Over 80s driver testing

I’ve blogged a wee bit on Helen Clark’s announcement that she would abolish the driving test requirement for the over 80s.

Found out yesterday, that by coincidence, by father was the representative of the Royal College of GPs on the consultative group who had been working on this issue. He is quoted in this article in the NZ Herald.

I’m not going to comment further on this issue, now I know he is on the consultative group which has to come up with a final recommendation. That’s unfair to him, and may lead people to think we had been discussing this issue, which until yesterday we had not.
