Climate scientists say the planet has been building up temperatures at the rate of four Hiroshima bombs of heat every second.

It’s believed Hurricane Katrina and superstorm Sandy are just two examples of how extreme weather will intensify.

Speaking at Australia’s Climate Action Summit in Sydney today, University of Queensland’s John Cook says humans are now emitting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than we’ve done at any other time in history.

A New Zealand climate scientist said yesterday storms like we’ve just had will happen every few decades but could be intensified a bit by warming.

A climate scientist says the extreme weather gripping New Zealand is probably a twice in a lifetime event.

Dr Renwick said the polar blast has been caused by fluctuations in wind currents around Antarctica and a similar event is unlikely to occur again for several decades.

He said climate change means powerful storms would become more common in future, but even in 100 years’ time this week’s weather would be considered particularly bad.

Conservatism can be broadly categorised in three areas:

1. Fiscal conservatism. A belief in personal responsibility for finances. Scaling back taxation to allow greater control over individual incomes. Conservative thinking promotes cutbacks in public spending enabling tax breaks to be given to those that are earning. Also belief in helping those out of work back into self sufficiency.

2. Social conservatism. Contrary to the fiscal conservatism, social conservatives believe in placing restrictions on personal freedoms, resulting in more government involvement into the daily lives of individuals. This is also known as neo-conservative.

3. Religious conservatism….The fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.

Any ideas about which group(s) our local conservative fruit loops belong to?

This morning, from a cave somewhere in Pakistan, Taliban Minister of Immigration, Mohammed Omar warned Australia that if military action against Iraq & Afghanistan continues, Taliban authorities will cut

off Australia’s supply of Cab Drivers and if this action does not yield sufficient results, Telstra Customer Service Reps will be next, followed by Centrelink Officers, Telemarketers, and finally, Queensland Doctors.

Chuck the Rooster

A FARMER DECIDED HE WANTED TO GO TO TOWN AND SEE A MOVIE.

THE TICKET AGENT ASKED, “SIR, WHAT’S THAT ON YOUR SHOULDER?”

THE OLD FARMER SAID,
“THAT’S MY PET ROOSTER CHUCK. WHEREVER I GO, CHUCK GOES.”

“I’M SORRY SIR,” SAID THE TICKET AGENT.
“WE CAN’T ALLOW ANIMALS IN THE THEATER.”

THE OLD FARMER WENT AROUND THE CORNER AND STUFFED CHUCK DOWN HIS OVERALLS. THEN HE RETURNED TO THE BOOTH, BOUGHT A TICKET, AND ENTERED THE THEATER.

HE SAT DOWN NEXT TO TWO OLD WIDOWS NAMED MILDRED AND MARGE.

THE MOVIE STARTED AND THE ROOSTER BEGAN TO SQUIRM. . . THE OLD FARMER
UNBUTTONED HIS FLY SO CHUCK COULD STICK HIS HEAD OUT AND WATCH THE MOVIE.

“MARGE,” WHISPERED MILDRED.

“WHAT?” SAID MARGE.

“I THINK THE GUY NEXT TO ME IS A PERVERT.”

“WHAT MAKES YOU THINK SO?” ASKED MARGE?

“HE UNDID HIS PANTS AND HE HAS HIS THING OUT”, WHISPERED MILDRED.

“WELL, DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT”, SAID MARGE.. “AT OUR AGE WE’VE SEEN ‘EM ALL”

“I THOUGHT SO TOO”, SAID MILDRED,

“BUT THIS ONE’S EATIN’ MY POPCORN!”

Ibn Saud ben Alekh, a respectable and dignified merchant,
was attending a camel auction in the main square when he
was overcome by the most terrible intestinal cramps.

and beard long and gray. He was confident that no one
would recognize him and link him to that mortifying moment.

So he returned to the town and headed straight for the
main square, where he immediately noticed that the
mosque now boasted a spectacular turquoise and
gold-leaf facade. Turning to the passerby, he
commented on the magnificent mural.
“Peace to you, my son,” greeted the old man,
“can you tell me when it was completed?”

“Let me think,” replied the man. “Yes, that
would be about seven years, five months
after Ibn Saud ben Alekh cut that big fart
in the square.”

No you did not find the source. You found it quoted on another site. Of course you know that, but you are distracting from the comment due to your personal bias. If you had anything substantial to say you would have said it. Maybe you think some people are actually preferred by god ? In which case just have the balls to say that. Personally I regard all religions as equally worthless and damaging.
