Electoral Commission attended Mongrel Mob where Labour MP Ingrid Leary dropped in.
Taieri MP Ingrid Leary mistook Mongrel Mob Hui in Dunedin for a Electoral Commission meeting because there were Commission staff there.
The Commission has confirmed to the Herald that it was invited to Mongrel Mob members Harry Tams election hui at the weekend.
This should be sending alarm bells out to the Country when our Government paid employees are meeting with gang members and criminals at a hui organized by Mongrel Mob Leader Harry Tam especially after former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern donated over $20,000 to the same Harry Tam to help there members in drug dependency before last Election when Harry Tam was also calling on his Mongrel Membership to vote Labour at that Election.

      We register voters and add them to the electoral roll. We keep the electoral rolls up to date and accurate so:
      
      * all registered voters can take part in parliamentary elections
      * elections run smoothly.
      We also supply electoral rolls to local authorities for use in local authority elections.

        If the leader of that criminal enterprise can make such a public and well publicised ploy of supporting his chosen party , Labour , then there’ll be no need for him or anyone else to invite govt or MP types to a meeting to encourage enrolment .
        
        They are very well organised and seem to be able to attain their ends very easily , thank you very much.
        
        They can get millions from labour , they can get the police to direct traffic at their parades and they have flooded the country with drugs.Now they can get MPs and public servats to play the part of extras at their meetings .
        
        How then is it so difficult for them to enroll when their head wants them to.
        
        This was yet another publicity stunt by organised crime and there’s been no shortage of idiots fall for it.
        
        The sooner everyone wakes up the cynical and critical dangers that organised crime poses this country the better.

      Tony is exactly right. One of the commission’s jobs is to encourage enrolment. That might extend to people who you might prefer didn’t vote. Shocking, huh?
      BTW, ‘ballot harvesting’ is a different, largely mythical, behavior, with zero relevance to NZ elections.

        Dis information Mike. Ballot harvesting is a real practice and is defined in law in the US. It is 100% NOT Mythical.
        
        To increase voter participation, various organizations in multiple states have made active and coordinated efforts to collect absentee voters’ ballots during elections. Then they drop them off at polling places or election offices.
        
        This practice, known as ballot harvesting, has been effective and, unsurprisingly, has generated controversy.

        Sorry, got that a bit wrong. Ballot harvesting, aka ballot collecting, is explicitly illegal in many of the US states most keen on suppressing voter numbers. Many of the electoral practices we take as normal in a developed country, such as encouraging enrolment, postal voting and providing assistance for people to vote, are deliberately commingled in the US with ideas about alleged voter fraud.

        It is pure opinion that any states are keen on suppressing voter turn out. Georgia, which the dems claim suppresses voter turnout, has been increasing turn out significantly since new ‘strict’ voter requirements were enabled.
        
        I would strongly argue vote harvesting, collecting votes from other people and depositing them at a voting both, is a practice that massively increases the risk of voter fraud. There is no reason for it to exist which is why it doesnt exist here.
        
        Your claim that postal voting is standard in countries other than the US is also BS. We have postal voting here for ‘spcial votes’ (the people who cant get to booths) however voters are strongly encouaged to vote in person on the day. This was also the practice in the US up until COVID (how do you think the milatary vote?). So the US and NZ were very with regards to postal voting up to COVID, where they became more in on postal ballets than us. Likely we would have as well if we had voting during lockdown.

      She is the PM’s chief science advisor. Ardern praised her to the heavens when she was resigning as PM. In a response to the first email she downplayed her role. Basically saying covid policy was nothing to do with her and hadn’t been for a while.
      So why was she one of only two people actually named by Ardern in regards to the covid response? She was simply asked, based on current evidence, had she changed her position in regards to policies implemented at the time.
      Crickets.
      
      Another coward hiding and hoping everyone forgets what happened the last 3 years and it all goes away. They won’t and it won’t.

        One of the features of modern technology has been the much-increased ease of communication from cranks. In the good old days, the ‘crazies’ folder in the correspondence filing cabinet was quite small. These days, the volume of emails is such that I would expect crank communications are not kept or recorded, let alone receive replies. This would apply especially to questions about popular ‘alternative’ topics, where the correspondents would already have the answers they considered correct from random postings on social media sites.

        @plc – I have it on record, she is minimising her involvement with all things covid dramatically. I accepted this when I got the first response from her PA.
        Then I became aware of the numerous statements from Ardern who was effusive in her praise of Gerrard. A substantial difference of opinion.
        When pressed on this conflict the correspondence ended very abruptly. A common theme when you get an unsuspecting party who thinks they can fob you off with waffle. It must be a hell of a shock when they are called out with evidence and asked to elaborate.
        
        Personally I have no doubt she knows she got it badly wrong and is desperately hoping it all goes away. She’s not alone in that position, particularly among those in the public service paid for by taxpayers.

      Perhaps she should devote her effort to the problem (related to her ‘portfolio’) of students leaving school with little to no understanding of key scientific concepts and what that means for New Zealand’s future.

      I’m struggling as to why the chief science advisor is writing such a report. Maybe you could argue social sciences but this is a matter for experts in criminology, justice, sociology and possibly public health but it seems quite a leap from tackling that tricky little virus.

One of NZ’s oddities is how Pacific Islanders are lumped together with Maoris whenever negative position statistics are discussed. Yet, Pacific Islanders are simply another immigrant group, with no greater claim on NZ’s resources than any other immigrant group.

Put another way, how long do unwhite Africans have to be in NZ, and how many of them do there have to be before the standard phrase becomes ‘Maori, Pasifika and African’?

  This suggests the Maori Health Authority is even more race-based than it at first appeared.
  
  On the face of it, Labour is following the advice suggestion of Odakyu-Sen and creating a separate system for Polynesians.
  
  Unless, unless … Labour is including Melanesians, such as Fijians, in the Maori Health Authority. They are Pacific Islanders. How would Labour classify ethnic Indian people of Fiji? They are Pacific Islanders. As of course is everyone in New Zealand.
  
  How do non-Maori Woke people rationalise a separate Maori Health Authority? On the one hand they want multiculturalism, and on the other hand their Labour Government is charging into race-based systems.

  But I digress, my husband cant find a marginally qualified or experienced person in his field under 30 across the whole Wellington region. All employers are saying the same, its off to Aus, Europe the UK in every case.
  
  He’s 69 and wants to retire but the owner of the business he runs freaked when he said he was thinking about retiring.
  
  The scenario in Wellington we are staring at is this. In the last 3 years so many people have been hired on age, identity, ideology that the Govt departments are all on their knees. There are huge skills and leadership gaps which probably also drive the young ones offshore. Over the last 3 years, the Govt sector has pushed out many cis white males over the age of 50 and its led to a real dearth of knowledge and skills.
  
  The people they have promoted are all the most progressive and the most of the places are hell to work in. Meritocracy is a dirty word and its all point scoring and passing the buck. Even the supposedly independent Commissions have pulled back on doing their jobs properly in favour of easy wins or politically approved ‘wins’.
  
  I’m not right wing and have never voted national but unless the right gets in and the Nats/Act coalition straightens things out the country wont survive.
  
  I am not convinced enough people out side of Wellington understand how extremely badly things are going in government. There’s non delivery and then there is complete and utter crisis which is what we are looking at.

  Honest to Gods truth, the media got hold of the diversion story and kickback was being felt so suddenly the police made a mistake.

Yesterday some colleagues and I were discussing how to get stroppy kids off the roof.

Our plan would probably taken 2 minutes – not enough time to find them blankets or order a bucket of KFC.

Shoot the biggest one with a rubber bullet/beanbag round. Ask who wants to be next. Maybe play eenie-meenie-minie-moe.

For the feint of heart, a paintball gun with pepper balls would be a softer option.

Now the only “consequences” these kids have learned is that every time you want KFC you just climb on the roof.

Have not been out boating/fishing on the harbour for a while (surgery and injury things) I see on the idiot box today an item about snapper with white flesh syndrome. I do remember a similar back in the 70s. When filleting the fish had pockets of mushy flesh. It also did not smell that great. Did not eat it. We thought it was because of an industrial spillage somewhere up the Tamaki river. Anyone else remember this?
Authorities today say it is malnutrition. I thought snapper would be well fed as they will be coming in to breed soon.

  My son caught some white fleshed snapper off the coast of Hot Water Beach this summer so would have thought this is not from malnutrition or industrial spillage. Seems very odd as we have never caught white fleshed snapper in this area in the over 50 years we have been fishing there.

Interesting piece from Richard Prebble in today’s Herald (paywalled) where he predicts around 22 Labour MP’s will be looking for a new gig after the General Election.

The alarming lapses in ministerial judgment have an explanation: stress. People under stress often make poor decisions.

Commentators read the polls to determine who will be the government. MPs, however, read the polls to determine whether they will have a job.

In September last year, National/Act first went ahead in the polls. Since that date, a third of Labour’s MPs have realised they are going to be ejected.

It’s the curse of a big majority. The bigger the win, the bigger the loss. This election day, at least 22 Labour MPs’ parliamentary careers will end.

Personally, I think Prebble is being a little conservative here. I can see Labour losing up to half of its current 62-seat caucus. They’re going to lose plenty of seats, including one or two that aren’t on journalists radars yet, and it will be slim pickings on the Party List, given that Grant Robertson and Adrian Rurawhe will be handed high list placings. Kieran McAnulty is in for a real scrap with Wairarapa farmer Mike Butterick but might just scrape in on the list, but if Ginny Anderson loses Hutt South, she won’t get a second chance. Nor will Willow-Jean Prime in Northland, Priyanka Radhakrishnan in Maungakiekie or Jo Luxton in Rangitata.

  Luxton has no show, I even told her to brush up her cv when she magically appeared on my feed that I was following her, Parker, Angry Andy will be worried, and I think Allan will lose her seat after the election but probably won’t be so high on the list, how ever, they will lose many many electorates, so they could be saved, o’Conner snd Anderson will lose, and Labour will lose Napier , that’s three electorates they thought were theirs, some of those Wellington seats will have vote splitting snd May we’ll see long time Labour seats fall

One of Stuff’s top editors has quit after less than six months in the role, amid a raft of leadership changes at the media company.

Caitlin Cherry was announced by Stuff, with fanfare, as the editor of The Dominion Post in December last year, and she started in the role on February 7.

The consensus around the Wellington Mayors ‘do you know who I am’ comment seems to be that she was ‘big-noting’.
I have a different view.
She approached the waiter swinging an empty wine bottle, announced she was the mayor, then said ‘do your thing’.
That sounds very much like she was using her position and power to push a young waiter into breaking the law (ie. serve alcohol to an already intoxicated patron). I’m sure there must be a law against that.
Oh well at least the restaurant hasn’t buckled to the cancel mob.

If this goes through, the next problem will be doctors, who will be pissed.

A 1st year graduate nurse, who will have incurred a student debt of (on average) $19300, and studies for 3 years, is now likely to be paid at a starting rate of $69,566 plus penal rates.

A 1st year doctor who has studied for 6 years, and has incurred a debt of, on average, $77,000, is now on a starting salary of $65,949, plus penal rates.

A police diversion application for a man charged after an assault of a pensioner at the Posie Parker rally in March has been withdrawn and the case is heading back to court.

The Herald can reveal the 20-year-old’s case will be reviewed in the Auckland District Court next month. He’s pleaded not guilty after a 71-year-old nana of six was allegedly assaulted at Albert Park.

  China is our predominant trading partner and they don’t believe in this BS and there’s been no utterances from them about this matter AFIK.
  I haven’t heard anything from the Australians about this crap and they are leading us in establishing trading partners.
  BTW, Aust is rapidly making inroads into trade agreements with India, and AFIK, India’s not likely to impose any restrictions with regard to Methane reduction.
  Hipkins, in your time remaining as PM, extract your head from the Green Party’s arses and govern the country in the best interests of its population, not your minor political partner’s ideologies.

  He’s been over in China setting up trade deals FFS. WE, yes US, New Zealanders, buy tons of products from China. They are not exactly known as an eco friendly country.
  
  Why does he think other countries care about methane/CO2/pollution/animal rights etc etc when his own government doesn’t even give a damn and is actively encouraging us to import even more of said products.

  Tim Grosser made the same claim a decade ago, when I challenged him on what research the government had done to prove this he replied with generalisations, making it pretty clear there was no research to back government policy.
  Looking back it’s amazing the damage done to the agricultural industries by Key’s government and the current crop of clowns.
  Dairy farmers I talk to are very disillusioned and tired of the endless government crap.

I remember when

Dr John Campbell’s announces studies showing world-wide increase in cases of Type 1 Diabetes in U-19 year-olds.
During pandemic 42 studies, involving 102,984 participants.
In Year 1 of pandemic (2020) number of new cases increased by 14%.
This increased to 27% in Year 2 (2021).
Results for following years not yet available.
For Europe there has been a year-on-year increase of 3-4% prior to pandemic, so numbers have been increasing.

  I saw that. Quite concerning. Type two diabetes is one thing..but type 1. Hard to explain as typically due to genetic factors.
  
  I guess it’s just a coincidence that we forced an experimental gene therapy onto the kids.
  
  Must be another coincidence that this will create millions of life long customers for pharmaceutical companies.
  
  The public need to wake up, and fast.

  I occasionally watch JC on YouTube. I didnt see this but it sounds about right if you consider that Type 1 Diabetes is an auto immune condition (I think that’s correct) so Covid screws the immune system badly by overloading it? (and that’s without considering what the vaccines may have done). Long Covid is evidence of this.
  
  Interestingly I watched something the other day by a famous modern ‘psychic’ who I dont believe is a psychic more an absorber ans analyser of info (I have this trait also to an extent) so I was listening yadda, yadda thinking yeah, analytically I can see that.
  
  The only thing he said that I hadn’t already come to myself was -“I have a sense something else Covid related is coming”. Basically he said because of the considerable immune system effects, he believes that with repeated exposure to Covid, that some other subset illness related to auto immune wil likely emerge. He described it as a subset of an illness like Shingles are to ChickenPox. And I have to say, analysing it a bit more I think he may be right. He said it wouldnt be Long Covid which we already have. So food for thought.

“I write to note that this case involves an issue of ongoing importance: whether the Equal Protection Clause permits governments to use race or ethnicity as a proxy for health risk and therefore “prioritize the treatment of patients” on that basis.”

“the State’s guidance specified that “ ‘[n]onwhite race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor’” when prioritizing patients. The State justified the use of race and ethnicity as proxies for health risk by appealing to “‘longstanding systemic health and social inequities.’””.

“As we have stated many times and have recently reaffirmed, the Equal Protection Clause places a “daunting” obstacle in the way of any government seeking to allocate benefits or burdens based on race or ethnicity, typically giving way only when the measure in question is “ ‘narrowly tailored’ ”—that is, “ ‘necessary’ ”—to “remediat[e] specific, identified instances of past discrimination that violated the Constitution or a statute.” Therefore, government actors may not provide or withhold services based on race or ethnicity as a response to generalized discrimination or as a convenient or rough proxy for another trait that the government believes to be “‘characteristic’” of a racial or ethnic group.”

“Under that precedent, New York’s general reference to “longstanding systemic health and social inequities” would not have sufficed to allow the State to deny a person medical treatment simply because that person is viewed by the State as being a member of the wrong racial or ethnic group. But in the event that any government again resorts to racial or ethnic classifications to ration medical treatment, there would be a very strong case for prompt review by this Court.”

I wish we had people with that level of common sense on this subject.

WASHINGTON, July 4 (Reuters) – A white powder found inside the White House late on Sunday was identified by Washington’s fire department and emergency services as cocaine, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.

The source said the powder was found in the West Wing, but gave no further details.

A woman is recovering in hospital after being attacked at her South Auckland home in the middle of the night by a group of up to 10 women wielding bats.

Police are investigating the home invasion and whether the woman is known to the group of female offenders who also smashed up the property.

The potential offer for police diversion application for the man charged after an assault of a pensioner at the Posie Parker rally in March was an administrative error and has been withdrawn.

And police have confirmed the man involved is now set for another court date.

The Herald can reveal the 20-year-old’s case will be reviewed in the Auckland District Court next month. He’s pleaded not guilty after a 71-year-old nana of six was allegedly assaulted at Albert Park.

Think about the corporate surveillance world we now live in.

Just take your mobile phone. Big tech is collecting extremely personal data on you 24/7. It’s listening to you and those in the background, wherever you are. It most likely has collected your face print and your fingerprints together with a voice-print and the unique idiosyncrasies of the way you type. If you turn the phone off, the phone is secretly still active as a bluetooth-tile type locator. They collect where you are, who you communicate with, what you type, what you search, your banking and credit card info, and on and on the list goes.

And why all this dystopian madness? So advertisers can try to push yet more crap on you that you wouldn’t ordinarily be interested in.

And we just sit back and accept this.
