David Benson-Pope unveils his campaign billboard

September 25th, 2008 at 3:14 pm by David Farrar

I’ve been leaked an exclusive copy of the campaign billboard for David Benson-Pope for Dunedin South.

He does have a point. Helen has let Winston away with lies to the media, lies to her, lies to the public, lies to the Privileges Committee and he is still there with all his baubles. While DBP got chopped down for far far less – not only losing his Ministerial baubles but also deselected.

Once upon a time I would have said Benson-Pope would have no chance ofkeeping his seat as an Independent. But I am hearing there is real anger at ths disparity of treatment between Peters and Benson-Pope. It will be interesting to see how many activists stay with Curran and how many leave with Benson-Pope – if he stands.

He still deserved his sacking though, flaky moral relativity is the standard lefty fallback option. There’s no need for you to defend him David.

He fibbed more than once – by denying the tennis ball event and claiming that his conduct as a teacher had never been a cause for complaint. But what I want to know is what are his policies? Does he plan to bring back whipping?

So what “fib” is Benson-Pope actually owning up to: his Panty-Slut-Boy activities?

Key, not Keys. If people can’t get that right, they shouldn’t even have a vote.

DBP is another one who would have benefitted from telling the truth early and often. The public like it and are quite forgiving. It’s all the blinking and twitching and shiftiness that turns them off.

    Metcalf.

Does he plan to bring back whipping?

Only if he can wear leather gear with bared buttocks.

Wasn’t he part of a SM group a few years ago? His performance as a teacher would tend to confirm it.

I just laugh and laugh inside everytime I see the word Trust.
    God I’m fit to burst.
Has anyone thought to send Helen and Michael a dictionary?
    it’s so brazen it’s obsene.
I wonder what those police officers who were prosecuted for speeding for Helen are thinking every time they see the word Trust in the media?

From the info on both DBP and Curran IMHO its a case of which is the lesser evil

Both appear to be of very questionable character

Mind you what else do you expect from Socalists

All of them have had an ethical and moral bypass

The decision for Dunedin South voters.

First we have David Benson-Pope – now should that be a reference to campaign billboard or camp pain billboard?(scroll down to THE SECRET LIFE OF THE MINISTER FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT)

Then we have Claire Curran. Her paper “Language Matters: Setting agendas – taking charge of the debate” was gratefully received by the Labour Party’s Southland Regional Conference in May 2006. You can find a copy here.

Or they could vote for someone else.

I think this billboard is too negative.

Better to emphasise some of his more positive attributes, like…how many clothes-pegs he can clip onto his todger. (Apparently he holds the Southern Kinx record at 17).

If Dunedin DOES vote this guy back in to Parliament, they’ve asked for it, they’ll never hear the last of the “Dunedinite” jokes involving kinky perversions and orgying and the like…….

What about a “Dunedin”/Benson-Pope version of that joke “what’s the difference between “exotic” and “kinky”"?

    Any triers?

Labour’s thinking on this election is hilarious. It’s either: vote for me, I’m only slighty dishonest.

    or

vote for us, we’re proven to be completely corrupt. John Key might not be completely honest, but we have no proof.

the whole concept of voting for the lesser of two evils (or, weevils, as the case may be…) has passed their superior academic minds right by. hahaha

I guess there is only the sympathy vote left… oh shit, that’s what DBP’s vote is… a sympathy vote! hahaha Oh, vote for me, I was lying and got fired but Winnie lied several times and remained unpunished. hahaha

Jesus, you just know that the runny nosed taddle tale kid back in J2 was the one to grow up into a Labour MP. haha
