Been a while since it hailed in Wellington. A nasty wee night outside.

Don’t be like that. It was sunny on Sunday, and again on Monday. We’re long overdue some rain…

So there is a God, and he/she is pouring cold water on Wellington.

I am reminded by the weather comments of friends in Wellington when I visit “you should have been here yesterday, it was such a nice day”

And speaking of pouring cold water – Helen Clark is at her most venomous when pouring cold water on the three previous decades as economic destruction by Muldoon, Douglas, and Richardson. Dripping with contempt.
Muldoon, whose use of power she emulates.
Douglas, one voice in the Labour Cabinet where she was a fellow Minister in a Lange Labour Government.
Richardson, one person in the National Cabinet run by her “fix-it-man” friend Jim Bolger.
And will Cullen be the odious villain of the 2000s, one voice in a Helen Clark Labour led Government?

Great to watch the sport-starved tykes playing their first game of soccer in six weeks on Saturday – in a blizzard. It actually started snowing between the bursts of hail – now that’s character building for a 7 year old! The dog is unimpressed, however.
Vote:Gerry&PM – what a tragic mind you must have to think a post on the weather is a forum for ranting about Helen Clark! I might agree with the sentiments, but find a more relevant thread for them!
Shit. As I type, the hail starts again.

Wellington is one of the best places to be when the weather is spot on.
And one of the worst places to land in an aircraft when the weather is truly inclement.
Love the place, and for up to 6 days a year would be very happy to live there!

No hail here in London. Still summer here.

Did I mention I´m blogging on a new eee pc901?

Yes , DPF, I suppose the only ‘hailing’ that usually goes on down there is the one which saves you from having to stagger 100 yards down to the next wine-bar.
“Taxi!!”
hoh hoh!

JohnMacc – I accept your point about this being a post about the weather only. I am self-imposing a week-long ban from commenting for thread-jacking.

This weather definitely good news for forecasters. It’s now pretty difficult to give an innacurate one!

We actually had snow in Johnsonville on the weekend – right in the suburbs, not just on the hills. If there was worldwide hysteria about global cooling, this would be all over the news.

Nah, Global Warming or Global Cooling just not fuzzy enough.
Climate change is a superb catchall. Because what we all know is that the Climate Changes all the time and all over the World.
Best Stealth Tax Strategy that The Governments of the World have conspired to stick us with.
Not sure that the original brand was going to be totally convincing.
And now we have an ice age on the way. We should tax ice cream, ice, and anything that doesn’t emit CO2!
