Labour up to the same carry on as they have portrayed since they became the Government, but this time it’s the Police Minister .
Nothing has changed same portfolio different Minister in Chris Hipkins and after National spokesperson Mark Mitchell accuses Labour of letting criminals operate with impunity as assaults on Police rise , saying 6 Police officers were assaulted every day last year- an increase of nearly 30% on 2018.
Police Minister Chris Hipkins said he utterly rejects what he calls “Nationals tough” stance . He said “National had a nasty habit of talking big in opposition and failing to act when in Government.
You just can’t trust them .

This is the pot calling the kettle with Labours track record of using the taxpayer money to bribe New Zealander’s and manipulating figures to suit their agenda.
The lies and deciet is a regular habit from the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her cabinet and corruption is rife in a Labour Partythat is more about themselves than the Taxpayer of New Zealand.

The Mahuta scandal gets more and more murky with the latest revelations from Thomas Cranmer on the appointment of Tipa Mahuta:

It would appear that the appointment process wasn’t as hands-off from Nanaia Mahuta as she assured everyone it was when she passed over the actual appointment to Kelvin Davis.

Kudos also to Simeon Brown, David Seymour and Paul Goldsmith, who have beavered away asking written parliamentary questions which have helped to establish a timeline of events. Cranmer ends the thread thus:

Clearly there are serious questions about the appointment process & the management of the on-going conflict which is at the heart of the Three Waters structure. Who will bring this out-of-control Minister to heel?

When will someone in the media decide that asking serious questions as to the probity of this government is more important than ongoing revenue from the Public Interest Journalism Fund? It will only take one media organisation with the integrity to do its job of holding the Government to account without fear or favour for the dam to break. The evidence is there, hiding in plain sight. It is of no credit whatsoever to the media that they continue to ignore these serious allegations.

  The arrogance in all this is breathtaking.
  
  That they thought they could just airily wave away NZers concerns about nepotism and perceptions of conflicts of interest.
  
  All of the Mahutas could have agreed beforehand that no applications for jobs or contracts will be made to any area of government that Nanaia has responsibility for and this whole tawdry saga could have been avoided. There is, of course, the whole rest of the economy, both public and private, where they could ply their trades.
  
  But no.
  
  With all that they claim is at stake with co-governance, the MHA and 3 waters etc you’d think they’d be doubly, triply, cautious not to do anything to endanger or jeopardise these initiatives in the public mind.
  
  But no.
  
  I say again, much more of this, which plays right into the hands of those who reckon these initiatives are nothing but a money and power grab by the Maori elite and for the Maori elite, and co-incident with the revelations that the polytechnic merger is a fast-moving train wreck, and Mahuta, Davis, Jackson etc will be the grave diggers of co-governance. If they are not already.
  
  In my view, all of this serves as a small foretaste of what is to come if the Maori elite succeed with their money and power grab.

    I don’t think the so called Māori elites will find there is much money left to grab. Most tax payers will leave the country leaving pensioners, dole wallahs, low skilled workers and assorted benefit recipients. Even more amusing they are intent on reduction of the agricultural sector possibly the only thing keeping the lights on and with the declaration that they will not be issuing anymore gas or oil exploration permits without any consultation have signaled to investors that New Zealand isn’t a safe place to invest. If anywhere like a million people leave the country you’ll watch your property value dwindle as well. Rant over

      Agree Stella. In a globalised world our beautiful country’s relative geographic isolation and small population are significant vulnerabilities to our ongoing economic and societal prosperity.
      
      This is a critical time for NZ to rebuild and promote productivity. However the government is insistent upon driving up costs that strangle business, whilst our labour market is short of critical skills, and the tourism and hospitality sectors are almost on life support.
      
      So if the government introduces an unstable pseudo democracy (cogovernance), with the resultant (state sponsored) racial tensions, and decreased business efficiency via cultural bureaucracy (council liaison with local iwi typically produces project delays and increased costs), the NZ future will be everything but prosperous.
      Then just add a Net Zero squeezed agricultural sector, broken and slowed transport networks and we’re heading more towards a crashed GDP and devaluation of the NZD as business leaves NZ; similar to guests running from a drunk incoherent party host.
      
      I do hope I’m wrong, and that Robbo and Orr have a ‘patriotic’ master plan I’m unable to see.

      And the election is over a year away. Tonight on the news is a story about yet another Public Health Service in crisis, the time St John Ambulance. How much more damage will this government do before it is fired? One could be forgiven for thinking that Labour is indulging in a scorched earth campaign so that National and ACT have nothing to inherit other than a country in total dysfunction.

      Steve I suspect a distinct lack of physical resilience. Pre pandemic it used to be called ‘real data driven’ medical science, which has now been replaced with ‘the government’s whole truth’ science.

  When i worked in Parliament all thos eyears ago, you could tell what letters came directly from a Minister’s office and what were prepared by the Department. The latter had a date stamp on, the former were typed in to the letter.
  
  This letter then ( unless things have changed) was not one prepared by the Department but by the Minister’s staff on her directions ( and perhaps acting on suggestions of her sister).

      I don’t get it. Why this expectation that Maori should remain the same people that they were pre European colonisation? We do not expect that Pakeha society not change. There are thousands of words of English that have been added since then. Why should Te Reo be any different? Why should we not speak Te Reo in the country it was born in. This attitude is short sighted, and, dare I say it, kind of ignorant. You are better than that.

    Indeed. As so many have said here before, all the millions of dollars spent trying to manipulate New Zealanders into changing the names they use to refer to various institutions and places has made little to no difference. It seems to me that the one name that is sticking is Waka Kotahi, and that’s only because the media are using it almost exclusively in preference to New Zealand Transport Agency.
    
    But nobody that I know talks of heading out of Tamaki Makaurau for the school holidays, flying down the motu to Otautahi or even just going for a road-trip down to Kirikiriroa. Nobody moans about the politicians at Paremata, or talks about going to visit Tamaki Paenga Hira to see the latest exhibitions.
    
    Sadly, I expect this nonsense to continue for a few years yet, and of course if anybody dares to point out the stupidity of trying to force people to refer to an essential service (the hospital) by a name that nobody understands, they’ll be howled down for being racist. Because apparently, being racist is far worse than running the risk of confusing people during a possible emergency situation, or failing to communicate the day’s news clearly and unambiguously, by using words and phrases that maybe 2% of the population understand.

      Let’s face it, if Maori funded, built, and staffed something as a stand-alone for themselves entity, they can call it whatever they like but leave entities that serve all of NZ alone.

A vote for National is a vote to pause, but not to undo, the madness of the last five years. A rampant ACT is the best chance we have of getting the country back onto a sane trajectory.

        I prefer my own choice of language , and it’s English , you and anybody else can go for your lives , it’s a free country , make signs dominant in English with small Maori underneath if you must , so everybody is easily informed .
        Never expect anybody to be like you coz you know best . That’s totalitarian .
        I prefer libertarianism.
        Each to their own .

        As it happens it’s been officially referred to Rakiura for almost 25 years.

        The name, “Stewart Island,” comes from William Stewart, first mate on the sealer Pegasus, who charted Port Pegasus in 1809.
        
        It goes back before the Treaty of Waitangi. Most Far South Maori are descendants of White whalers and sealers as well as of Maori.
        
        This is from the National Encyclopedia:
        
        In 1845 Wohlers [a German missionary] reckoned there were around 150 children of mixed descent around the shores of Foveaux Strait. The men had become boat builders, traders and millers. In origin they were mostly seafaring people such as Shetland and Orkney islanders, and also other Britons, Scandinavians, Germans and Americans .
        
        Later in the 19th century, there was an influx of Scots, and another dash of Scandinavians, this time Norwegian whalers.
        
        No way could MCos’s pre-European “original inhabitants” spell or write or read “Rakiura”, but it was and is more mellifluous than the first mate’s moniker.
        
        Today, in everyday jabber it’s typically “the island”, except for conservation Wokies. The problem is the push to force the use of “Rakiura,” which means “glowing skies” in reference to the Aurora australis.

    That’s just the start of it Gravel. Went to dig some data out of IRD for a taxpayer this morning and discovered that for the last decade odd their Employer contribution to Kiwisave has been provided by Te Whatu Ora, which I find a little strange given said organisation has only been “operational” for around 10 days, not 10 years. Guessing that many tens of thousands of taxpayers historical financial records have been “altered” in the name of “re-branding” !!!!!!

      While I don’t think it’s correct, this may just be a database/data issue. The name “Te Whatu Ora” was probably only changed in a single location and they have a key that links the client record to the Kiwisave contributor. That one change gets reflected back in time. The correct way to do it would have been to add a new record with a new key so the change is reflected correctly from when it happened. IRD were probably just too lazy to do it correctly.
      After 25+ years of database administration I’ve seen this sort of thing a lot.

        You will be almost certainly correct LM, however having spent the last couple of decades working at the “back of the front end” i.e. financial user perspective (or “front of the back end” from the IT perspective) I’ve had to do quite a few of this type of “brand change” exercise at both product and organisational level in C E environments.
        The key points really are:
        1) All the financial systems I’ve worked with have had the capacity to delineate between historical transactions and those going forward, I doubt the the new IRD system is any different – and;
        2) Auditors usually get their nickers in a twist if you start messing around with transactional data that has been “locked” following completion and publication of audit opinion, particularly where there is a public accessibility (customer) factor.
        This is possibly a cockup that will be corrected although both the lazy/convenient image aspects certainly crossed my mind.

    Gravel: You are half right … there is a taxpayer funded outfit- God knows what it costs – whose function is to invent new terms for things which were either unknown in 1840 or which the ancient Maori ĺknew nothing of. Said outfit has been around for at least 30 years. I believe it’s called the Maori Language Commission – or at least it was called that

Three waters was initiated due to the Havelock North (Hawkes Bay) water crisis a few years ago (tragically 4 lost their lives). On Q+A yesterday the mayors of 4 Hawkes Bay settlements (Wairoa, Napier, Hastings and Central Hawkes Bay) expressed their strong opposition to the plan. The programme however did find one Hastings councillor who was ardently supportive (or maybe that should be Ardernly).
That was Bayden Barber, chairman of Ngati Kahuungunu – what a surprise !!!!!.

I’m currently at **** hospital for a day procedure which was rescheduled to today due to short staffing, for my daughter (5) who is literally deaf and needs grommets to fix her ears. We’ve traveled from ********* at 530am.
Who can we write to to complain about staffing numbers. These guys are working their buts off, calling staff in on days off every week.
The anethetist is sick. So they have to take one from another department when hes finished his surgery. But we have to wait longer.
Now have to wait another hour cause there is an emergency surgery and not enough nurses to go around. The rest of the list has been canceled for the day. What can we do? Who can we bombard with complaints, it’s really bad .
I can hear the nurses telling each other to call the ombudsman, write to our mp. They are literally saying “we need more nurses now” ” we don’t have enough nurses”
😭😭😭
This is not good enough. These mandates need to go now!! The health system is struggling. How can we help???

AUT School of Hospitality and Tourism Professor David Williamson told Morning Report the sector had been reliant on cheap migrant labour for too long, and unions, fair pay and collective agreements needed to re-introduced.

Meanwhile a busy Lambton Quay café, long standing venue for our group, has closed. Permanently. Fortunately the excellent staff will have no trouble finding other jobs.

  There is no magic pool of ‘unemployed’ people who will take these jobs.
  
  The current minimum wage is $21.20 per hour. The cleaner I use recently advertised for cleaners. She is desperately short of staff. If anyone calls in sick, there is no slack. They need to cancel cleaning jobs.
  
  She told me she is paying $24.00 per hour. That is $960.00 per week. For cleaning. She got 2 applicants. They lasted a few days. Then did not turn up.
  
  It would make no difference if she paid $26.00, or $28.00. If she paid $45.00 per hour maybe she would get more cleaners. But at that price there would be no customers. She would need to charge me so much that I would cancel and do my own cleaning.
  
  That is what guys like this do not understand. There is a market price for cleaning services, and dining, and bar drinks. You can’t just double wages and pass those costs on to customers because your customers will vanish.

The latest batch of Pfizer safety study data released under court-order includes the review of safety when doses administered to pregnant woman. Some alarming takeouts:

1. 270 pregnancies. Pfizer state that of the 270 pregnancies they have absolutely no idea what happened in 238 of them. Imagine that. They simply ‘lost’ contact and ‘lost’ the data. This is the dog ate my homework stuff.

2. There were 34 outcomes altogether at the time of the report, but 5 of them were still pending. Pfizer note that only 1 of the 29 known outcomes were normal, whilst 28 of the 29 outcomes resulted in the loss/death of the baby. This equates to 97% of all known outcomes of Covid-19 vaccination during pregnancy resulting in the loss of the child. Here’s a chart of this data

      There is a new clown in the circus in today’s Herald. Anna Brooks from Auckland University. I’m guessing Wiles, Hendy, Jackson and Plank have either ducked for cover or have been thoroughly discredited so many times since the start of Ardern’s circus it was time to find some new clowns.
      Pushing the same flawed fear porn. Get another booster. The first three shots didn’t work, is this one different? No. She says “mask up” even though there is clear evidence now available clearly showing masks do basically nothing to prevent infection or transmission of covid or any other airborne virus.

  Krazykiwi, I think we need to read the Pfizer report with less biased eyes:
  The report notes that:
  -126,212,580 doses of BNT162b2 were shipped worldwide during 01 December 2020 through 28 February 2021.
  -By 28 Feb 2021 there had been 42,086 case reports of adverse events.
  -270 of those 42,086 cases were pregnant women.
  -Of those 270 pregnant women, outcomes for 238 were not known. This could be because the pregnancies were still on-going.
  -In order to know how bad it was, we need to know how many pregnant women were vaccinated with Pfizer by Feb 2021, and what outcomes were like for women in similar stages of pregnancy that weren’t vaccinated.
  
  We shouldn’t get wound up by the data in Table 6. I don’t think the entire report means anything really. The report contains data for the numerators, but not the denominators, so we can’t really make anything of the report.

      It’s estimated that around 10-15% of recognised pregnancies (the women are aware that they are pregnant) end in loss, so if it’s 10.47% it is not alarming.
      
      But remember that this rate is for people who reported adverse events. What happened to those who didn’t report AEs? Did they not experience any AEs, or did they experience but not report? What were their pregnancy outcomes? What were the outcomes for pregnant women who were not vaccinated? At least show me some comparable data by age and how far along in the pregancy. As I said before, this report is meaningless by itself.

      It looks like decades ago they may have been called ‘service stations’ because you could have your car serviced as well as get petrol. You can see cars in that photo that look like they are being worked on.
      
      So the guy that offered ‘to check your oil’ may have been a mechanic. The folk employed in ‘petrol stations’ today would mostly not know anything about checking oil.
      
      Maybe I am mistaken. Some folk here may know. 🙂

        The first car I drove was a Humber 80. Built like a steel ship, cornered reluctantly, gears only changed under duress, and it constantly billowed smoke from the exhaust. I stopped at a semi-rural service station in Wairarapa and the mechanic came out front and said “I’ll fill it with oil and check the petrol if you’d like” 🙂

        In Bangkok one doesn’t need to get out of the car.
        Pull up at the pump (Thai word for a petrol station is ‘pump’) & tell an attendant what you want. Petrol, water, oil, check the tyres.
        Some places they’ll clean the car, inside & out, for a few bucks.
        There’s attendants everywhere, often Burmese. We asked one once how much she got paid. Petrol is currently less than $2/litre for 95. It would take that particular attendant about four days at least to make enough money for a tank of petrol.

    Cars don’t have water in their radiators? I know they call it “coolant”, but it’s basically water and antifreeze. The mix can vary depending on where you live, but I still top up with water. I put a bit of anti freeze in coming in to winter.

      I was referring to ‘water alone’. Only putting water in your radiator would be a bad idea. I would not even top it up with water. I buy the correct pre mixed coolant.

        Not really. The tap water is usually not mineralised enough to act as an electrolyte. The main purpose of “anti-freeze” is to prevent corrosion and to increase boiling temperature. The frost protection bit is not really required in the most of NZ climatic conditions.

      Steve – yes, that’s the mix I use. 50/50
      Works out cheaper than buying coolant specifically, especially if you buy bulk which we do with most things due to location. 2o litres of chain bar oil has lasted 10 years. Probably got a year’s worth still to go. $4 a litre as opposed to $10 if you buy 4l from Supercheap Auto. Also you a few less plastic containers to dispose of. The 20s come in handy around the place for other things.

  The “service” station I frequent is a strictly do-it yourself outfit. The employees stand steadfastly behind their counters and look out the windows at the little old ladies and gentlemen struggling with pumps and “bonnets”.
  If you need help you need to ask a fellow customer and just hope they don’t make off with your wallet or steal ya car.

        Nah, no connection between organic farming and communism. The biggest problem, as I see it, was trying to do it overnight. The Sri Lankan agrieconomy was addicted to high use of fertilisers, which was, obviously, unsustainable. They suffered a 25% cut to output as a result of this. Interestingly, they may have gone on for another 10 or 20 years with super amounts of fertiliser, but then their agriculture would have collapsed completely. Probably an incremental approach would have been more desirable, although still not great. It’s a legacy problem, really.

On Friday I had too take a horse from Rotorua to Cambridge for My partner.
It was raining heavily, huge potholes were appearing in the roads.

There were several Facebook posts warning of potholes and 10 plus cars being on the roadside north of Taupo with flat tyres.

We dropped the horse off and were returning with the empty float, going up a passing lane just south of Karapiro we hit a pothole, back tyre blew out, no control, the float pushed us up a steep bank on the left and we rolled and were stuck upside down on the road in the pouring rain.

We are lucky to be alive, just cuts and bruises and and shock.
State highway one is a disgrace, reminds me of a Top Gear Africa special where they had to dodge huge potholes everywhere.

We are descending rapidly to third world conditions.
And it is costing lives, it almost cost My life and that of My partner and her daughter last Friday.

I didn’t think I could despise this Govt more, I was wrong.

  Yes, SH1 is a disgrace in the Far North too. The southern approach to Whangarei has been road works going nowhere for years now. The new Waikato Expressway is a disgraceful goat track surface especially the left hand lane the trucks mostly use. Dome valley is one long 50 km/h roadwork. Warkworth is an overloaded bottleneck. H&S has obviously tripled the cost of doing anything and moving road cones is clearly the most profitable transport industry.

  There was some work done recently at the intersection just down from our business. When they filled the large hole in the road (about three metres square), it was topped with hot mix, and the road was immediately reopened. Because the hot mix didn’t have time to properly consolidate before the traffic started flowing, there are now large gouges in the surface, and when I drove over it this morning it was as rough as guts; you certainly wouldn’t want to hit it on a bike or a motorcycle. Oh, for the good old days when road repairs, like so many things now not happening, were done properly!

      What is conservatism other than the paradigm model of right wing politics? The distinction between “left” and “right” dates to the time of the French Revolution, where the revolutionary Jacobins sat on the left of the assembly, while the conservative monarchists sat on the right.
      
      If conservatism is about rootedness, the nation, tradition, order and hierarchy (which it is), then libertarianism is about as far removed from this concept as it is possible to be. Because it is extremely socially liberal, libertarianism doesn’t at all fit into the category of “right wing.” As I suggested above, “right wing” has come to be equated with something like “libertarianism” (i.e. small government and do as you please), because changing what it meant to be right wing was the best way to neuter it. An authentic conservative right wing movement coming to prominence would be the death knell to failing neo-liberalism, which is why the political enemies of the Liberal World Order are, most prominently, conservative nationalist Christians.
      
      Traditional societies tended to be autocracies (reflecting the notion of hierarchy vs egalitarianism), whereby the autocrat/monarch ruled in the best interests of the people. A dictatorship in itself is less the issue than the nature of the ruling ideology. The National Socialists, the Italian Fascists and the Marist-Leninist Soviets were all dictatorships, but their doctrines were not at all comparable. It is arguable that our apparent liberal democracy has become less democracy and more oligarchy or plutocracy, with a thin veneer of popular participation but, in reality, a top-down imposition of globalism/neo-liberalism.
      
      In many ways, I’d actually rather an autocratic system that imposed the right values, than a democracy that gave us a society with all of the wrong ones.

      Here’s hoping Kemi Badenoch gets a crack at the job. She sounds like the first sensible politician I’ve heard in a few years. Luxon would do well to pay attention. The National Party in NZ is in a similar space to the Conservatives. This is part of an op-ed she had published in The Times.

We need the discipline to transform government into an effective and streamlined machine for delivery, not a piggy bank for pressure groups.   Ian Foster has the unenviable win record of 69.57%. Only Laurie Mains (23 wins from 34 tests at 67.65%) holds a worse record as All Blacks coach in the World Cup era, but his team faced way better sides, albeit with Taine Randall, who was a pretty bad All Blacks captain.
  
  If you remove Ian Foster’s results against Tonga, Fiji and USA that winning record drops to 60%.

He relentlessly grilled Arden about the disastrous hospital and health crises and why we were in lockdown with far fewer deaths but not now when things are far worse. He refused to accept her lame response that it’s up to us to wear masks. He hammered home the incompetence and lack of delivery of her government on every major issue – poverty, housing, health, infrastructure. He had her on the back foot, blustering in a frantic word salad as she realised for once she was going to have to account for the catastrophic failings of her ministers.

And then I woke up. It was all a dream.

How Many Mistakes Does an Expert Have to Make Before They Are No Longer an Expert?
Our health service is in crisis, unable to cope, and all-cause mortality is running at record levels.
Ministry of Health data, released two days ago, shows that it is not due to Covid. This morning both main newspapers rushed to ask the experts.

In the NZ Herald, Associate Professor Dr. Siouxsie Wiles, frequent media commentator and expert on the bioluminescence of superbugs, said she was frustrated because:

“There wasn’t a critical mass of people using basic Covid-19 protections…such as RATs, masks, self-isolation and vaccines…I don’t understand why we aren’t using these measures we know work.”

Even though we are arguably the most highly vaccinated, tested, and masked nation in the world, apparently it isn’t enough for Dr. Wiles.

Epidemiologist Dr. Michael Baker often referred to as “New Zealand’s expert”, echoed Dr. Wiles when he called for more compulsory masking and a return to strict government-mandated lockdown orders.

Vaccine-champion Dr. Baker diverged from Wiles and additionally called for new vaccines to be produced (presumably ones that he imagined might actually work).

In Stuff newspaper, Covid Response Minister Dr. Ayesha Verrall said we are “flying blind,” and the situation is “getting more challenging.” The article summarised:

“Hospitals are under extreme pressure: In Northland, emergency department patients are being seen in corridors or treated in chairs. A woman who left an overloaded emergency department in Auckland due to an hours-long wait died, and Christchurch is reporting “all-time high” patient numbers.”

Dr. Verrall advised people to get masked up and boosted. Yes, Dr. Verall, but we already are.

Cellular immunologist Dr. Anna Brooks, who describes herself as a Long Covid advocate, joined the expert crowd in blaming Covid for our health woes but added the word ‘reinfection’, saying that 1% of Covid cases were reinfections.

Sorry Dr. Brooks, a 1% rate of Covid reinfections cannot be sinking our health service; that is a statistical impossibility.

Wellington epidemiologist and public health expert Dr. Amanda Kvalsvig also blamed Covid for our health woes and called for a high suppression strategy to protect our school system whereby we could hide at home while government workers bring us safely sanitized meals on wheels. An apparent adaptation of the unpopular and failing Chinese model.

NZ’s expert Dr. Baker elaborated—we need to “normalise the new normal” by launching “a new revolution in the air that we share.” We all need to follow suit for the foreseeable future by using high-quality, respirator-style masks. Did he mean aqualung suits? I’m not sure.

Dr. Baker described this as an “arms race.” The trouble is that no one knows who or what we are actually racing against.

If It Is Not Covid, What Is Going on?
Yesterday the Ministry of Health reported that just nine people in the whole of New Zealand are in intensive care for Covid—less than 4% of operative New Zealand intensive care beds.

In December last year, the government reported that we could triple ICU capacity at the drop of a hat should the need arise. Clearly, Covid hasn’t brought the New Zealand health service to its knees, so what has?

Dr. Verrall is right that we are flying blind.

As I reported two days ago, we are not being given the information we need to sort this out. Apparently, no one, including our Covid Response Minister, knows what people are crowding into hospitals for. We have no information on the rates of specific conditions.

If you have worked in food safety, you know that a little focused information gathering goes a long way. Dr. Verrall should know this; also, she received her expert qualification in tropical medicine, bioethics, and international health (yes, bioethics) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Alabama University, and the Gorgas Institute in Peru, focusing on tuberculosis.

The health service is stretched, but Dr. Verrall can quickly get a handle on the situation by undertaking focused sampling of specific conditions at a single DHB or hospital.

This should give her (and us) a reliable indication of why people are being hospitalized or reporting sick to their GPs in record numbers. I’m not sure why she hasn’t already done this?

Aside from blaming Covid, Dr. Verrall also mentioned winter flu, although no one appears sure if this has even arrived yet.

The UK also has excess all-cause mortality at a rate very similar to ours, but they are not in flu season; the northern hemisphere is in the middle of summer.

Their official figures also reveal excess mortality is not due to Covid, but like us, rates of specific conditions have not been made available.

We are in the midst of a health crisis. We have introduced a novel biotech ‘vaccine’ which operates in a way never before used on the public. The safety trials were never completed and their integrity has been questioned.

The rates of adverse effects, including serious effects, are running at 50 times any previous vaccine. Published studies are questioning vaccine safety.

Studies point to reduced immunity. Excess all cause deaths are at record levels. Birth rates have dropped to record lows around the world. What is difficult about these clues?

We are being told to treat the New Zealand government as our one source of truth and advised not to stray into the uncharted territory of other ‘sources’ (???).

What do we do if the government pretends not to know and apparently doesn’t appear ready to find out?

Do you feel like me that we are being trained not to ‘read’? People who ‘read’ are being labelled as alien conspiracy theorists, naughty nerds, or even by our PM as terrorists about to start a war. Is this the modern NZ equivalent of book burning?

You don’t have to stray very far from the authorised government expert reading list to find evidence of the source of our health crisis.

If you dare, have a quick gander for example, at the Australian magazine Air Line Pilot October/November 2021 edition, a page 15 table reports one pilot died in 2019, 6 in 2020, and 111 in 2021. Pilots are vaccine mandated.

There is a similar mysterious rise in sudden deaths among sports people. Or go and ask funeral homes, the ACC, emergency responders, or insurance companies what is happening. They’ll tell you, even if Dr. Verrall can’t or won’t

Apparently, no one in the conventional medical system wants to blame a vaccine for anything, but when all other possible causes have been eliminated, you may have to bow to the inevitable and accept the need for careful evaluation through the collection and publication of detailed statistics across a very broad range of conditions. It’s the traditional and reliable way these things are worked out,

Come on Dr. Verrall, step up to the plate. Wittering on about “troubled times ahead” due to as yet unknown Covid variants doesn’t cut the expert mustard.

Move out from under the shadow of our all-knowing Prime Minister. The house is on fire. First of all identify exactly which house is on fire, and then get out the fire hoses.

Be brave, resilient, and silent no more!

      I’m just amused at Maggie Pie’s obviously bogus pretensions to a high life, which varies so markedly from her actual circumstances.
      I seem to recall a Kiwiblog commenter a few yeats ago always boasting about his car and boat. He was, rightly, ridiculed too.
