A list of ‘highly vaccinated’ holiday destinations where you will be safe for your summer holiday.

I’m planning a February trip to Northland and no doubt I will be visiting places with low vaccination rates. Of course I’m not concerned. I’ll be looking out for genuine risks. Bad drivers will be number one.

The media has become the Government’s propaganda arm. Fuelling the fear of a minority. The unvaccinated.

        I agree with Mike’s notion that people from outside NZ by and large think NZ is a safe place.
        
        Nowhere is safe, it’s just that some are less safe.
        
        A Northland family I know had gone through life with no fears about safety. Until their son was beaten up in an unprovoked attack. In Paris.

    Never happened to me in the Far North, but something similar occurred in Jakarta.
    We were stuck in traffic and some blokes with guitars came along and sang an old Beatles number, of all things.
    Purnama, who was driving, gave them some change and told me if he didn’t they’d damage his car.
    He kept a lot of change handy.

  On the subject of a trip up north bad drivers are not necessarily the problem as much as keeping your valuables safe from theft.

  Quite right Benedict – it’s total madness. Covid is coming through New Zealand, it’s in Stratford, soon it will be everywhere.
  Here in the Wairarapa we have been in various stages of lockdown since August 18. We have not had a single case of Covid in the whole province this year. But still we have to wear masks and sign in. Everyone in rest homes has been locked down. The old people can’t go out.
  
  For what? There has been no Covid in the Wairarapa.
  But soon there will be Covid. Are we gonna keep the rest homes locked down forever? Are we going to wear masks for ever?
  
  Basically we have spent two years taking away all our freedoms and flattening the economy, for what? We are going to have to learn to live with Covid. Perhaps we could have learned to live with Covid last year?

    The one group that this is really supposed to be “saving” is the oldies in rest homes, but they are not getting a good deal at all.
    
    The average “stay” in a rest home is something around 18 months. It’s not like a holiday overseas – people don’t go home afterwards. This is the last 18 months of their life.
    
    The average person in a rest home is halfway through their “stay”, so have an expected lifetime of 9 months.
    
    If you only had 9 months left then would you rather have:
    * A full 9 months, but confined to your room. No outings. No mixing with the others. Just interacting with people wearing PPE and facemasks (for your own good). No visits from friends or family. No Sunday dinner with the kids and grandkids. The occasional Zoom call with the kids who tell you how terrible everything is and their worries about the future.
    * A couple of months less, but with a life well lived.
    
    It really is a crappy choice that has been made for these people, and it is a worse choice for everyone else.

      I have a brother in law in a rest home down in Timaru.
      He’s been there for a couple of years now and his local family goes to see him regularly.
      I also have an Aunty in a rest home in Chch. My sister visits her every week.
      Your scenario is laughable.
      
      My Aunty lost a brother in WWII and another, my father, was a POW for years. Another brother was up in the Islands. She’d like to get out more, but I don’t think she spends much time thinking about how unfair these so-called lockdowns are, neither do I.

        What does it have to do with being locked up?
        My paternal grandfather was shot in the back of his head by Stalin’s henchmen at the age of 40. His wife died of TB during the WW2 at the age of 42 leaving three young children. On maternal side, the grandfather spent five years in one of Hitler’s Stalags. His wife had 6 small kids to take care of in German occupied Europe. And I’m still against lockdowns and all little tyrants of current vintage.

        Yep, that really pisses me off as well. They blag Ivermectin talking it down as horse de-wormer when billions of doses have been given to humans and the drug has a well established safety record in appropriate doses. They even make it illegal to obtain IVM yourself! Then they provide you with “appropriate” support for home isolation with Covid – a packet each of Panadol and Strepsils + a pulse oximeter if you are lucky.
        Not to worry though, Robbo says everything is working well aside from needing a few tweaks in a small number of cases.

I was in there this morning with my muzzle attached and I see the latest development is dedicated click and collect parking spots; a requirement for their proposed vaxxed only in store customers.     I despair at children being made to walk home in bright sunshine wearing a mask.

      Despite what a lot of people think, they’re not mandatory outside. Even under level four they weren’t (except for when you couldn’t social distance).

  The good news Benedict is that Covid and Climate Change Porn is pissing off the citizens as shown in the polls. The bad news is that Labour knows it will be tossed out in 2023 so are ramming through legislation/regulation as fast as they can. They are hell bent on total Maorification. They are hoping that the Nats/ACT will leave some of the new laws in place by making them very hard to reverse along with the governance infrastructure.
  The Nats/ACT will have to spend most of their first term trying to reverse the legislation/regulation.

    They will take years to repeal them one at a time. But there is a solution. Put forward by a UK based guy who got in touch with Cactus Kate. Introduce an omnibus repeal Bill. The Attorney General would instruct the Parliamentary Counsel Office to draw up a schedule of every Act and Regulation passes since 2017. In the event that there are a few that are sensible they would be allowed to remain. So passing one Bill would allow the Government to start again.
    
    Then pass a similar Omnibus Bill that deletes “Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi” from every Government Act.
    
    Working on that would be my dream job. ?

    Covid, yes, climate change, no.
    National, in government, would have signed up to most of the COP 26 goals. At least as much as Scott Morrison, probably a bit more. When National are in government again they will go along with whatever the next major COP decides. Act won’t be much of a brake on this, since there is essentially a consensus between the two major parties on the issue. However, since Act would be the coalition partner they will get some say on climate change, though I note Act is no longer as anti-climate change as they used to be. In a coalition Act will need to get its wins elsewhere. Most probably in justice and economic deregulation.

        Salacious, you are correct here, temperature change causes CO2 change, not the other way around. Al Gore and his mates deliberately misinterpret the ice core data to push their agenda.
        The science in this is well established. CO2 is more soluble in cold water than in warm water.
        Also when you look at the ice core graphs you see the CO2 level is very high, then the temperature starts to drop with no explanation. This is because CO2 isn’t the driving force.If it were we would have seen run away global warming many thousands of years ago.

      For Covid you can vaccinate, or not, as you see fit.

      They get a huge payoff at the end on the He Puapua rollout. You have a Maori upper house with a right of veto over parliament. Enough Maori are tribal Labour voters to ensure a Labour majority in the Upper House regardless of what might happen in a general election. Therefore Labour can veto any reform made by any subsequent government.

Yesterday in the Covid -19 update the Director of Health Caroline McElnay said if you had Covid Symptoms while isolating at home and they were serio9 affecting your health, ring a Ambulance as they are free for Covid.
Well how come a man who died at home with Covid-19 told Healthline he wanted to go to Hospital after coughing up blood only to be told it was just normal Covid Symptoms and it was just normal his daughter says.
” The Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson says, by and large the system is working well” but the family says that was not the case.
“He said to Health line I want to go to hospital, should I go to hospital?, and was told’ we will call a ambulance if you want, but these are normal Covid-19 symptoms .
The Ministry of Health says there are 30 Registered Health Professionals at the Health line but the daughter questions the advice given.
” Anyone if you say I am coughing up blood, should respond and say you need to go to hospital – this is not normal.

        Sure, the Nazis had socialist roots, particularly Goebbels, Strasser and Roehm, IIRC. The socialist wing was defeated by the faction keenest on the army, industry and revenge for 1918. But the Nazis aren’t infamous for collectivising industry or any socialist policies, per se – they are known best for extreme racist and militaristic urges to rule the world as some kind of destiny for the Aryan race.

His son Matthew is a Judge and sat on this case. Something I find a tad queasy and inbred. The case should have been heard by two Judges – one vaccinated and one not.

Matthew Palmer has decided that the Bill of Rights is about as useless as wet toilet paper.

Sir Geoffrey however was always about process only and not actual rights. His legacy will be exactly what he wanted it to be. That even after all the bluster, it is always about what a government can do.

Ardern and Labour not even attempting to hide their corruption and contempt for the Rule of Law in this country.

I did not study Law and obtain admission to the Bar believing that the law in New Zealand would ever operate to allow the sacking of people who refuse to be vaccinated against an illness that even a vaccine does not prevent the spread of………

And that within the next year or so, the “experts” are telling us most of us will get anyway.

It is batshit crazy and a sad indictment on the sheep state of the Law Society that senior lawyers and barristers have not put aside their lust for government work and to be seen on the soft side of history, and not asserted the rights and freedoms of fellow New Zealanders with more vigor.

And right on queue after another shocking week for the Labour government, speculation in the Herald and on Stuff on Nationals leadership. I guess it was either that or a cutsey Neve story, Clark catching a big fish or Jacinda’s latest wedding plan. It’s all very obvious and tiresome. I do think there is a developing story on the pending change of leadership in Labour. The back benchers and some Ministers will be getting very antsy with the highest paid job they will ever have disappearing down the poll hole. Or potentially the PM walking away as the adoration disappears ?. Her behaviour recently is becoming increasingly bizarre and indicative of someone under huge stress. The flying visit to Auckland for example.

    Interesting, so Ardern is trending down but Collins is trending up …. but yet again the MSM are continuing to push the narrative that National needs yet more leadership turmoils and dissent (which will turn off the public).
    
    If one reads Luke Malpass’s Stuff article it is pretty clear that no potential National leadership contenders are actively working on a challenge (sure there may be some with aspirations – like there also would be in the Labour Party – so what’s new) … BUT it is also pretty clear that it is the MSM that are pushing the leadership change agenda.
    
    Frankly it’s getting quite tiresome … so here’s a novel idea can they actually spend that time and effort critiquing the Government? So much went wrong for them again this week (like the week before).
    
    Why even I’ve noticed again that Ardern disappeared into Labour’s Witless Protection scheme yet again … leaving Labour Leadership (and PM) contender Grant Robertson mostly fronting the news interviews.
    
    So here is “real leadership contender” news – that of the ambitious Grant Robertson, but yet again the MSM is failing to profile the “real” Grant Robertson, who is much more attuned to playing dirty politics and makes Collins look like a rank amateur in comparison.

  There was comment not that long ago about an old Herald editor who passed away. I seem to remember that the write-up about him mentioned that he an old-school type who had very firm ideas about journalists writing factual stories versus opinion pieces.
  
  As I recall, the main thrust was that a journalist’s job was to present the FACTS (remember those, Stuff?) in a neutral, unbiased fashion, without any hint of passing judgement.

So, as statistics from Israel have become more skewed, as more become vaccinated – hence most people in hospital now are of course vaccinated – will not, under the Traffic Light System, those who spread the virus be vaccinated, not the restrained out of circulation, freedom-deprived unvaccinated?

    Under the Traffic Light system you may encounter an unvaccinated person in the supermarket, but it seems more likely in a pub it will be vaccinated person, as unvaccinated will be barred (sorry) from pubs. However vaccinated persons (as reports from overseas indicate) may be more confident and casual about spacing and hygiene rules, so a bit more likely to pass the virus on, albeit it a diminished viral load – but really another Lotto circumstance, to add to the MIQ Lotto while it lasts.

No words, though, about differences between the factions that make up Labour – Maori activists, trade unionists, teachers, pseudo-science academics, the many types of Woke.

      Given the revolving door approach to national party leadership since 2016, journalists might be excused for wondering how long the current incumbent will last.
      Similar to the labour party from 2011 to 2017 – which caused much speculation and amusement as hapless leaders replaced hapless leaders.
      NZ political parties don’t seem to have the patience with leaders that featured in earlier times. An election loss is now usually fatal for a party leader, and some of course don’t even make it as far as an election campaign.

This is not an opinion piece by Stuff’s Nelson reporter. It’s a summary of some of the claims, or more accurately insinuations, Sue Grey has made of deaths being caused by the covid vaccine.
One person hadn’t even been vaccinated.

If you don’t like the article send an email to the reporter. I don’t know, but I’m guessing she’ll get plenty of abuse from the anti-vax brigade.

  A High Court Judge can offer an opinion as to the safety of the vaccine from the bench, in his official capacity:
  “Justice Francis Cooke said he was “satisfied that the vaccine is safe and effective, is significantly beneficial in preventing symptomatic infection of Covid-19, including the Delta variant”” – Stuff.
  
  Sue Grey, speaking as a private individual asks the question: “I’ve heard a Picton school teacher died 48 hours after getting the Vax,” wrote Grey, a Nelson lawyer and the co-leader of the Outdoors Party. “Does anyone have information about this please.” – Stuff.
  
  Today’s headline reads: “Formal complaint against anti-vax lawyer lodged with the Law Society” – Stuff.
  
  Given that Deaths due to vaccines in the USA have increased 27-fold in 2021 compared to the previous decade and it is officially acknowledged that the mRNA jab does not symptomatic infection of Covid-19 I think we can conclude the judge’s statement is false.
  
  So who should the Law Society be taking an interest in?

    The Law Society should take an interest in her for the way she uses stories about vaccinations.
    
    “In July, Grey told her followers an elderly man had collapsed “just outside the jab-centre” in Richmond, south of Nelson.
    
    “If anyone has any information of how he’s doing and whether he had just had the jab, please let me know,” she wrote.
    Grey never returned to the post, leaving her followers to speculate among themselves.
    
    “Very sad & avoidable,” one wrote. “GENOCIDE MASS CRIMES,” shouted another.
    
    Stuff contacted the man’s son, who was unaware of Grey’s posts. He asked for anonymity, to protect his father’s grieving widow.
    
    His father, in his mid 70s, had been on his way to get the vaccine when he collapsed.
    “He hadn’t had a vaccine, he was on his way but didn’t make it,” he said. “It had nothing to do with the vaccine whatsoever.”
    
    Grey did not answer questions about this case, or explain why she has left inaccurate posts on Facebook. However, she said her information came from “many sources”.
    
    Obviously I don’t know how the Law Society will see such behaviour. To me it’s really scummy, low life. And it certainly diminishes the standing of her profession.

      The only really scummy low life behaviour of note in the last 2 years has been from Ardern, Hipkins, Bloomfield and the rag tag band of useless academics and “experts”. If they all did their jobs properly, collated data properly, carried out autopsies on those who die within 28 days of a first or 2nd jab and were open and honest and permitted real debate instead of shutting down dissent and promoting a “single source of truth, then maybe people wouldn’t be asking those questions.
      We’re in this situation because the government has lied from the beginning and almost completely shut down debate. No wonder people ask awkward questions.

Because I’ve been trying to get that information from Medsafe for a year and so far they haven’t presented a shred of evidence that the jab is “safe”. Unless you count the bullshit data provided by one of the most criminally fraudulent companies on the planet? Who’s information has already been shredded for not being fit for purpose.
        I’ve read the shit Pfizer supplied to Medsafe. Apart from the fact it isn’t verifiable and might as well be a copy of a Hans Christian Andersen book, they actually released a summary that clearly shows that they didn’t have information regarding the effects of this jab on the most vulnerable.
        Instead of making a “wild guess” – try reading it. Come back to me and explain how this doesn’t prove that this is a dangerous experiment. It’s only 6 pages, take your time. I actually think they sent it by mistake because it is a clear contradiction of everything the government lied to us about.

The Government’s housing developer Kāinga Ora has been dobbed in to the Public Service Commission watchdog by their own minister, Megan Woods.
The agency is under fire after Newshub revealed it covered up the fact it knew it was using a prospective Labour MP in its taxpayer-funded advertising.
Labour MP Arena Williams was up front about her political ambitions. She told Kāinga Ora about it before they paid for and published an advertorial featuring her.

  There is a big problem with Kàinga Ora. It’s Act gives it the power to borrow billions and act as a property developer. It bleeds money from its state housing portfolio because the tenants are nearly all troubled beneficiaries. And it has been directed by the government to care for them. And on the side it is trying to make money through property development.
  
  It is a very strange organisation. Of course the money it risks is ultimately government money. It issues bonds to overseas investors who buy them up because they know the government won’t let them go broke.
  
  Honestly most folk have no idea how large and crazy and wasteful the government has become in the last 4 years. The correction is going to be painful.

    We don’t have such a mechanism for rogue or incompetent MP’s. They are attributed the status of cream of the crop and Parliament decisions are not for review as to content but limited to clarification as to meaning.
    Ministerial or lower staff admin may be queried in light of their application of the Statute law or Orders.
    
    For the Courts to review the policy content of the law passed by Parliament would put them in a superior position. Constitutionally sovereignty is vested in Parliament which gives it the power to even abolish the Courts.
    
    The triennial elections are the only real safety valve we have. The Gov. General will not readily intervene. There is good reason not to extend the duration of our present 3 year term.
    I would like to see a mechanism for recall of members or the govt. The possible attachment of liabilities is a very difficult issue.

Read in the Ferald that the group of cases in Stratford were reluctant to get tested even though sick. The report says one of them travelled to Auckland ‘to pick up a family member to live with them’, and returned to Taranaki in October. Who the hell is being allowed to travel in and out of Auckland like that? A picture is emerging of the demographics that these leaks are coming from.

I thought Ardern had created a hard border round Auckland and covid cases couldn’t travel in and out like that. In the process Ardern has cratered a significant portion of the Auckland and NZ economy.

Ardern needs to open the Auckland border immediately and stop this farce. People with covid are getting waved through at the Auckland border. So it’s pointless. If they did have a test within 72 hours, Ardern’s system is not stopping covid escaping Auckland.

Also these Stratford locals refused to get tested initially when approached by authorities. To add to the farce these low life’s have close contacts in the Wairarapa, so we can safely assume it’s going to hit Wellington as well, for Christmas, I estimate. Just wait for the announcement that wastewater testing in the Wairarapa has detected covid.

I’d like to see some more disclosure on these people, whether they were vaccinated, did they have negative tests at the border? Also the whole charade we have here is not going to work if some people couldn’t give a toss about the rules and still circulate when they knowingly are sick but refuse to get tested and only get flushed out when one of them has to go to hospital.

New Zealand is marching to the tune of the lowest common denominator. What a f*#king pointless exercise Ardern has going with this Auckland border, that is gradually taking down the whole NZ economy and setting up generations of debt.

    As I am about to do the same, I can indeed affirm that one of the permitted exceptions to movement across the level boundaries is for someone to move back home. One common cause – students after completing study.
    
    You are allowed if you can demonstrate a need, to travel to and from a L3 location to pick someone up. You are supposed to have evidence of a negative Covid test to leave Auckland. However virtually every person who travels in to bring someone home will not be in L3 long enough to have a test and get the result to present, so they have to test before they travel – stupid, but that’s this government for you. The person you are retrieving is also supposed to have a negative test result.
    
    You are also supposed to have another test with 72 hours of returning.
    
    As Covid is present but to a minuscule degree in Auckland, less than 2,000 current cases (only some of whom will be infectious) in a population of what, 1.5M, one’s chances in almost any circumstances of meeting an infectious person is pretty low.

I fully expected to see a whole host of condemnatory replies but was shocked by the number of fawning women raving about how wonderful she is, what an amazing woman to have a child and a job, how fantastically she runs the country etc, etc. I was, quite frankly shocked that there are so many moronic women in this country. Surely they could see it was a total set up. Any other person would have deleted such a video and started again. She claimed her mother was there so why wasn’t the mother minding the kid? Come on!   It was an advertorial. Many of the 500 comments on daily Mail, where Ardern’s comms team had no doubt booked a slot, called this a blatant and desperate pr stunt. Within 24 hours all those comments had disappeared, like we often see with the herald articles with a lot of negative Ardern commenting. That could only be on paid advertising arrangement. I’ve never seen the royal family be able to get all the comments taken down when they are attacked on daily Mail…
  
  We will see a lot more branding advertising for Ardern appealing to her female voter base, female millennials who think she’s great for doing it all. The nz women’s weekly will also be working overtime to get to the older female voter base.
  There will be a lot more favouring of students and their events, think under writing rhythm and vines, the exemption announced for students to travel out of Auckland etc. Not hard to spot Ardern’s target audience. If Ardern manages to ram through voting for 16 year olds I don’t think nz will be worth staying long term.

  Yep, just saw a report on FB, looks pretty bad on Auckland motorway. I agree with people’s right to protest and the grid lock hasn’t affected me because I’m at home, but I don’t think grid locking traffic is the right way to go about gaining support from the wider public.

    I think you are half right lifesgood. If it was for a normal protest your 100% right, pissing everyone off when they are going about their business is a terrible strategy. However what people haven’t grasped with this lot is they don’t really want your support in the normal sense of, philsophocaly do you agree with us? It’s a part of the population thats trapped and feels hunted. So like a cornered animal they are going to keep lashing out, as I would to I might add if I was being treated like a 2nd class citizen. So this is a big Fu$k u we are angry, as opposed to please support us. And they are going to have a lot of time on their hands given they can’t work or do anything else but…protest and put sand in the gears of society, a society that’s excluded them. Buckle up.

  A recent article on Stuff stated that a few “hundred people” participated in demonstrations in Auckland.
  
  I call BS on that.
  
  The wife and I went out at 11:00 AM to participate in the demonstration in Whangarei. Coming back from Bunnings we saw not two hundred people, but more than two hundred cars honking their horns and flying New Zealand flags demonstrating against mandated covid19 jabs.
  
  This is in a city with only 3% of the population of Auckland.
  
  The number of demonstrators in Auckland would have been huge in comparison.

The Police response has been interesting. Instead of announcing the protest so we could all avoid it, rather than be detained by it, they will be “looking into cctv”, wow. Just found out that they’ve reduced the mandatory wait time in MIQ to 7 days (effective today I think). Unfortunately this might mean that they’re going to try to keep MIQ going for longer. I was hoping that pressure to open up beds for covid cases would finally put an end to it.

The Telegraph reports Nicola Sturgeon’s Scottish Government is making tampons and sanitary towels available in its male lavatories in case they are needed by transgender civil servants.

The Telegraph report also says a Scottish Government policy introduced in July made clear that “some transgender men” and non-binary people, who do not identify as male or female, “may also experience menopause”.

Double jabbed? Where’s his vision. The double jabbed today are the triple jabbed of tomorrow, and the quadruple jabbed of the day after. Vaccination hamster wheel anyone?
