  It really would be far better for everyone ~~except the US taxpayer~~ if the US continued to subsidise the rest of the world. I mean, if you can do it on the dole, whereby the parasite generation of Labour voters feel perfectly OK about never meeting their responsibilities under the social contract because they can scab off the ever diminishing proportion who are net tax payers – then why shouldn’t nations be able to scab a free ride off of the individual US taxpayers too?

Watched that Laura Southern documentary last night about white SA farmers.

It was very badly made but she has certainly got balls going over there and walking right into the lion’s den on a couple of occasions.

Didn’t see it as extreme right wing, just a young woman from a highly privileged country finding out some home truths.

It’s pretty clear whites are slowly getting wiped out over there. I imagine newsrooms the world over sum this process up in four words ‘they had it coming’.

I view white SA farmers as refugees and would welcome many more of them here.

  I agree about the white SA farmers coming here as worthy refugees. If the reports are correct in Southern’s film, whites rights are being removed and turned away from SA hospital care, etc.
  
  They won’t be accepted here of course being both white, and farmers will rule them out under our current regime.

  Listening to this interview with some Aussie bint, it’s really hard to find anything to be offended about what Southern says – I mean she’s calm, logical, clear about her reasons and she makes good points.
  
  On the other hand, I did try putting my pussy march hat on and started making a high pitched screeching noise while feeling really, really sorry for myself and my miserable life – and all of a sudden I started to feel deeply offended about Southern’s very existence.

Looks like a solid choice by Pres Trump. He seems pretty moderate to me. He thinks the law should mean what it says. How outrageous! Good strong Irish name too.

  Means what it says ? Like the 14th amendment which says the states can’t write laws that don’t give equal protections to the people. Exactly the reason equal marriage was allowed, as of course the US Constitution doesn’t otherwise mention marriage being only man and a women

    You have proved Huevon’s point. Equal protection means black, white, male, female are treated the same. It does not mean each person is entitled to laws tailored to his own preferences.
    
    If the city council regulates what colours you can paint your house and someone is upset because he really likes lime green with purple spots, he is not being denied equal protection of the laws. He is, like many of us, simply a victim of a law that is rather silly but not unconstitutional.

  You bring up an interesting point. Kavanaugh was one of the leaders in Starr’s investigation of President Clinton. Now he is strongly of the view that investigation, let alone prosecution of a sitting president is unconstitutional – which is why Trump selected him.

    Unlike the current Mueller investigation, Starr’s original investigation into Whitewater was based on an actual crime.
    
    Whitewater was a fairly simple bank fraud. A pair of bank owners fraudulently used the bank’s deposits to buy up land in a real estate company that they also owned at unrealistic values. The bank went bankrupt as a result and was bailed out by the Fed. The owners were later convicted of the fraud.
    
    Also involved in the scheme were the Clinton’s who were minor shareholders in the real estate deal, and most importantly the lawyer for the dealings was one HRC. It was never able to be proven the Bill Clinton knew about the fraudulent aspects of the deal, however it was suspected that Hillary as the deals lawyer was involved in the conspiracy to defraud.
    
    In order to prove her involvement Starr’s team needed good evidence. They had pin-pointed the times and dates that meetings to plan the fraud had taken place, and they wanted to show that Hillary attended those meetings. So they subpoena’d the billing records for the law firm she was a partner in – the Rose Hill Law partnership. But they found that not only had the computer systems at RHLP been purged and wiped, but that the obligatory manual backup records were physically missing and could not be found.
    
    To cut this short, the bank owners were prosecuted and found guilty, and imprisoned. HRC was not indicted.
    
    A year or so later when the statute of limitations had expired on the bank fraud case, a complete set of the RHLP records turned up in an unused room in the West wing of the Whitehouse. Examination of a second set found at Vince Foster’s apartment showed that HRC had attended (or at least billed for) the critical conspiracy meetings.
    
    So more or less proven that HRC was complicit in and benefited from bank fraud, bUt as usual, got away with it. And the pattern of deleting and removing data under subpoena does recur in her case, does it not ?

      Way to miss the point, which is that Trump has taken care to pick a jurist who previously believed (and enthusiastically participated) in investigatng and prosecuting presidents but no longer thinks that is constitutional.
      This would explain why some anti-abortion groups didn’t like this choice – seems insufficiently zealous. Trump doesn’t care about abortion and those other trigger causes – he wants judges he can rely on to vote away any prosecution of himself.

  Had to laugh yesterday at how much of a conman Bernie Sanders is. He went on CNN and was rambling that Republicans in the House, Senate, and White House were all extreme right wingers and any nominee must be opposed. Erin Burnett then pointed out that it is likely Kavanaugh or Hardiman and that he voted for them only a decade earlier. When that came out it was completely stuffed, it wasn’t Republicans moving to the right, it is Sanders dragging Democrats further and further to the left. He couldn’t explain why he voted for the same guys then but not now.

If the Right decided to get a protest group together( not that they do) and threatened to cause mayhem at an event where Left speakers were speaking would the Police;

(a) Tell the event organisers to cancel the event because of the threat of violence.

(b) Use their powers to arrest any Right protesters who were impeding the Left attendees or speakers

    This is the (previously) regular antique firearms auctions held in the hall by Ted Rogers.
    I have been to a bunch of these sales, typically 2 day events with 1500 lots of old and interesting stuff.
    If you want to buy a pair of matched percussion dueling pistols for $35,000 then this sale is your best bet in NZ.
    You might see 5 (?) military semi auto weapons out of the 1500 items and the rest is various sporting and military items from the last 200 years or so.
    But Ted threw in the towel as it wasnt feasible to hire security to keep the site safe from protesters while having a couple of hundred old crusty collectors (like my ole man) inside bidding on bits of interesting old shit.
    Its a pity. Ted ran a great sale and now the big auction houses get the estate sales of gun collections rather than it being done between people that all have known each other for many many years.

    As a Catholic, it gives me no great pleasure, but in all honesty, Fr Burns needs to be laicised and booted out of the Marists. He is an absolute walking debacle and has the ridiculous liberation theology in his head. If he really wanted a noble cause, he could ask a lot of questions about the Marist Order and what they are doing about the current investigations of sexual abuse.
    
    Idiots like him are why the Church has gone down the horrible road it has in the last 40 years. The radicals, miscreants, liturgical Orcs and sexual perverts were given too much free rein.

      Would be interesting if that happens, the UK has around 5 surplus “basic J” models left in their inventory that are apparently worn out from extensive use in the Middle East (eg supporting the Iraq war etc), so they would be approaching 20 years old by the time NZ gets them hypothetically. Then they’d need quite a bit spent on them to refurbish them and even then they wouldn’t have too many years life left in them, so I would hope the Govt doesn’t purchase these as that would repeat the debacle that Labour did in the 2000’s by cancelling the then RNZAF 8x new C-130J-30 purchase in favor of upgrades to the existing 1960’s vintage H-model Hercules. NZ also requires the stretched J-30 model (just like the Aussies have) to handle more cargo (apparently the RAF will be keeping their stretched J30’s, if so, NZ may luck out on them).

      Given your inside knowledge, can you also advise whether New Zealand will join up with Australia to add on two more Types 126 frigates to the existing contract that Australia is doing with BAE to replace the ANZAC’s in the early 2030’s. I would thought it was an ideal opportunity to do another ANZAC deal to the benefit of New Zealand’s industrial base.

The problem is that our weakening contracting magnetic shield allows much greater penetration of galactic cosmic rays.       So they didn’t actually hit the ambulance. However the people really were hurt, and the ambulances were covered in shrapnel holes but it wasn’t hit because on closer inspection it looks like a light was blown off rather than the rocket hitting that spot. The rocket not hitting the ambulance while hitting the ambulance argument. The cars next to the ambulance were completely destroyed so clearly they didn’t target the ambulance or its crew.

Most of the story concentrates on the details of the attack, the conversation on Facebook that led to it, and so on. Her barrister made some, umm, interesting comments that there was no dispute that “his client’s body” had committed the axe attack, but the question to be decided was what was happening in her mind.

“It’s not whether the body of Evie Amati was guilty of the charges, but whether the mind, brain, soul of Evie Amati bore any legal or moral responsibility for the body’s actions,” Waterstreet said.

Apparently she’s super intelligent, yah de yah.

Three quarters of the way down I get to this:

… Amati, who was born a man, began taking hormones in 2012 to transition to a woman but the drugs had a significant effect on her state of mind … Amati’s mental state deteriorated in 2015, when she had surgery in Thailand to complete her transition to a woman, and she began to experience visions, hallucinations and suicidal and homicidal ideation.

Just wondering, who’s to say the drugs caused her mental state to deteriorate? I’m sorry and I apologise in advance to anybody who may be offended by this, but to my mind anybody who thinks they have been born into the wrong body and should really be a different gender is, at the very least, terribly confused.

Can’t help wondering if the drugs alone are to blame.

  I watched a Steven Crowder video yesterday which goes into the history of gender theory, and it turns out that one of the first guys to promote it (unfortunately) was a guy from NZ called John Money.
  
  He was “treating” one of a pair of twin boys. One twin lost his penis after a botched circumcision, so Money decided to raise him as a girl. The parents agreed etc. Money had the twins interact with each other in weird ways, like dry humping each other naked, etc, while he took photos (I am not making this up).
  
  Later on, the “girl” wanted to be a natural boy, like he always should have been. He ended up blowing his head off with a shotgun when he was older while the other twin OD’d.

What’s the general observation regarding fuel prices out of Auckland? My observation on diesel – going by pre and post fuel tax Auckland prices from Gaspy, is that the margin between out of Auckland prices I use and the most expensive Auckland prices has either remained the same (c. 20c/litre or thereabouts) or even reduced (to about 14 c/litre in one instance. ie prices out of Auckland appear to have increased beyond core fuel price changes.

No need to respond if you have your head up peters’ arse or you’re enjoying a progressive but more drawn out mental implosion along the lines of scottie kwiss.

  DVM – I drive from south island to Auckland a few times a year. I keep record of fuel (diesel) for these trips, and try to fill in Levin as prices there appear one of the lowest in the bottom half of the country.
  
  In November last I paid 94.7cpl for diesel in Levin.
  In April this year I paid 122.7cpl for diesel in Levin.

    You are such a dotard… It’s not like a printed newspaper, but even they had different headlines for different editions.
    It’s digital and there are 2 things happening. Once you have seen a story and read it they will promote different stories, as clicks bring in the money. The other result is that stories that noone reads quickly fall down the queue of ones you see.
    Many many years ago when I worked for greeting card company, they did same thing. Cards that were least popular were pulled from display pockets in shops as there literally dozens of other options to replace them

        Ztev’s view of the relationship between advertising is simplistic and wrong. For example, historically business sections of English-language newspapers have been read by a small percentage of subscribers and few young readers yet attract disproportionate advertising.

    Cave diving while uncommon here is a very technical operation involving extremely tight spaces (squeezes) freezing water and strong currents as well as zero visibility.
    In 30 years I only had one dive in conditions that could be considered as a ‘pot holer’

      They do a bit, mostly around Nelson. Cave diving is very risky and usually very arduous – carrying all the necessary gear into a cave to the point where one can dive can be exhausting. And if anything goes wrong there’s very few options.
      
      Interesting to note that the Brits have been into cave diving for some time, and it was a couple of experienced Brit cave divers who led the way in to the boys. Experienced cave divers were probably more use than the SEAL divers. Nothing wrong with the skills of the SEALS but cave diving is a very specialised skill set.

Three of the boys stuck in the cave in Chiang Rai are not Thai, but stateless with no birth certificates. The team has been invited to visit ManU, but these kids currently can’t get passports unless they are granted Thai citizenship.
Around that area there are numerous refugee families from Myanmar, victims of ethnic cleansing over generations. Hundreds of thousands of them. If you drive around some of the remote areas up there, as we have, you can see their villages where they scratch out a living like human zoos or there’re exploited as cheap labour.
The Burmese loathe them, the Thais don’t want them.
Maybe this bit of exposure will shine some light on their plight, but as with the Rohingya, I doubt it’ll last long.
When the British rescuers first made contact with the lads the only one who could speak English was one of the stateless boys.

        But the DNC Emails weren’t hacked by Russians, they were taken as an inside job.
        
        You probably even think Guccifer2 was genuine – mug. That persona claimed to have released certain documents from the DNC email leak and these hard cryllic error messages embedded just to show attribution to Russia.
        
        Unfortunately for this ruse, there is a very specific series of steps required to get the Cyrillic messages embedded and those steps are pretty improbable ones unless it is indeed ones aim to embed such messages. Then the wheels really fall off when the prime document claimed to be from the DNC is actually from John Podesta’s email account and NOT the DNC. The DNC acknowledges that.
        
        So why did G2 release that document and claim it was from the DNC, misdirection anyone ? G2 was a Crowdstrike employee or contractor set up to divert attention. Crowdstrike, the outfit led by a fanatically anti-Russian Ukrainian who were the only people to examine the DNC server. The FBI never saw it or examined it in detail, they only saw what parts Crowdstrike released to them.
        
        We have Russian collusion alright, the Clinton campaign paid FSB agents to “source” misinformation to fill out the Steele Dossier – that’s real collusion and real payment to a foreign intelligence agency, but hey, look over there, squirrel !

That young female EU diplomat who won’t pay rent arrears and damage and has hid behind diplomatic immunity.
Winston upheld her diplomatic immunity protection – I have no problem with this. However he should also have said that the EU should recall her.
Foreign affairs should quietly tell the EU Ambassador that if she does not cough up she will be declared persona non grata.
The EU Ambassador should also show some leadership and have a meeting with her without coffee and tell her if she does not sort things she will be sent home. Perhaps she is protected by EU bureaucracy. Many other nations would not tolerate that sort of behaviour from their diplomats for one moment. Years ago the UK Government recalled the British Assistant High Commissioner because he was not doing his job or similar.

Her new landlord must be quaking in his shoes – he would not have known of this issue when they signed the rental agreement. He will no doubt be doing the quarterly checks thoroughly and riding shotgun if rent is one day late. No doubt she is now on the tenancy badlist – hopefully diplomatic immunity does not keep her off it.

Hope the old landlord has her listed with VEDA etc and overseas affiliates.

She had screwed things up for all other diplomats wanting to rent. Diplomats will have moved from ‘most favoured’ tenants to ‘scum’ tenants. Perhaps landlords might be able to ask for bank guarantees or similar.

I saw a bit in this morning’s paper where a school teacher said that year nine boys ranged in weight from 38kg to, get this!, 160kg.
Then I thought that if those two boys went on a flight to a hiking site with all their gear which exceeded the 20kg baggage allowance they would each have to pay the same overweight charge because they each had 5kg overweight.
If you think that is fair, then you and I have differing views on fairness.

Vic My view is that Winston Peters secured the reins of power, placed his henchmen into position where they could get the majority of funding to ‘influence’ their next election-drive, and left Labour powerless to assist its core constituency of nurses and teachers. Meanwhile the racing industry, foreign embassies and defence forces got to spend up large thus cow-towing to the kinds of overseas investment and silent partners who fund political parties and corrupt our democratic process.
All because Jacinda Ardern couldn’t keep her knickers on.

For me this issue of Goff banning the speakers from council venues shows how far the National Party has fallen in my estimations and essentially abandoned it’s traditional voter base.
National used to stand for freedom of business and individuals and an issue like this would have created some serious noise from them in the past but now we just get a couple of low level radio interviews stating their position but nothing with any conviction or desire to take a stand on.
They have become cowered and don’t want to say anything which is controversial or challenges the national religion of multiculturalism and diversity.
Instead the battle to preserve peoples rights is left to ordinary citizens who care enough to chip in and test the issue in court.

    Bridges and other MP’s need to be hammering this in parliament and other larger forums to really convince me they care more than a token about this.
    As for a media conspiracy to silence it up, well I have seen a fair bit of discussion about it and to be honest Chris Trotter has been more visible on this issue than National.

Admitedly, Whanganui is a shithole and doesn’t have much going for it, but she should be applying for EVERY RELATED JOB that comes up.

You have to laugh at the sheer lack of discernment of the obvious, or even a little self-awareness, of the MSM.

Ferdinando Giugliano comment in Bloomberg says:

“The Brussels bureaucrat may be an easy target rhetorically but they’re a hard opponent, precisely because they have very little flexibility to deviate from the agreed rules.”

There’s an old motto “We bend but never break”. ‘Weasel’ Gove has even framed it as not sacrificing ‘the good for the perfect’ as justification for UK capitulation to EU demands. European countries are increasingly demanding ‘bending’ from the elite powerbrokers of the EU with increasing discord.

Giugliano is celebrating the EU being completely unbending and strenuously and studiously avoiding all ‘good’ for the European people in the name of their ideological ‘perfection’. He seems to think it’s a successful strategy into a future for them.

But then, even he has to recognise the inevitable:

“Of course, EU member states might one day realise that this is all too much to bear and that countries need to be free to set their own course.”

Yes, that is the inevitable outcome of refusing to ‘bend’. You ‘break’ – most often at immense human cost as you take a lot of others with you.

He also says, “But until then, the Johnsons and Davises of Europe are destined to fail.”

What a thing to celebrate – how perverse can you get? Besides, any ‘failure’ of Boris Johnson is in his personal career and has no bearing on Brexit at all. David Davis will remain a hero with integrity which is clearly what matters to him – only the most inhuman careerist can see his decision as ‘failure’. He’s at the height of success.

The obvious reality which Giugliano, the MSM generally, and the EU in particular fail to realise or recognise all the time is that it’s ‘the people’ of the UK who chose Brexit – and those across Europe who are challenging the EU. It’s not Davis or Johnson or Farage or anyone else in particular. They might all be playing roles as true representatives of those people – but they are only ‘representatives’ who can be changed at will by themselves or ‘the people’.

The only failure going on is in the totalitarian and unbending EU. The ultimate price to be paid will be by the EU. They’ll undoubtedly hurt a lot of others on the way out, but inevitably out they will go – broken – if they don’t bend.

The UK is bending in the gales but ultimately there is only one response to it. They’re going to have to plant their feet onto their own solid ground, stand up, pick up their social, economic, and political mat, and walk determinedly into their own international and world-leading future.

The image of the British Bulldog is not an accident. Neither is their attitude of ‘keep calm and carry on’. Both have been seen in the Thai cave rescue which could be seen as a metaphor for escaping the EU. It’s not a question of ‘if’; it’s a question of how and when. They are the best in the world at it when faced with the apparently ‘impossible’. A willingness to sacrifice immediate comfort and safety is part of it – some may be lost – and so is the preparedness of themselves, and as leaders, to squeeze past sharp objects, around tight corners, and through impossibly small spaces to get to open air and new life. Long may they reign.

Red Radio gets the pay-off for backing the Left.

The Government’s granted it an extra $4.5 million in funding this year.

Crazy Clare, the Broadcasting Minister, is reported on the Radio NZ web site as saying of the reasons for the handout:

…RNZ would help extend current services and took the public media organisation a step closer towards becoming a fully digital multi-platform, called RNZ+.

Fully digital? Bullshit. Its radio broadcasts in AM and FM will remain analogue. Haven’t heard anything about State-funded digital broadcasting for NZ.

The Government has also earmarked another $4m for State funder NZ On Air to support the production of “more diverse local content.”

That’s Left-speak for multiculturism.

It was a shambles the way they went for a wholly online option (with some minor exceptions).

It was so important that the Minister for Statistics (Jimmy 2-Mums) decided he needn’t even be in the country on designated Census day!

So how come Winston says we have no more money or will it embarrass the Coalition that National are right that they have to borrow a lot more than what the they have said they have borrowed to keep their head above water.

  Perhaps Bridges got to be leader due to his skills at playing politics within the party and has no political skills with the voting public.
  
  I strongly suspect he is way too full of himself and has spent his life associating only with those who he thought could benefit his career. As a result he has no feeling for people.
  
  I fear he is an arrogant smug snob and the public are going to hate him when they sense that.

  Winstons lost for words when asked about census he has no answer for the low turnout in 2018. It must have hurt like hell to not be able to say thats what happens when the last lot under funded government identities for the last nine years. President Donald Trump is pushing other countries within the NATO military alliance to contribute more to their defense spending — and the U.K.’s former defense minister has told CNBC that he agrees.

“Half the alliance — 16 of the 29 countries — don’t even spend 1.5% (of gross domestic product) let alone 2% that we all agreed on four years ago at a NATO summit in Wales,” Michael Fallon, who served as secretary of state for defense from 2014 to 2017, said Tuesday.

Civil servant in Spain skips work – for a decade

A civil servant has been handed a nine-year ban from public posts after it emerged he had been absent from his €50,000-a-year job for more than a decade.

Every weekday morning, Carles Recio, an archives director in Valencia’s provincial government, would turn up at his office only to clock in and head straight out again, before coming back at 4pm to clock out.

It was a routine he managed to maintain for 10 years until last year, when, after colleagues began to raise suspicions, he was finally fired.

So it took 10 years before his colleagues began to “raise suspicions”. Were they gliding in and out of the office too?

This has been a really bad week for NZ left/media. A whole lot more otherwise disinterested NZers got their attention drawn to them lying their arses off about a couple of youtubers being Nazis and trying to justify attempts to silence free speech. With passions raised that is going to reach a whole lot more kiwi ears as those who got pissed off by the bullshit ad-homs and undermining of democratic ideals talk to friends and families.

In the age of the internet being caught in a lie kills your credibility forever.
