Congratulations Michael and Chaucey

Big congratulations to Chaucey and Michael, who are expecting a baby on the 2nd of January!

I can recall when they first met – Michael being an ACT staffer, and Chaucey a Young Nat. Incidentially they are the second ACT-National (when they got together) couple to announce a preganancy this month. All looking good for the 2026 election!

Things looking good for the 2026 election? Maybe. The problem is that if you raise your children to be independent thinkers, they have a distressing tendency to go exactly the opposite way from Mum and Dad, just to prove that they can!

Not really. ACT won’t be around. I’ll be amazed if they’re round for the next election.

DFR – Tis true, my parents are strong, South Dunedin Labour Party people.

.LEFT – If I had a dollar for everytime I had heard ACT was going to disappear ‘at the next election’ I’d have about $1000 by now.

Thank you David. Now I have stopped feeling ill all the time we can actually get excited about the baby. (and it is exciting!)

I’m not sure politics runs in families. At least not in mine or Michaels. I suspect the same is true for religion.

Maybe a poll on that would be interesting.
