Seems like Martyn Bradbury is back on the Dotcom payroll. Perhaps he’s giving Dotcom strategic advice on all his legal, political, financial, public relations and domestic problems!

But more seriously, the trend of protesting outside MP’s homes seems to be growing. There are plenty of opportunities to protest against MP’s without intruding on their family time, and it’s something that should be condemned, regardless of which party the MP in question represents. They are entitled to some privacy with their families.

I have been threatened with legal action several times by Winston Peters, I once told his lawyer that I’d welcome the chance to explain just how Winston Peters won the Hunua by-election and he could tell Winston Peters that and see if he wants to continue the action. The man is a bully, a coward and yes he is evil.

The problem for Cun*liffe is that 70% of those polled are politically uneducated, and cannot understand why the non-policies advocated by Cun*liffe and his idiotic war room are not good for New Zealand….. and that the recent budget was a travesty.

Surely the tax-evader McCarten will demand that Cun*liffe support his education union lackeys, and their demand that a Labour/Green government promise to introduce compulsory political re-education programmes for all New Zealand voters. 🙂

They are probably right.
A drone to take out these four would have likely have messed up John Key’s home a little bit too. 🙁

I’m surprised ACT haven’t taken a position on KDC.

Would have thought the “individual rights” aspect of KDC’s situation would have been just the kind of thing they would care about.

I guess the party of principle slogan only applies up to a point.

If KDC is looking for some political support in his fight against the John Key Barack Obama coalition, he really doesn’t have that many options.

KDC needs alliances that will help him push back against the National Party’s politiciisation of his case, and to win those alliances he has to pay his dues.

Truth is if Helen Clark was doing this to KDC, he would probably have an ally in ACT and most of the people here who oppose him as a result of their regard for John Key would instead be on KDC’s side.

Was away over weekend and at wedding talked with a group of 20ish men who, all but one, were labourers and farm hands,some voting for the first time,none would admit they would vote for Labour.
All felt they were paying to much tax,felt they were sidelined for young Maori at school and felt they were treated poorly by the system.
All but one, said as long as Labour pushed there agenda before the country they wont vote labour.About 6 of the 8 said if Labour GREENS got in they would go for their OE as soon as possible.
These is our taxpaying future.

A protest outside JK’s (or any other MP’s home for that matter) will achieve the effect of proving to decent people that the protesters are utter lowlife wankers.

Problem is these vermin see themselves as radicals pushing for “change” and as such any social activism is justifiable for “the greater good”.

Will the MSM now pitch in and condemn? I’m not holding my breath.

Recently we had nearly all our “leading journalists” condemn the old boy in LA telling his bit of stuff not to associate with certain folk…….. I think they need to bring their concern closer to home …….but it won’t happen.

Meanwhile reasonable people will be able to make their own minds up, but the media exposure of this behaviour will be such that we the sheeple will be left largely in ignorance of what’s going on outside our elected representatives homes.

The media is biased and compliant to the leftist agenda.

Planning is under way to slash $2.8 billion of new spending at Auckland Council to control soaring debt and rates while pushing ahead with the $2.86 billion City Rail Link.
Roads, storm water, sewer, parks, libraries and other important infrastructure will have their budgets slashed. The fiscal shake-up will come at a cost to core council services, such as new libraries, swimming pools and playing fields, which face being pushed back or canned altogether. An early start to electrification of rail to Pukekohe now appears highly unlikely and bus and ferry improvements could take a back seat to the rail link.

$2.8 billion – quite a price to pay for Len Brown not being able to keep it in his pants.
Pity he wasn’t forced to stand down immediately he was found out.
Now he intends to screw all of Auckland.

Extract from an interesting piece on youth unemployment and youth rates by David Chaston in Todays Top 10 over at Interest.co.nz:

“When they were first removed in April 2008, unemployment by 15-19 year olds skyrocketed. The GFC no doubt compounded the problem, but it proved to be a huge own-goal. Since youth rates were reintroduced in May 2013, we have seen a relatively quick market response. Youth unemployment is now back to levels last seen in 2009 when they were rising frighteningly fast. They now seem to be falling quite quickly, but for almost eight years there has been considerable damage wrecked.”

Just another example of how lefties are harmful to the very people they claim to help.

The rest are spread among Labour, Greens, NZ1 and 1 conservative voter. Plus 2 Internet Party and Maori (only 2 of which will vote Maori Party).

All Students (university) were annoyed with the Budget, which had nothing particular for them in it. They were most pissed at the govt decision to take funding from certain tertiary education areas and put it into only those areas which were of financial benefit to the current governments agenda. They were peeved off that the govt. made it sound like they were putting extra money in, when in fact they were just taking it from other areas of tertiary study, and pointed out that its fine if a student is strong in Maths and science, but what about the rest of those (approx. 50%) that aren’t? Are they now meant to have no aspirations above working for Macdonalds?

They actually pay for what they use and have responsibilities.
One was only going to stay because his GF was a trainee nurse and she had to finish her studies if LAB/GREEN got in.
Teachers and students aren’t the real world,they have simply no idea that all you have is what you can earn,produce.
Not borrow interest free and think about living life in the utopia that is LALA land.

You simply don’t get it, and that’s the real issue facing Labour,it’s about surviving and living life,not ideology.

Not desperation at all, Judith. Just common sense.

When you have 16 years olds competing with 30+ year olds for the same jobs, the 16 year olds will lose out almost every time because they have fewer life skills, no experience and are less reliable. Therefore, they are less productive. That is why 16 year olds need to sell their labour more cheaply, if they want to get a job. Better still, they should remain at school or go into a training scheme.

I agree it is not a good idea to protest outside a politician’s house, but people should wake up and recognise that we’re dealing with Marxists/ Leninists here and that is the kind of strategy they have always employed. Violence and hate is in their psyche.

However KDC is merely looking for political allies to help him in pushing back against the political forces mustered against him by National and its supporters like Cameron Slater.

I say you can’t blame him for not wanting to go to the US to face a kangaroo court and you can’t blame him for doing all he can to avoid it. How many of those criticising KDC here on Kiwiblog would do differently if they were in his position?

Don’t forget, if KDC has any real political home it is probably with National. He did give money to John Banks and would probably be supporting National except he feels they (especially Banks and John Key) have betrayed him.

As for ACT, they won’t help him because they’re ideologically bound up over the mythical concept of “intellectual property rights”. These are a bit like the horns on unicorns. The horns don’t exist because there is no such thing as unicorns.

Property rights apply to material things, not concepts. (Leaving aside the more important issue of using NZ’s security services to try and enforce unworkable laws relating to such concepts. A complete abuse of govt. and a complete distortion of what that the GCSB was set up for)

All that said, the real problem here is the sickening fawning over John Key. By duping people with his “good bloke” persona he’s taken the National Party and NZ far into the left wing swamp. Far further than any National party or Labour Party has ever taken the country before.

John Key is the worst National Party leader ever and he’s taken the country far further left than its ever been. And we have people on here who identify as right wingers kissing his arse at every opportunity.

Key has seduced so many people into left wing bullshit. He is a disgrace as a Nats leader, and a tragedy as far as NZ’s political history goes.

I simply do get it sunshine! I’m 56, I’ve milked cows, raised calves, cut gorse and scrubbed out enough shitty sheds to know exactly what is involved in running a farm. My family’s trust owns over 2000 acres of some of the best farming land in this country – so please don’t be so condescending to think that you know it all about someone just because they don’t share the same opinion as you!

I may tutor uni students now, but I have worked since I was 11 years of age (a paper round) so don’t friggen tell me I don’t know what its like to earn and produce, or have mortgages etc. I’ve raised five kids, run my own businesses as well as reaching a high level of academic qualification.

So sunshine – tell me, what’s your ‘life’ experience that allows you to think you know it all about everyone and what students who are 20 to 49 years of age might have experienced or not?

Traumatic memories that haunt people with post-traumatic stress disorder might be eased by a pill from Novartis now used to treat multiple sclerosis, a study of mice suggests.

Mice given Novartis’ Gilenya were faster at getting rid of acquired-fear memories, according to a study published in the journal Nature Neuroscience.

The thought-erasing action of the medicine was linked to a newly discovered mechanism unrelated to its immune-suppressing properties that treat MS, researchers said.

Gilenya, also known as fingolimod, is the first oral drug approved for MS, though its beneficial effects in the central nervous system aren’t well understood, the researchers said.

The simple fact is KDC is a threat to the spy technology agenda (GCSB) therefore the govt, courts, police will move to the utmost of their power with extreme prejudice to rid this man before he can ingrain himself and become a very wealthy and very substantial thorn in govts side including labours. Because the Nat/Lab coalition will never remove GCSB spying on NZ citizens.

I agree with your sentiments.
As I am constantly saying, I am appalled at the level current politics have dropped to in this country. To see a PM perform like a petulant child, smary and spiteful is a very sad look. Key almost never answers any question presented to him in the house with a fair and honest answer, instead all he can do is provide smart-arsed “you did this” answers – which may be funny to watch but are a shocking representation of what a leader should be.

He has reduced this country to a mess with his behaviour and standards, and in doing so has completely blurred the lines between left and right, leaving the electorate no choice but to vote on personalities not substance. Great if you’re picking someone for an Oscar but of F all use to the nation.

Jesus Judith, you’re probably coaching “media studies” students and you (and they) want the taxpayer to stump up extra money for their indulgence in gaining a useless qualification. Students are always greedy and want more “free stuff”, they love seeing politicians act magnanimous with other peoples money. Most of them probably wouldn’t tell you honestly how they would vote anyway as if they give the “wrong” answer they probably fear they would get disadvantaged in some way.

And sure, your “family trust” owns plenty and you have “scrubbed out filthy sheds”, whoopidy do, we’re so impressed, sunshine.

And just so you know, questions asked in the house are not intended to gain “a fair and honest answer”, any politician giving such would of course then get totally eviscerated by the media in a series of “gotchas” for doing something like that. You’re suffering the typical “golden age” syndrome, when was politics anything other than a silly dirty game, but one with real consequences especially for those without the power to influence same. The only real solution is to keep politics out of as much of life as is feasible, keep the crims and cons restricted as to what they can stuff up.

A judge has ordered a senior TV3 executive to appear in court after ACT MP John Banks was filmed apparently eating something pulled from his ear.

Justice Edwin Wylie said today that TV3 last week broadcast a clip of Banks sitting in the High Court in Auckland. Banks appeared to pull something from his ear, look at it and eat it.

The judge said he was “considering suspending or revoking TV3’s right to film these proceedings” and ordered the TV3 “editor-in-chief” to appear in court at 2.15pm.

Justice Wylie said he wanted to know when the footage was shot and whether anyone had provided the material to an entity that could put it up on social media.

Banks, the Epsom MP and former leader of the ACT Party, is on trial for “transmitting a return of electoral expenses knowing that it is false in a material particular”.

The charge relates to three entries in the electoral returns for his failed 2010 Auckland Super City mayoral campaign.

The donations were recorded as anonymous, but the Crown says Banks knew two donations of $25,000 were from Kim Dotcom and one of $15,000 was from SkyCity.

The trial continues today with evidence from SkyCity chief executive Nigel Morrison.

Viking2: FWIW I cannot see my way to supporting Banks in this case…especially given that he claims he can’t remember flying to the Dotcom mansion in a black helicopter and making a speech (of which there is a video record) at Dotcom’s hooley…

However…The Judge is perfectly correct. The New Zealand judiciary is more lenient with the media than the Brits, who don’t allow filming in Court at all…but they are determined not to become like the US where it is difficult to distinguish between real cases and some TV show…

The issue is not recording Banks doing something faintly disgusting, but rather TV3 ignoring what will have been strict rules made by the Judge as to what they can and cannot film…I hope he revokes their permission to film…

What topic at ‘University’ requires a ‘tutor’ to poll students as to their political preferences in detail. I can remember being asked to place myself on a continuum regarding political leanings but nothing so intrusive and indoctrinating as ‘Judith’ suggests.

It is beyond belief that a class of students should volunteer, what is usually a private matter to a ‘tutor’ with out prompting. Someone should complain that such ‘teaching’ is ultra vires!!!

Nearly 30 years ago the French news media spoke about how Dominque Prieur had been stuck in a prison on an island 1000 kilometres south of Auckland.
Okay, we all know it was the Paparua Women’s Prison. On an island known as the South Island.
Well today National Socialist Radio report that Sky City handed John Banks a cheque for $15,000.
Turns out that what really happened was that “Sky City Management handed John Banks a sealed envelope. Inside the sealed envelope was a cheque for $15,000. Banksie handed the sealed envelope to his campaign treasurer.
A gentleman bought half a $106 item with me. Next week he handed me an envelope with the $53 in it. As he was a gentleman it would have been rude for me to open the envelope in front of him and count the cash. I just pocketed it.
Similarly, it would have been rude of John Banks to open the sealed envelope in front of Sky City management and examine the contents in every detail.
The insidious bias on that radio station is relentless.

Actually for research I would imagine that kittens would do as well, especially with such a small known sample, what was the sample? Actually, don’t answer that as you gaining information to disseminate is not part of the job description I imagine. Research should also permit anonymity and rights of refusal of participation.

Assistance as regards to what? Research is process/methodology focussed by my understanding, you say political science determined the subject, I say indoctrination by ‘tutors’ and/or lecturers that should be apolitical is necessary. I can not imagine you ‘tutoring’ in a partisan fashion, you being so ‘passionate’ in your beliefs. One would hope that your ‘tutoring’ style is different to the persona that you portray here. Students do not have much if any choice of tutor.

You just loved my kitten story didn’t you from TM, you have made reference a couple of times. I still think it was abuse of police powers to come and uplift a stray 4 week old moggy kitten that I had rescued, because I refused to return it on the say so of someone who had no proof of previous ownership and was clearly a neglectful owner, if it was the same kitten. The flatmate of said ‘owner’ was related to the policeman, might one add. Poor little thing.

Regarding the rest of your implied burble – the students were instructed to submit a research report based on a mix of quantitative and qualitative data collected from a project of their own design. There was no indoctrination by tutors or anyone else regarding the topic/s. The project undertaken was entirely of their own choice, and they, of course, received marks based on whether they adhered to the remit which was regarding the design of the project, not the results of their surveys or the implications of such. The topic of the research was determined by their particular discipline and their personal interests.

Nice of you to go over some of the facets of research – I’m not sure why you would bother as my statement regarding the findings neither identified the participants/researcher or the institution involved. If you are trying to shit stir – you’ve failed – as usual.

I am trying to imagine a tutors job description that permits a student’s findings to be used off campus or to try and make a point on a blog. Ultra vires!!!

Lack of spending on Maori slated.

The Auckland Council has money for the Parnell cathedral and Lopdell House in Titirangi but no money to upgrade marae, says Independent Maori Statutory Board member John Tamihere.

His comments came during a debate on a report which found the council had made a strong commitment to lift the lot of Maori but spent very little money on doing so.

The finance and performance committee last week accepted the report prepared by KPMG for the Independent Maori Statutory Board, which has been frustrated at the lack of financial support by the council for Maori outcomes.

The report said there had been “very low levels of expenditure on Maori outcomes” over an 18-month period.

Mr Tamihere criticised the “tyranny of the majority around the council table” for funding projects like Parnell cathedral while ignoring spending on marae.

Board chairman David Taipari added community housing on Maori land and developing a significant annual Maori event in Auckland to the list of shortfalls.

Tonight I hard the PM in his best mnoey mans voice telling us the the Govt. (yeh the Govt.) was investing x millions in this project or that. Notably drug rehab and the police dept. to fund their lavish travesties chasing dope growers.

Please could someone tell Mr Key the meaning of investing. Clearly he doesn’t know the difference between investing, spending and wasting money.
No wonder the taxpayer is screwed.

Actually David, I do not think Judith’s citing students work (unattributed) is inside the powers of a ‘tutor’ of an institution on a ‘public’ blog, there is no methodology at all, more likely just her opinion, supposing that the position is even held…’is beyond the legal power or authority of a person, institution or legislation, and therefore invalid. Butterworths NZ Law Dictionary Sixth Edition 2005. So I disagree that it is not a correct use of the term.

Quite so and now his lady has joined him in the forgetful stakes. The facial expressions and body language of both in Court are interesting. He looks like he already knows he is off to the can and she looks about as happy as a pork pie in a synagogue.
Rather telling I think. Banks has been a bully forever (like so many little people.) His time on radio was nothing else but bullying to callers.

Doesn’t appear from what I’ve seen that TV3 broke any rules other than not being nice, (like Banks used to be on Air.), but the Judge banned them anyway, even after they groveled on their bellies and apologized for being nasty.

I see also that JB is holding him up which surprises me a little and now some wanna be Nat. MP has put his hand up in an attempt to slander DC. Wonder why he bothers because the case is about the deed not about what someone else said at a barbecue. Either he knew, which seems very apparent to most people, or he didn’t according to him when he signed the doco’s.
Clearly he did or he would be smiling and laughing which he isn’t.

Not really sure why he wanted to keep all these secrets.
