So this morning David Shearer woke up from a nightmare that lasted 21 months. He will feel as tho the weight of the world is off his shoulders and will be able to put his suit jacket on without fear of it being ruined by yet another knife being stuck in his back.
A nice bloke, far too nice to hold that mob together.
Shearer must be regretting his decision to enter politics. I thought his position yesterday (that he felt he lacked the support of his caucus colleagues) could be interpreted as “they didn’t stand by me”. The problem with that position, of course, is that the public didn’t rate him either. No doubt Shearer will find a career after politics – but if I were him I wouldn’t want epithets like “Captain Mumblef##k” to be scattered across the Internet. Google will most definitely not be his best friend.
Listening to all the talk about Shearer the most sensible thing I heard was from The PM: “Shearer is a nice bloke, but his problem is that Labour is divided”
Lastnight on parliament they were hammering “supply side” (house prices) with a capital gains tax snapper, convieniently forgetting we once had an immigration policy which protected NZ residents.
Shearer Quotes: It was on that basis that I felt Shearer’s election was a failure. Helen got the nod and it was a big deal that it went to a woman. Then it reverted to a physically capable, heterosexual, white, educated and wealthy male. Yipdee fucking shit.
And we struggle to even begin the process of developing an active and inclusive multiculturalism. http://publicaddress.net/speaker/what-diversity-dividend/
Shearer made it crystal clear not long ago that “Labour is the party for workers”. Labour is not interested in doing anything about the ever-increasing underclass in New Zealand. Ask Shearer whether he’d support putting the words “participation in the community” back into MSD’s mission statement and he’d look at you as if you were from another planet. http://thestandard.org.nz/shearers-pre-budget-speech/
What the audience gathered at the Hornby Working Men’s Club deserved to hear from Shearer was an acknowledgement that Labour’s challenges are specific and immediate. To raise incomes by re-empowering working people and redistributing wealth.
To make New Zealand a place where the diversity of its population is a source of strength and pride, not an opportunity for mistrust and division. To create a community of values, where loyalty is owed not to flags – but to principles. http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/opinion/columnists/chris-trotter/7849085/Without-immigrants-economy-would-stall
If G.W. Bush Had a Son, He’d Look Like Christopher Lane.
Unlike Trayvon Martin, Christopher Lane doesn’t have powerful, race-baiting allies in the Oval Office, Justice Department, media, and entertainment industry.
Imagine the Left’s reaction if the shocking, inter-racial murder of Christopher Lane had occurred when G.W Bush was president and he had stated, “If I had a son, he’d look like Christopher,” or “Christopher Lane could’ve been me 35 years ago.”
Undoubtedly, the race-peddlers and entire grievance industry would’ve interpreted his comments as a subtle war declaration against Black America.
Yet, when President Obama made these statements about Trayvon Martin, the Lefties claimed that he wasn’t being divisive, he was simply “keepin’ it real.”
In fact, this generic tweet from Jesse Jackson, which was likely written by his public relations aides, is all that Chris Lane’s parents are likely to receive. It stated, “Praying for the family of Chris Lane. This violence is frowned upon and the justice system must prevail.” Apparently, the deepest emotion that this so-called human rights activist was able to muster for Chris Lane was a figurative frown. This guy is such a phony!
Stupid headline for DomPost: “Man dies after gunshots heard”
Wow those must be some pretty impressive gunshots if they can kill someone just by being heard.
Maybe a small influence from actually being SHOT by them?
It has to be Cunliffe – he would be best for New Zealand as Labour’s leader – really.
He will also not put up with Robertson’s duplicity, and will soon be his own leader not awaiting being stabbed in the back by Robertson. Even Franny Fanny might still have a job with Cunliffe, but not Robertson – he saw her off last time.
With Cunliffe in the lead Robertson will be seeking another job – but of course he has never had one yet other than on the Public Tit.
Remember who original backed Cunliffe then jumped to the much weaker Shearer at the last moment – he could control Shearer as he has done.
Sorry David – you were not a greedy cruel Homosexual, Trade Unionist, left wing enough person to be Labour’s leader.
Good luck – I hear they are already fighting over your seat – two in the row at present – Little and Little Adern Pony. Others will soon put their hands up, and for Rongotai as Annette will not stand at the next election.
Should be some great shit fights to come.
I love this ‘nice guy’ rubbish. It’s like saying of a plain woman “she has a lovely complexion”. In fact that was often said of Helen Clark.
The truth is the guy was hopeless. He failed how many times – three or four?- to get a party nomination, he got the leader’s job because of a squabbling party and he lacked any kind of leadership skills, charisma, decisiveness, even eloquence.
So now John Key has the fun of seeing off his fourth Labour leader!
Labor now will lurch further to the left with their moon bat theory that 800,000 voters stayed home last election because Labour wasnt left wing enough. This is how fucked up they are. This will please the soft left National government.
Next election its going to be the lenin marxists vs the hard core socical democrats. Either way for NZ this means a dog eat dog society.
Question Time in the House yesterday revealed a unique event – a serious and relevent question was asked, and a considered and useful reply was delivered.
Who were involved? None other than Dennis O’Rourke and Stephen Joyce. Mr O’Rourke asked a relevent question about Air New Zealand applying for permission to recruit airline pilots from overseas, and why were NZ applicants not sufficient, and followed up with several supplementary questions to clarify and focus the replies by Mr Joyce.
I would never support NZF in the polls, but credit where credit is due, the proper use of question time and reply with a informative content. Well done these two. Please, could other MP’s take note, and start acting this way – less of the “when did you stop beating your wife” type of question, and more value for the taxpayer and democracy. I’m talking to you too Annette King.
Why is Pete George taking the piss out of traitor Bradley Manning, surely a man who dresses up as a woman would appeal to PG’s anti man ideology as well as fitting in with the soft left’s ideal of diversity? This is what we are encouraged by our betters to celebrate.
In fact taxpayers should pay for Mannings “gender reassignment” and we could even offer him asylum from the obnoxious oppressive Americans……..
It is now Bradley Womanning (although it was well known already).
Yes, he now wants to be known as “Chelsea” but the Army says they won’t be paying for any hormone treatements.
(CNN) — “I am Chelsea Manning.”
With those words, read from a statement on NBC’s “Today” on Thursday, Bradley Manning immediately shifted public conversation away from the Army private’s conviction on espionage charges to gender identity.
“As I transition into this next phase of my life, I want everyone to know the real me,” Manning said in the statement. “I am Chelsea Manning. I am a female. Given the way that I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. I hope that you will support me in this transition.”
While his supporters may back Manning, the Army said Thursday it won’t.
“The Army does not provide hormone therapy or sex-reassignment surgery,” Lt. Col. Justin Platt told CNN Thursday.
“Burns had first-hand experience with Right Wing Resistance last year when Chapman and a balaclava-wearing cohort crashed an electoral candidates’ meeting on Worcester St.
“My first thought was, ‘What on earth is going on’?,” Burns said. “When Chapman began his monologue it was clear what he was trying to do.”
Chapman was complaining about not being listened to.
“It was designed to intimidate and I think that’s what they are about,” Burns said.
“There is not a big movement for them but, from time to time, issues may flare up that feed their support.”
Massey University sociologist Paul Spoonley began his research into extreme right wing groups in the early 1980s and was always puzzled as to why so many of them were based in Christchurch. He explained it by saying our “most English of cities had a strong sense of attachment and tradition … but it also harboured some groups that took these attachments to an extreme”.
By the 1990s, Spoonley said, these groups had become established in a number of gangs that were marked by their use of Nazi ideology and symbols. A group like the Fourth Reich, established in Paparua prison, was a case in point, he said.
Most members tended to be young, male, disaffected and involved in criminal activities.
“Christchurch continues to have the dubious honour of being the home to the largest number of extremist and white supremacist individuals and groups in New Zealand, a tradition that is now more than 30 years old.”
The skin heads represent a dummies response to population policies but having said that neither commentator is prepared to admit that the skin heads may have a point and genuine fears about generously opening the door to the rest of the world. What Spoonley needs to do is give a rousing “diversity dividend” speech…. but what the one-eyed Spoonley sees and what they see may be different. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/6673662/White-power-movement-delivers-warning
So, the Muslims are holding a ‘Million Muslim March” on Sept 11th to complain about some imagined inequality that Muslims have in the US. So, bikers are doing a two million biker counter protest.
Muslims who have begun promoting a 9/11 march in Washington that originally was to protest “anti-Islamic bigotry in the U.S.” and then turned into a “March Against Fear” may have some competition.
Loud competition. Very loud. And lots of it.
In what was a virtual impossibility before the Internet, a Facebook page has been created in which many individuals are coordinating what they have dubbed “2 Million Bikers to DC.”
At the Mr. Conservative blog, the author said: “The best way to counter bad speech is to oppose it with good speech. Sometimes ‘speech’ can be expressed simply by the number of people who are willing to show up to support a principle. That’s the view that hundreds of bikers (so far) across American have as they prepare to join a ’2 Million Biker Ride to DC’ to counter the planned Sept. 11 ‘Million Muslim March.’”
On the Facebook page, the community purpose is described as: “To honor those who were killed on 911 and our armed forces who fought those who precipitated this attack!”
More than 16,000 “likes” had been generated in just a short time.
“We have now created the final phase for states to coordinate! All riders need to look at the state list, choose your state and request to be added! Several states still need coordinators,” is included in the instructions.
The Washington Post has run 12 birther stories on Ted Cruz in two days. Over the 6 year period of Obama’s time in power, they’ve run 8 stories on his probable birth in Kenya.
Its Sarah Palin all over again, with the communist media doing all they can to destroy a presidential candidate who has the real ability to lead the country away from communism.
“The liberal media are obsessed with Texas’s freshman senator Ted Cruz. The most recent outbreak includes a Daily Beast hit piece about his “creepy” college years at Princeton, as well as a flurry of articles about whether his Canadian-American dual citizenship could complicate a potential run for the White House in 2016.
The Left’s animosity toward Cruz is approaching hysterical levels not seen since John McCain chose Sarah Palin as a running mate. His oratorical prowess and Ivy League pedigree have stunned some liberals, whose natural instinct is to smear popular conservatives as anti-intellectual, but it hasn’t stopped a number of prominent journalists and politicians from hurling some rather deranged criticism. ”

“Er, no. You do know that oceans carry 90% of the earth’s surface heat content don’t you?”
Sure the oceans contain heat. We know this because we have the Argo buoy system measuring temps from the surface down to 700 m. Also Jason/Topex/Grace satellite series measuring surface temp and sea levels.
The surface has warmed slightly (and is now cooling?) but that probably has more to do with El Nino and Nina events moving water around.
The Buoys show no sign of heat being transferred from the surface to deep in the ocean. If it had , it would have been recorded.
So the “missing” heat is not in the ocean. Its also not being created in the troposphere either so looks like the mysterious hotspot doesn’t exist.
CO2 creating CAGW is a fail.
I have been giving Fonterra the benefit of doubt over their recent issues but I might have re-evaluate. They have made a new senior positon in their structure –Group Director Food Safety and Quality. Thats good.
But then he comes out with this ( and I’ll apologise now if he has been misquoted
“Fonterra’s name has taken another knock this week with a report out of China that in May, 42 tonnes of its whole milk powder was held up at the Chinese border over elevated nitrate levels.
But Palliser said the incident was “part of normal business”. Product that conformed under New Zealand tests had not conformed under another country’s, in this case, China’s, he said. There was “absolutely no food safety” issue, he said.”
This is exporting 101 — your product complies with the country you are selling no matter what NZ regs say. The guy is an idiot. The statement is so stupid it is bound to go around the Internet like wild fire.
Multiple different studies peer reviewed in the scientific literature give us our range of temperature series.
Best naoh giss are peer reviewed independent high standard scientific study’s of the global temperature.
The urban heat island effect is included in those adjustments as others are to legitimately done to homogenize the records.
A Watts has done us the great service of quantifying the uncorrupted stations by the urban heat island effect in comparison to the records as a whole. These show no significant divergence.
But you know all this you just have a mental problem.
Its called being a wingnut.
The UAH satellite temperature dataset, developed at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, attempts to infer the temperature of the atmosphere at various levels from satellite measurements of radiance.
It was one of the first global temperature datasets developed from satellite information and has been used as a tool for research since the 1990s. It has proved controversial as, previously, there were inconsistencies between the UAH dataset and surface measurements. Significant corrections during the late 1990s and the first decade of the 2000s, have resolved many of those differences.
The dataset is published by John Christy et al. and formerly jointly with Roy Spencer.
All three groups measuring temperatures of the troposphere show a warming trend. The U.S. Climate Change Science Program produced a study in April 2006 on this topic. Lead authors included John Christy of UAH and Ben Santer of Lawrence Livermore National Labs. The first page has this quote:
Previously reported discrepancies between the amount of warming near the surface and higher in the atmosphere have been used to challenge the reliability of climate models and the reality of human-induced global warming… This significant discrepancy no longer exists because errors in the satellite and radiosonde data have been identified and corrected. New data sets have also been developed that do not show such discrepancies.”
There are still some discrepancies between satellite measured temperatures in the tropics and those measured by radiosondes. Most researchers believe this difference is likely due to instrument errors.

I read the link to SKS. Full of theory but no observational evidence to back it up. If the oceans were warming the buoy’s would have measured the heat passing through. But they don’t.
But hey anytime soon that heat is just going to jump out of the ocean and yell “surprise!”
Rightnow has read all the links.
He knows the energy levels and trends in the oceans.
he knows as much as you or me or he is stupid
If you push hard enough he will acknowledge 1.2c as the inevitable effect of double co2.
He will then claim that this is the maximum possible so any mitigation is senseless.
He is a luke warmer due to an abhorrence of the proposed political solves but smart enough to understand outright denial is untenable.
“He will then claim that this is the maximum possible so any mitigation is senseless.”
Gee I’d love to see you back that up with evidence. My actual contention is the magnitude and sign of the feedbacks, but don’t let that get in the way of your narrative.
As I said he precedes to Luke Warm.
shall we point out that under 2.C is very unlikely.
All the models and evidence confirm a minimum warming close to 2°C for a doubling of atmospheric CO2 with a most likely value of 3°C and the potential to warm 4.5°C or even more. Even such a small rise would signal many damaging and highly disruptive changes to the environment. In this light, the arguments against reducing greenhouse gas emissions because of climate sensitivity are a form of gambling. A minority claim the climate is less sensitive than we think, the implication being we don’t need to do anything much about it. Others suggest that because we can’t tell for sure, we should wait and see.
Me personally odds of a 5% chance of fucking the future is to great let alone our present ninety percent plus gamble.
No comment on me pointing out how unreliable your satellites temperature measurements are .
Now you accuse me of lying.
Produce you proof or are you going to post the transient sensitivity again in confusion? http://www.nature.com/ngeo/journal/v1/n11/abs/ngeo337.htm
The Earth’s climate is changing rapidly as a result of anthropogenic carbon emissions, and damaging impacts are expected to increase with warming. To prevent these and limit long-term global surface warming to, for example, 2 °C, a level of stabilization or of peak atmospheric CO2 concentrations needs to be set. Climate sensitivity, the global equilibrium surface warming after a doubling of atmospheric CO2 concentration, can help with the translation of atmospheric CO2 levels to warming. Various observations favour a climate sensitivity value of about 3 °C, with a likely range of about 2–4.5 °C.

Allow me to repeat: a link To a wingnut blog
It is a matter of record that Steve Goddards accusations that the land-based record has had a huge false-warming trend added to it; and that’s on top of distortions created by the urban heat-island effect is unsubstantiated garbage that ignores the Independence of the different temperature series. The best study was created purely to answer the cry of bias from such sources That they continue the same litany is conformation of their dishonesty
Another blogger with a similar agenda A Watts in his attempts to isolate good stations unaffected by the urban heat island effect has provided confirmation of the robustness of the land based temperature records.
No warming for ex years

trend calculator http://www.skepticalscience.com/trend.php
Expend the data until you have enough points for a significant result is the skeptical way to approach trends not cherry pick start dates were data lies outside of the trend to bullshit with.
You dont like it when you are laughed at what else do you expect for continued stupidity respect?
So they found that the instruments on one of the satellites (UAH not the RSS one) needed some adjustment. They did the adjustment and now its fine.
So what? Isnt that what science is all about? Improving things as you learn more?
It doesn’t negate what they produce, in fact it enhances it. Besides I see nothing wrong with the results of the RSS satellite and their measurements screw the land based ones as well.
Shall we talk about the variance of your Land based Temp measurements. Check out the standards and especially the margin of error in the different classes.
Then read Wats link. You may learn something.
Lets see we present the temperature record and you quote a wingnut blogs and insist on starting any trend from the strongest el nino warming cycle last century. The temperatures recorded by man have a warming trend that can not be explained by anything but co2. Independent examination of other temperature induced changes collaborate the changing temperatures
Arctic ice melt. 14% decade
Wingnut blogs distract with the Antarctic ice expansion Which is. 1: Caused in part by the increase of fresh water from west antarctic ice caps melting. 2: Is at a rate 1/25 the loss of ice in the arctic at around 0.5% decade 3: The first satellite maped the sea ice edge in 1964 and an estimate of September sea ice extent for both the Arctic and the Antarctic has been generated According to the data, September Antarctic sea ice extent measured about 19.7 million square kilometers. http://nsidc.org/monthlyhighlights/2013/04/glimpses-of-sea-ice-past/ Far more than at present.
Past changes are studied to quantify the effects of known and quantifiable changes in the earths energy budget. these studies are blindly denied despite the logic inconsistency that if temperatures were warmer in the past it is going to be warmer as a result of what we do now. The hockey stick Has been confirmed by subsequent studies .
Simple physics gives us the energy imbalance caused by the change in the co2 level and in our green house blanket as it does with orbital changes or changes in the suns output Models also take into account all the other known factors that effect climate.
These models are being continually refined. We know far more than we did a decade ago let alone when this was first proposed in the seventy’s.
The more we find out the more certain we are of the effects of releasing the earths stored co2.
This is getting beyond a joke, yes its tragic that the Cathedral has been condemned but note to Jim and the fools representing the GCBT, YOU DO NOT OWN THE CATHEDRAL AND ITS NOT UP TO YOU TO BE MAKING DECISIONS ON ITS FUTURE,
The courts have already ruled that the church is entitled to demolish twice and who are the GCBT to say they are wrong, the Supreme Court should just chuck this one out and not waste their time on it.
So they found that the instruments on one of the satellites (UAH not the RSS one)
red babe stop screen linking and read the links ffs
The satellite records have a history of inaccuracy.
Over time their researchers have adjusted the record so it now more closely matches what the adjusted surface records say.
Two points I take from this are.
Even Cristy and Spencer two of the few denying climatologists have adjusted their work to reflect more warming
Cristy and Spencer have a record of underestimating temperature trends that are usually spotted by outsiders.
I would suggest you actually went to a proper science site and learn about global warming not denial.
I think GE crops are probably safe. The thought makes me a little uncomfortable, but there is no credible evidence of them being harmful. I do know that anti GE people tend to embrace the AGW cult, along with a lot of other anti science.
I’m an anti-GE person and I think that AGW is a earth worship cult.
GE for my older son, who has multiple food allergies already, is a potential nightmare scenario, where foods that may have been safe for him in the past may not be safe in the future. For instance, he is very allergic to kiwifruit. If kiwifruit were to be genetically crossed with anything else, then he could have major problems.
Lucy, I see your point, but what I have not seen is any evidence that may happen. One thing that has happened is GE crops have prevented millions from starving. I consider the risk of food allergies, in the first world, less of a concern than millions starving in the third world. As an aside, food allergies and fashionable gluten intolerance is not a problem where people go hungry.
This article talks about some of the environmental and human benefits of GE crops.
A Harley biker is riding by Auckland Zoo when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage.
Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.
The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.
Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents who thank him endlessly.
An NZ reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, ‘Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I’ve seen a man
do in my whole life.’
The Harley rider replies, ‘Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.’
The reporter says, ‘Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a journalist, and tonight your story will head the news…
So, what do you do for a living and who will you vote for in the next election?’
The biker replies, ‘I’m an SAS soldier just returned from Afghanistan and a supporter of the Right Wing’
The journalist leaves.
That night the biker turns on the news to see news of his actions, to be greeted by the announcer reading and the screen full of text:
SAS SOLDIER ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH
And that my friends, pretty much sums up the NZ media’s approach to news.
The madam opened the brothel door in Winnipeg and saw a rather dignified, well-dressed, good-looking man in his late forties or early fifties.
“May I help you sir?” she asked. The man replied “I want to see Valerie”.
“Sir, Valerie is one of our most expensive ladies. Perhaps you would prefer someone else” said the madam. He replied “No, I must see Valerie”.
Just then, Valerie appeared and announced to the man she charged $5000 a visit. Without hesitation, the man pulled out five thousand dollars and gave it to Valerie, and they went upstairs.
After an hour, the man calmly left.
The next night, the man appeared again, once more demanding to see Valerie. Valerie explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row as she was too expensive. “There are no discounts. The price is still $5000″. Again, the man pulled out the money, gave it to Valerie, and they went upstairs.
After an hour, he left.
The following night the man was there yet again.
Everyone was astounded that he had come for a third consecutive night, but he paid Valerie and they went upstairs.
After their session, Valerie said to the man “No one has ever been with me three nights in a row”. “Where are you from?” The man replied “New Brunswick”. “Really?” she said. “I have family in New Brunswick “. “I know” the man said. “Your sister died, and I am her attorney”. “She asked me to give you your $15,000 inheritance”.
With a heavy heart I have to say that Silent T has the inside running. I’m still hoping that Robertson comes through the middle & wins ensuring that Labour will stay in the opposition benches for the foreseeable future.
To this end we will be sacrificing a dog tucker ram to the appropriate deity tomorrow at 10am.
The author of the book Wheat Belly (a doctor) believes that human beings already have massive problems from eating modern hybridised wheat. As someone who has noticed health issues with eating bread (it gives me leg cramps and depression), I’m giving cutting out wheat a go. Haven’t been able to do 100% yet as it’s in so many things and it makes takeaways extremely difficult. My allergic son is also trying it, just in case some of his other allergies are caused by an underlying wheat allergy. Apparently, wheat wasn’t an issue 20 or so years ago, it’s just recently.
Though, maybe, crops can be genetically engineered to be nutritionally better, but that there would have to be a real focus on doing so rather that just engineering plants to resist bugs and grow faster and look prettier.
Lucy, Allergies are becoming an increasing problem. There has been a suggestion that it is caused by our modern life style being too clean. Growing up we are not exposed to as many bugs and germs as we once were. I often wonder if this is why babies instantly shove anything in their little mouths, no matter how awful it is. Perhaps this is to develop the immune system ? A study in Germany showed kids raised on farms had less allergies than city kids.
Modern civilisation would not be where it is now, if not for gluten containing foods. You would have heard the phrase “give us our daily bread”. You can bet that bread was not gluten free. But I have heard the suggestion that modern grains are different to the ancient ones. I am not sure about that myself.
Modern living seems somehow to make our immune systems overly sensitive. Is cleanliness at fault — or something else? Germs can be good for us. This ‘hygiene hypothesis’ claims the urban ‘Western’ lifestyle, with its relatively limited exposure to infectious agents during childhood, might be behind the post-war epi-demics of asthma, eczema and food allergies.
I’m confused. If Ted Cruz is eligible to run for president because his mother was a US citizen, then how can the possibility that Obama might be born in Kenya, at least according to the crazies, be of any significance since I imagine his mother was also a US citizen at the time?
Yes, I’ve heard about that hypothesis that modern life is too clean and I personally think it’s crap. Our food is far more complicated now, with so many more additives that it has to be more than just lack of germs. Some people with autistic kids find that removing milk and gluten from their diets makes a huge difference.
I know bread is supposed to be this food from way back that sustains life, and I’ve even read how black bread in the gulags kept people alive, but I don’t think it’s the same anymore.
There’s probably going to be a market sometime soon for people who want access to the old style grains before they were hybridised, just like there’s a market for organics, and just like there is a growing demand for unpasterised milk.
Lucy, check out that – nature – article. I would not dismiss it as crap straight away. It sounds like you are buying into the new-age hippy way of thinking. What would Jesus say about that ! I guess you need some sins to forgive with Sunday fast approaching
Lucy, that experience does not disprove the germ hypothesis, nor does it lend weight to the earth hippy version. Allergies are an immune system problem and that is unlikely to be caused by food. I suggest food is the trigger, but not the cause.
Except recent research has found that children with peanut allergy (like my son) have the lowest levels of vitamin d3 in their systems. Is that cause and effect? I don’t know. My son also get migraines from eggs. Apparently people with low levels of magnesium are prone to migraines. That indicates more than just an immune system failure, it shows there’s likely to be a food connection.
