When are Labour and their Ministers going to stop defending the indefensible and admit the moment the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern got involved to fund the rehabilitation program Kahukura in Centra Hawkes Bay of $2.75
Million to the Organization running it that hold close links to the Mongrel Mob their was going to be a uproar and anyone with any sense should have known the moment the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern got involved and agreed to fund this program it was wrong and had double standards, but as usual its every body else’s fault and never Jacinda Ardern’s.

      I just walked into the room and saw the face of Jack Tame and stopped to look.
      Thought, by his very pained expression, that something really big must have happened like his beloved Jacinda resigning – or something.
      That rascal Harry though – yep I’d be happy to invest a couple of $mil in him all right – no questions asked!

Was the 2020 US presidential election stolen? Here are the findings from the Arizona audit, Maricopa County. Source – OAN network, Instagram account, Friday 16th of July.
– 74,243 more mail ballots received than mailed
– 11,000 voters added to the roles after election day that cast ballot in 2020
– 18,000 voters were dropped from the rolls following the election
– election server was hacked during the election
– remote access was available
– all access logs to the machines were wiped in March 2021
– original and duplicate ballots were not properly marked with serial numbers and cannot be verified. There is no way of knowing how many times a ballot was duplicated.
– the number of votes certified does not match the number of ballots sent to the audit.

Unfortunately it’s hard to find reporting on this because the mainstream media is happy that Trump has gone and Biden is president. But there is a lot of evidence building up that the result of the 2020 election is highly questionable!?

      There are actually 4 firms involved in the Audit.
      They are tasked with scanning and manually recounting the votes.
      
      So if you havent counted a vote before. Then Batman would say you are not qualified.
      I think most rational thinking people would say bollocks to that.
      How many people hired for election night counting were not “experienced” and partisan.
      
      Loved the throw away line about could not open a file so called it hacked. Got a reference for that then have we?
      
      My logical brain says there will have been some screw ups in 2.1 million votes.
      But all the “”officials”” say there were no irregularities.????
      
      The political division is rife in the world.
      So what ever the truth of electioneering the “wronged” side of the argument will declare it was all dodgy.
      
      Sort of like NZ, when the PM tells porkies, her supporters just dismiss that as a minor media mistake and that she continues to walk on water.
      (in my personal view, the media pendulum, is starting to swing from Jacinda positive to Jacinda negative. Well Labour Government anyway.)
      
      So today when a retired mate of mine was complaining about the price of tomatoes I gently reminded him that he voted for it!

  Try explaining the cyber enhancements to the ballot process where votes were re-allocated by computers in China and elsewhere from Trump to Biden.
  
  The USA intelligence had used similar practices and being aware set up a trap on election night to record it all. They have the info right down to the computer motherboard ID’s on each end of the transactions.

    There was a parallel IT audit done alongside the ballot audit. Actually this was the second IT audit, as Maricopa County also did one.

  And in Georgia citizen review of scanned ballots from the bullshit official ‘risk limiting audit’ performed by apparently compromised election officials has so far found about 4000 votes were ‘erroneously’ added to Biden’s tally. This is from less than 10% of total Georgia votes looked at so far.
  
  And that is without accounting for any of the 10’s of thousands of illegal votes cast (likely to have favoured Biden heavily).
  
  Biden only ‘won’ Georgia by 11700. Seems highly likely that Trump in fact won Georgia.

We should ‘take to the world’ “te ao Māori, with principles such as kaitiakitanga”.

New Zealand does not much register in the world. And you won’t find anyone interested in kaitiakitanga. In fact 95 percent of New Zealanders would not know what that term means.

She also says that we should be applying a Maori view of the world to “our businesses”. There is no our businesses. I won’t be applying these Maori principles to my business. Because it would be absurd.

IMO everything in this opinion piece is a fiction. A fantasy divorced from the reality of New Zealand, let alone the world…

And this person shares a platform with the Prime Minister. And apparantly this is an example of the “Treaty driven” Foreign policy that is being promoted by the current Foreign Minister.

Sadly National is missing in action. The Opposition should come out strongly and call this out for the nonsense it is.

        Karakia are not innocuous. Calling on any foreign spirit is highly dangerous as you have effectively given it permission to take you over. You don’t have to believe in such either, it’s the participation that counts. They hide behind deceit and can cause severe mental disturbance.
        I won’t go into all the details. I have had to deal with them after getting a little enthusiastic in removing some. I have subsequently been involved in ministry.
        
        There is more unseen in this world than we can imagine. The simple acceptance and worship of our triune creator God as revealed in Jesus Christ is both proper and rewarding.

  It made it very easy for me to see that you have, caused I suspect by your racism towards Maori and Pacifica, as usual quoted but one part of an article that points out how we stand out in and are different from many other nations in the Indo-Pacific.

  NZ, and NZers, has had a reputation on the world stage as ‘honest brokers’, and ‘straight shooters’ since before the First World War and particularly since. I don’t believe there was much in evidence of kaitiakitanga nor Te ao Maori in the legion of examples of post war trade rounds and negotiations, UN peace negotiations and settlements, UN Security Council negotiations and resolutions and the like where NZers participated and punched above their weight in.
  
  The author also neglected to mention that no single force in world history has brought more international connectedness and goodwill than has free enterprise and free trade. You’d think we have been living in a hermit kingdom for the last few centuries until Allbirds came along recently.

    The giant statues of Easter Island haven’t done much for modern-day Easter Islanders.
    
    People go into dangerous parts of Africa to get a glimpse of a gorilla in the wild, but who goes to the Congo Republic to look at the culture of the Pygmy peoples.
    
    If they do go to the Congo what they will most likely see are little Pygmy people who are hereditary slaves of Bantu people.

  If Ms Jalil wants her business to stay relevant in Aotearoa, then she has to integrate some Maoritanga into her reports and submissions.
  
  At least Ms Jalil has a wider perspective of NZ’s multicultural background than many opinion piece writers… and she makes a decent argument for ensuring that other voices are heard.
  
  Another asset we shouldn’t overlook is the quarter of our population who weren’t born in New Zealand. Our migrant community provides a wealth of international knowledge and connections, and the ability to amplify New Zealand stories offshore.

I heard a story about Housing New Zealand yesterday. From a guy who I know is reliable and in a position to know these facts first hand.

Apparantly the government has directed Housing New Zealand to not evict tenants under any circumstances. So what are many doing? Stop paying rent. Tenants are tens of thousands of dollars in debt. They can’t be touched.

One story he told was amazing. There is a couple who have not paid rent on their state house for years. They owed tens of thousands of dollars. Tenancy manager goes around and notices a brand new SUV in the driveway. Questions the tenant.

Finally tenant comes clean and explains that they could not pay the rent on their state house because they needed the money for “the new house we are building”.

        Onya Benedict. Your timely admission of error stands you in good light. Might I just observe that your rush to relay this story, while it may have elements of truth, does nobody a service. It’s often the case that a story has two sides and we sure don’t know them from your telling.
        
        What we do know is there are some usual suspects that use tales such as yours as cover for their general observations of others failings based on their race or economic circumstance. ‘They’ are thieves and ‘they’ abuse ‘our’ generosity. Nearly always directed at ‘others’. The undefined they is the mother of bigotry.
        
        True, people can be pretty low, even wicked. Some neglect their partners, or kids or animals and believe themselves good upstanding blokes/gals. Others hide their tax responsibilities or target the state’s welfare system. Each robs us all.
        
        Experience tells us there are no universally good or bad types be they locals or immigrants or Maori or Pakeha, townies or rural folk, rich or poor.
        
        What is all too common is the need to depict others in such a way as to stoke prejudice and feed the ‘they’.
        
        If your story has merit it deserves a mention to someone with the ability to investigate and act. I believe there are numbers you can call, your MP will listen. Of course if you didn’t want to mention it you wouldn’t have.
        
        Oh, and anytime your story involves ‘apparently the government…’ there will be a way to find out. Questions to the relevant department or even in parliament if that’s what it takes. It would save having to use an ‘it could be true, I’ll leave it up to you to decide’ as a pillar of the story. That just invites the reader to fill the blanks with what best confirms their prejudice.

    Presumably, by “incredible” you mean that no credence whatsoever can be put on the report and it should be dismissed out of hand. Is that based on an objective assessment or is that based on your built-in bias which enables you to determine credibility without further thought or information?
    What would you say if I reported that some years ago, a family, long-term beneficiaries, drew $1000 per week in benefits, received additional grants totaling $30,000 and managed to get a grant in order to fence a swimming pool at one of several properties that they owned and to put new tires on a two year old silver Chrysler saloon?
    
    Would you scoff at that and say that it is incredible?
    
    If not, why is Benedict’s example any less credible?

Doesn’t work, pulls in over $1,000 per week in benefits, is over $60,000 in debt to WINZ for food grants, and whatever she decides she needs etc, runs around in a late model Range Rover Sport, has WINZ pay for new tyres and flys around the country at will for weekends with friends.
      
      Having worked hard all our lives we find it hard to stomach as she definitely was not bought up to leech on society in such a way. But it is so easy to do with no consequences.
      
      So yes, there is no reason Benedict is not correct.

  As at 30 April this year 760 public housing tenants were paying market rent, almost all in state housing and a few in community housing. The household income* was sufficient for no taxpayer subsidy.
  
  National had a policy to formally review tenancies with market renters top of the list. Hundreds were moved on, into private rentals or home ownership.
  
  Labour cancelled the reviews, possibly a few exemptions they could not ignore. Like those moved from public housing into motels (for a while).
  
  * Household income is not always accurately reported. Trust me on this.

According to a source from within MSD, staff has been told not to investigate benefit fraud, but to focus on Covid-19 payments instead. This has been confirmed by senior staff at MSD’s Head Office.
  
  This government has promoted a culture where there are no consequences for not complying with the rules, in order to appease unions, the Greens and beneficiary activist groups. Is it any wonder that respect for Police, for nurses, for teachers and for others in positions of authority is at such low levels?

The Productivity Commission wants to hear from the public about where it should focus inquiry on ensuring everyone gets a fair chance in life.
It’s been tasked by the Government with looking at how to break the cycle of persistent disadvantage and is seeking feedback on its terms of reference. Another Labour party stooge, Productively Commission Chair Gavesh Nana said many people were working hard on finding solutions to disadvantage – both in Government and out in the community- and the Commission wanted to make sure its work added Value.
More Corporate welfare to those on the Commission with this inquiry running through until November 2022.

    I’d suggest that this commission are going to find that people who are not disadvantaged (because they are clever, probably educated, take personal responsibility for themselves, make good decisions etc) have to pay way more to help the disadvantaged be more advantaged.

12. DIA [Department of Internal Affairs] heard that it needs to ensure tangata whenua are embedded as Treaty Partners from the very start, including mana whenua representation at every table, on boards and anywhere decisions will be made. It is important DIA alongside iwi, hapū and Māori work through rights, interests and entity ownership and governance, so the Department can identify the roles and responsibilities of all, as Treaty Partners, at these levels.

Protection
20. Iwi also made many calls for protection of their rights, roles and responsibilities as tangata whenua. Iwi, hapū and Māori noted that they don’t want to see Taumata Arowai issuing permits to their wai. They want to see protection around their cultural assets, and how the service delivery arrangements will provide this.

25. An iwi attendee in Palmerston North noted that a rural marae in their rohe needs a waste water plant but has had to close because it can’t afford to invest in this. In support of this, there were calls for equitable registration fees from Taumata Arowai and for marae and papakāinga to have minimal, or preferably nil, fees. The new water services entities must also be designed in a way that enables better access to water services for rural/isolated marae and papakāinga that wish to be connected to these services.

26. In relation to entity design, they do not want to see catchments broken. There was a strong preference to adhere to the ‘ki uta ki tai’ [mountains to the sea] concept and ensure that the entity boundaries take this into account. Additionally, iwi, hapū and Māori do not want their whakapapa/iwi/hapū boundaries to be separated by the new entities.

Willie Jackson, after six months of consultation on whatever version of He Puapua he is touting to Maori “stakeholders”, will have a “national conversation” with the remainder majority of the country sometime next bloody year, but with “3 Waters” it seems the Hui-ā-Motu (discussion with Maori) has already happened. Next they appear to be bribing 67 different councils, who are supposed to be acting in the interests of the ratepayers they are meant to represent, but the order is: Maori “stakeholders, councils and then ordinary New Zealanders – if they get around to us.

And – With $1.5bn already allocated to the Three Waters Reform program, prime minister Jacinda Ardern said on Thursday that councils would be given $500m to cushion extra costs and another $2bn for future investment. – Guardian

So that is $ 4 billion already, not just the $2.5 billion many media headlines quote.

Is Ardern the dimmest PM ever? She is very average in the brains department and a closed adult life. Some people have the academic smarts others are street smart. Think NZ has had a mix of the two over the years. The best combination is brains and street smart. Think John Key, not an academic but he had brains and was street smart.

But Ardern she is just plain dim. Anyone worse?

  Tough quesion Simon. Kirk, Rowling, Lange, Palmer, Moore, Clark were bright.
  Goff wasn’t the sharpest. Nope, I’d say that Ardern was the dumbest and the worst Prime Minister in my lifetime to date (Holyoake to Ardern). But never lose sight of the fact that everything is now dumbed down to sound bites and photo shoots. Woman with baby, woman with kindy kids, woman with furry pet, woman with soft toy, woman in designer frock etc. But hey, in due course, the reality of the situation will catch up with those that thought it was a good idea to vote for her, and their misery will be real. And no amount of feeling bad, sad faces or whining will help them. Karma is a bitch.

I remember when

Monday is “Freedom Day” in the UK.
Dr Helen Petousis-Harris says it grants a term of short-term freedom there, but is likely to extend the long-term sentence for the rest of the world.
The UK is pushing ahead despite loud and informed opposition from scientific and medical experts.
So what is the point in vaccination and why do the entire population of the world need to receive it?
What new and innovative ideas do the scientific and medical experts have?
When are they going to advise the rest of us about what they are and when they will happen?

      That’s because a large number are under age, and I’m not sure of the ethics of vaccinating a population whose risk from the vaccine is at least as high as from the virus, and because many others have refused, for religious, cultural or political reasons. Every adult Brit has been offered a vaccination. What more can you do? Sit around and wait for something that will never happen, or get on with life? I’ll be fucked if I am giving up my freedom to preserve some anti-vaxxer from the consequences of their decision, nor would I expect them to ask me to do so.

Just 20% of the group called themselves Republican with an additional 19% being independents who leaned Republican. The clear majority (61%) were not Republicans (41% said they were Democrats or Democratic leaning independents and 20% were either pure independents or undesignated).

That’s because the vaccine doesn’t stop you getting the virus, but is very successful at stopping yo getting sick and dying, and when most of the population is vaccinated, then of course there will be positives among the vaccinated

  I don’t know about elsewhere in NZ, but the diary farmers around Mid/South Canterbury use a lot of expat Filipino workers.
  From what I’ve been told some of the accommodation is not too flash and the money is marginal.
  Of course it depends a lot on the farmer.

  On a trip to various parts of Europe in 2015 and spending a fair bit of time in bars and restaurants mingling with the locals, it became apparent that Europeans have been fed a lot of “climate change” and “welcome refugees” propaganda by the EU. I heard on the TV a mayor of some town in Germany and one of his constituents saying to the media that the recent flooding was caused by “man made climate change”.
  We are being lied to so often that the lies are now taken as truth.

Phillip Sherry has passed away aged 87. That so old school English voice of his when reading the news on tv divided some Kiwis on whether broadcasters should stop sounding like BBC clones and instead speak in their own lingo.

I like him but he wouldn’t get a job today on our tv news sounding like that.

Simon Dallow speaks well but is so stupidly woke I refuse to watch him. Moron is the word that fits. Anyone who calls an Australian by the name of Andrew, Anaru, is beyond the pale.

    The Crown’s Maori Language Strategy has set some pretty optimistic goals, such as having one million Kiwis speaking Maori by 2040. The proponents of the strategy have a vision where the Maori language has been normalised, is valued by all New Zealanders and considered a vital part of our culture. In their dreams, they see a future where Maori is spoken by children as they play, by you and I as we work, in the sporting arenas and shopping malls, where you will be able to sit down at any restaurant in New Zealand and order a meal in te reo Māori, or rock up to Bunnings and happily chat away to the staff in Maori as you discuss the merits of the various hammer drills on offer.
    
    Or, as the Crown’s Strategy for Māori Language Revitalisation, 2019–2023, puts it:
    
    Te reo Māori is an inherent part of New Zealand’s national identity, to be valued and used by wider Aotearoa New Zealand. Kia māhorahora te reo is the Crown’s vision, which expresses its role to ensure that New Zealanders use, learn and value te reo Māori. When this vision is achieved we expect that te reo Māori is a normal part of daily life for wider Aotearoa New Zealand where te reo is used by everyone, every day, every way and everywhere.
    
    And they are prepared to weigh in with some pretty serious resources and weight in order to achieve these lofty goals. They have made it very clear that broadcasters are expected to promote the Maori Language, and that the public sector is ‘expected’ (read ‘required – you WILL do this’) to actively increase the number of te reo Māori speakers in the public sector.
    
    As a state-owned broadcaster, you can bet that TVNZ will have been directed to substantially increase their use of Maori in their programming, and this will have been passed down to the presenters. They will have been told that they will be looked upon so much more favourably in reviews if they make a habit of using Maori in their reporting – in other words, your days are numbered if you don’t.

      As I wrote above, Flossie, I think you can count on Mr Dallow’s employers having made their expectations very clear … and they themselves will have had the ‘vision for the future’ explained to them by the minister.
      
      The Government believes it has a responsibility to ensure that New Zealanders use, learn and value te reo Māori, and furthermore expects that te reo Māori will become a normal part of daily life for the country where:
      
      te reo is used by everyone, every day, every way and everywhere.
      
      And one of the most important tools in any Government’s arsenal in imposing their vision on the citizens is state broadcasting.

  Later news readers often by smirks or tones added their own views.
  
  Sherry’s Received Pronunciation British English was very clear, but a little clipped. From this, one satiric columnist referred to him as Pip Sherry.

The Right Watchman

The Government has issued the initial $9.6 million portion of its $55 million Public Interest Journalism Fund – Māori projects at the forefront of the package, with major media players announced to receive the bulk of funding.
It was in February that Broadcasting Minister Kris Faafoi announced the three-year fund to ‘support democracy and ensure New Zealanders had access to trusted information’, sparking fears of political bias and the potential erasure of independent journalism.
NZME, Māori Television, Newshub and Pacific Media Network are expected to receive $2.4 million solely for the employment and training of ‘diverse’ journalists, with NZ on Air stating that 40% of funding would be allocated to Māori.
Newsroom, a source which has historically boasted independence, in addition to Stuff, with both receive approximately half-a-million for a podcast series.
Two podcast series will also receive funding in their telling of stories of ‘radical’ and ‘anarchic’ feminists, in addition to discussing the importance of ‘social change’ in New Zealand.

The next round of funding will be to specific roles within the sector, with applications due to close Thursday.

For the last few years folks in in Westport have been warned of the flood danger from an overgrown and poorly maintained overflow channel and a gravel-filled river bed and lack of decent stop banks.

Council chief executive Mike Meehan said the working group had not yet decided on “the nitty gritty” solutions to the threat of the Buller River, but had discussed building more stopbanks or digging out more gravel.

    If you live on the West Coast of the South Island and there’s a river nearby, you have to accept that the river will periodically burst its banks. That’s what happens to rivers in an area of high rainfall.
    
    As for Westport, not only is the Buller River’s watershed extensive by New Zealand’s standards, a massive amount of water falls into its catchment area. Given the fact that Westport is a low-lying town about 4 metres above sea level clinging to the right bank of the Buller, I am surprised the town has not flooded more often than it has!

Straight from the front lines of the struggle of the Cultural Revolution we have a report in the Ferald , behind a pay wall, that Maori in Counties Manukau are way below target for childhood measles vaccinations due to barrier to immunisation was an “inherently racist,failing and culturally incompetent ” health system.

Health workers are to be trained to counter “cultural microaggressions ,white privelige ,stereotyping and prejudice”.

Plunkett were the provider , it’s been taken from them till by year end “all Plunkett staff are expected to have completed ‘being a better Treaty partner’, the training to cover the impacts of colonisation , implicit bias ,racism and privelige’.

Plunkett says ” we are absolutely committed to addressing unconscious attitudes and uninformed beliefs among our staff. We are changing how we work with whanau Maori to acknowledge the inequities , bias and racism Maori have experienced right across the health system. Like most organisations we know we still have a lot to do”.

One hopes that Stalinist style self criticism will help keep them out of a prolonged stay at the gulag.

The other interesting thing is the graph that accompanies the story .

  Maori are being deluded by their own activists. At least Pakeha children in the past were well cared for by Plunket. The notion that all mothers were expected to be part of the go-out-to-work group has put wrongful pressure on many.
  
  Maori have the ability to create their own child care groups but the govt no longer approves of any but what the Ministry promotes. As they are all hui and no doi we will wait for ever while they spend their pay credits.

  It certainly wouldn’t be fair to suggest that he was “nothing more than a harmful eugenicist white supremacist”. But the fact he was apparently ahead of his time in matters of infant welfare doesn’t mean he might not have harboured some other deeply unpleasant traits. I imagine the person making the claim has information about Truby King that makes their position seem fair to them.
  
  In a similar vein, there are many in the south of the US who revere General Lee and Stonewall Jackson. It matters only to them that they were, for a time, successful in military operations against the armies of the United States. These people choose to ignore that those generals took up arms in defence of the southern states ‘right’ to maintain their slave based economy.   I was once an auditor of a local Plunket Society branch. They filled a very useful role. The Plunket Nurses were a mine of knowledge and gave practical care and re-assurance to many mothers both new and old. The Nurses themselves were widely experienced and a range of ages.
  
  They also brought the mothers together too and those groups were a highlight of my late wife’s life. Mental health for mothers is most important and Plunket filled that enormous hole. It was cheap at any cost. I’m sure other ethnic communities could have modified such a model for their own use. It was only basically care and love being worked out.
  
  The beliefs of Truby King are irrelevant. He brought practical medicines to those in need. Plunket remedies were excellent.

Have a look at this Herald article about low Maori measles vaccination rates. It states “a review concluded the barrier to immunisation is an “inherently racist, failing and culturally incompetent” health system.” and conclude the solution is to “recommended health workers get training to counter “cultural microaggressions, white privilege, stereotyping and prejudice”.
Amazing and no talk of personal responsibility for their children. There is also a graph showing high Asion rates of vaccinating and Maori vaccination rates dropping during covid, so not a racist problem and also fairly recent that Maori vax rates have dropped.

I doubt our MoH has even heard of it.

It’s a monoclonal antibody therapy that has recently received EUA clearance from the FDA as a treatment in mild to moderate COVID in high risk adults and pediatric patients.

Its a rather cool antibody therapy in that it derives from sophisticated deep mutational scanning of antibody binding sites that could be effective across the multiple variant mutations that coronaviruses undergo. In essence, they mapped where most of the mutations that escape antibody binding occur (and thus allow the virus to keep reproducing) and went searching for existing antibodies that resist this viral escape.

They found one, S2E12, that neutralises multiple SARS-COV-2 variants (including DELTA) and formed the basis for their PhIII COMET-ICE trial.

Very cool stuff and cause for optimism, if only we had an MoH that could read.

    My partner sells a number of luxury vehicles on TM and has a policy of never answering a question if they haven’t already placed a bid.
    He reckons you can pretty much judge from the tone of the question, their location, and what they’ve bought previously, whether they are just time-wasting plebs.
    The silly thing is though, TM have the annoying policy of displaying ALL the questions whether you answer them or not….which can be a bit upsetting!
    Although often he goes in and asks some ridiculous questions if he sees someone else listing a similar vehicle to his. LOL!!

    @OTGO… Similar story. Car listed with plenty of decent photos on TradeMe/ phone call/ money transferred, sold for good money (full price). I was in mid North Island, buyer was from deep South island. Purchasers rellie turned up a week later and drove the car back. About a 1400 kms one way trip.

Alternatively, the listing is poorly written and a question needs to be asked for clarity. I rarely go there but frequently when doing so, find information missing to fully describe the product including the obvious such as the model of the item.

Scott Morrison’s approval ratings as Prime Minister have fallen because of Australian’s low Covid-19 vaccination rate.

According to a web tracker (second link below), New Zealand is at 11.6 per cent of the population fully vaccinated, and Australia is at 11 per cent.

Barely ahead of Australia.

Two university “experts” say that $1 billion could be raised by taxing the value of homes at the rate of term deposits in a bank. The first $1 million dollars of value would be exempt for your own home.

So this tax would be annually and in addition to your rates bill.

Does anyone think that there might be a few problems with this idea?

a) Rents will go up hugely.

b) Retired people with only super as an income will have serious financial problems.

c) The bank of Mom and Dad are going to have problems helping their kids get into a home,

d) How will this actually help those wanting to buy a house?

e) What happens to the incentive to work hard and get ahead financially?

This is a stupid idea in my opinion.

  I must confess to having a bit of a raised eyebrow when I read the story. What i thought was interesting was the PWC partner offering CGT as an alternative – almost like a least worst option. Wonder if this has already got some buy in and it’s being tested? Can see the attraction for labour – lose complete control of the housing market and tax the rampant inflation caused. What could possibly go wrong? Dress the tax up as a levy, and redistribution from wealthy speculators? Could be an easy sell with MSM support.
  
  Worrying thing is this ‘no regard for consequences’ policy is exactly how they went about their last change to the market – and although relatively early days, that didn’t really work out as intended!
  
  Doubt they’d be that stupid to do this but they do seem to like testing themselves as to how stupid they can actually be – the ultimate ‘hold my beer’ challenge I guess!
