ISP Performance

Roy Morgan has survey results on ISP performance.
They don’t cover all ISPs, but of the ones they do, Actrix tops the satisfaction survey at 86% followed by Paradise at 76%. Down the bottom Ihug is on 64%, Woosh 60%, and Xtra 55%.

Watch Slingshot market themselves as “most improved ISP”

Where is planet?
I love them because every time I have to phone them I speak to the same person who is an engineer and knows what he is doing and actually recognises my voice.
He once diagnosed a fault in the Telecom network from his desk for me. That’s service.

Anyone had slingshots ace marketing scheme ring them?
The sound of two tin cans connected by string between here and India(?) with all the static of a good 70′s connection asking if I had considered Slingshot as an ISP option? WFT are you taking the piss.
Someone in India with two empty tins of Watties and some bale twin expecting me to give up my good stable and 2000s version of an ISP?
It’s possibly the greatest anti- campaign every, but it seems to be working.

Let’s just note the title “New Zealand ISP Performance Worst in Six Years”. Amen.

Been said before,
Telecom (Xtra) need a new image and a name change.
Try “Pelican” then they can both stick their bills up their arse.

/lol @ Steve. That was sheer brilliance, mate. I used to be with those Pelicans, but after almost a year of ADSL drop offs, three routers later and inane, idiotic support on a line that was dropping every 10 to 15 minutes, I gave up and moved to Telstra Clear. It took them 3 days to sort out the problem, it did not cost me a cent and I’ve never been happier. They have some great packages as well.

also, I know there is number portability, but is there email portability. I have had my email address (which is my proper name) for about 15 years (or seems that long) & would really like to keep it.

New Zealand ISP Performance Worst in Six Years
Where are the people who promised us heaven after Telecom was nationalised? That would do wonders for NZ. The market didn’t work, so government had to intervene.
The same people are now saying we should force people to hand over money to pay a fibre network, because obviously things are still not working.
