to its designed operational specifications. All hail to whoever designed the human body’s immune system. It has trounced Covid-19, and with it, smashing global hopes of a One World Order, including the hopes of Vladimir Comrade Cindy Ardern.
      
      The Col team hooked their wagon to a locomotive that once started could not be stopped, has reached the end of the line, and is headed over a cliff.

  He already has as far as he is able – by advising the Government House of NZF’s stance to deferring the election. Judith has no doubt informed Government House of National’s stance but would not have made this public. The next move is up to the Governor General – whether to accept the PM’s advice to dissolve Parliament. If the GG accepts the PM’s advice to dissolve Parliament it is ‘game on’ for a 19 September election.

How can the contact tracing system be “gold standard” when it has failed to track the original carrier? If the failure is because only half of tests taken in isolation have been able to be genome sequenced, then why were these tests not redone before the subject left isolation so that sufficient RNA was obtained?

  We have had the “gold standard” contact tracing which cost a few meg for quite a while now.
  
  How many people has this actually identified? Quite likely zero.
  
  First off, consider how this works:
  * The few people that use the app build up a “digital diary” of where they went (by QR code or manual entry).
  * When one of them becomes infected, then their digital diary is retrieved from their phone and is pushed to all the phones of all people using the app.
  * The app then checks the pushed diary against your diary and alerts you if you were in the same place as an infected person.
  
  So, for this to work:
  1) The infected person must have downloaded the app.
  2) They must be using the app.
  3) They must keep entering all their activities (not just those for which there are QR codes).
  4) You (ie person that might have been in contact) must have downloaded the app.
  5) Must be using the app.
  6) Must add all your details.
  
  Chance of one person doing it right is perhaps 1%.
  Chance of both the infected and person who might have been in contact doing it right – 1% of 1% ie one in ten thousand – maybe.
  
  The real hard part of this “tech” is getting the human to enter all their details. Even the most careful user probably tracks way less than 50% of their movements. For example, if you go into Farmers and scan the QR code going in, did you also make an entry for when you left Farmers? Walked through the mall? Were in the carpark? Got home?
  
  The other hard part is the false positives. If you went into one door in Farmers, walked around in just a small area then walked out, you’ll be marked as going into the whole shop. Worse still, you might have scanned the QR code going in. If you haven’t been anywhere else with a QR code, the app probably thinks you’re still there.
  
  This cannot be sorted out electronically and needs to be sorted out by a human.
  
  It would be interesting to see if it really has detected any cases or is it just a prop for the CV19 theatre.

      A BTLE based system could be done in a way that:
      1) Uses signal strength to get a range estimate (ie. can ignore people 10 metres away).
      2) Time how long the person was close.
      
      For example, the basic rule of thumb seems to be that a person needs to be closer than 2 metres for at least 15 minutes to be a high risk.
      
      A BTLE-based solution should be able to build up a “risk profile” or a “dosimeter”.
      
      ie. If you get a 20% risk factor from each of 2 sources then it could potentially add it up and say 40%.
      
      Of course that would all rely on everyone carrying BTLE devices with them all the time and being tracked all the time. No thanks.

    I saw something on Ivermectin a couple of months ago and have been wondering where the testing got to. Apparently it has been tested now and seems to work well.
    
    Looking for further information, but promising. Like HCQ Ivermectin is now out of patent and has been very widely used world wide in treating parasitic diseases. So is apparently not only effective but cheap.

      Seems like genuine crazy stuff, the studies like the Ford Foundation one strongly suggest that HCQ can be very useful in reducing symptoms, so why would it be banned except because the banners want more people to die. There really needs to be a reckoning for these crazed psychopaths banning potentially effective treatments for political reasons.
      
      I don’t know what tests/studies have been done with a Ivermectin, but like HCQ it has been widely used and it’s indicators for non use are well known, plus it’s cheap. Why not fund studies and find out, the doctor proposing it has been right before regarding ulcers.

TVNZ Breakfast had a Pasifika Doctor on this morning calling for the ethnicity of patients with Covid to be published. To me, that would be fair enough. As the doc said, an informed population is better.

So why was Hamish Walker castigated for mentioning the countries of origin of peopel coming back to NZ?

That being said, his receiveing of private information on patients, and what he did with that justified his stepping down, but why was his question deemed racist, when a medical professional can call for the ethnicities of patients to be released, and the MSM give him the time and opportunity to explain why?

If I was Hamish Walker, I’d be livid.

So Mr Hipkins is upset by the online rumour that this latest cluster of Covid19 was started by someone entering managed isolation, says it is fear mongering.
A few thoughts Mr Hipkins
1. You are the minister in charge of managed isolation, via the health dept. So it is indirectly an accusation of YOU. (rightly or wrongly)
2. It is you who are fear mongering by suggesting that imported frozen food may be the culprit.
a. Nowhere in the world have they suggested this.
b. You have produced NO scientific evidence for this possibility.
c. Warfies don’t touch the frozen product, just the containers they come in, neither do truckies. Most devanning (emptying of containers) occurs in MAF approved areas on the companies site (since before the dept was called MAF) Yes I know it’s called MPI.
d. As to fear mongering, it is YOU who is fear mongering, risking the whole frozen food market, when Mrs Jones becomes too afraid to touch her frozen peas for fear of catching Covid19.

  Yesterday we had an epidemiologist from Auckland stating that covid 19 was extremely infectious and easily transmitted. A few weeks ago we had an epidemiologist in the UK claiming that it was nowhere near as infectious as claimed and less than 15% of people within the “bubble” of an infected person actually caught the virus.
  
  We have a family of 7 with 4 infected so over 50% but how long had the virus been wityhin the home before aal 4 were infected.
  
  I am tired of the bullshit, the inflated figures, relevant and irrelevant, I am tired of cindy’s kindy and we need to grow up and get this virus into our community and deal with it as we have dealt with all previous manifestations of this bug.
  
  We also need to get rid of ardern but that looks like a job for another day.

Winston on 1 News, yesterday evening –
The rumour you seek on social media is not my rumour.
Is not sustained by me, even though they can claim it is mine.

So is Winston’s rumour still out there?
Delivery was supposed to be two days ago.

The Guardian, UK, tells its international readers –
Peters said he received the information from a trustworthy source minutes before speaking to the ABC, and had shared it with the television station before informing senior government officials, or the prime minister, Jacinda Ardern.

Having said “… I think there’s been a breach inside our quarantine system”, Winston states the obvious, because unless it is the spontaneous outbreak of a totally new virus that is the same as the existing one, it has had to cross the border, which supposedly is totally monitored – so, yes, a “breach inside our quarantine system”.

But to add “I think, when that comes out very shortly, in a matter of maybe less than a day, we’ll find out that was the case “ alerted people to pay attention to social media, and by it’s timing believe the shit offered there was to some degree authenticated by Winston, who was either ignorant of the “daughter visiting the returnee” story (as would be Winston’s “reliable” journalist) or morally lacking (as would be Winston’s “reliable” journalist) in not distinguishing between that rumour and his own rumour.

Winston shared the existence of his rumour with Patricia Karvelas’ Australian ABC 24 News audience only minutes after being informed of it – so presumably did so without substantiating it – and before informing senior government officials, or the prime minister, Jacinda Ardern.
So Winston has obviously done less in this matter, than Newshub’s Lloyd Burr, who was the first to approach Winston to ask reasonable questions to substantiate a rumour he had been given to check out.
Winston’s reaction to that – resurrecting a “done and dusted” completely private issue – may have caused some damage to his reputation, not from its content which was sorted to the satisfaction of the department concerned, but in his handling of it, any subsequent negativity was self-inflicted damage.

Now Winston’s handling of his quarantine rumour and entangling himself in the other story – “a number of “‘vile slurs’ “, that were “not only harmful and dangerous” but “totally and utterly wrong” – show he has learnt little from a $317,818 lesson, and any damage to his reputation is again self-inflicted.
I think, so just an opinion.

  Our freedoms are our right, subject to limitations prescribed by law which are demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society. I think the Govt. needs to bear those qualifications carefully in mind before they go all nanny state on us. Not only do the limitations have to be legal, but also demonstrably justified. That’s a high bar, and locking down an economy without reasonable grounds is a breach of our rights, whether the rabble are happy to go along with it or not.

      One reason it concerns me, Kev, is that if you go onto the Covid-19 government website (the sole source of the truth) there are documents available to access. There is group of modelling documents upon which the Government relied in lockdown and then elimination decisions. Those appear not to have been updated since March. Much has happened in the world since then, and yet it seems likely that the strategy to date, including the recent move to level 3, continues to be informed by out-of-date and arguably wrong material. So the question is whether there are new modelling documents? If not, why not? And is it demonstrably justified to make a decision which deprives people of their rights without an informed consideration of the current evidence? And finally, if new evidence is being considered, why are we not being told what it is?

        Just for completeness sake, this quotation is an extract from one of the modelling reports in March:
        “Due to the high levels of uncertainty with
        some of the parameters used in this modelling work, it should be regularly repeated as new
        information on the epidemiological characteristics of COVID-19 become available.”
        There seems to have been no “regular” or, indeed, any repetition. Is that a proper basis for decision making?

Does anyone else know of the “Border Pass” that people resident outside Auckland need to be able to commute to and from their work in the new “Auckland Zone”?
Just had a staff member advise that a cop at the “border control, where he was stopped for an hour and a half on his way home from work in Manukau yesterday, told him that he needed a “pass” if he was going to cross the border regularly. This “pass”, according to the cop, was available by applying online. When he asked for the URL he was told to “Google it”.
Really?
Apologies if the above doesn’t make me feel KIND towards our leaders……..

A very concerning issue that has avoided any scrutiny is the dual role being played by Chris Hipkins – both Minster of Health and Minister of Education.

Both offices a hugely demanding in time, effort and application. They require a great deal of ability and experience. At no time in recent history, if ever, have two such significant workloads been placed in the hands of one person. It is simply not possible for such complex and onerous offices to be covered adequately by one person.

What does this tell New Zealanders about the issue?

1. The Coalition has such an abysmal lack of capable MP’s that they could not find anyone else to do the job.

2. The Prime Minister, who handles such appointments, considers one or both of these critical offices and the sector they represent as not important enough to have their own Minister.

3. Labour is arrogant enough to believe that the people involved in the health and education sectors are sufficiently enchanted with Labour not to criticise them for not having their own Minister

4. That the Prime Minister is determined that no individual in her cabinet will be allowed to outshine her or encroach on her tight inner circle of controlled comrades – Robertson, Woods and Hipkins.

I tried for over 2 hours to download the contact tracing app the other day and when it said my device was incompatible I emailed the health unit. Last night they advised that Androids and Iphones were set up for it but not Huawei hones. So even if QR codes are made compulsory they still wouldn’t be able to track me. That’s not gold standard surely.

  The application framework that they used to write this app only works with newer iphones and Android phones – not all of them.
  
  The main purpose of getting an app out there was to get an app out there. Actually working is something else.

    Traces doesn’t mean they’re viable though. Would have thought being frozen would dry out viruses which is known to destroy them and the expansion of water molecules left inside the virus envelope into ice crystals would burst the envelope. All of these would leave the virus DNA fragments behind, triggering the test.
    
    What has Souxie Wiles got to say about the likelihood if this virus surviving being frozen?
    
    Or does she stick to commenting on things outside of her expertise such as epidemiology?

It is an appalling fact that the Deputy Leader of the Labour party is Kelvin Davis who is the shining light of incompetence chosen for his ethnicity and nothing else. Robertson, Woods, Hipkins and Parker are really the only cabinet members there that can be trusted to do anything like a reasonable job. The rest are so far in the distance they are invisible.

Although full marks to their Customer Service guys. They went to the trouble of personally telling me i didn’t have a winning ticket, AND wished me “….better luck next time”.

Our friend’s mum had a bad fall and has been hospitalised in Auckland for the last week.

Our Friend is her sole child and has lived with her most of his life and has been her caregiver now that she is old (94 years) and frail.

He hasn’t been able to visit her for the last 4 days.

    Re: your Q yesterday about the Swedish Dr. (sorry I only just saw it, I’m in a different time zone to you)… Hard to tell, seems like some people have some sort of lasting [but don’t kid how long – max follow up I’ve seen is 90 days] immunity from both B and T cells, but we also know that there have been those re-infected after ~3 months. The thing is, if follow up is based on antibody tests the IgG and IgM will have faded after a while anyway so Px may “test” negative, but have memory B and T cells that allow them to fight off the virus when re-challenged.
    
    IMHO there is now a critical need to identify the what, why and how of the people that get re-infected (and percentage) to see if herd immunity is achievable. Also, the median length of time for re-infection, so we realistically understand how long a vaccine might last (again IMHO I don’t think permanent vaccine like for measles, whooping cough or even the 10 year protection of tetanus will be achievable, but I would LOVE to be wrong on this).
    
    Lastly, remember I’m primarily a PHARMAchick (though did start to in HIV – who knew that would come back to be so valuable? rhetorical), and I think good drugs are achievable as well.

Some thoughts on the “gold-standard” contact tracing. Was it gold standard because of Labour List candidate’s tick ? More like her kiss of death.

Current reports suggest that the pacific island family is being considered the Index case/family. Why ? Simply because they happened to be the first one to be confirmed ? Anyway, if interviews with them cannot identify where they got it from, it is possible they are still lying about their contacts.

But there is a more likely scenario. Any one of the currently known cases in cluster that are being assumed to have contracted it from the index family could actually be the source from which the so called “index family” themselves contracted it from i.e. they could be a prior case and hence the true index case. The fact they were identified later in time does not mean they actually contracted it later. As far as I know there is no way of “aging” the virus to say who got it first. This is an assumption which does not seem to be getting consideration in the contact tracing being undertaken.

If the above scenario is indeed playing out, then the Gold Standard contact tracing is heap of shite based on a ridiculous assumption.

  I would not teach them. I will not teach large classes (my largest is 230) in person this term (Sept-Dec), but then I don’t have to, my Institution is 100% online apart from very small (mostly post grad and final year) classes and labs, mostly <20 in lecture theatres/labs that normally have room for 80 more.

We must not be ‘vile and nasty’ to the family of seven say MOH and Government.
The only reason they are even known about, is the fact we are using the ‘elimination’ approach.
Therefore, any ‘vile and nasty’ comments are, at least largely, the result of MOH and Government actions.
Otherwise, they would just be part of the tally of those affected.

Just received an email from David Seymour re the revised election date and the expense involved in the delay.
The paragraph below was part of the email :

“There is much for voters to consider. This election is not just about a lack of testing, poor contact tracing, and border bungles. The question is more fundamental: If we can’t afford more lockdowns, and we don’t want to be like Sweden, then how can we go forward intelligently? ACT will be providing that answer.”

At last! Acknowledgement that hard choices lie ahead, but I don’t recall hearing anything similar from National. Have I missed something or are they, like Ardern, too petrified to put reality in front of us all in case it loses them the election.
A plea to politicians of all stripes: The time for honesty like never before, is with us now.
Be leaders – not lackeys. I think you’ll find that us kiwis can deal with the truth.

  I’m a National or Act voter, but neither is really standing up for freedom and business.
  
  A few nice words in that Act email but when I checked the site there wasn’t anything strong for exactly how to protect individual rights and keep businesses open.
  
  None of them dare propose herd immunity. Collins has clearly spoken against it several times (NZ can’t do it she said in the Tame interview, and in another interview she though NZ wouldn’t stomach it, which may be true). In fact Collins promises an even worse police state with compulsory masks if health advisors want that. Nothing about ‘only in busy areas’ or something like that.
  
  And we know that health advisors will have only one concern: that nobody, ever, catch covid. Show me something more reasonable by dr Reti.

  Has any MSM journalist asked Cindy directly that if NZ declared covid free for over 100 days and now has community transmission, would the PM accept that there could only be three possible causes.
  
  1. NZ was never covid free.
  2. A breach of the border, be that at airports, ports, or MIQs.
  3. Imported via frozen goods.
  
  What would the PM consider the most likely cause?

  She believes NZ overall doesn’t want herd immunity and she may be right.

Also Hipkins, at 1 pm: all border workers including quarantine hotel staff have now been tested, and that’s the truth because you heard it from me at 1 pm.

Also Hipkins at 1 pm the next day: only 60% of Jet Park staff (main Auckland quarantine hotel) have had a test.

The most open and transparent government. Ever.

Also Hipkins at 1 pm: Air crew from Australia and Hong Kong aren’t required to have tests, even though numerous countries have required people to have negative test results before being allowed to go to /from HK, and FedEx pilots have called for freight flights to be suspended.

So Robbo has announced his “Resurgence Wage Subsidy” only 2 weeks of staff pay. I’m in Auckland and shut completely for 2 weeks, why would I apply for this when I can now apply for the 2nd extension wage subsidy which is 8 weeks lump sum instead of 2 weeks. Ill have had the required 40% drop in income (closed for half august compared to last year) This seems daft what am I missing?

  This chap murder 51 people, including women and children, in a place of worship, whilst they were worshiping.
