When are the Political Editors like Luke Malpass, Jessica Mutch McKay, Tova O’Brien and Journalists Audrey Young, Clare Trevett and many more going to concentrate on getting the truth out there and informing the Public of tha blatant lies our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is telling.
It seems that today’s Journalism is politically corrupt with those that work in the industry more concerned about there own Jobs than calling out our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern over blatant lies because they have seen others lose their jobs.
This week again it’s all about smearing Judith Collins which is totally wrong when Labour already have a advantage from the election, but no thats not enough you need to also give them more advantage to pass stupid racial laws that benefit Jacinda Ardern agenda to devide New Zealander’s.
As much as I hate to say this it’s just as well we have two leading New Zealand senior Journalists and breakfast host Mike Hoskin and Barry Soper trying to give New Zealander’s the truth.

  As for Judith Collins, I really hope she doesn’t bring Covid into Parliament today. There was ample opportunity to have question time over Zoom, but unmitigated hubris seems to have won the battle over public health. Should this bring covid back to Wellington there should be hell to pay.

      As soon as she found out about the outbreak she leapt onto the first available flight out of Auckland, where she had been spending time at a “location of interest.”

      Jacinda this morning said National and Act are putting the whole country at risk forcing parliament to sit, I really think this is an over exaggeration, I go to the supermarket every week with hundreds of complete strangers, parliament will be about 100 people max and they will have strict rules, no different to working in a food production factory with 100 people.     Hosking is not a journalist and does not, and has not described himself as one. In fact, he says he is not a journalist. I guess this is why he gets to say what he thinks, and doesn’t have to cow-tow to an editor. Journalists are notoriously (and proven – there has been more than one study done on this in NZ) supporters of the left side of political ideology, and this is one of the reason’s they are unpopular and not trusted. On the other hand, Hosking says things that he sees, and that is why he is so popular, the things he says resonate with many NZ’rs.

    I dont think there’s any risk to Collins bringing COVID. Thats a bit dramatic. MP’s are essential workers and are entitled to do this. They will need to decide if the PR of doing so is worth it or not. But thats on them to sell to the public.
    
    The pressure will be however on Collins and Seymour to make it count and to prove it is worthwhile to have question time rather than last week’s select committees with Ministers in attendance. The public will be watching today more than normal, so they need to make sure they actually land some good hits. If they cant they will look like a joke.
    
    My prediction – Seymour will rise the occasion and Collins will flounder.

  1. Two weeks since reported Covid in the community, where was the real source of the community leak? Have the scientists identified it? Or is it a case that St Ash and PriNZess don’t want to say, because control at the border is still poor?
  2. We never got told the truth about the outbreak in August last year, why?
  3. What was the truth about the cases in the community in February, isolated cases that did not lead to prolonged lockdowns, why?
  4. During the latest outbreak, Jacinda (and her ministers), St Ashley and other leading bureaucrats have been quick to point to racist rants against the Sth Auck Pacific Island communities. Other than the aforementioned people and the wayward BoP DHB, I and MrsHK (who is a member of numerous FB sites) haven’t seen any racist rants. So who is it, and surely such people would be held up as examples of hate speech, so is there really a lot of racist ranting out there? or once again, is it Hacinda’s spinmeisters looking to point hatred at National/Act supporters?
  5. Why the scapegoating of Judith and David about the convening of Parliament? 500 plus cases in Auckland and 14 in Wellington, do not stop people travelling to Wgtn from different parts of the country, it didn’t stop Jaci da flying to Wellington on 17th Aug, or those who travelled during the 48 hour window “to get home”.
  6. There is enough evidence to show that Jacinda and co have been “inging” over the vaccination roll out. When will NZ get enough vaccine and what about the evidence that further booster shots are required after 2 doses?

    The testing process itself creates dna through the random error occurring during dna copying. Only on reading the lab workers teaching manuals will you discover that outside dna is added as well to the sample.
    
    As in the body so in the lab, the natural copying of the dna strands are not always right, hence mutations and those too could be from the added dna.
    
    When a dna strand is copied over itself more than a billion times the natural random error may produce a dna fragment which could match one being looked for in the test.
    
    The WHO has pointed out re-tests are needed for validation. I recall in the space flight days they had multiple signal indicators which had to agree so an error was not acted on. It’s becoming apparent the larger the number tested at any time the larger number of positives reported. These are not clinical observations but unseen and only numbers from the lab.
    
    Effectively randomly created dna may be reported as a positive and a person locked down accordingly. To do that requires a better quality of evidence.

The list you ask for would certainly be shorter than all the words she utters each day but with the need to include the gist of all her statements I don’t think it could ever be called “succinct”.

Maria Bartiromo on Fox News – “Sunday morning futures” notes the fecklessness of Joe Biden to shut the air base at Bagram. A base that was well fortified and from which the US military could exert some control over the region. From Bagram they could have safely evacuated everybody.

President Trump’s withdrawal was conditions based and during the peace process no US personnel were killed. The Taliban knew that if they crossed the line that Trump would take action.

Biden came in and ripped up the plan. He closed Bagram and withdrew the military forces and relied on the Taliban to protect the US civilians during the withdrawal. We know how that turned out.

Biden’s military gave the names of afghans who were working with the US to the Taliban! The Taliban are going house to house looking for those people. How’s that going to turn out?

According to House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy there are hundreds of Americans that are going to be left behind in Afghanistan. Who would bet against another hostage crisis?

This is a debacle that makes Custer’s last stand look like military genius. Those who thought that Biden would bring stability to US foreign policy couldn’t have been more wrong. The man is way past the time where he should be holding any position of responsibility greater than organising the Fri night happy hour at his rest home.

    Yes, I agree 100%. It was always going to be a mess and a hard thing for American pride to swallow.
    
    But there’s mess and MESS. It really didn’t have to be a complete cluster like this.
    
    They could have pulled the civvies out first.
    They could have destroyed their left over equipment.
    Everyone knew the Afghan Army is crap and that they could not hold. Everyone knew that all the toys they gave to the Afghan Army would be in Taliban hands in short order. Expecting them to step up and stall the Taliban was crazy.

The US was hardly going to destroy the Afghan Army gear when they are still fighting, which they were up till about 3 weeks before the end. The final collapse (basically mass surrender or desertion) of the Afghan Army was far faster than anyone predicted. Certainly the senior leadership of the US Army didn’t see it coming. They have specifically stated that. By then it was too late to destroy the equipment. Which I might note is largely pretty conventional infantry gear.
      As for the Airforce, well, I predict the only aircraft that will be flying by the end of the year will be the Mil 17. In any event about half the aircraft are flown out to Uzbekistan, including all the Tucano’s.

        Since the Afghan Army was a complete basket case of uselessness and corruption, it was being held together and managed almost exclusively by the Yanks. Therefore this was equipment under American control and it is splitting hairs to say it was Afghan Army equipment.

        Corrupt officers were taking pay for ghost troops who existed only on paper to score a salary off the Americans.
        
        Everyone with half a brain knew they would all desert as soon as the Americans pulled out. They were all there for the paycheck (if they bothered to turn up). No military discipline worth jack. No sense of responsibility.
        
        Leaving equipment in a situation like that, in an outfit like that is abandoning it to the Taliban.

        With all their intelligence assets could they really get it so wrong?
        If so, it was wilful ignorance. The observations of those on the ground (eg. troops involved in Afghan training) would have told anyone that asked that these were never going to be real soldiers.

      June….triple your force in Afghanistan, secure all routes of advancement by the Taliban. Secure Bagram airbase. (make sure ALL prisoners at Bagam are secure)
      July secure corridors from all cities and locations of US citizens and families and Afghan helpers.
      August move ALL to Bagram and fly them out, collapse the defensive perimeter back on Bagram and remove your troops
      NB
      All under the cover of absolute air power.
      The Taliban may not have taken the country by end of Sept.
      
      BUT personally for me, I would not have started the actual evacuation until Nov. and used the cover of winter, delaying the Taliban till Feb 2022 and allowing the Afghan army time to prepare, all the time offering over the horizon air cover.

  It was sad and disturbing to the see the US leave Afghanistan with its tail between its legs like a whipped dog leaving behind US citizens and those who held the US forces for 20 years for the Taliban to hunt down and slaugther.
  History will judge Biden and Harris as a weak leadership whose actions lead to a ramp up of terrorist activity around the world including in NZ.
  
  I predict we will see terror attacks by Muslims in NZ in part as revenge for March 15 and also to distabilise our society.
  
  Just as our so called security didnt stop March 15 so they wont stop these attacks. There were security risks among those let in after March 15. They will have been biding their time waiting their orders to attack. Those orders will now be given.

      You’re forgetting the other side of the equation … what was the next best alternative to withdrawal?
      
      The intelligence advice was to withdraw, because the alternative was to have another “surge” to stiffen up the ANA who had otherwise been steadily losing ground to the Taliban. So the reality on the ground in Afghanistan was either “go home, or go large”. No one had an appetite for go large.
      
      Meanwhile, Afghanistan was a distraction with no strategic value for the US. Better to direct the resources to issues such as China & Russia that are more strategically critical. Both China & Russia would love for the US to be embroiled in Afghanistan for another 20 years. Better to cut your loses and re-focus on the important stuff.

        Just because (you believe) Afghanistan has “no strategic value” for the US doesn’t mean they should not do the right thing.
        
        They were always going to withdraw, as I understand it the target date was in November, which gave them enough time to prepare. preparations should have included ensuring all US citizens were given the time and opportunity to get out before the troops were withdrawn, and the same for Afghani interpreters, supporters and civilian workers, of whom there are thousands.
        
        The same holds true for your allies – Biden’s desperate desire to exit Afghanistan in defiance of his own security intelligence advisers also caught the UK and Australia on the back foot. I’d say the same for New Zealand but under Ardern we’ve been on the back foot for almost 4 years.

        Not to forget too that the US (and other Western democracies) have diplomats for “doing the right thing” but that isn’t the job the military are paid for.
        
        No one should have been caught unawares by the US withdrawal … the deal Trump made with the Taliban was that the US would be gone by the end of May, but Biden delayed things till the end of August. The State Department was telling US citizens to get out from the start of this year.
        
        What did catch people unawares was how quickly the Afghan government and military surrendered to the Taliban.

      At Question Time, Ministers have to answer follow up questions so people can judge how on top of their portfolio and current issues are. Remember how Ms Curran got done in. If done on-line, the Minister would be surrounded by flunkies to give the Minister the appropriate answer. Jacinda is just a trainee Biden who gets very confused when the question is one she hasn’t prepared for.
      Spending all day in multiple meetings implies you are just a bureaucrat who is probably more of a hindrance than a help to the process. Do you have pointy hair like Dilbert’s manager too? Or are your meetings just Labour Party focus groups?

    It’s now decades since public services like education and health care started supposedly adapting their training and practices to provide better services to Maori.     Well do something about it – go to https://againstracism.hrc.co.nz/ and answer their questions. Explain to them (as I did) that only racists see race everywhere, that there are no racist systems, that there’s no evidence of “systemic racism” other than what’s being enacted in front of our very eyes, and to stop daming Maori with low expectations and treating them as victims.
    
    If enough of us do it, nothing might change but they’ll realise there’s pushback from ordinary New Zealanders.
    
    I also pushed back on the whole “Aotearoa New Zealand” bullshit – there’s no such fricken place.

    My brother and his wife headed over to the Gold Coast in July to see her daughter and their grandchildren. The younger grandchild hadn’t even been born when they were last in Australia. They were there for 48 hour, planning on staying for six weeks, when the bubble got cancelled, so they had to abort their trip and head home whilst thyey could. Their story is far from unique, but I’m sure you already know that, and just want to repeat a smear.

Remember when you get a vaccine your two doses take a few weeks for those to be effective, so we need to respond to this outbreak using Level 4 contact tracing and testing. All those other things and not rely on vaccination. None the less we need to make sure we continue the vaccination programme and use the fact that people are taking up the vaccine during the outbreak to make sure we get really high rates of protection and out-perform those other countries. But Ryan, I don’t want to give the impression that we are not working very hard to make sure we have vaccine available now and in coming years. Here we all are locked down, suffering serious economic loss, deprived of essential social interaction, medical procedures delayed causing more deaths than Covid. And they ar scared that we will find out that for purely political theatrical reasons they are not using best practices treatments on patients with Covid ?
      
      My understanding is that unless you need hospital treatment you get no treatment at all except Panadol for headaches. No recommendation for Vitamins C or D, no zinc, no anti-clotting agents in small doses, no antibiotics for associated infections, and no harm reducing drugs like Ivermectin. Plus no (known) plans to deploy monoclonal antibody treatments, or anything.
      
      The explanation that best fits their neglect is that they want the “pandemic” to last as long as they can, but that would be too cynical really.

      Most folks manage to survive after being infected with this virus…their bodies are equipped to deal with the infection…
      
      Was it because they responded to their initial symptoms by resting up, taking lots of liquids, keeping warm, taking medications, etc?
      
      If our hospitals become overloaded, we’ll all have to start remembering how to look after ourselves and loved ones when we have nasty influenza symptoms.

    The safety assertion is based on a model-driven assessment of the risk across the whole population.
    
    Two problems with that:
    
    1. Population-based risk only exists in statistician’s snazzy models. An individual’s actual risk is unique, and it will vary from the population average.
    
    2. Other that gender, there are no details (age, comorbidities) published in respect of this death so every New Zealander is expected to accept the population-based risk assessment, rather than arrive at their own assessment.

It’s well known that the Pfizer & Moderna vaccines can cause myocarditis but so far no one seems to have died from vaccine-induced myocarditis in at least the UK and USA. Lockdowns Killed More Canadians Under 65 Than COVID-19

The Canadian government agency reviewed the number of deaths between January 2020 to April 2021 and concluded that 5,535 Canadians under the age of 65 died because of “indirect consequences” due to the pandemic.

Over the same time period, 1380 Canadians in the same age group died because of COVID-19 itself.

“Beyond deaths attributed to the disease itself, the pandemic could also have indirect consequences leading to an increase or decrease in the number of deaths due to various factors, including delayed medical procedures, increased substance use, or a decline in deaths attributable to other causes, such as influenza,” the report says.

Most of the people who died from COVID-19 in Canada were over the age of 85 and had dementia, Alzheimer’s, chronic heart disease or other pre-existing “cardiovascular and respiratory conditions.”

Nine in 10 deaths had a secondary cause listed on the death certificate.

Canadians have been victims of some of the strictest public health orders in the world, rivalling communist countries like China.

        Children born during the pandemic score markedly lower on standard measures of verbal, motor, and overall cognitive ability, US researchers have found.
        
        In a longitudinal study of 672 children from Rhode Island that has run since 2011, those born after the pandemic began showed results on the Mullen scales of early learning that corresponded to an average IQ score of 78, a drop of 22 points from the average of previous cohorts.
        
        The study, which was funded by the US National Institutes of Health is awaiting peer review before publication in JAMA Pediatrics. But a preprint copy is available online.
        
        The researchers have largely ruled out a direct effect of the virus, as mothers or children with a history of testing positive for covid-19 were excluded from the analysis.
        
        Instead, the authors say, reduced interaction with parents and less outdoor exercise are likely culprits, along with effects that occurred during pregnancy.

His home is at Pukekawa, close to Rangiriri, and he has been paying Waikato District Council rates and Waikato Regional Council rates; but he is deemed to be an Aucklander, so he cannot travel south.

    I presume the great majority of recent vaccinations will be first jabs. This seems to be borne out by the data you have presented which has 44% of the New Zealand population with at least one jab.
    
    If the government could do 100,000 per day, just about the whole population over 12 could be vaccinated with at least one jab by end of September. A test for them, especially with all the discussion about supply.

Testing numbers
Yesterday, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was asked specifically if she was satisfied with the level of testing in the community, and whether that was a possible reason case numbers had dropped.
“There were times, of course, where 10,000 we would think was a fairly solid number. Sunday has always been a bit lower.”
Between August 22 and the following Sunday, community testing numbers dropped from 34,454 to 15,065.

Bloomfield put a brave face on testing figures yesterday, pointing to the country’s seven-day rolling average – including those from managed isolation and quarantine hotels, presumably – of 34,620.

Ehlana, – some basic principles to help understand Ardern-speak:

“Measure” must not be used in any context involving empirical assessment. The term may only be used if if the assessment criterion is “feelz”. “Measure” is banned if capable of numerical assessment such as 100,000 houses, or so many (specify a number) children removed from poverty or so many days before cancer patients receive treatment.
“Feelz” is the glow that you experience when you see a smiley face on the cover of Women’s Weekly.
Words need not have meaning. Flow is important as is rhythm of delivery. Most importantly, facial expressions deliver the message. Look for smiley face, grumpy face, and, especially, sincere-face-defying-contradiction. Sincere face is the irrefutable proof that she is, indeed, the pulpit of truth.

On a completely separate matter, it seems that the government’s planned phase out of Natural Gas is already having absurd consequences. It was reported today that the government rejected a bid for new Cook Strait ferries which would have operated off Methanol. A reason for this noted by Kiwirail’s CE as “the future availability of natural gas in New Zealand” …this highlights the foolishness in the Climate Change Commission and the Government’s proposals about the future use of Natural Gas. A government agency has opted for a more environmentally damaging fuel because of government decisions which have been presented as being for environmental reasons.

    I still remember very clearly at the beginning of 2020 that the drought which started in late 2019 (the yearly rainfall in 2019 was 50-79% of normal across Northland, Auckland, the Bay of Plenty as well as parts of Waikato, Hawke’s Bay, the Wairarapa and Marlborough, according to NIWA) began making headlines. There were the stories of people on water tanks in Auckland and Northland running out of water, waiting for six or eight weeks to get a tanker fill IF they could find a tanker willing to deliver. Parts of the upper North Island had recorded less than 10 per cent of what was typical for that time of year, and northern Auckland, Great Barrier Island and southern Northland were assessed as experiencing a “severe meteorological drought”. Then Covid came and pushed those stories off the front page.
    
    But meanwhile, Watercare blithely acted as if nothing was wrong. Oh, in February they *ASKED* people to be mindful of their water use, but said it wasn’t about saving water or going without; no, it was just about “using water wisely so we make the most of our existing infrastructure.”
    
    It wasn’t until the 16th of May that Watercare FINALLY dragged themselves into action and banned outdoor hoses and water blasting devices – nearly a YEAR after it started becoming obvious to anyone with even a passing interest in water that Auckland was in trouble.
    
    Man I’m glad I live in Rodney and thus am on water tanks. It means I don’t have to rely on these incompetent morons to supply me with water.

  A very unscientific survey really. I was at my locall mall this morning hopefully to do some grocery shopping but supermarket closed. However, in the same mall there is a vaccination centre and whilst I walked through the mall, there were two queues, each about a hundred or so meters long. If these people had been on KB yesterday, they would also have down-ticked the survey response mechanism, thus a vastly different survey outcome eh?
  I liken this practice to political polls where the survey is done in a demographic which will produce the desired result and/or the questions asked also contribute to the desired result if conducted outside a favorable demographic.

    It does look like Novavax is a better vaccine. But not remarkably better than Pfizer, so I’d have thought it’s not worth waiting for several months to get it while meanwhile being at risk of a bad outcome if you contract Covid.

The House members are part-timers with other jobs – not full-time professional politicians.

I booked my (and partners) jab yesterday and got booking for this morning. The place was packed and humming.
Lady said they got the nod yesterday to open it and put it up for booking at 3 pm by 7 pm it was booked solid for 2 weeks.
I counted 12 staff , 3 on meet and greet, and 3 pods of 3 dealing with jabs and 15 min cool down period.
Approx 2 mins per jab per pod. So say 6 hours at it with 3 pods doing 30/hr is 500 odd jabs a day.
Pretty slick and easy overall.

Yesterday after the announcement the Herald had conditions of level 3 published and said no change to last time. Did not include masks in public places of business. Then 1 hour later it had changed the page.

China, from tomorrow, bans those under 18 from playing online video games entirely between Monday and Thursday. On the other three days of the week, and on public holidays, they will be allowed to play only between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m That is, for one hour a day from Friday to Monday.

Online video games hosts will be required to connect to an “anti-addiction” system operated by the National Press and Publication Administration.

All players are being required to register under real names and with government-issued identification documents.

I’ve just watched PM Ardern’s early-afternoon TV speech on NZ’s Covid-19 threat. Two points:
a) Why does our PM feel inclined to throw her hands around endlessly when she is delivering a prepared speech?
b) Why would a NZ? national flag behind her be arranged in such a way that only one corner of it (bearing the Union Jack image) was visible to the TV viewer? That visual set-up made her appear to be speaking on TV as the UK Prime Minister (and maybe that was her objective!!!).

Today they introduced some new ones. Vaccinated or Booked and % Eligible Vaccinated or Booked. For Second does received it’s 28% for Booked it’s 59% of the eligible population. So more people are booked than have been vaccinated and the second question is how far forward are the bookings? I did a quick look at it looks like the earliest I could get is 21 October for 1st dose.

She said we are receiving weekly doses. Read it again. Does she mean doses are coming into NZ on a weekly basis, or does she mean NZ citizens are getting vaccinated weekly? Collins never called on her for a clear explanation.

  * How many?
  * What day next week does the next shipment of how many turn up?
  * How many each week for September and October?
  * Why has the MoH website stats on vaccine availability not been updated since 22 August?
  
  The website is updated at least daily, but this critical measure is not being updated. The answer is, most likely, that they are trying to deceive the citizens (ie. lying).

      I watched most of the circus performance this afternoon; non of the government MP’s looked comfortable with the experience, and they certainly didn’t answer any of the questions. I can see a lot of Opposition questions coming, beginning… when you said on Tuesday Q & A… The govt dug themselves into a large hole today.
      The only speaker at the Ministerial statements section who sounded authoritative, composed and statesman like was Judith Collins.

His suggestion for convincing nz’s vaccine hesitant is “a race to beat the Cook Islands.”??!??!?

Quite condescending and typical of how we are treated by the govt, the media and their scientists.. So we don’t need more long term data, or have genuine concerns about the side effects or need more details on the serious Vaers events and deaths that have not been published in the media, or have genuine concerns about the clotting and heart attacks that are way above a normal vaccine especially for young men.

Nope what we need is a contest, or more convincing celebrities, or a cool science communicator with pink hair and doc martin boots to convince the public. One of those should convince 90% of the population surely..

Interesting report on aging effect of Covid (shortens telomeres) by average equivalent of about 7 years! This might also occur with vaccines as they think th mechanism is driven by the oxidative stresses caused by the presence of the spike protein.
