    The other day, I pointed out that the “racist” John Ansell is married to a non-white, and one of the lefty sneerers on KB made some comment in response like “as if that is a test of whether someone is a racist or not”.
    
    So I think you said it, this time, Jazz-hands. If you have white skin, there is nothing you can do to prove you are not racist, in the eyes of the SJW’s.

        Titford is a complicated case. It is a classic tactic of the PC Left, when there is some issue afoot where some white male is the target of a shakedown of some kind, to redefine the issue in terms of whatever shortcomings can be discovered about their target.
        
        No-one is talking about the possibility of injustice done to white male owners of land legitimately purchased by them or their ancestors, “because Titford turned out to be a violent criminal anyway”. That turned out to be soooooo convenient in this case, didn’t it? Even “the Crown” is breathing a sigh of relief over getting off the hook in paying decent compensation for the land!
        
        In fact we see the left apologising for criminals all the time “because they were victims of injustice themselves in the first place, and they just couldn’t handle it”. But none of the usual SJW’s is saying that a guy losing his farm – his life’s work – and being shafted under the Treaty Industry because he is a white male and therefore deemed “in the wrong” automatically, might just have been going through a little bit of mental pressure.
        
        24 years in jail? Multiple murderers of children are often deemed by the SJW’s to be suffering from “vigilante justice” if they get a sentence this long! The whole thing does stink.

        In the case of “other contributors” it is often questionable where the cultural capital came from. But I agree that it is culture that is important, not race.
        
        One of the examples I am referring to, is the scientific achievements that occurred earlier in Islamic history, where the cultural capital concerned was actually pre-Islamic and a holdover.

        You misread what I wrote.
        
        I’m not claiming that the whites made logic and society. I’m saying that this is what the SJWs say.
        
        The SJWs say that society has been structured by the white patriarchy to be systemically favouring white males and to deliberately exclude others (females and non-whites) from full participation.
        
        ie. Even if the individuals are not racist/sexist, the whole of society is racist/sexist, therefore white males get privilege because the very machinery of society works in a way that favours them.
        
        For example, they will say that the justice system which uses an adversarial court system (ie. is inherently competitive and violent) and requires facts rather than feels (reason and logic are white male constructs) is inherently pro-male and pro-white. Thus the whole system is stacked against females and non-whites.
        
        The same for computers and programming. Some university computer science departments are now doing research to “prove” that computers are fundamentally pro-male/white and anti-female/non-whites because they use white-male logic and different genders solve problems differently. Since the logic used in computers favours white males from the chip level to the software level, it is fundamentally stacked against the way non-white-males think. The same is no doubt true of physics and how to design a bridge etc.

      But, bearing that in mind, I’d have Fortuin (who at least at the aim of uniting the ‘races’ here rather than adopting the Devoy method of antagonising most of them) on top, Powles second, and Tauroa (I agree, pdm) as the best of the three sportspeople)…

What is it with these snowflakes and their noisy children. Mrs Holy and I went out into the country for a quiet bit of lunch yesterday. Stopped at this quaint cafe, ordered our lunch and went and sat at a table in the sun. At the time. I noticed we were sitting beside an empty play area for kids. As it was not in use, it didn’t bother me.

As our meals arrived, also in came two noisy children. The mother plonked them down in this caged off play area and went to have her lunch at a table across the room. It didn’t take long for these two children to start playing, screaming and yelling. Looking around the room one could see it was annoying other patrons.

Well, I had had enough and turned around and said in a loud voice “Oi, shush” You could have heard a pin drop, as the room went dead quiet as did the children. Mrs Holy gave me a slap on my hand and said I should not have done that. I said “Why not, we don’t have to put up with poorly behaving children”

Later as the waitress took away our plates and bought us our coffees, she thanked me for what I had done. She also said she thought the parents were impressed that the children behaved themselves and sat there quietly playing.

If I could do it, why couldn’t the parents?
And don’t give me this PC crap about it not being my place to do so.

  It’s just because kids only play up when they feel they’re in a safe environment and comfortable to do so – mine have always (bar one or two occasions) saved their shitty behaviour for when they’re at home.
  
  Having a stranger reprimand them would have instantly removed that comfort factor where a request from their parents maybe wouldn’t.

    Spot on, you beat me to saying that. Many parents actually secretly arrange for a friend to “give my kids a public reprimand”, because this is so much more effective than the parents own tactics that the kids are hardened to.

  A lot of school groups come through my work place. It is beyond belief how badly behaved they are and how neither their teachers nor the parent helpers ever discipline the kids. The kids run riot and nobody cares. Unbelievable! Talk about bringing up a country of spoilt entitled brats. God help us.

        Trouble is, you’re conflating “playing and laughing” with “running amok and creating havoc”. They are NOT the same though to some kids they seem to think so.
        
        I was in a library once where some kid decided to have a paddy, screaming and carrying on, and then decided to just pull all the books he could off the shelves onto the floor. Parent (I think it was a parent), did nothing to stop him. After about 2-300 books were on the floor, some damaged, a few of us moved in and stopped him. Parent than abused us and took off out the door leaving a lot of mess to be cleaned up by someone else.
        
        That kind of “playing and laughing” OK with you Jack5 ?

  Everyone should know kids don’t obey their own mums!
  A few days ago I saw a little fella bawling his eyes out at McDonald’s with his poor mum putting on her sternest voice threatening to take him home.
  I said to him (with a cheery smile): ” what’s the matter…you’re at McDonald’s aren’t you??!!”
  Instantly stopped performing and 5 minutes later happy as Larry!
  (Admittedly the mum wasn’t white.
  A Pakeha mum would probably have glared at me…but it still would have worked.)

  Your story reminds me of an anecdote I read in the Reader’s Digest one time. It seems a mother and child were out in public somewhere and the child was playing up, and kicking up a fuss. Well, a kindly-looking little old lady leaned near the child and whispered something in his ear. After that, the child was quiet and well-behaved. The person who had sent in the letter to the Digest was intrigued and asked the old lady what she had said. She replied, “I told him – sonny, if you don’t behave, I’m going to break your arm” 😆

England’s The Spectator reports that 350 South Africans play professional rugby in Europe. With their country’s racial quota system there is little chance of them making the Springbok team.
Think, for a moment, how good the Springboks would be if their selectors had unrestricted access to all of those 350.
I wonder if it is South Africa’s racist policies that are making the All Blacks look so good.

        Yes rugby was always a minority sport in South Africa with soccer being the most popular sport.
        
        So why then does Zuma and the ANC insist on screwing up rugby? Because it is only of interest to a minority – whites.
        
        If it was no longer the centre of attention then they should have just left it alone and not interfered.
        
        Rugby is failing in South Africa for the same reason they’re failing in pretty much all specialized areas in the military as well as in engineering etc. They want quotas in the airforce and the navy and are bending over backwards to achieve them. Navigation officers without highschool maths – not even making the 30% pass mark. Moth-balled fighters because they cannot train enough black pilots to fill the quotas.

  Perhaps, but I’m not so sure how much of a difference it would make. There are plenty of NZers playing professional rugby in Europe and Japan. Largely they are ex-ABs “cashing in” and players that, while good strong players by overseas standards, are unlikely ever to make the ABs (or in some cases even to be assured a Super rugby contract). How many of that 350 were genuinely SBok material would be debatable, I think.

  Maybe. But then as South Africa’s racist policies denied the All Blacks the presence of the players like George Nepia, Jimmy Mill and Johnny Smith on a number of tours over there, one can but observe the old sporting maxim: the luck evens out! 😉
  
  Seriously though, I heard a South African commentator opining that quotas are a distraction to the real problem with South African rugby – shit administrators of all colours. Highlights the greatness of Dr Danie Craven, who ruled there for over 35 years as the benevolent rugby dictator – an Afrikaaner who was anti-Broeder and anti-Nat, worked hard to get Maori on All Black tours to the Republic, worked hard to get South African rugby integrated and non-whites into the Springboks…and was even prepared to travel to meet the ANC in exile in the early 1990s before the South African government. That, and he did all in his power to keep the Springboks playing the All Blacks…all while seeking to achieve his greatest goal – keep the Springboks winning (bastard!).
  
  The greatest rugby personality of the 20th century by the length of the straight – great international player, captain, coach, administrator, law-maker, writer. Oh, yes, and he did all that as a sideline to his full-time career as an academic, where he earned three doctorates (in anthropology, psychology and sports studies). And if that was the sort of superman who was required to keep South African rugby focused and on track…you can see why they have slowly declined since he passed away.

        Fact: The administration’s policy was to have an embassy compound in Benghazi, and failed to adequately secure it although it was known to be a dangerous location. The ambassador himself requested additional security (several times, and when refused, proposed that the place not be used) but was turned down. Four people died as a result of the Al Qaeda attack. That was as a direct result of the administration’s policy approach to Libya. Implemented by the then SOS but no doubt approved by the then POTUS.
        
        FACT: All US troops were removed from Iraq, and no serious attempt was made to negotiate a mechanism where some would remain. That certainly made it easier for the Shia factions to control the country and to exclude the Sunni factions (concentrated in mainly Western & Southern areas) from any power. That led directly to the success of ISIL in subverting those Sunni groups.
        
        That’s only two of the major fuck-ups that Obama has committed. He’s without any doubt the most ignorant, naive, and downright malevolently foolish president in US history.

        FACT: Hillary, Obama, Susan Rice, and Obama’s press secretary Jay Carney all blamed the Benghazi attack on a youtube video for causing a protest that led to the Sept 11, 2012 attack and deaths. They kept the story up for a whole week. Rice when on five talkshows and told the story. It was untrue. It was a narrative that Hillary started. The 2012 election was close, and Obama couldn’t afford to have that kind of failure breathing down his neck, so they made stuff up to cover their incompetence.
        
        Hillary told the Egyptian Prime Minister the day after the attack – “We know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a protest.”
        
        But Hillary blamed the “fog of war” for the lie.

      But immigrants from these other cultures usually make some attempt to adopt western attitudes.
      I lived for years next to a lovely Maori guy who was always helping his useless relies.
      They taught their (umpteen) kids crime, took them on burglaries as babies and later on pimped them out with Maori gangs.

      A similar cultural mindset occurs in other groups including one we could label “bogan”.
      
      But I don’t think it is “the stone age” as such, it is that the cultural mindset that was successful in pre-European NZ translates poorly to the present, and the evolution of that culture is almost entirely stifled by groups for a variety of reasons; most of which are not benignly intended.

    It is really hard for Maori to break the cycle because of such huge pressures within Maori social groups.
    
    If a Maori kid studies and tries hard to be successful then the typical outcome is being put down by his mates for “acting white” etc.
    
    As long as taking steps towards being successful are seen as “acting white” only very few people are going to make progress. A couple of years back I listened to a Maori guy giving a speech at Canterbury Uni who said this was the hardest part of his life. He’d had to break from his old mates and cousins etc and form a completely new social circle which valued success.
    
    This is not just a race issue either. We see this in some white families too. As soon as a kid starts getting good marks and talking about going to university they get hit with a barrage of “Oh so you’re too good to be a fork-lift driver like me”.

    Maori are more likely to be imprisoned almost entirely because they typically have a much longer history of committing such crimes. That history is very significant in sentencing.

    Maori and Pacific Islanders are far more likely to get PCWs than the general population even though they are more likely to have prior convictions.
    
    eg. in Auckaland city 18% of PCWs were given to Maori although Maori are only 8% of the population. ie. Maori are 2.5 times more likely to get a PCW than the general population.
    
    In other words, the system is bending over backwards to be lenient to Maori…. and it is not working.

        It gives the 8% Maori number for Auckland policing area which excludes Counties Manukau.
        
        “The 2006 Census shows 15% of the population in Counties Manukau were Maori, compared with 8% in Auckland and 9% in Waitemata”
        
        For Manukau, the PCW rate was 35% for Maori vs 15% of the population. ie. Maori were more than 2 times more likely to get PCWs than the general population.

An elderly relative ( a die hard lefty ) was reminiscing about childhood memories at an Auckland beach.

The family took him to that beach over Christmas.

I think he still had in his mind an idyllic vision of Victorian times of peaceful white NZers promenading and taking the air.

He was in for a HUGE shock.

First warning sign on arrival was the cop car in the carpark.

The crowd was 95% brown and fat. I mean FAT. Even the sprogs were FAT, with huge swollen chipmunk cheeks that literally squeezed their eyes into a narrow oriental look.

And they STARED hard at the few whites who walked by.

Huge tubs of fried chicken from the Colonel being rapidly devoured.

Negro rap/hip hop blaring from multiple ghetto blasters they had waddled down onto the beach with.

Ugly DIY tattoos.

Smoking.

I think that is one oldskool Lefty who may have shifted a bit further to the Right after witnessing the reality of Diversity and Multiculturalism.

A French olive farmer, who has become a folk hero for helping African migrants slip across the border from Italy and giving them shelter, went on trial today for aiding illegal immigrants.

Cedric Herrou, 37, is one of three people to appear before the courts in southern France for assisting migrants fleeing war, poverty and persecution to Europe.

He is accused of ‘helping undocumented foreigners enter, move about and reside in’ France and risks up to five years in prison and a 30,000 euro (£25,500) fine if convicted.

        New York has strict gun laws.( like Chicago)It is next to Vermont which doesn’t.(like Chicago is next to Missouri- although felons can’t buy guns in Missouri)
        So it’s easy to get guns in Vermont to take back to New York.
        New York has relatively low crime despite this.
        So perhaps the reason there are so many murders in Chicago is not because they get guns from a neighbouring state,.
        Perhaps it’s because the politicians in Chicago make it very very hard for the Police to do stop and search. Lots of paperwork because of the ACLU
        Perhaps it’s because the Police have given up on trying to deal to the gangs whereas in NY its Policy to hammer the gangs for every little reason.
        They apply the 80/20 rule.20% do all the crime so target that group.

  Jetskis do have some practical purposes (eg. can be used as a small fishing boat).
  
  My most satisfying encounter with a jet-skier was in Cape Town in 1983. Some mates and I were free diving for crayfish and perlemoen (SA version of paua – generally a bit bigger). After 10 minutes of this dick buzzing us, someone threw a large perlemoen which hit him in the chest, knocking him off the jetski. He got the message and buggered off.

Our race relations conciliator isn’t very … conciliatory.. A conciliator is supposed to bring people together and resolve misunderstandings, a bit like having a fireman around to put out fires. Dame Susan approaches the job by finding small smouldering embers of racial resentment caused by poor communication and does the equivalent of pouring petrol on them by throwing around accusations of racism.

We don’t need a fireman who sprays petrol on fires. Nor do we need a conciliator who can’t conciliate; who exacerbates resentments and tensions rather than reducing them; and who has a talent for turning small private disagreements into big public flaming rows.

A prestigious UK university has introduced ‘trigger warnings’ into its theology course over fears students may be distressed when studying the crucifixion of Jesus.

The University of Glasgow introduced the warnings for students taking a class called Creation to Apocalypse: Introduction to the Bible (Level 1).

Popular in US educational institutions, trigger warnings were introduced to warn people about content which may ‘trigger’ a post-traumatic stress reaction.

However, critics argue they have gone too far and are at risk of making university undergraduates overly sensitive or restricting freedom of speech.

The Telegraph reports that in one lecture about Jesus, the University of Glasgow warned students it “contains graphic scenes of the crucifixion.”

Students were told such images would be would be flagged up to them beforehand.

The University of Glasgow also gave trigger warnings to veterinary students who work with dead animals and other students who discuss violence and illness.

The trigger warning phenomenon is appearing in educational institutions across the country.

Stirling University, also in Scotland, has warned archaeology students they would be shown an image of a well-preserved archaeological body, in case they found it “a bit gruesome.”

A spokesman for the University of Glasgow defended the policy.

“We have an absolute duty of care to all of our students and where it is felt course material may cause potential upset or concern warnings may be given,” he told the Telegraph.

Forensic science students at Strathclyde University have been given a “verbal warning at the beginning of some lectures where sensitive images, involving blood patterns, crime scenes and bodies are in the presentation.”

Scottish Tory education spokesperson Liz Smith said: “Universities are meant to be a place of learning where concepts are challenged and tricky subjects debated.

“That will become increasingly difficult if they go too far out their way to ensure everything survives the politically correct test. Some of the examples set out here are patently ridiculous.”

What disturbs me most about idiots who do this, is that they truly think they’re doing people a kindness in so doing. The morons don’t understand that actually, humans that are being don’t need to be encased in cotton wool, indeed doing this to them is a dis-service. And the fools would be horrified if tbey knew what they were really doing to these people.

  And those triggers are ASSOCIATIVE so they are contingent on each individuals traumatic experience, its impossible to issue general warnings about these triggers:
  
  E.g.: a sufferer may be triggered by a certain melody that was playing or the colour of the walls in the cell they were tortured in 1, 10, 30 years ago.

LATEST: FBI says they asked DNC for servers, and DNC refused, “inhibited” the investigation.

The Democratic National Committee “inhibited” the FBI’s investigation of email hacks by refusing to grant investigators access to the party’s computer servers, the bureau is claiming.

“The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated,” an FBI official said Thursday, according to BuzzFeed News.

“This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information. These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier.”

“ DONALD Trump’s complicated financial obligations have been laid bare, with reports he owes more than $1.4 billion.
Debt “connected” to the President-elect’s companies adding up to more than $1.37 billion ($US1 billion) is owed to more than 150 financial institutions, the Wall Street Journal reported overnight.
The revelation has prompted renewed concern about a potential conflict of interests minefield when Mr Trump takes office in two weeks’ time.
According to the Journal, the loans were divided, repackaged and then sold in the form of bonds over the past five years, with some of them personally guaranteed by Mr Trump — who previously estimated his companies’ debt obligations at $US315 million.
Mr Trump has appointed a number of former and current Goldman Sachs executives to his new cabinet and advisory groups, while easing criticism of Wall Street since the November 8 election.

His campaign had been highly critical of Hillary Clinton’s ties to the banking sector in the lead-up to the poll…”

Three jobs but still struggling financially

A Porirua couple who work almost 80 hours a week say they often can only afford to feed their two young children a biscuit at mealtimes.

New statistics this week show the gap between the rich and poor is widening, but the government rejects the idea inequality is rising.

Situa Tangatauli works three cleaning shifts throughout the day, starting at 6am and finishing at 11pm.

Her husband is a security guard working in the afternoon and evenings. They are both on the minimum wage of $15.25.

She said she felt guilty that despite them working the equivalent of two full time jobs, they could not afford to give their two young girls the simplest things.

“My oldest one has joined a basketball team and during the school holidays there was a programme and she had to pay $5 each day,” she said.

“Some days I had to tell her she has to miss this one because I can’t afford to make a proper lunch for you.”

On some days she looks inside her cupboards and all she can offer her children is a biscuit.

“I said to them is it alright and they say ‘mum it’s ok because we know you’ve been working hard’,” she said.

“I know it’s not a proper lunch but they accept what I get for them.”

Situa mops floors, vacuums and cleans toilets every day as a contractor at two libraries and a pub in Porirua – it is work she enjoys.

For her, it is not a case of wanting a better job, but wanting to be paid what she feels she deserves and what her family needs.

Earlier this year, her power was suddenly cut off.

      A lot of bosses simply pay the minimum wage because they can – it doesn’t matter if one person works twice as hard as another – they simply keep paying the minimum wage as it is law, and if the employee leaves then another ‘needy’ person fills the role.
      
      It happened to me working in kitchens in NZ so I left the country – around 20yrs ago. I won’t ever go back out of principal – people should be paid for what they do – not be paid what the boss ‘thinks’ they should be paid. Do twice the work than others then get twice the pay – it’s the simple.
      
      I’m really sad that people like these two try to get ahead but employers couldn’t give a fuck — and I’m a full-on capitalist!
