One Carton is worth 10 pages of advertising. It presents the truth in an appealing and humorous way.
I have often wondered how the Electoral Commission regards them. Look at all the last election’s brilliant cartoons lampooning all the bribes offered by Labour that were ignored by the EC when the rest of NZ recognised these bribes?
How does the EC treat future cartoon?
Vote:February 28th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
They’ll probably treat this one as a Labour electoral advertisement given the guys behind Dear Leader with “Labour” on their briefcase!!!
What I want to know is – whatever happened to Teflon Helen? This year of “relentless positivity” has gone pear-shaped!

Poor old Helen, just think if she wasn’t so greedy she could have been putting her feet up at the UN by now…
Vote:February 28th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Its her own arrogance that is causing her undoing. She cannot see that she has no more right to tell someone what to do than the next person. What she should have done is shit the fuck up, not put her dukes up for a round with quite arguable the sharpest and deadliest of wit in journalism – the cartoonist. Her statement yesterday was like a big invite to lampoon and ridicule her.

Wow, what a classic cartoon that is by Emmerson.
The final score: Emmerson/NZ Herald 2 (one of those was an own goal by Helen!) – Helen Clark/Labour 0

“Never pick a fight with anyone who buys ink by the barrel”, or so Mark Twain is supposed to have said.
His point still stands – people who pick a fight with the press rarely come out of it looking good. The fact that they are attacking the very people they need to sell their ‘relentlessly positive’ message shows just how rattled the government is.

Now what was that comment some time back about “one being a competent and hardworking Prime Minister”
The minute she started referring to herself as ‘one” then it was the beginning of the end The first stage of the ten stages of madness.
She is now about to exit stage six and enter stage seven. The progress from one stage to the next accelerates up the scale.
She should reach stage ten about August September

Think that comment was about the same time as she referred to Phil Field simply being a guy who “Showed concern for peope” lol…

Yep, the reason Labour’s going to lose the election this year is because of that nasty Gordon Minhinnick who’s had it in for Labour, oh, for at least the last 15 years that he’s been dead
Vote:February 28th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Helens press conferences get dozens of questions.
Exactly the sort of press conferences Bolger and Shipley refused to hold ( all comers welcome)
Funny how one comment about Minhinnic ( who got a knighthood from the tories) suddenly appears on the front page under a red headline of democracy under threat

Oh dear. GWW. Oh Dear.
Vote:This from a supporter of the most morally bankrupt and corrupt administration ever to have a go at destroying New Zealand.
How could you even keep a straight face while suggesting out of the blue that the right repaid a cartoonist, when your lot repaid money with honor. Are you really that pathetic? Wow!
February 28th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
I never heard anyone criticise the late Gordon Minhinnick for his Herald cartoons (and I saw most of them over several years. So goodness knows why Helen has opened up on him now, instead of many years ago (she would probably have had no credibility then, everyone would have laughed, she would have copped it from Minhinnick and everyone would have laughed again).

Look what happened to a Herald cartoonist recently who offended his masters, and of course Granny ran the Mohammed cartoons ( yeah right)
Minhinnick was too the right of Garth George ( would he get a gong from the Tories very very likely)
The herald has had it in for labour since they got the masthead lease back deal ( which screwed the taxpayers) canned by Cullen

Morally bankrupt!!
Thats a laugh, ask those who have been financially bankrupted by that arm of the NP, Blue Chip
I guess we wont be hearing much from Blue Chip board member Lockwood Smith.
Just as well the other former national cabinet members got out before the Serious Fraud office turned up.
John key was lucky like that too.
Thank god he could remember all( for once in his life) to tell the cops all about his ex work mates during his police interview
[DPF: And that is 35 demerits for false and defamatory comments]

GWWNZ … smear, smear, smear … you are totally and completely morally bankrupt. A fetish for schoolboy french, place dropper to boot “when I was last in Monarco” and proven liar. You sicken me. There are good people in the Labour Party (albeit a diminishing number) but to have you as their standard bearer must test their commitment and patience.
Pray tell, where on page 47 of the Return of Members Interests for 2007 is LS listed as a director of Blue Chip or are you saying LS lied to Parliament?
Back in the gutter you pathetic creature. Hold on perhaps you are the ‘guy’ who screwed the goat, yes, that would explain it.

Sorted out your number plates yet Ross, thats numero de plaque for residents of monaco.
But never been there myself.
The Blue Chip Board, Wyatt Creech and Luxton seem to have gotten out before the fraud squad arrived ( where have we heard that arrive)
Lockwood Smith and Blue Chip, you are right not a board member, but maybe he was the one to hit on them for a juicy donation. for his face time.
As you know denials of who funded your party just mean you are hiding something
But the photos of LS with the crooks at Blue Chip are much much better than being on the board.
This is miles off topic, but thanks for the chance to correct my error

Ghostie
You just claimed that Lockwood Smith is a board member of Blue Chip. Before making this claim you haven’t bothered to check
- the Companies Office website
- the Blue Chip website
- the Return of Members Interests.
When Ross Millar calls you on your error, you casually admit to being wrong, but make another accusation about Lockwood Smith.
Given your proven track record of dishonesty and your incompetence in undertaking even elementary research before smearing someone, why do you think anyone would be gullible enough to believe you this time?

Ghostwhobullshits – I presume you were referring to this thread from the Sub-Standard – http://www.thestandard.org.nz/?p=1163 – just another attempt by the lads there to “foment malicious mischief” – Lockwood Smith was in that photo in his capacity as an electorate MP, and Greg Turner & Larry Graham as representatives of New Zealand Golf. Bluechip Finance was NOT at that time insolvent, and NZ Golf was happy to have them as a sponsor. That’s all – no smoking gun; no anonymous donations, nothing. Your cowardice makes me want to vomit!

GWWNZ, I have read with mild interest various posters calling you names such as liar etc before. This time I followed the thread and can see that you simply made things up – such as Lockwood Smith being on the Board of that Blue Chip company. Why lie? Now I can’t trust anything you post.
And while we’re on the subject of companies going under. That is what happens in business. Everytime a company goes bust all sorts of usually ignorant types jump up and down somehow expecting the govt to permanently guarantee that no company ever goes bust. The finance companies are a classic. Take note you folk – companies go bust. Its called making a loss and is quite normal. If you can’t handle the heat get away from the fire. The finance companies may offer a lesson in greed – if you can;t handle the extra risk then dont chase the extra 1-2%p.a. in interest (the risk and return never matched up, that’s why I never invested in them even though I borrowed from them).
note – I am well aware that sometimes a company will get rorted by a rogue. Different thing.

vto, i said I was in error about Lockwood smith. He is not on the board. If these are pointed out to me i will correct them. But of course The national party and Blue Chip are really really close
Vote:February 29th, 2008 at 9:20 am
Actually Ghost you didn’t say you were in error about Lockwood Smith.
What you did say was “Lockwood Smith and Blue Chip, you are right not a board member, but maybe he was the one to hit on them for a juicy donation. for his face time”.
So, no attempt to apologise and to compound your drival you proceed to suggest he might have hit them up for a donation.
How is that any more plausable than for me to ascert that Mike Williams might have done the same thing also?
And does “the national party and Blue Chip are really really close” mean that the National Party owns Blue Chip; has shares in Blue Chip; has directors on Blue Chip; has people who know directors of Blue Chip; has people who know people who know directors on Blue Chip; has people who invested in Blue Chip; or is this just another attempt to smear again.
Money where mouth is please.
