    Yeah, I was listening to those two Tim clowns from newstalkzb in the car yesterday, had to change channels. They were just going on and on about unvaxxed and the freedom protesters. My question is this, why do they fear them? Their hubris is astonishing, their moral superiority of getting vaxxed isn’t enough , that they have to denigrate everyone who has made a separate choice as crazy and nutters. What is the point of these constant attacks? According to them they are safe, so why attack our fellow people who are according to them unsafe and are now u able to participate in society?   There are lots of cognitive disconnection in their ever more desperate mandate justification pronouncements. It is getting to the level of truthiness, one step of just lying. If the vaccine does its job, what is the risk of the 10% who won’t get jabbed? If the vaccine doesn’t give a high probability of protection, why get jabbed? In their daily statistics, there seems to be no mention of vaxxed to unvaxxed ratio. Has that got embarrassing? If the vaccine loses its effectiveness, like the same vaccine has in Israel, why haven’t there been any mention of the need for a booster – or even preparations for it?
  The MoH knows they need a booster because they sent a letter to GPs advising that any of their patients who could be a risk needs a booster (but it isn’t called that) if it has been two months since their second shot. That sounds like it isn’t effective for very long at all.

    Literally, the only reason to get vaccinated is because they offer good protection against serious illness. The protection against infection is, let’s be charitable, ‘tenuous’. Hence the need for boosters.
    
    Logically that means that vaccine mandates are without foundation.
    
    And this is where the politicians are tying themselves in knots. They can only promote vaccine certificates if they argue that they ARE effective in preventing infection, to a significant extent, AND that such protection is enduring.
    
    Now it is clear that Jacinda has learned that line and I am sure she believes it. But in turn, that makes it impossible for her to start talking about booster shots because folk will then realise that the premise of vaccine certificates is a false premise.
    
    It would be really funny if it was not wrecking the country. ?

        You don’t HAVE to wear a face mask everywhere you go. It is shear stupidity wearing one outside in the fresh air. You can get an exemption from the MoH, but even if you don’t simply tell people you have an exemption – even inside – and you don’t have to tell them why you are exempt.

      Once again Benedict, I learn from your analysis. The same is true of the mandates. The benefit is small if non existent, but good people are losing their livelihoods while businesses, schools and medical facilities etc, are losing valuable staff.
      
      The troublesome thing is that the MSM is wall-to-wall not presenting the facts or analysis of the policy. They have signed up to 90 percent.
      
      We would be lost if it were not for our dear host and commentators such as yourself. I also enjoy the commentators who disagree with your analysis because it is that debate we are sorely lacking outside of this blog.

      1. The Pfizer jab isn’t a vaccine
      2. It doesn’t offer good protection at all. It offers “some” protection.
      3. The main reason I got the jab was so I could travel, and not be excluded from going about my lawful business. I did it through gritted teeth, and not because I fear the needle.
      
      Also a pretty obvious logic fail re boosters. You state (correctly) that the jab only offers tenuous protection from infection, so why would that change when you get another jab? And another one, and another one?

    For all adult age groups your unvaccinated risk of death from covid is approximately the same as your normal (no covid) risk of dying in any 10 week period, but in fact it is only about 10٪ of that if you don’t have serious health issues (comorbidities are almost all deaths). So really unvaccinated your risk of death is equal to about 1 week of non-covid risk of death (if you are in good health). Put another way; unvaxxed people are 50x more likely to die of something other than covid (even if infected) in next year!
    I think if general population knew this it would completely change the mood of the nation with regard to covid. But would run counter to govt (and media lap dog genda)
    
    Vaccines drop your risk to about 1day worth of non-covid risk of death.
    
    For healthy people covid is nearly irrelevant as a risk even if untvaxxed. Covid policy is all about govt avoiding looking bad due to lot of already sick people dying in their hospital. At risk people should get vaccine but other than that we should accept hospitals will be highly stressed and otherwise completely disregard it and get on with life as normal in NZ.

    I have to assume that is why it is so extremely hard to accept vaccines don’t work on an individual level alone, especially for those with legitimate reasons preventing them from being vaccinated.
    That the vaccines give high levels of protection are crystal clear from the data internationally where case numbers plummet following vaccinations. Inescapable logical conclusion, get vaccinated. That the effectiveness reduces over time doesn’t change this, it simply reinforces the case to have booster shots.
    Hospitalisations are almost entirely unvaccinated, many days 100%. Get vaccinated or enjoy suffering unnecessarily.
    If there is no preparation to supply boosters by now, then that would be typical of execution failure of this Govt.
    Boosters after 2 months is not mentioned in anything I’ve seen. Misinterpretation? Just lying?

      You don’t know what you are talking about. I know all about the booster letter as my daughter is a GP nurse and vaccinator. She told me about it as it was relevant to me. My GP told me in writing what the conditions were. I qualified so have now have had three Covid Shots. So you are just spreading disinformation.

        So 89% of today’s hospitalised are unvaccinated. That is the definition of almost entirely, so again I am not understanding your point? Even more so when you note that total Auckland hospitalised are around 250 unvaccinated vs 10 vaccinated. With near 90% vaccination rate that is categorical evidence of effectiveness.

        No you got the maths wrong – 59% were unvaccinated OR ineligible. They didn’t give the split. The difference were those that made up of less than 14 days double. And it was less than 250 total. I didn’t link to it to make you do your own research.
        I note by your silence you are conceding the MoH is recommending boosters under a different name.

    NZers will need a booster like every other country is now doing (Italy now 40 Yr olds plus can get it) and probably will be mandatory. Jacinda and Bloomfield are shit scared to admit this as it will make people have second thoughts about the 2nd one. So probably around mid next year and no open border before then. Will be interesting to see the outcome overseas after the 3rd if case numbers keep increasing what bullshit govt’s will pull next to keep people jabbed.

  They have been very silent on the fact that their new health passport will have to have a very short expiry date, could be 4 to 5 months, from last jab.
  
  My guess is 6 to 12 months, what is our one source of truth saying. So you will get your vaccine passport and already be expired, how will that work, you will need your next booster first?
  
  How will people feel that after all the hype they were effectively not covered, it may well be that it goes to negative efacy and you are more likely to get infected, without any natural immunity.

      I can easily see banks offering chipping within the next 10 years (which I hope is well within my lifetime). Imagine the presentation: “If you get a microchip which does the job of both your debit and credit cards, you need never worry about losing your card(s) again. No need to worry about your cards being lost or stolen; it’s now permanently in the back of your hand!”
      
      Then they further incentivize customers by gradually increasing the cost of replacement cards – with an offer to get microchipped for free every time you need one.
      
      I’m prepared to bet the above scenario will occur – perhaps even sooner than I suggest.

        I have read some of Klaus Schwab’s Great Reset and am not impressed that an elite NGO, World Economic Forum, has published a full scenario involving such microchipping.
        Our PM is one of their school and there are strong hints of the preparation for the transhumanism agenda. I have enough problems already with real trans humans and their gender issues without this extra layer of microchipped ones for social control and health(?) maintenance.

      Remember back when all this started, the perceived wisdom was that masks were useless because the pore size was 200 times (or something) bigger than the virus? Now we have mandated mask wearing. The size of the virus particle hasn’t changed.
      
      My South Island source tells me there is widespread rebellion against mask wearing down there.

        And yes sadly we will be getting annual covid shots indefinitely. That has become clear to me just in the last few days. And I now think it is inevitable that children will be immunised in New Zealand from 6 months old. No tolerance of dissent.

      And that will be enforced in New Zealand by your vaccine certificate expiring after 12 months. The only alternative would be to abandon vaccine certificates.
      
      The thing is I will probably get an annual booster. But I don’t care what others do. I’m not scared of unvaccinated people and I don’t support vaccine certificates for the general population.
      
      I would support vaccine mandates and compulsory regular booster shots in restricted circumstances. For example medical personnel dealing with immune compromised people. I don’t know where the line gets drawn on compulsory vaccines. Maybe in practice it does need to be all doctors and nurses. But it should not be all people eating in a cafe.

        According to Baker, flu kills more people than CV19 (he says 10,000 people in NZ die of flu related causes every year). In 2019 he was pushing flu vaccinations very hard.

        I can’t see the point of compulsory vax for health workers unless those workers are at risk of contracting the disease.
        We now know that covid can be spread by the vaccinated, so who is being protected?
        As for boosters, we come back to the old problem – that viruses mutate from year to year, and by the time a vaccine has been produced, the virus is already moving on.
        Back in the day, we used to deliberately expose our kids to any virus that was going around, and nurse them through it if they got sick, knowing that they would have resilience against future infection.
        Later we got them vaccinated – but didn’t insist that the rest of the population did so as well.

  We have all heard the rather infantile mantra stating “the vaccine is safe and effective” despite common knowledge that no medicine is without risk.
  An interesting issue is been reported in Medsafe’s weekly Safety Reports which is tracking an internationally reported Safety Alert; with similarly increased reports of myocarditis and pericarditis across NZ.
  Medsafe Safety Report #33 offers best data analysis on these medical diagnosis and also states: “Based on hospital discharge data from 2008 – 2019, on average 95 people were diagnosed with myocarditis every year”
  Yet it’s most intriguing that since 17 Aug 21 (when NZ went Level 4 and the ‘risk prioritised’ vaccine rollout accelerated from 55 year olds down to everyone including 12 year olds in the space of about two weeks) the reported myocarditis diagnosis have sharply increased.
  Medsafe report number 25 through to 34 (covering 10 weeks since just after the Level 4 lockdown) has seen reports grow from 32 to now 192 cases. Yes that’s an additional 160 in only 10 weeks!

  My understanding is if the protesters had had their way we would never have had any restrictions and possibly no vaccines (I’m not sure how much sway the anti-vax rump has on that mob).

    New Zealand has a somewhat younger population profile than most developed countries, so although the vaccinated percentage for the eligible population is higher than quite a few other OECD countries, our overall rate is lower.   Simple answer. The international sites show vaccination as a percentage of the total population. The Herald is tracking progress towards the 90 percent rate of people aged 12 plus.
  
  International comparisons use total population because countries are vaccinating different age groups.

  I have mild and well controlled diabetes and that is the way it is going to stay. Other members of the family have not been so fortunate. A 15 yr old grandson has an insulin pump. Another nephew died at 33.

    Indeed, diabetes is a comorbidity for many other conditions – including CV19.
    
    We’d do a hell of a lot better heath wise in NZ if we put all this energy we have for CV19 into obesity and diabetes.
    
    I am well aware that there is a distinction between type 1 and type 2, but over 90% of NZ diabetes is type 2 and mostly linked to obesity and other lifestyle issues.

  Tony, unfortunately this sort of result should be expected with the coaching group the All Blacks have. Foster has a track record of losing as a head coach, and an inability to get the best out of very good players, as evidenced by his record with the Chiefs. Somehow he has become head coach of the All Blacks. I fear that the All Blacks will become the Chiefs, inconsistent and unable to win the big games (or worse, just making up the numbers). While the defence leaks points constantly as they have been doing, we won’t win when it is really important, read WC.

  How is it we arent sure who should play in the centres? We are playing a fullback and a wing because we dont have any true midfielders?? We are lacking a couple of immovable props who deliver in the tight. Maybe Brody and Sam are just past their peak?? And am I the only one who thinks TJP is a great scavenger/defender but just too slow on delivery?
  
  The AB’s look poorly coached. Time to try Razor before someone nicks him? Could the old boys club bring themselves to try that?

    Tom, unfortunately Foster has given away All Black caps to players who haven’t earned their stripes, plus he thinks that he can just change players positions and they will all be OK. Ioane isn’t a centre. Jordie Barrett isn’t one of the best two wingers we have, but he keeps getting games there, and IMHO he’s not as good a fullback as his brother. Perenara is way past his use by date. He always takes a pace to see if he can run before he passes. And with flat defences, your backs have no show as they then get the ball with someone in their face. Perenara should have been put out to grass 3 years ago. Cane is yesterdays man. An honest grafter who makes few mistakes at best (but there are many of those sorts of players around NZ). Lord, Bower, Taukei’aho, de Groot, Lomax, Aumua and Vaa’i have been given free All Black caps for being OK. I might just be getting old, but you used to have to actually be outstanding over a decent period of time (pretty much every player that has become an All Black), or genius (Christian Cullen, Will Jordan) over a short period of time to get into the All Blacks. Where do any of the players I have named fit into that?

      The problem is guys don’t hang around waiting putting in the years on the domestic front when there’s big bucks to be made offshore.
      You look at the Super competition and the NPC. Even when there was no crowd restrictions the numbers were puny and the salaries are paltry.
      Cricket is lucky because few of our players seem to be attractive to the IPL, which is has its own time slot in the calendar anyway.

      Firstly, there are many more All Blacks now than back in the day. There has to be, for the huge number of games a pro player is needed each year.
      Secondly, there have always been second stringers, who in the old days only played the non-test tour matches and very few, if any, tests.

I have commented here that few people really understand how the vaccines work and how they degrade. This is a good example. An accommodation provider is contemplating charging unvaccinated people extra to pay for the “deep cleaning” of the room after they leave.

      Tony S: God knows I am no fan of Robertson or the band of cretins he is a part of, but that stat could be very misleading, and is pretty meaningless unless there are comparisons with other years (I refuse to pay the Horrid anything, so can’t read the story; it may have comparisons?)
      
      The Companies Office is now very diligent in removing defunct companies from the register. That normally occurs when a company fails to file its Annual Return after two reminders. Companies may become defunct, and thus liable to removal, for many reasons other than because a business has failed.

        One of my colleagues is in the liquidation and receivership business.
        He is very busy. I think leaving aside companies being removed from the register there is a surge in liquidations due to companies simply running out of money and support from their banks. Especially small retail and hospitality.

  Antibody testing can distinguish between S-protein antibodies generated in response to vaccination and N-antibodies generated in response to a natural infection prior to vaccination. This testing has been done across the UK population for months. The results appear to show high levels of narrow spectrum protection to the spike protein in the wild/alpha virus, but low N-antibody levels across the highly vaxxed populations. Result?   Fun fact. Those on benefits pay 25 percent of their benefit as rent. But the Government does not deduct the 25 percent from their benefit. Because it would insult their dignity. Or something.
  
  So tenants need to arrange a bank payment. This is where it gets interesting.
  
  Under the last government if tenants stopped paying the rent they were evicted. But not now. So a significant number have stopped paying rent. There are tenants with tens of thousands of dollars in debt.
  
  And it gets even funnier ?. Eventually they are persuaded to start paying the rent. And they agree to pay off the debt at 5 dollars per week. And then money gets tight and they stop paying the rent again. ????

The traffic light system announced by Jacinda Ardern last month set out a future without alert level lockdowns, but only once 90 percent vaccination rates were met.
The new framework means greater freedoms for those who are vaccinated.
On Monday she gave a clear signal that Cabinet on November 29 would be aiming to move Auckland straight into the Covid protection framework, providing all three of the city’s district health boards were either at or near 90 percent fully vaccinated. [2]

Besides giving the impression Little and Ardern are “not on the same page” (sorry, bloody awful woke expression), is Little actually initiating to New Zealand’s context, a phrase – Freedom Day – which is itself mis-information, or just a fucking lie (not so sorry, a woken-up expression: like, awake to what the buggers are doing)?

In some parts of regional New Zealand, the unvaccinated are for the most part enjoying everyday freedoms and have little incentive to get jabbed – especially if they have no knowledge the traffic light system is even being introduced.

Ardern accepts the traffic light system, and its greater freedoms intentionally targeted at the vaccinated, provides a bit more incentive to get jabbed than Level 2 currently does. [2]

Below is my satirical take on this article, very few words changed. Question for the Herald – what level of rights is it ok to take away from unvaccinated people before your editorial stance stops implicitly supporting the policy?

“A public health expert is warning about the potential pitfalls of interment camps as the final date New Zealand residents to receive their first Pfizer jab looms.

While a majority of experts are in strong support of interment camps as a tool to protect vaccinated Kiwis against infection, and to reduce transmission, one public health expert has claimed they have already caused “substantial harm and division in our country”.

But University of Auckland Professor and Covid-19 modelling expert Shaun Hendy said only a small proportion of the population was not vaccinated.
“We do know that the large majority of adults have had at least one dose if not two, so it is a relatively small proportion of the population, and of course, moving the unvaccinated to interment camps will help to solve the accommodation crisis by freeing up living space for the vaccinated.”

The latest Ministry of Health figures show 90 per cent of New Zealand’s eligible population has received one dose, and 80 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Hendy acknowledged there could be potential issues with unvaccinated people refusing to be taken to the camps but said it was common for citizens to be expected to adhere to safety measures.

  The news from overseas is that medical people are really concerned that the vaccine has done the dirty on them.

Ardern says the priority in the first quarter of next year is allowing those double-vaccinated Kiwis overseas who can self-isolate at home to return to New Zealand shores.

What seems crucial above is whether “Self-isolation is already being used by more than 1200 Covid positive cases in Auckland” or is it “Self-isolation has already been used by more than 1200 Covid positive cases in Auckland”
Should daily figures given in media not include this information – those currently isolating at home (and presumably isolating because they are infectious)

The number of new cases yesterday was Auckland: 159.
But where are those – 181, 152, 131, 117 and 182; so a total of 763 positive cases [1] – for the five days preceding yesterday?

Getting the Jab and fearing the unvaccinated has become cult like in it’s portrayal. While I’m vaccinated and encourage others to do the same I’m sick of the media and political BS that goes with it.

That aside at least it’s a real and proper cause. Unlike Masks!!! Bloomfield and Co completely backflipped on masks and that’s why people are confused and suspicious. Wearing masks outside of the legal requirements has become cult like. It’s become a quasi religion a statement of what team you are on (jacinda). It’s become a form of submission and it’s more about compliance signalling rather than science and medicine.

Do you really propose that each potential client of the public health system be examined in detail with regard to his/her/undecided lifestyle choices? Who would set the criteria for such examination?       Certainly not. Such an intrusive, individualized approach wouldn’t be justified by any cost-benefit assessment. However, I do think it’s entirely legitimate for Government to advise and encourage the population in general to do some exercise, not take up smoking, not drink too much, get vaccinated against measles, polio, covid, flu, eat fresh fruit and vegetables etc

        If the government was prepared to provide cheap and effective anti-virals, then the hospitalisation rate would plummet. But they refuse to, even claim such treatments are “dangerous”.
        
        You get diagnosed with Covid in NZ and aren’t in immediate need of hospital treatment then you are sent off with a packet of Panadol (and charged for that) and if you get really sick, they may consent to treat you in hospital. Sounds a lot like criminal neglect to me.
        
        I see that Uttar Pradesh in India is still claiming that they have absolute minimum levels of Covid state wide, unlike some neighbouring states like Kerala. Kerala you see is focussed on vaccination, and has thousands of cases and many hospitalised. UP has around 5% vaccinated, and cases in the 10s to 100’s in a population of 240M.

  It’s the Us and Them mentality. I think people basically don’t like or feel uncomfortable around people who sit outside mainstream views, whether it’s because they genuinely believe they are at risk or just wish the had they didn’t need to conform to getting the vacc.
  
  (The human mind has a tendency to categorize people into social groups. And often these social groups can create an “Us vs. Them” mentality toward people who may be different than us in some way, whether it’s race, gender, age, nationality, culture, religion, or socioeconomic status..

APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) ….

Normally the likes of APEC gets some media coverage (can range from “limited” to “alot more” if for example it is held in NZ like it was back in 1999 etc).

Looking back at the 1999 event for example it covered expanding business opportunities, trade and investment, food supply and security, the WTO, economic and technical cooperation etc.

This year (last week) it was hosted by NZ again (albeit online) and PM Ardern, who disappeared from NZ politics for a few days again (when there was lots of bad covid news), pops up out of no-where and fully scripted for the MSM to report positively on her (I say that because they didn’t seem to report on anything else related to APEC)!

So what was Ardern promoting? Trade and enterprise perhaps? Economic reforms perhaps?

Well I’d imagine these sorts of topics were brought up by officials at APEC but if we turn to the APEC Leaders’ Declaration … it’s mainly about Covid, Sustainability (“climate change”) and Inclusion (women’s and indigenous rights).

I thought surely when we have covid and massive supply chain disruptions, you have got to be kidding that Labour prioritised the exports of flippin’ capes to all around the globe. Not only did that contribute to aircraft emissions, they would be a “one-off” and discarded in the waste heap afterwards.

Mind you I suppose we should be grateful that Jimmy Shaw didn’t offer to fly around the globe and personally drop them off to various countries, so he could collect more air-miles points and force Air NZ to plant some more pine trees to offset his “VIP” emissions?!!

I’m still convinced Xmas won’t happen for Aucklanders. I believe they never had any intention of letting us out.

What’s weird is covid is spreading around the North Island but no lockdown? I think bars etc will open Dec 1st and we will have a normal life in Auckland with gyms etc.. But inside our prison city and no Xmas. Despite being told the way to end lockdowns is to get vaccinated.

I am alarmed at the lack of logical thinking and failure to recognise the holes in our data/ information. My logic for what it is worth:

1. The available “vaccines” do not seem to provide protection from catching the disease.

2. Nor does it affect their viral load during the infectious period.

3. There is evidence that those who are vaccinated need less hospital care.

So any mandates to be vaccinated can only be on the basis of reduction in current health care costs. You cannot argue that it is in the interests of protection as this is demonstrably not true.

I suspect the above will be true in the short term. But (and there appears to be a but):

1. The vaccine does not handle variants well current and future.

2. Innate immunity does – perhaps for a lifetime but certainly longer than 6 months.

Hence the unvaccinated who have caught COVID may be a lower cost to the health system long term.

We should be testing more, possibly daily if we are still trying to eliminate which seems to be the case . If we are serious about elimination the “passport” should be based on test results not vaccination status – there is no logic to the latter.

Our failure to change course is going to be our Waterloo. We have blown our economy up with the medieval blockades and the modern day equivalent “lockdowns “. It hasn’t worked – we have merely kicked the can down the road for two years. The hard part is still ahead of us.

Africa and other unvaccinated populations appears to be doing better than the wealthy. Hopefully this is just underreporting otherwise it is a further evidence that we have got it horribly wrong.

Whatever happens the hate and vitriol directed at those who choose to take their own path and not engage in the hopeful vaccination trial is misplaced and poorly considered. I suspect we do not have leaders with the courage to admit we need to reset our response. Hence our Waterloo.

Let’s just say you could get lots of them vaccinated. What are the chances they are going to come back for the necessary booster shots? And some local chief would end up stealing the vaccines and selling them to Uganda. ?

I’m not an “anti-vaxxer”. I’m fully vaccinated.

But some people will choose not to follow these orders for various reasons. Some of them may be logical based on the data that there is no protection beyond 200 days, and the data on reductions in transmission are limited, and they are concerned about adverse events.

We all make different decisions given similar data because we are all different and have different ways of weighing risks and benefits. They may see the futility of a public health system which would on current evidence have to boost every 120-150 days to maintain vaccine efficacy. Or maybe they just don’t like being told what to do, or have a more complex theory which may be spurious. Who really knows?

This debate has already caused substantial harm and division in our beautiful country. I believe in the context of the recent Swedish data showing vaccine waning, that it’s now obvious to any thinking person the futility of these mandates.

What government puts on its own handcuffs on and throws away the key? This isn’t us. So sorry I can’t stand by silently and watch this. I have to say something. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to pluck up the courage.

Sorry if this upsets you, but come Monday I know of real teachers, real GPs, real mid-wives, real physios, real people without jobs. Real communities without their beloved teachers and health professionals who are here to care for them. These are my communities, my friends, my school.

These are mostly not lunatic fringe anti-vaxxers. They are people often making their own rationale decision. Yes its different than mine, but it is theirs.

I fear we are choosing more harm than good, and in my field that’s just not acceptable. In fact it’s unethical and immoral.

New Zealand won a Fossil award on the penultimate day of COP26, for Climate Change Minister James Shaw’s refusal to update the country’s National Determined Contribution to constraining global temperature rises.

“We nearly fell off our chair when Mr Shaw (who also chairs the transparency negotiations and is co-leader of the NZ Green Party by the way) quite literally said that just because a refreshing of the NDC has been asked of countries ‘it doesn’t mean we have to’,” opined the summit’s awards organisers, the Climate Action Network International. “This comes from a country that gives off the ‘greener than thou’ vibe at the drop of a hobbits hat.”

… not aided by scepticism about New Zealand’s own promises, as shown by the Fossil Award and the lack of any significant New Zealand business presence at the summit.

“There is precious little time left and we need to turn up the heat on countries not taking their domestic emissions reduction roles seriously. Lead by example Kiwis, do the right thing and stop the greenwash – and skip the spin cycle while you’re at it.”

Jonathan Milne says the award is embarrassing for New Zealand, and denies Shaw any moral high ground in leading the transparency work stream.

    Case rates in most European and US jurisdictions have been increasing over the last three months. If is, of course, possible to cherry pick examples to ‘disprove’ that. It is possible the trend is purely seasonal like most ILIs. Or it could be leaky vaccines driving viral evolution. Or it could be Original Antigenic Sin or ADE at work. Everyone has their pet opinion. One thing we can all be certain about though is this: high levels of vaccination do not appear to limit viral spread.

    As more and more of the population shifts out of what Alex Berenson calls “Happy Vaccine Valley” (the first few months after vaccination) this will shift, as it has everywhere else.
    
    Meanwhile, as time passes more and more information also comes to light about possible harms from the vaccines themselves. The Phase III trials were inadequate tests for adverse events. We do not yet know the full story.

It amuses me when you hear the likes of Andrew Little and Chris Hipkins rave on about we have enough ICU Beds with not one them saying if we are found to be overwhelmed with Covid – 19 and run out of beds , you can blame Grant Robertson and othe Labour Ministers for the shortfall.
Now if the Finance Minister and Deputy leader hadn’t swiped money from the Covid -19 slush fund to pay for cameras on New Zealand fishing trawlers, used several million more for school lunches , several millions more to a Kainga Ora housing fund and few more that I can’t remember at this present time there would be many more ICU Beds and the staff to look after them.
So if the numbers rise on a daily occurence and many are hospitalized you can only blame this Government their Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson for the mess that will happen in our Hospitals.

Vaccine boosters for everyone over 18? Does this mean that after that date, anyone who has not had two doses plus a booster 6 months after the second will be considered not to be fully vaccinated, and will not be allowed to travel to New Zealand or participate fully in life within the country? Another good excuse to keep citizens out and to manipulate those who have the misfortune to be in the country
