If we cannot talk about what candidate we want to win can we at least talk about those who we do NOT want to win?

Actually today will end up being a watershed day in race relations for this country, today we will find out if NZ has a future that will be one of unity and coming together or a future where race and racism dominates.

Today is a day where the painfully politically correct and those suffering from guilty white syndrome may be forced to accept that it is not just the white “mofo’s” who are racist.

And since we still have to put up with jokes about how stupid Dan Quayle was it’s probably worthwhile sending this piece around the traps, since you can bet the MSM won’t:

“First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”

As we all know, SSG Sal Giunta, of the 173rd Airborne, was the first living recipient (2011) of the MOH who fought in Iraq/Afganistan. SFC Jared Monti, 10th Mountain Division, was KIA in Afghanistan in 2006. He was posthumously awarded the MOH by Obama in 2009.

How does the Commander-in-Chief mix these heroes up? He put that medal around Giunta’s neck and he stood with Monti’s parents as they grieved.

How? Because other people are just shimmering avatars in his universe, that’s how. Useful in the moment.

I’m beginning to agree with that leftie who said that “Obama is awesome”: stupidity such as this is indeed awesome.

It is a drug for the poor, and its effects are horrific. It was given its reptilian name because its poisonous ingredients quickly turn the skin scaly. Worse follows. Oleg and Sasha have not been using for long, but Oleg has rotting sores on the back of his neck.

“If you miss the vein, that’s an abscess straight away,” says Sasha. One of their friends, in a neighbouring apartment block, is further down the line. “She won’t go to hospital, she just keeps injecting. Her flesh is falling off and she can hardly move any more,” says Sasha.

Photographs of late-stage krokodil addicts are disturbing in the extreme. Flesh goes grey and peels away to leave bones exposed. People literally rot to death

This sounds like typical bureaucrats getting all carried away with their authoriti.

I wonder what the specific instances were and what was the final straw. Hopefully some journo like Fran will tell us very soon.

Mahon told the Herald from Beijing: “The board had no option but to resign because it had become clear to us all that we were an unwanted programme by NZTE China, that the NZTE team in China had undermined our work for New Zealand companies because they were reluctant to engage in a full partnership.

“So without trust and respect there was no point in continuing.”

Asked how the board felt undermined, Mahon said: “In order to work wholly with New Zealand companies, we have always needed full information, full transparency and this was not always made available to us by NZTE.”

There had been parallel discussions and projects in key sectors that the board had been asked to help companies with – such as wine.

“And because of this lack of transparency and communication, it caused, at times, embarrassment in respect of the companies and unnecessary duplication of work.”

The women living there in the knowledge of what these criminals did deserve to be thrown in jail too.

But the problem is these gunmen will get a tiny sentence themselves, after not paying the money back, so it’s hard to say the aiders and abettors can be locked up for very long.

This terrorisation of individuals causes immense distress for the victims which can last for years and years. It’s the type of action that shows you that these assholes don’t care a jot for the couple they robbed. It tells us that they will never affect society in a positive way. They really deserve a good 20 years non-parole-period. The women who helped deserve at least 5 in the slammer. I don’t care about the cost – I’d rather pay for their jail time than their dole, their crimes and their future court cases.

    ———————————————————————————————-

With Google that you can google everything, I’m surprised that journalists, bloggers & commentators don’t fuckn’ seem to just Google. I have found a few and here is one that supported Alasdair Thompson comment.

The following paper was originally appeared in American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, 1(1): 183–218.

    Abstract
    ======

In most Western countries illness-related absenteeism is higher among female workers than among male workers. Using the personnel dataset of a large Italian bank, we show that the probability of an absence due to illness increases for females, relative to males, approximately 28 days after a previous illness. This difference disappears for workers age 45 or older. We interpret this as evidence that the menstrual cycle raises female absenteeism. Absences with a 28-day cycle explain a significant fraction of the male-female absenteeism gap. To investigate the effect of absenteeism on earnings, we use a simple model in which employers cannot directly observe workers’ productivity, and therefore use observable characteristics – including absenteeism – to identify productive workers. Since men are absent from work because of health and shirking reasons, while women face an additional exogenous source of health shocks due to menstruation, the signal extraction based on absenteeism is more informative about shirking for males than for females. Consistent with the predictions of the model, we find that the relationship between earnings (or worker quality) and absenteeism is more negative for males than for females. Furthermore, this difference declines with seniority, as employers learn more about their workers’ true productivity. Finally, we calculate the earnings cost for women associated with menstruation. We find that higher absenteeism induced by the 28-day cycle explains 11.8 percent of the earnings gender differential.

Can someone send the paper above to fuckn politicians (and Govt ministers) who made uninformed comments in that TV3′s interview. Send the link to Mai Chen as well. She made herself look like an idiot with her comment. She is a brilliant lawyer, but she has no knowledge (zilch) in statistical/economic studies. Rachel Morton should have done what a journalists should have done. I would ring up some economists and fact check if indeed what Alasdair Thompson said has some truth to it. If I was her, I would check with 2 fine University of Canterbury economists first, such as Dr. Paul Walker & Dr. Eric Crampton.

Some commentators here and on the public media are jumping up & down for the reason of PC rather than face the facts.

Yes, the report leaves little doubt that Krokodil has terrible side effects & is a tragedy for those who choose to be involved with it. My point is that one of the ingredients is a painkiller containing codeine which is very effective for those of us with joint injuries. Codeine as mikenmild stated is only available under a doctors prescription & I have no argument with that. I think there are painkillers containing small amounts of codeine mixed with paracetamol sold as a pharmacy only medicine. The paracetamol discourages excessive use as large doses terminate liver function making the product unattractive to those seeking a high or feeding an addiction.

The people who “cook” cold remedies & painkillers are trying to extract the drugs they want from the pharmaceutical mix.

To this end John Key’s government, assisted greatly by his half wit scientific adviser Peter Gluckman of global warming fame, banned all painkillers containing even small amounts of Dextropropoxyphene commonly known as methadone. This was about the same time as we were all condemned to go back to suffering the full effects of winter colds so that the ingredients used to produce “P” were imported in bulk from China & Iran became 100% instead of 98%.

Given this track record I’m sure that you will forgive me my scepticism that the “ban it” brigade won’t prevail.

  36. Yvette (2,428) Says:

Reid – Yvette what is the deal with Slut Walk? What is the point they are making?

In January, a Toronto police officer told a group of university students that women should avoid dressing like “sluts” to avoid being raped. He later apologised.
The New Zealand “SlutWalks” are planned for today with organisers telling the Sunday Star-Times they are rallying “to place the blame for sexual assault where it belongs: on the perpetrators”.
“We are promoting the idea that women should be able to dress how they like without having to wonder if they will be blamed if they are attacked.”

    – stuff.co.nz

It seems the thinking is that no matter how provocatively a woman may dress, that can never be an excuse for any misfortune that may befall her.
The question, “at what point does Slut Walk become Boobs on Bikes” was just to suggest either the Slut Walk organisers or Steve Crowe are missing something.

In fact, can a woman dress provocatively, since it is apparently the duty of men to ignore such provocation. So can it exist?

    Great news for today –

Geert Wilders cleared of all charges against him.
A great day for freedom of speech in the West (and freedom in general).

The judges in the Court of Amsterdam delivered their verdict Thursday morning in the heresy trial of Dutch Freedom Party politician Geert Wilders. Wilders has been found not guilty of all charges of inciting hatred against Muslims. The judge, Marcel van Oosten, and the other Dutch authorities ended up doing the right thing, no matter how cowardly and compromised they may have been. They must have known how history would view them if Wilders had been found guilty: as troglodytes who ushered in the return of the Dark Ages.
When do the Islamic supremacists go on trial for inciting hatred against non-Muslims?

“I am delighted with this ruling,” Wilders said. “It is a victory, not only for me but for all the Dutch people. Today is a victory for freedom of speech. The Dutch are still allowed to speak critically about islam, and resistance against islamisation is not a crime. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak.”

No I’m saying part of being a self-respecting woman is not acting like a slut, unless it’s just pretend and you’re just having a bit of fun.

It’s not an expression of your freedom to be a modern woman, is what I’m saying. Rather it’s an expression of your idiocy in that you are denying part of your own being for if all women were supposed to just fuck everyone that came along, what pray tell would have happened to the gene pool a long long time ago?

Of course I’m guessing here since I’m not actually a woman but it seems to me that’s a reasonable position to adopt vis-a-vis the ‘should a woman be a slut: yes or no’ question…

I would not dream of shagging some slapper….even if she had a HOT body, even if she had HUGE tits….no……..not me…….sigh.

    @ reid / nasska

In Australia they seemed to have reached a reasonable solution as regards pseudoephedrine – you simply had to show some ID and have your name added to a register, accessible to pharmacists and health authorities. If you were buying enough to suggest you had more than one nose, you’re flagged. At best you can’t buy any; at worst the cops are waiting for you at your next pharmacy. Is that not the case in NZ?

reid’s link on “krokodil” just goes to show that an addict will do anything to feed their addiction. Banning pharmaceuticals that are useful and even vital to the rest of us is a form of collective punishment that offends against human rights and, worst of all, does nothing to solve the problem it ostensibly sets out to fix. We’re just meant to think “hell this flu has been with me for a month… that nice Mr Key sure is tough on illicit drugs, or I’d have been better a fortnight ago!”

Sadly, that’s exactly what enough dimwitted voters do think to make them numerically a useful sub-group.

Bottom line is, as with so many other restrictions on our freedoms, we’re suffering not because of the tiny cohort at which the law is ostensibly aimed, nor even really because of the politicians (who, after all, will do anything for power), but because of the gullibility of our fellow citizens.

On a different topic, I can’t let this go by without comment:

A former undercover police officer has confessed his lies in court more than 30 years ago may have sent 150 people wrongfully to prison…

In his confession, he said he could not guess the number of people who were sent to prison because of his lies because he stopped counting arrests at 150, half-way through his three-year undercover stint. He lied to the courts and juries to get convictions in every case, he said.

For NZ’s jails to contain a large number of people who shouldn’t be there doesn’t require widespread police corruption or even a significant number to be corrupt. Just one or two can – and do – cause hundreds of miscarriages of justice.

‘Act are pretty much history’ – wishful thinking I would say. The role of activist minority parties is not to try for broad appeal but to seek election on a policy that will appeal to a niche group; a policy that than can be carried through to influence lawmaking. Experience with MMP has shown that minority parties have considerable influence (relative to their following ), much to the dismay of many. Work behind the scenes; select committees etc. is where they can be most active. ACT has a very important role as right wing party needed to neutralize the natural tendency for Kiwis lemmings to drown in a socialist swamp.

I think mm you underestimate the size of the space opened up by Key’s move to become really popular. This has disenchanted a sizeable proportion of National’s base. Key’s strategy is to pursue the floaters and he’s doing that with our money which he shouldn’t be doing since he’s governing the whole country and not just the floaters. This is precisely what Hulun did except her church was broader in every way – she saw fit to cater to lots more mendicant groups than Key ever has but still, they both do it.

Thus opening a sizeable flanking opportunity for a well articulated common-sense, focused campaign and with Ansell involved one assumes it will indeed be that.

So I’m quite hopeful. Look I float between ACT and National as needs require each election. Not because I agree with everything but because on balance they’re not quite as mental as everyone else is. But look at Labour and which policy set for example will fix our economic morass? He is “not frightening the horses” but he doesn’t seem to realise you can both respond to the crisis with force and alacrity while at the same time also not frighten the horses. This is a huge failing and since he’s bright enough to know it I’m currently putting it down to Key’s immense ego over-riding his sense of the gravitas and responsibility and discharge of trust which his high office bestows upon indeed requires of, he.

So he finally went out and found himself a comely sheep, brought her back to his room, shampooed her and then tied ribbons in her hair. After a bottle of champagne, he lured the sheep into his bedchamber and released his pent-up frustrations. Afterward, he escorted his four-legged lover to the saloon for a drink. As the correspondent and his wooly mate entered, a hush fell over the patrons and the anxious couple became the object of many stares. ‘You goddamn bunch of hypocrites!’ the reporter yelled. ‘You’ve been shagging sheep for years, but when I do it you look at me like I’m some sort of crazy pervert!’ One cowboy in the back of the crowd spoke up, ‘Yeah, but that’s the sheriff’s gal!’

    MORAL DILEMMA

This test will only take one minute and only has one question, but it’s a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line.

    THE SITUATION:

You are in Kaitaia. There is chaos all around you caused by a cyclone, with severe flooding.. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are a photo-journalist working for a major newspaper, and you’re caught in the middle of this epic disaster.

The situation is nearly hopeless. You’re trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing into the water. Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

    THE TEST:

Suddenly, you see a man in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer… Somehow, the man looks familiar… You suddenly realize who it is. It’s Hone Harawera. You notice that the raging waters are about to take him under forever.

    You have two options:

    1. You can save his life; or
    2. You can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the country’s most despised men!

    THE QUESTION:

Here’s the question, and please give an honest answer…

Would you select high contrast colour film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white ?

Prwotesters hurled tampons at the Emplwoyers and Manufacturwers’ Association headquarters in Aucklwand today in a passionate march against its boss.

    [Oh the humanity]

Its Northern chief executive Alasdair Thompson is under fire for saying earlier this week that women are less productive because of their periods.

Unite Union spokesman Joe Caralan said earlier that about 40 people were planned to march from Galbraiths pub at the top of Symonds Street to the EMA offices in Khyber Pass Road.

“It’s going to be a loud and noisy picket and after all the speeches we’re going to pelt the building with 200 tampons,” says Mr Caralan.

He says unless the EMA sacks Alasdair Thompson, this will now turn into a monthly problem for the organisation.

Sperm Education – A new twist on an old joke

The newly born sperm was receiving instructions in conception from the instructor.

“As soon as you hear the siren, run for the tunnel and swim in a straight line until you get to the entrance of a damp cavern. At the end of the cavern you will find a red, sticky ball which is the egg.

Address it and say, “I’m a Sperm.” She will answer, I’m the Egg.” From that moment on you will work together to create the embryo. Do you understand?”

The sperm nodded affirmatively and the instructor said, “Then, good luck!”

Two days later, the sperm is taking a nap when he hears the siren. He wakes up immediately and runs to the tunnel.

A multitude of sperm swim behind him. He knows he has to arrive first. When he nears the entrance to the cavern, he looks back and sees that he is far ahead of the other sperm.

He is able to swim at a slower pace but does approach
    the red, sticky ball.

When, at last, he reaches the red, sticky ball, he smiles and says, “Hi, I’m a sperm.”
