Why do people often say that the National party are not an effective opposition anymore? The answer is simple, they are not an opposition. The reason is very easily explained. 193 countries signed UN Agenda 30 in 2015. If you look at the agenda, it is a communist plan of control (no private land ownership, or private farming, as in the Chinese system). In the US, UN Agenda 21 was first brought to the house as a bill in 1993 by Nancy Pelosi. That should say it all.

National, the government of the day in 2015, signed UN Agenda 30. National, therefore, want to see it implemented, and any opposition is simply a role play. If we accept the results of the last election in New Zealand, then the majority voted for, embraced, communism. New Zealand therefore, has converted to communism.

The UK, slightly behind, as they have a so-called Conservative leadership, is in the process of doing so. Boris Johnson is a solid believer and implementer of the agenda in England. In fact, UK is a leader in the implementation of UN Agenda 30, and the so-called green revolution.

The so called “pandemic” (show us your papers, or in this case vaccine passports, and a destroyed economy, always handy for communism), and the so called “climate crisis” (more controls on movement, industry, and farming) are their two big drivers, the two big catalysts, for the swift implementation of the UN Agendas, almost by stealth. Not to mention the old trusty Communist maxim of divide and conquer, via identity politics, the un-jabbed versus the jabbed, the lockdown sceptics versus the supporters, the mask wearers versus the unmasked, the climate deniers versus the climate catastrophe asserters. “Disinformation” was a term invented by Stalin, by the way.

Fortunately, in the US there is some resistance to communism and the UN plan by Trump and the Republicans. Ever wondered why Jacinda Adern was so opposed to Trump, right from the outset (as well as all the other globalist leaders)? It’s not because they think he is racist, sexist, or a bigot. It is because he is an obstacle to the globalist communist agenda.

The same Jacinda Adern who stood up at a Gates foundation function in 2019 and said that GDP was not that important anymore, and that she would make sure that New Zealand led the world in implementing UN Agenda 30. The UN agendas are anti-sovereignty, and globalist leaders have intentionally conspired with foreigners against their own citizens. Surely that, by any definition, makes them traitors.

I don’t even need to mention China’s takeover of New Zealand (sped up during a National government), or indeed the World Economic Forum (you will own nothing, have no privacy, but you will be happy – Communism 101).

So, if you feel New Zealand is slowly becoming more like a communist dictatorship every day, or even Venezuela, that’s because it is, and it’s not hard to see why, is it?

    KiP refers to the “… so called ‘climate crisis’ (more controls on movement, industry, and farming) …” and you dive in with a list of events claiming they result from the world getting warmer, and tell KiP s/he or what s/he writes is “nuts”.
    
    Now the attribution of these events to a warmer globe is controversial – Climate models may suggest their frequency could increase, but history shows they’ve previously occurred (the problem is they are low frequency events and there are other potential causes); attribution of the main cause of the recent warming to human activity is not certain, along with the extent of GHGs as a future driver; the idea that this constitutes a crisis is purely polemic; and the idea that it is essential to introduce international and national command and control in its name is as controversial as saying the same of the fight to truly liberate the workers.

    Family member was on the dole for more than 30 years, but the clock got reset several times. Couple of times took up a job arranged for him, didn’t last long. Twice put forward a business plan that got funded quite generously and failed almost immediately. After the second time, stood down as the contract required so headed off to uni along with fees paid and a student allowance.
    
    Graduated, back on the dole for a little while until whew turned 65.
    
    Not stupid, not unskilled but flakey and entitled.
    
    Quite a lot of effort to keep him off the long term stats. Can’t really blame MSD – they had to try and did.

Only a couple of mill involved so no doubt the Prime Minister will be happy to make a cheap captain’s call. There is a givealittle page but it’s not doing well so far. Time to get out the crayons.

On 7 April 2020 Waikato District Council granted resource consent to undertake the earthworks. On 6 May 2020 excavation began but was stopped as members of Ngāti Tamainupō, including the petitioner, sought to prevent the site being destroyed. Te Arawhiti said the site has been occupied since then. On 23 February, Waikato District Council cancelled the consent for earthworks at the site. Then, on 18 March, Perjuli appealed the cancellation to the Environment Court.

  They keep talking in these articles about ‘borrow pits’ on the former grazing land.
  I think they have confused ‘burrow pits’ which exist elsewhere nearby on the Waikato river banks, and are excavations to obtain material for gardening , sand or gravel.
  An aspect of Maori gardening, and there are large areas of ‘coverted soils’ known to archeaologists.
  The local Maori seem to be asserting the ‘borrow pits’ are related to the opening of food pits which gives Ngaruawahia and the nearby Hakarimata hills their names. This was a historic feast, in pre-European times. However – burrow pits are NOT food storage pits, and nor is this location consistent with where rua-kumara would normally be placed.
  I suspect it is a matter of confusion with locals, that these pits are signifigant historically. This is why the historic places trust gave approval for the site development.
  I have found more than once that Maori supplied ‘traditional’ knowledge might contain an element of fact, and then transported to the wrong place/time or general context and much distorted.
  Frustrating, as it is hard to rebut without causing offence given the new-facts come from special class of people.
  Journalists would have no damned clue either.

Three of the girls from tennis came over real early this morning to watch it in the HT. I made an Eton Mess to have with a few glasses of shampoo. Only proviso was they had to be gone by 6 because my partner had a few mates coming over for the soccer. I’m just about to make some B&E toasties to take in for their brekkie. No idea who’s winning yet. Boring if you ask me anyway.

  Trouble is that, no matter how much we can admire and appreciate his tennis skills, it is very hard to actually love Djokovic in the way that Federer and Nadal inspire genuine affection from their fans.     Bill English’s tenure was halted by Ardern when she “gave the tail-wags-the-dog-MMP-nod” to Winston. As fine as English’s plans for “forward-looking social investment initiatives targeting crime” were, Ardern’s govt didn’t think so and gave them short shrift. Nevertheless, in spite of ignoring the essential paths built by English, she is somehow miraculously able to follow these paths anyway. Such is her acute awareness of fairness and desire to focus on children. What nonsense. Wishing something is true is not the same as making it so. If Gilbert is disappointed and wants folk to give Ardern longer to succeed, he should just say so. If she has cut her nose off to spite her face and now sees her mistake, so be it, just get on with fixing it.

Central Hawke’s Bay mayor Alex Walker says the funders of a $2.75 million drug rehabilitation programme led by the Mongrel Mob, must keep their eyes “wide open”.

Close to $3m in funding seized from gangs and criminals by police is being used to fund the new Kahukura programme, a live-in mārae-based aimed at addressing trauma and drug-seeking behaviour.

A powhiri was held earlier this week at Tapairu Marae in Waipawa to launch the Kahukura programme, with invitations signed off by Mongrel Mob national president Sonny Smith and his wife Mahinaarangi Smith.

Central Hawke’s Bay Mayor Alex Walker said it was a “confronting issue”.

“Meth is scourge in our communities and anything which will remove its influence from our families is important.”

However, she acknowledged government funding of a gang would not be “well received” by the community, adding: “I hope the funders have their eyes wide open”.

The Ministry of Health’s deputy director-general mental health and addiction Toni Gutschlag said it had received a request from H2R (Hard to Reach) with the intention to work with a collective of Mongrel Mob Chapters.

Information on the H2R website describes a pilot of the Kahukura programme as being led by the Chaindogs, a cluster of Mob chapters with a common affiliation to the Notorious chapter of the Mongrel Mob.

So it’s not just the common-garden Mongrel Mob that has received funding, it’s the Notorious chapter. One of the definitions of notorious is widely and unfavorably known, and the Notorious chapter is indeed that.

Did the Ministry of Health fail to notice that Mongrel Mob members were arrested recently in an international drug operation traced back to a Mexican cartel? Have they failed to see all the stories in the media about Mongrel Mob members, including senior Mob leaders arrested for methamphetamine related offences? Of, like Human Rights Commissioner Paul Hunt and Green co-leader Marama Davidson, do they believe that everything in the Mongrel Mob is ka pai, and that they’re just a group of misunderstood victims of colonisation?

This is a disgraceful use of public funds, and the Minister of Health, Andrew Little, needs to intervene.

We can’t have pigs in pens or chickens in crowded cages .

We can’t have a heartless buffoon in the White House .

We can’t have our armed forces taking on the bad guys in Afghanistan .

But we will ignore a defenceless child left to die on a draining board in a hospital .

Where’s the outrage.

So how can Ardern promote the “Christchurch Call” – designed to supposedly stop terrorist live-streaming – but at the same time allow any Government financial assistance or rebate to the proposed THEY ARE US movie when a further Newshub item this morning says – All of the people consulted were united in saying this script was worse than the livestream the terrorist used to broadcast his atrocities.”

Spokesperson Anjum Rahman – says it’s time New Zealanders started contacting people overseas, as the producers have clearly not listened to the backlash they have received.
“It’s time to start contacting people we’re connected to overseas and asking them to advocate as well. There need to be international voices speaking out against this.”

This is perhaps slightly tricky – does Rahman actually intend to incite active international protest, or has the leaked script incited Rahman? (maybe Ardern can better inform us when she has actually better defines what ‘hate speech’ is)

Apart from an overtone, which some may find a little sinister in Rahman’s remarks – based on her own reservations regarding news of overseas protests and their backlash here, as she outlined to the Commission, that New Zealand Islamic women would scan the evening news to gauge what abuse they may face next morning at work, or taking children to school – will Ardern doing anything to prevent the destruction of the image she holds internationally after the March 15 event, without making another legal blunder like her interference in halting Fletchers’ construction at Ihumātao?

Around the mid 1990s Film Commission-backed film projects were perceived to be somewhat weak in storyline attributes, and some funding was conditional on an accepted writing professional advising on the script. Does that not set a precedent, that Government funding (taxpayer finance) have some overall protection to ensure another Government agency, the Censor’s Office, won’t prevent it from being screened, but after the funding or rebate has been squandered?

And bordering on the bizarre – In the proposed script :
• 15 deaths are depicted in graphic detail, almost all of them named victims .
While “All of the people consulted were united in saying this script was worse than the livestream” – and as objectionable that may be – does it still not actually demean the enormity of the horror to show less than a third of those killed?
And if the movie is made and then banned here, will that not ensure an international box office better than normal promotion may achieve, and isn’t that some how even more despicably exploitative than the film concept already is?

I am perplexed that some of the same media that seem to be glorifying UFC (or whatever that prisonyard type scrapping sport is called) are those who worry about young people being injured in rugby matches. The object of the “sport”, and also boxing, seems to be to inflict maximum injury to their opponent. How come it is considered dangerous for young rugby players to be tackled.

  It’s not the act of tackling, but of head contact/damage that is significant. I think there are a couple of things that really speak to our lack of knowledge around the long cause of CTE. Is CTE caused by significant head damage, or is it caused by an accumulation of damage over time? Some combination of the two? What about sub-concussive injuries?
  
  I’ve read studies that show up to 1/5 boxers suffer from CTE, while 99% of NFL players examined in post mortems showed signs of CTE. My personal feeling after having played both rugby is that MMA can actually be more effectively managed in the long run.

    Agreed. It’s all about how much risk is perceived and therefore how that risk gets managed.
    
    With boxing and other combat sports, with heavy blows to the head being allowed and the potential for fighters to be knocked out, the high level of risk is blatantly obvious. As such concussion protocols have always been in place, and have only been getting stricter as we learn more about the long term consequences of repeated head trauma.
    
    On the other hand in American Football, my perception is that for a long time the protective gear players wore gave a false sense of safety. In particular the solid, padded helmets were assumed to protect the brain, so concussion (and especially the cumulative trauma that causes CTE) wasn’t considered as much of a concern.
    
    It’s telling that, despite their lack of protective headgear, rugby players actually seem to be less impacted by CTE than gridiron players. Without the protective helmets, officials were instead forced to change the rules around permitted tackling to minimise head impacts. In comparison NFL players are allowed to be much more aggressive – they can’t just directly use their helmet as a battering ram, but there’s still plenty of solid head on head collisions.

The police investigation only continues when Pike River Recovery Agency personnel are on site, the spokesperson [from Little’s office] said.

While this position may physically border on perpetual motion, in chess is it not called “stalemate” – where the player whose turn it is to move is not in check, but has no legal move. Supposedly the game ends as a draw.
But the question arose yesterday: Is the proposed “permanent sealing of Pike River mine” to be actually reversible? Or does that yet lead to just more fucking “perpetual emotion”?

Much of this is possibly malfunction in the grievance process, and after Government supposedly investing more than $1.9 million into the nation’s mental health, this is a prime example of their having no clue as to what they are doing (actually: undoing).

Little’s decision against even assessing mine-workings entry when only one seventh of the way up the length of the drift (March 2020), rather than the Families’ expectation of actually looking at the composition of the roof falls when they were reached, was an act of utter ill-judgement in timing and sensitivity that has turned a near $50 million action of acceptance and closure to a negative source of further supposed injustice, dishonesty and in-transparency.

It worries me that Little is Minister responsible for Pike River Re-entry, as well as Minister of Health, particularly mental health.

If it took a goal to win no matter how long, different sides would be selected and most importantly an attacking attitude would be a requirement from beginning to end. I wonder if you would be kind enough to explain to me (and to the many other New Zealanders who would be interested in your answer) where you found reference to “partnership”, or any synonym of “partnership”, in any version of the Treaty.
    
    I understand from Dr Michael Bassett (a member of the Waitangi Tribunal for a decade, a highly regarded New Zealand historian, and of course a long-time Labour Member of Parliament) that when he was on the Tribunal the translation of the Treaty which was generally accepted was that by Sir Hugh Kawharu. Sir Hugh translated the three clauses of the Treaty thus:
    
    … and copies the Sir Hugh Kawharu translation of the three Articles.
    
    As you can see, there is not the slightest reference to a “partnership”, and leading Labour politicians such as David Lange frequently ridiculed the very idea that Queen Victoria would have been willing to enter into a partnership with 500 chiefs, none of whom she had even met.

Very loud, very drunk, English football fans are all around Auckland’s viaduct at the moment. I high percentage of them are Maori/Polynesian. Funny that. I suppose they are Maori for the benefits and “English” as an excuse to be drunken football fans.

  Legally it’s going nowhere.
  
  I would say discovery would be a blast, but I expect these suits – if ever filed – will be dismissed by the Courts long before any discover takes place.
  
  Pity, I’d love to see Facebook et al proceed with the case, do discovery, win in court, and then counter-sue Trump for malicious prosecution and abuse of process.

Andreea Calude writes against use of the term, or perhaps concept, “native speaker”.

Language enthusiasts seek contact with native speakers, particularly when they’re studying on the internet. It hones pronunciation.

Calude, however, is talking “psycho-linguistics”. A link to the abstract of the paper she bases her article on shows what she and the like are on about:

“This paper problematizes NATIVE SPEAKER within psycholinguistics, arguing that the term is both unhelpful to rigorous theory construction and harmful to marginalized populations by reproducing normative assumptions about behavior, experience, and identity. We propose that language researchers avoid NATIVE SPEAKER altogether … ”

AND

“Given the issues above and how ‘nativeness’ is racialized (particularly in Europe and North American contexts), we ask that researchers consider carefully whether exclusion of marginalized/minoritized populations is necessary or justified — particularly when NATIVE SPEAKER is used only as a way to achieve linguistic homogeneity.

Sounds like psycho-linguistics (psychology plus linguistics) is another soft, or pseudo, science that’s been taken over by the Woke.

Surely Stuff isn’t publishing this hog-wash as part of its strategy of pushing Maori language?

Anyone recommend an outfit that isn’t buying into the bullshit? Thanks

She builds her argument steadily, then kicks down the pile of blocks with this:

That is rubbish. How was “free speech” used against Maori?

And Miles thinks Moana Jackson is authoritative on freedom of speech Moana Jackson, a Far-Left Maori activist, who, incidentally, is an uncle of Wily Willie Jackson, also an activist from the Far Left.

She also quotes Orwell’s Animal farm, when Orwell’s 1984 is more relevant to the sinister moves the Ardernists are taking against our freedom of speech.

As pointed out before, Donna’s genes from from Iran, whose name means “land of the Aryans”, and whose people are classified as white by the US Census bureau.

Donna is old enough to have grown out of radical political views.
